But the first "Lanos", which came to Ukraine, were unique in their way. It was, as they said at the time, the "underdeveloped" C-class. The car was produced in Poland, had a Korean filling and in the early 2000s it cost 8-9 thousand dollars from the salon.

Many motorists who bought this "Lanos" drove it for many years. And even when the Ukrainian assembly began, the used "Poles" were valued more than their Ukrainian second-hand colleagues.

The car was originally manufactured by Daewoo. Lanos development program was launched in autumn 1993. It was first presented at the 1997 Geneva Motor Show under the name Daewoo Lanos.

The car was designed by Daewoo R&D center in collaboration with German and British engineering companies. The body design was developed by the famous Italian studio ItalDesign. The Lanos launch cost the company $ 420 million. The model was available in three versions: a three-door hatchback, a five-door hatchback and a sedan. There was also a limited edition Lanos Cabrio, which was produced from 1997 to 2002.

At first Daewoo Lanos were produced only in Korea, but soon, in 1997, Lanos began to be assembled in Poland. In 2003, Ukravto signed an agreement with GM Daewoo to create a full-scale production of Lanos models at ZAZ with a capacity of up to 90 thousand units per year. Meanwhile, in Poland in 2008, the production of Lanos was discontinued.

Since September 2008 Lanos has become a Ukrainian car for all production characteristics of localization. ZAZ carries out stamping, welding, painting of bodies, assembly of cars, and for some models also production of engines - at the Melitopol Motor Plant. For the production of Lanos bodies, the plant had to almost completely change all the equipment, because the new car required other technologies for stamping, welding and painting.

Since November 2012, Lanos cars with factory gas equipment began to be produced. This was a response to the demand for LPG among those wishing to save on fuel. And a special compliment to the taxi drivers, who were already beginning to become the main target audience for Lanos manufacturers.

Thus, the car was completely transferred to Ukrainian components. It would seem that the price should have also dropped, but this did not happen: the Ukrainian assembly, which caused serious complaints about the quality, cost the same $ 9,000 as the Polish-Korean assembly ten years ago.

When disconnecting the vacuum tube from the RTD - the fuel pressure regulator, the pressure is set to the maximum - 3.0-3.5 kgf / cm 2. If you have a lower pressure in the ramp, then this may be the reason for the failure when starting the movement. It is necessary to check the operability of the fuel pressure regulator, as well as the check valve in the fuel pump.

The failure of the EGR valve can also be the cause of the failure. After prolonged operation, the EGR valve tends to hang open. At the same time, there is a constant leakage of exhaust gases into the intake receiver, which also causes a failure when starting off. For testing, you can simply temporarily shut off this valve.

At the moment, the Chevrolet Lanos assembly technology includes four stages. Production begins with the fact that with the help of pressing equipment, parts and components for the future Sherole Lanos are manufactured. After that, the body parts are sent to the welding shop, where specialists, using advanced Japanese and German technology, weld them together. Then, the finished body is sent to the tightness control workshop.


At the third stage, when the body is already equipped with a hood and doors, it is sent for painting. A special workshop has 9 robots that are capable of processing 32 bodies per hour.


The last stage includes all the final assembly processes, including the installation of power units and transmissions. Usually, the duration of 4 production stages does not exceed 2 minutes.

Assembly features

At the Zaporozhye plant, Chevrolet Lanos is equipped with three economical power units. These are motors with a volume of 1.3 liters, 1.4 liters and 1.5 liters, respectively. All of them successfully cooperate with the new transmission developed by Ukrainian engineers.


Before the start of the assembly of the Chevrolet Lanos, the shops of the Zaporozhye enterprise were significantly modernized. American investors have allocated a large sum of money to upgrade the plant's equipment.

Output

Chevrolet Lanos cars are supplied to the domestic market directly from the ZAZ plant. This model is in great demand in Russia, primarily due to its low cost. However, as evidenced by the reviews of the owners, the Ukrainian-assembled Chevrolet Lanos has a large number of shortcomings, the reason for the appearance of which lies in the financial policy of the company, which relies on savings. And so far she's been doing it pretty well.
