Drawings of homemade all-terrain vehicles. Homemade tracked all-terrain vehicles

Dear visitors of the site "" today we will figure out how to independently make tracks for a tracked all-terrain vehicle and what is needed for this? Drove ... is the most passable among its brethren, and all because the specific pressure on the ground is evenly distributed over the entire lower plane of the caterpillar, that is, it is a homogeneous fulcrum. But on wheeled ATVs, the pressure is distributed over 4 points, so they often get stuck and skid. A simple example to you, why tracked tanks? Yes, all for the same reason, in order to evenly distribute the huge weight of the machine on the plane of the caterpillar in contact with the ground, otherwise they will simply get stuck in the ground and not budge.

The first step is to get a conveyor belt, it looks like this.

You will also need a rectangular pipe.
Well, of course, fasteners in the form of: bolts, nuts, washers, engravers.
First, we make the blanks of the tracks according to the width of the caterpillar being made, saw it with a grinder and put it in a pile)
After that, these blanks need to be given the desired shape and crimped on a special homemade machine. For clarity, let's see how a professional does it, 40 seconds for crimping one track is not a joke to you guys)

It is advisable to grease the ends a little with used oil.
After the track is in the correct shape, you still need to weld the fangs onto it.

In the upper part, reinforcement is additionally welded in the form of the letter " V»

In general, such a track should work.
First, you need to check and fit directly at the installation site of the track itself. Then you can already start assembling the caterpillar, but first you need to make holes in the conveyor belt, basically just such a homemade tool is used. The tube is sharpened from the end, and on the side there is a hole for removing chopped rubber.
The tracks are also drilled with a drill, 2 holes on each edge.
Next, we are already assembling the caterpillar into a single whole.

This is how they make homemade tracks for all-terrain vehicles, as you can see, it is quite possible to do it yourself, which will significantly reduce the cost of the all-terrain vehicle you assemble.

Thank you all for your attention!

Once I tried to clean snow on an ATV.

Everything would have been fine, and the bucket knife worked properly, but the grip of the wheels on snow and on ice was clearly not enough. Even though studded tires from a car were used.

Therefore the ATV is on the tracks.

For a long time I studied the design of industrial hinged tracks, installed instead of wheels, but in the end I came to the conclusion that it would be much easier to make a completely new tracked platform, especially since the ATV managed to be in an accident, as a result of which the frame was significantly deformed.

I bought the cheapest caterpillars - from Buran.

The so-called trolleys, drive and driven shafts are also from it. On the occasion, we managed to buy a serviceable gearbox from Oka, complete with drives and brakes, for just 1000 rubles. All this later came in handy to create a workable all-terrain vehicle.

I welded the propulsion frames from rectangular pipes and connected them together using a frame, since the structure was originally made collapsible (photo 1).

The track tensioning mechanism is shown in photo 2.

I cut off the splined part of the drive shafts from the Buran and welded to them the splined part of the shafts from the Oka (photo 5), which made it possible to use the native CV joints of this wonderful minicar (photo 4). The brake discs were also useful (photo 10).

I did the same with the front shafts in order to subsequently install brakes on them.

I cut off a part of the gearbox housing to ensure free passage of the chain to its drive shaft (photo 7).

For the power plant and seat attachment, I welded a separate frame (photo 9). The brakes are shown in photo 10. As the working brake cylinders, I used hydraulic cylinders from the VAZ-2101 clutch (photo 11).

Looking ahead, I will explain why I installed the brakes on the front shafts, and not on the drive ones - the rear ones, which would be more logical.

The fact is that the all-terrain vehicle was supposed to have a width of no more than 120 cm - this was due to some features of its operation on our site. But the width of the gearbox and the tracks themselves did not allow placing the brakes on the drive shafts without violating the above condition.

The differential turn itself is also not the most successful solution from a technical point of view, however, on low-power structures it is quite workable and quite reliable - the strength of the gearbox and caterpillar mechanisms for this design is enough even in excess.

During the execution of the installation work, everything was used. For example, I made levers from steering bipods from Oka, which, when steering, put pressure on the brake cylinder rods (photo 12-15).

Fitting the engine took a little time (photo 16-17) .. Between the engine and the gearbox there is such a spacer adjustable in length, which helps to relieve the load from the mountings of these units (photo 18).

The fitting of the plumage and seat is shown in photo 19.

"Kengurin", aka the blade bracket, is welded from a square pipe (photo 20-23).

The presence of a gearbox allows you to use the all-terrain vehicle for both household needs and entertainment.

In the first or second gear, a tractor is obtained - unhurried, but very high-torque, capable of pushing a blade full of wet snow in front of it. On the third or fourth, transport for pokatushek.

The controls turned out to be very easy - even a child can handle maneuvers - and the all-terrain vehicle itself is very passable, because it leans on the tracks from the elongated Buran being twice as light as it.

Therefore, no, even the most fluffy snowdrifts are not afraid of him. The only thing left to finish is the fenders and full-length full-length footpegs, to which the hands cannot reach.

Now it is a favorite "toy" for children and adults in our company, not only in winter (photos 24-25), but also in summer.

It's no secret that on the territory of our vast country there are areas where it is absolutely impossible to move normally on the roads because of their poor quality. In this case, a special vehicle comes to the rescue, which is characterized by high cross-country ability. It's about an all-terrain vehicle. But, unfortunately, it is practically unrealistic to acquire such a means of transportation that would be light, economical and inexpensive. Therefore, many craftsmen with engineering and technical skills decide to create a caterpillar all-terrain vehicle with their own hands, taking into account their needs and capabilities.

How can tracked ATVs be used?

These self-made crawler devices come in a variety of sizes and are used for a variety of purposes. With their help, heavy loads are moved, which are placed either in a body or in a special trailer. If a self-made caterpillar all-terrain vehicle is used for a summer residence, then in this case, various building materials are most often transported.

In addition, such a vehicle has transport versatility, and if any unforeseen circumstances arise, it is possible to quickly, without any difficulties, get to a certain destination over rough terrain.

What to look for when creating a homemade ATV?

If you decide to make a caterpillar all-terrain vehicle with your own hands, then you must clearly understand for what purpose it will be used. Be sure to consider the following points:

  • Weather conditions during operation.
  • Dimensions. The width affects the cross-country ability of a caterpillar all-terrain vehicle made by hand, the length is calculated from the number of seats or the presence of a luggage compartment device, and the height should be optimal when creating the amphibious properties of the unit.
  • Motor power. The more powerful the engine, the easier it is to navigate hard-to-reach road sections.
  • Goal. Depending on the purpose for which the mobile device is intended, its design can be modified.
  • Number of wheels. Most often, a self-made caterpillar all-terrain vehicle, made by hand, has wheels from two to eight pairs, which are necessary to support the caterpillar track.

Drawing creation

The most crucial stage is making a sketch of a tracked all-terrain vehicle. Do-it-yourself drawings with the arrangement of the mechanisms of the unit and its components are drawn after that. They must be very accurate. When creating such a vehicle, they usually use both home-made parts and ready-made elements of factory production. They are drawn separately, with the calculation of the compatibility and performance of parts and assemblies.

Design features

A crawler all-terrain vehicle, made by hand, must have an engine. Basically, this element is taken from cars, most often domestic ones. You can also borrow it from a motorcycle. The undercarriage is represented by rubber tracks, tensioning system, suspension, rollers. Car tires are often used to make tracks. The base of the undercarriage consists of a tub, frame or any other metal frame. For the control system, various components are taken or ready-made controls for motorcycles or cars, as well as tractors, are used. A home-made tracked all-terrain vehicle, made by hand, has a power system, which is represented by a fuel tank, gasoline or diesel. Gas equipment is used much less often.

Manufacturing technology

Do-it-yourself light tracked all-terrain vehicles are made according to a certain technology. Their creation begins with the construction of the body, which must have high strength and complete water resistance. The basis of homemade transport must be rigid, so steel pipes are taken that can withstand any physical stress arising from movement. Then they begin to make caterpillars. To do this, take an ordinary rubber sheet and create a ring rubber. Small aluminum blades are placed on its outer side using rivets, and the necessary stops are installed on the inner side, the step width of which is equal to the width of the rubber of the wheels.

The next stage is that the bridges are removed from the car through the holes that were specially made in the body for this. Rubber couplings are used as protection. The rubber band is attached so that the wheels are right in the center of the stops. In addition, additional wheels are also fixed. They are necessary to keep the track taut. At the end of the work, heavy-duty glasses are inserted in the cockpit of the all-terrain vehicle, made by hand.

Conclusion

Thus, this means of transportation is an indispensable means of transport in hard-to-reach areas where there are practically no roads. Possessing engineering and technical qualities, you can easily create tracked all-terrain vehicles with your own hands, the drawings of which will help to correctly design such a unit.

Today we will talk about home-made vehicles that our talented people make literally on their knees.

Homemade vehicles are generally a separate art form (so to speak) that can surprise! Off-road vehicles, buggies, tracked motorcycles, amphibians - people do all this in their garages. And as a couple it is quite interesting to look at the fruits of the “fantasy and direct hands” of our compatriots. Which is what I propose to do now.

Price: 250.000₽

The body of the all-terrain vehicle remained from the ZAZ-368. The gearbox, internal combustion engine and axle are installed from Soviet cars of the VAZ family. Quite a peppy all-terrain vehicle.

Tracked all-terrain vehicle from "Oka" for 260.000₽

Another curious all-terrain vehicle from the Oka. Impressive, isn't it? This instance accelerates to 45 km / h and knows how to swim - which is not very bad.

Craftsmen assembled an amphibious tracked all-terrain vehicle and put a UAZ body on it

What our craftsmen are not capable of, when it comes to translating ideas into reality, anything can go hand in hand, even a body from a bobby that has been standing in the yard for a long time. Although this story has a much more serious character, we will talk about the "Association of All Terrain Vehicles", which are engaged in the production of extremely interesting equipment to order. Let's take a look at ZVM-2410 Ukhtysh. I just want to say: “Wow! What a cool UAZ! ”, The first time when I saw the photo I thought that it was just the masters of photo processing tried, but no, then I found a video and not even one.

The equipment is produced by craftsmen on their own, but on the basis of generally available and widespread technology, which is very good in terms of maintainability and further maintenance.

Well, let's take a closer look at what's in front of us. The all-terrain vehicle has two volumes, the first is sealed and serves for buoyancy on the water, the second is actually UAZ 31512/14, at the top everything is clear (almost) 5 seats, trunk, engine compartment, and at the bottom there is a homemade tracked platform.

The tracks provide minimum ground pressure and maximum grip, coupled with good ground clearance and the ability to swim, we get excellent equipment for the deepest places.

The buyer is offered three engines to choose from: ZMZ-409 (143 hp, gasoline), ZMZ-51432 (113 hp, diesel) and, in my opinion, the best Cummins option (2.8, diesel, 120 hp). The transmission is developed by the company independently, a mechanic with 4 or 5 steps is offered to choose from. The steering is carried out by clutches with a servo booster, the levers move very easily, like in a computer game, or for extra. board you can put an ordinary steering wheel.

As you can see, the car has very interesting doors, the phrase "go out the window" is well applicable in this case, it is necessary for the ability to swim, and the basic equipment includes a bilge pump. There is also a bracket for a winch, it is a pity that a mechanical one is not immediately provided to get out of any dirt.

What makes me happy in this project is the possibility of making it to order, and not another garage creation, the price is by the way 2 lemons 350 pieces, you decide a lot or a little, but for a ready-made amphibious all-terrain vehicle, I think it's not even bad, since there are few analogues.

All-terrain vehicle - a homemade product equipped with a turbodiesel from Mazda

There are a lot of enthusiasts in Russia who are capable of a lot in order to surprise or delight motorists with their amazing projects. Look, for example, at this tracked all-terrain vehicle called GV-3. It was built from scratch and took only a year and a half to complete.

This all-terrain vehicle was designed almost entirely from scratch. Its chassis, suspension, most of the body parts, exhaust system, electrics, heating, cooling, control, air purification and interior trim were made by the owner of GV-3.

For the construction of this project, it was decided to borrow components and assemblies from the GAZ-71 tracked all-terrain vehicle. And under the hood of the homemade product they installed a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine from Mazda. In the process of creating the body, parts from several cars were used: UAZ-Hunter, Sobol, Gazelle, UAZ-452 and UAZ-469. Please note that the all-terrain vehicle has independent pneumatic lever suspension.

Tracks for GV-3 were made to order at the Kursk Composite Plant. As for the wheels, they were taken from the VAZ classics. It turned out to be a rather interesting homemade all-terrain vehicle. It can be used not only for entertainment, but also for hunting trips or winter fishing.

Lightweight tracked all-terrain vehicle with Lifan engine

The light tracked all-terrain vehicle with an 11 l / s Lifan engine assembled by Dmitry Dementiev is an order of magnitude better than factory counterparts, and at a price several times cheaper, because it is assembled almost entirely from components and assemblies of domestic production.

The engine is located at the rear, and the drive is front, that is, from the rear to the front there is a cardan. The all-terrain vehicle is floating and has a boat hull welded from 1.5 mm sheet metal.

Dear visitors of the site "SAMODELKINDRUG" in this article, your attention will be presented to an all-terrain vehicle with an off-road tracked chassis.
