At 25 degrees Celsius, I had to take my daughter to school, about 6 km, started a Volkswagen Passat B6 and was surprised - the tachometer speed did not come out to warm up and the engine worked like in the summer, about 700 rpm, put my daughter down and just got under way I felt the smell of burning wiring in the cabin decided not to jam and take his daughter to school. We were late. Then he didn’t jam and came straight home to the parking lot. I realized that the starter was "finished." I muffled and called a tow truck, went over how much I gave - I don't remember either, but the breakdown broke all plans, to work on foot, after the child on foot, the service said that the relay was stuck, native spare parts for the Volkswagen Passat B6 are also not cheap, to order, model new was. Not in operation for a year, dealers refused to change under warranty, such as Moscow frosts and all that. In the second year of operation, the Volkswagen Passat B6 made a noise in the front of the engine, in the place of the generator. I went to the diagnostics, they "sentenced" the air conditioner compressor, opened it, the whole cavity was in the sinks, again, not an insured event, like I went without freon, in short, there was no point in "butting" with them, I took a contract compressor and decided to sell the car, too " raw ", in my opinion. Chassis "explosive", our roads are not "swallowed", the ground clearance is low, punched several times hard, especially on the Tula highway. The salon is decently sewn together, the assembly is also good, there are also few complaints about handling, the devices are readable, only the red backlighting acts on the eyes. Safety at a height - a bunch of pillows, curtains. The music is good, but only CD, the machine is not for everybody.

Owned Volkswagen Passat B6 2FSI 6АКП, not DSG, 5 years. Mileage 133 thousand km. What can I say - dynamics, handling, steering angle when turning, swivel xenon. A very useful "auto hold" function, you do not need to keep your foot on the brake when stopping, for example, uphill at a traffic light. The quality of the finishing materials in the Volkswagen Passat B6 is at the best level, the "Japanese" are clearly inferior, went to all, with exceptions. I think the Passat is the best in its class for its money. But not everything is as good as it seems. In severe frosts (-25) "Passat" refused to start. What I just didn’t do. I had to put it in a brick garage, the problem went away, but for this the car is a big minus. 2-2.5 years of ownership did not break anything, only scheduled maintenance. The salon is really big, the trunk is huge, from time to time there were "crickets" in the front panel, especially in winter. Then there was some kind of whistle under the hood, there was no cold one, it turned out that there was a membrane on the valve cover, not separately, only assembled. Burned out xenon on the right headlight. To change, you need to remove the headlight. The engine and gearbox of the Volkswagen Passat B6 worked perfectly, in the chassis I changed all the silent blocks of all levers, all the CV joints, the front stabilizer rods, the rear wheel bearing only assembled, I buy German spare parts, but not the original. Now the belt is peaking, as if I’m not fastened, I have to not fasten, because the beeping does not disappear. I put it up for sale and sold it (cheaper). On a good track, I accelerated the Volkswagen Passat B6 to 215 km / h. I think that this is not the limit. Holds the road perfectly, the brakes are just ideal, accelerate faster on tiptronic, only you don't need to switch, it switches itself when necessary. Check how it starts in cold weather, or buy a 1.8 turbo, there are no problems with this, but it eats oil, unlike a 2-liter one.

The previous car was a 2000 Ford Mondeo, 2.5 V6 170 hp. Manual transmission, traveled about 80 thousand on it and sold 220,000 km with mileage. I decided to upgrade, took the Volkswagen Passat B6 trade wind, I really liked it externally, in Minsk then there were not so many of them, or rather a lot, but not like now. I fundamentally do not perceive a diesel engine, and the "gasoline" for an affordable amount was only atmospheric from Europe with twisted runs. I liked the car right away, when I sat down, I felt that it was mine, everything was convenient, everything was at hand, everything was right, it was going fast, the consumption was sane - 7 liters on the highway. If you do not travel more than 100, and 11-12 liters in the city, in winter in the city you will have a liter and a half more. The car is perfect in handling, the steering wheel is very sharp and informative, the Volkswagen Passat B6 holds the road well, you can drive along the 160 km / h highway without straining, there are no problems with overtaking, the machine is very fast, it immediately drops gear, if there is not enough traction, overtaking for pleasure. After the mechanics for a long time I could not get used to the automatic, yet it is not ideal, you can feel the switchings and blur the sharpness of the transmission of dynamics. In short, for more than two years I haven’t gotten used to it, the next car I’ll take is basically a “pen”, and it’s boring on the machine - there are not so many traffic jams in Minsk, so the machine is not so relevant. The soundproofing of the cabin is decent, but I can't call it ideal, at the level of the same "Mondeo", the suspension is the same, rather stiff enough and a little explosive, the "disease" is a rattling steering rack, I changed the stabilizer rods and the boot of the outer CV joint twice, nothing else in the car did not break, changed only "consumables".

Dignity : beautiful car. Good overview. Comfortable fit. Quite comfortable long-distance ride, the back does not get tired.

disadvantages : a lot of crickets and squeaks in the cabin. Harsh suspension coupled with a rattling steering rack.
