I sell a jeep (I consider it unsafe to ride an SUV in the city), but a motorcycle will not work in winter.

Therefore, Mazda for me remains a versatile, reliable and convenient vehicle.

Since the last recall, the only repair, in addition to scheduled maintenance, is the replacement of bearings on the front wheels at a run of about 110,000 km. The price of the issue with the installation is about 3500 each. I advise you to change both at once, since they began to buzz with a difference of 5000 km. As a result, I had to go to the service twice. On the buzzing left I drove 5000 km, because I did not want to waste time and money for a replacement in Europe (in Norway they set up 20,000 rubles for repairs - pranksters). The cost of maintenance from unofficials in the Mazda club is not more than 10,000 rubles. once every 15000 km

Winter and summer tires are worn out. Suspension is in perfect order, while I do not brake on speed bumps and holes. The cost of a new non-original bumper is only 5500r. + 8000 RUR painting by an authorized dealer (the old bumper, also unoriginal, cracked in the cold with a small accident at a speed of 10 km / h). The RVM system really saves from accidents - not a single accident in 4 years with the participation of other vehicles. At the same time, I drive fast and actively rebuild. In winter I drive like in summer - I rebuild, overtake, enter the turns. Native athermal glass protects the car from overheating very well (when you leave the car in the sun and sit down after such a parking).

  • - cools quickly in the cold, but heats up quickly. Cold seats are uncomfortable at first. In the BMW f10, I felt warmer, the car kept warm for a very long time, the seats were almost always warm.
  • - expensive original glass - I put only it. Change every one and a half years. It is quickly overwritten with frequent driving on the highway.
  • - there are chips on the hood, it made sense to book with a film.
  • - sometimes it seems that the dynamics are not enough, especially when changing from a motorcycle.

  • The design is still great, especially in the copper red color
  • The trunk is larger than in some station wagons
  • At the end of the warranty, you can deliver multimedia with a navigator
  • Excellent steering!
  • Reliable, 100% sure in the car, does not require any additional investments

Weak sides:

  • Lack of Mazda in the list of luxury brands -)
  • Periodically appearing and disappearing crickets in the cabin (I hardly notice, but they are ... apparently used to it)
  • Very cold steering wheel - it heats up for a long time, hands freeze (solved by installing abnormal heating, the issue price is about 14k)
  • Lack of many functions that are in modern luxury and not very cars (seat memory, communication with the phone, opening the trunk from buttons, etc., etc.)
  • It's hard to drive long distances (more than 500 km) - you get tired, as the car requires constant monitoring
  • Overestimated cost of CASCO (I did not do the last year, since they raised it to 80k and higher)

When it comes to Japanese D-segment cars, the first brands of which every Ukrainian will think about are Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mazda. Yes, the list is short, but worse is that the network is replete with comparison and discussion of only the top-selling Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. What is known about the other two cars - the flagship sedans Mazda and Nissan? Here, the experts of the automotive search engine Automoto.Ua will compare the less popular representatives of the segment, allowing you to decide for yourself - Mazda 6 or Nissan Teana. In this duel, versions with 2.0-liter engines will fight: the 134-horsepower Teana XL and the 153-horsepower Mazda 6.

Design

The current Nissan Teana is in its most attractive third generation, which you can read about on the pages of the automoto.ua website. It differs from its predecessor in a wide, aggressive silhouette with sharper curves, directed from the swept headlights, along the side profiles, to the steep taillights.

As soon as you enter the cockpit, your eye is immediately drawn to the expressive, characteristic line that originates from the dashboard and winds along the doors. The interior of Teana has a representative charm, but in the corporate style of the brand. A pair of rocker switches on the steering wheel, and rich orange lighting on all gauges except for the speedometer are Nissan hallmarks. That said, the 16-inch alloy wheels look small compared to the 17-inch ones included in the top-tier 2.5-liter engine.

As for the Mazda 6 - even when stationary, the 6's energy and dynamics come from its distinctive 5-section grille and sweeping, muscular wheel arches that capture the headlights.

Inside, the Mazda 6 after facelift focuses on the driving position. The arrangement of switches and buttons is simple and straightforward. The main touchscreen displays the branded MZD Connect system, which is controlled by a round knob located just behind the gear lever. A stitched leather strand extends along the vents and along the sides of the center console for a premium minimalist feel.

Functions and technologies

The mid-range Teana XL trim level and the Mazda 6 facelift are worthy deals. Why? The specifications are very similar in terms of technology and functionality. Each has power leather seats (and memory, for Mazda owners). Teana features a 5-inch color display with audio capabilities such as Aux-In, CD, USB, Bluetooth and iPod sync. The Mazda 6 control system in the form of MZD connect is the undisputed leader with a 7-inch touchscreen monitor, and features common to Teana such as USB, Bluetooth, etc. However, both lack the navigation system found at the top trim levels, but a rear-view camera and cruise control are included in the base. The audio in both machines is played through a 6-speaker system.

In terms of technology, the Mazda 6 certainly wins with its dash-to-windshield projector and a more powerful 2.5-liter version including i-Eloop regenerative braking system, i-Activsense (active safety system), lane tracking system and paddle shifters for shifting gears on the go. While Nissan doesn't offer any of the technologies listed, its zero-gravity driver's seat is unique in the class. Comfortable and fantastic, it supports the body well, and is excellent for long journeys, relieving a lot of stress, especially on the lower back.

Riding impressions

Comparing the two cars, the Teana seems to be lacking in power, but in fact it turned out to be good enough. Starting from a standstill is very smooth, given the use of the variator. But by adding speed around corners and bumpy roads, ride quality suffers noticeably from the vehicle's weight. At the rear, passengers will feel as comfortable as possible thanks to the ample legroom. Noise isolation in Teana is at a decent level.

Mazda 6 surprises with a cold-blooded start. Gear shifting is fast and smooth. As for the Skyactiv transmission, its settings are generally focused on fuel economy. But the situation changes as soon as you give in to the gas - then the car becomes more dynamic. When cornering, the Mazda 6 is stiffer than the Teana. What the Mazda 6 really lacks are paddle shifters. They are provided only in the version with a 2.5-liter engine. If Mazda included them in the 2.0-liter version, it would be the best D-segment car without a doubt.

Summing up

These cars are great alternatives to more popular options, with good safety ratings and a base 6 airbags in all trim levels. You may be wondering if Mazda justifies the higher cost over Nissan? Yes, it does. After all, the 6 provides a sense of driver involvement in the driving experience, unlike many other vehicles in the segment. However, Teana, with its versatile technology package, is also noteworthy. And we recommend this vehicle if you are looking for a good D-segment sedan.

This is not the first time I have seen this review, but the first time I read the comments, I am certainly udevlen how many I wanted to read everything and the answers, but I didn’t have the strength) people have very different opinions. The review, as always, is constructive and understandable, and so on, I don't understand who didn't like what. But with regards to Nissan Teana, since I myself am the owner, I will say the following, it is clear that everyone praises his trough when he owns it, but! This is already the 3rd car of this brand and model, and if it did not suit me, I would hardly buy the 2nd and 3rd after respectively! At the age of 14 I decided to buy a new one from the salon, I walked around with my nose for a long time at the Camry, I really liked the Mazda, but it was more expensive (Mazda liked the face, the ass is categorically not, Teana has a bigger ass than before, but the Camry is generally ordinary at that time, as they say " the eye has nothing to catch on "). In general, thanks to a discount of 100, I took Tehanu L33 2.5 quite satisfied, later due to financial needs I had to sell it (I really didn’t want to part with it "to tears"). I walked around the markets for a long time in search of a cheaper car and could not find anything where it would be so convenient for me as in teana. As a result, I saw Tehanu 11 years old 2.5 v6, sat down in the salon and understood only I want it, I found a variant for the price and took it. And to those who write that the previous generation was better or worse in design and interior, I will say this: they are simply different and both fall in love with themselves in their own way. Now I again took the last generation L33 V6 3.5 (everyone is happy, and sometimes the thought jumps over to take it again as a second j32 car of 12th year), of course, the previous generation and the last one differ radically in handling on the j32, you just want to go quietly smoothly sometimes pressing to hear the bass V6 , and on the L33, you can take turns more dynamically, although you can feel the relationship with its predecessor. None of the cars had problems with the variator; its smooth operation suits me quite well, occasionally when I want to switch, I can turn on the sport mode or ride on the petals! And I still don’t understand why people are afraid of CVTs, after all, it’s already the 18th year, this is not 2006 when people were afraid to buy an automatic machine in the same way because they were afraid that if it breaks, no one will fix it! Now there are a lot of services for the repair and maintenance of variators, and indeed on the market out of the 10 most running automatic machines, probably only 2 can drive longer than a variator (with normal operation and maintenance). After seeing a lot of negative comments about the teana, I will say the following, guys, you just probably did not ride it! Quite often we conduct our test drives in Ukraine. There is a very simple explanation for this. New items often enter the Russian market with a delay, and cars have to wait a long time, for example, new ones Logan or Skoda Rapid we are not yet sold, but in Ukraine - they are available from dealers! This is an example and a new one Mazda 6 with a powerful 2.5-liter engine, this version will appear in Moscow in the salons of official importers not earlier than the beginning of June, although in Kiev it has been showing off on show windows for several months! And here again we were able to go to Ukraine, especially since the new Mazda 6 with engine 2.5 can be easily compared with such large Japanese E-class sedans as Nissan teana and the leader in segment sales Toyota Camry... But you should not discount the novelty, which in the new generation was noticeably distributed in size. We got a purely Japanese test drive in Kiev.

We all remember that at the end of March the sun was hot with might and main, I did not insist on changing winter tires to summer ones - and I was not mistaken. On the eve of our departure for the Kiev test drive of Japanese sedans, snow poured down, so much so that both Moscow and Kiev were covered up to the hubs! The first two hundred kilometers of the Kievskoye Highway, the cars squelched on a porridge of wet snow and water, forcing the traction control systems to work tirelessly - even on Teana, which we got in an all-wheel drive version! By the way, Teana's all-wheel drive (the rear wheels are connected by an electronically controlled clutch) is not a reason to blame us for the incorrect selection of competitors! After all, four-wheel drive is not available for other cars in our test, even for a surcharge, so why Teane not use this advantage? We already used it with might and main: only Teana Allowed to boldly move down to the muddy roadsides and stop at the parking lots covered with snow.

There is less snow in the Kaluga Region - we are driving on wet asphalt, although the roadside is still covered with snow. It's time to evaluate the work of the brakes on the "mixed"! Making sure that I will not interfere with anyone, at a speed of 90 km / h I shift onto a slippery shoulder and brake to the floor. and Nissan teana slow down confidently, only slightly shifting towards the asphalt. A Toyota Camry goes like a string: you can even let go of the steering wheel - and the car will not deviate!

I should have been glad of that, but I was scared: the brakes seemed to have failed! I continue to press the pedal as much as possible, and the deceleration is two times weaker than on other cars ... ABS it releases not only the right wheels going along the soggy roadside, but also the left ones, those on the asphalt! About unpleasant surprises ABS on cars Volkswagen we have already told, but now it seems that it will be necessary to deal with Camry... Looking ahead, I will say that Mazda did not have such problems - later I specifically checked. We did not notice any other shortcomings of the brakes either in Toyota or in the other three cars.

Kiev had drawbacks. The half-meter-long snowdrifts melted, but the roads under them appeared as if after a military parade that ended in a military coup. So, tomorrow we will start assessing the smoothness of the course, but for now, since the whole quartet is assembled, we will arrange a bride.
How good is the new Honda... With bright "lenses" of LED headlights! Especially when there are sad ones around Teana and Camry... And our test Honda Accord was also adorned with an optional body kit - this is the so-called Style package, which includes the front and rear bumper skirts and door sills. But I would not go for such a Style: elegant, but impractical. Firstly, the "low plastic" significantly limits the geometric cross-country ability - the curb, which was playfully driven by three other cars, turned out to be insurmountable for Honda. And the additional elements are painted somehow handicraft: on a brand new car, with a mileage of just over five thousand kilometers, the stylish skirt under the front bumper is all chipped, although the bumper itself shines with intact paint.

Honda good but Mazda even more beautiful! Alluring animal plastic. So the people of Kiev are looking more and more at the "six". But enthusiasts, who were not too lazy to look into the salons, already preferred Honda. And we understand them! Before the driver's eyes - bright informative devices, in his hands - a pleasant-to-touch steering wheel, under his thumbs - convenient washers for controlling the "music" and cruise control. The center console has two color displays, the lower one being touch-sensitive, which makes it easier to control navigation and other multimedia pleasures. Nice, cozy and practical.

Mazda 6 we got it with a powerful engine, but not with the most "powerful" equipment: with fabric seat upholstery with mechanical adjustments and without navigation. But this did not darken the impression of excellent ergonomics! The seat is dense, perfectly fixing the body, and the steering wheel can even be called sporty - its diameter is one centimeter smaller than that of Toyota. The devices may not be as expressive as those of the Honda, but three deep wells are also sporty. Although everything is simple on the center console - the display of the media system is small, and the graphics are so-so.

Nissan and Toyota are already clearly behind the fashion, although both cars have keyless access and advanced multimedia systems with large displays. But lacquered plastic "wood" on Toyota - that hello from the nineties. From there is a simple monochrome display of climate control. A large-diameter steering wheel, as well as soft sofa-type seats, are for amateurs, to whom neither I nor my colleagues attributed themselves.

Even lower, we rated Teana's ergonomics - for uncomfortable seats with limited adjustment ranges. If your height exceeds 185 cm, then be prepared for “infringement of your rights”. However, drivers of average height were not delighted either: the seat cushion is short, and the backrest leaves the shoulders without proper support. Two or three hours behind the wheel - and the back begins to ache. Where are the seat heating buttons? They are safely hidden from the eyes by the center armrest cover! Getting to the buttons on the move is not easy, and even unsafe - you have to turn away from the road for two or three seconds.

But for those who are more "warm" by the prospect of being in the back seats, I would recommend Camry... Luxurious sofa with electrically adjustable backrests, there is "own" climate control and an audio system control panel. Nissan not so hospitable - the doors are smaller, the cabin is cramped, the buttons, like the front, are hidden under the uncomfortable armrest cover. But as compensation - not only the electric heating of the rear seats, but also ventilation through the perforated leather. Fresh sensations!

The space in the rear seats of the Honda is no less than in the Nissan, but the only additional convenience is electric heating. Not much. And most closely in the rear seats of Mazda, and entry-exit is more difficult. Consider, there are no additional amenities at all, and even the most expensive equipment will not change the position - just the seat upholstery will not be textile, but leather.

We certainly expected that Mazda 6 with 192 hp engine will be the fastest, but so that. Up to a hundred - only seven and a half seconds, and on winter tires! And it's not just about "horses", of which there are a dozen more than under the hoods of a Honda or Toyota. In Mazda, the "automatic" works noticeably faster, and the traction control system is tuned "in a combat way" - at the start, the front wheels squeak, and other cars start without a single hint of slipping, even with the traction control systems turned off. The dynamics are also good in quieter modes: Mazda more lively than others responds to gas, and acceleration is felt literally at the moment the pedal starts moving. And gear changes and related transients are compressed exactly to the point beyond which excessive sharpness would appear.

In second place in the "dynamic" standings - Honda... And even when accelerating to hundreds Accord barely "leaves" in ten seconds, but how convenient it is to manage this acceleration! And more active responses are needed - turn on the mode Sport. The most amazing thing is that even in the mode Econom Honda still responds adequately to the accelerator without unpleasant delays.

We have already praised the Nissan variator - and we will praise it again: good following "the pedal", a pleasant level of acceleration. But in a ragged city mode, when acceleration is often replaced by deceleration, the lack of a "linear" relationship between the increase in revs and the set of speed is sometimes confusing.

Unpleasantly surprised Toyota... According to our measurements, Camry gaining 100 km / h faster than Accord or Teana, but each overtaking left the feeling that the power Camry loses to them forces that way twenty. In response to pressing a tight pedal, the proper acceleration appears in a second or two. The delays in the accelerator drive are superimposed on the delays of the "automatic", and as a result - no joy from the acceleration control. And the sports mode does not solve the problems. It remains to be happy for the passengers: they will be comfortable even with a nervous driver.

However, Japanese motors are valued not so much for their temperament as for their reliability. We have already noted that if almost all European manufacturers switch to "small" turbo engines, the Japanese remain loyal to aspirated engines of a larger volume, which are reasonably considered more durable. And at the same time they are quite economical, if, of course, you trust not your passport data, but your wallet. On the way from Moscow to Kiev and back, he distinguished himself with the greatest appetite Nissan: on average 10.2 l / 100 km. But let's not forget about the all-wheel drive, which made the car heavier - the curb weight is 200 kg more than that of Mazda! The Camry took 9.2 l / 100 km. It turned out to be even more economical Honda - 7.8 l / 100 km. A Mazda? She did not participate in "long-range combat", but we specially laid a 100-kilometer route around Kiev and the outskirts, along which we drove Mazda and Honda. Bottom line: 6.5 liters per hundred versus Honda's eight liters. Works Mazda Skyactiv! True, it was somehow unstable - interruptions were felt at idle. Perhaps this is a flaw in a particular sample.

As soon as Mazda6 appeared in Russia, we compared it with the Volkswagen Passat CC (). The authors liked the spacious (compared to the competitor) Mazda6 sofa and the more "democratic" price. But she lost to the “German” in dynamics. It was about the 2 liter version, we advised readers to wait 2.5.

The next comparison took place in # 20 for 2013. Mazda6 with a 2.5-liter engine and a 6-range "automatic" we "folded" with the Honda Accord 2.4 with a 5-range automatic transmission. And Mazda won thanks to its expressive design, spacious interior, a set of advanced SkyActiv technologies and the same relatively affordable price.

Actually, Nissan Teana is the main hero of this test, since its third generation appeared on our market this year. The third-generation Mazda6 came out at the end of 2012, and we are already quite familiar with this car, we even conducted a couple of comparative tests, one of which involved a 2-liter 150-horsepower version, and the other - 2.5 (192 hp). ) with a 6-band "automatic", the same as now.

Mazda6 Supreme 2.5 (192 HP) 6АКП - 1,446,000 rubles. and Nissan Teana Premium 2.5 (172 HP) CVT - 1,348,000 rubles.

If we draw a general conclusion from previous meetings with Mazda6, it becomes clear that the Japanese did an excellent job, giving their "six" a striking design in the style of KODO ("spirit of movement"), significantly improving the interior in terms of volume, design and quality. finishes made the car much quieter and smoother in motion. And at the same time they also "stuffed" it with the latest units, united by the beautiful name SkyActiv. True, now it is not yet very clear how well and how long all this splendor will serve in harsh conditions (such as in some regions of our country).

Let's take a look at the Nissan Teana. This is also the third generation of the model, and the car was first shown abroad in the spring of last year in China, starting global sales with the PRC. The second in line was America, where the car began to be sold under the name Altima. The name Teana was assigned to the Russian market, setting the start of sales for February 2014.

Compared to the previous generation, the new Teana is 18mm longer, 35mm wider and 5mm lower on the same wheelbase. It is believed to have one of the most spacious interiors in its class. As for the power units, there are two engines in our market - 2.5 with 173 hp. and 3.5 to 249 hp, both petrol. Transmission - only with a variator. For a correct comparison with the Mazda6, we took the 2.5L version in the maximum configuration.

Looked

Despite belonging to the same class, these are completely different cars in design. The only thing that unites their appearance is their peculiar "faces", stretched silhouettes with drooping roofs and wide, but short "tails".

The new “six”, like the entire modern Mazda line, has a “face” with narrow shuttle-shaped headlights and a radiator grille with a negative angle of inclination. Very bright look! In keeping with corporate tradition, Mazda designers have emphasized the width of the wheel arches. They did not hesitate with the volume of the rear bumper, giving it "full-weight" rear lights of approximately the same shape as that of the head optics.

The parking brake in the Nissan Teana is activated and released with a pedal. This decision should flatter American car enthusiasts.

The Teana has an inverted trapezoid grille with stretched corners, and is also completely chrome-plated (some people like it). The headlights are closer to the triangle in shape, and the upper edges go strongly into the sidewalls. In the same way - on the sidewalls - the upper edges of the rear lights are "tightened". Visually comparing these cars, the difference in wheel caliber is striking. Our Mazda6 has 19 inches with 225 mm wide tires and 45 percent profile, Teana has only 17 inches with 215 mm tires and 55 percent profile. The first option looks, of course, much more advantageous. But the second is more practical.

Let's move on to the interiors. In Mazda, adherence to tradition is noticeable: a floor accelerator pedal, three "wells" of the instrument panel, a three-spoke steering wheel with a chubby central part, a handbrake moved to the driver's seat, red stitching on black leather (in our version) ... To new products of the third generation of the "six" we include the HDI controller mounted on the center console between the front seats, a large monitor in the center of the dashboard and a small on-board computer display on the dashboard, among other things, demonstrating the operation of the recuperation system. Global innovations - spacious interior front and rear and good quality plastics, including wood imitation.

The Teana's interior, like the exterior, gives the impression that Nissan's designers are determined not to remember the previous car. And I, for example, liked the seats with a deep groove in the center and the display recessed into the panel with a "synthesizer" of buttons under it ... and indeed the "straightness" of that salon. Here the panel is rounded, the display stands almost vertically, the buttons frame it. The instrument panel had three semicircular scales, now with two round ones and a display in the middle. What's better is the steering wheel. The former was visually overloaded with keys and not very comfortable to grip. The new one compares favorably - except that a fold of leather has formed on the right at the transition from the spoke to the rim, and the plastic coated with "aluminum" paint looks cheap, especially in combination with real metal. In general, the finishing materials in the car are of some heterogeneous quality - as if they were saving on them. And in the parking brake pedal "read" the pro-American orientation of the model.

Let's also look into the trunks. In Mazda6, it is too small for the class: it is not high, with the floor raised due to the spare wheel. And the bumper forms a high sill. I would like to praise the Teana trunk, which is impressive in depth, but it is also inconvenient when loading to the back of the rear sofa. By the way, the backrests in both cars are folded.

Ride

Once again, we note Mazda's improved sound insulation and increased ride comfort. But the "six" never turned into a limousine. She clearly holds the trajectory, resists road irregularities well, and the road itself “you feel with your fingers”. Suspension in Nissan is softer and more authentic than in Mazda, but with measured movement it is rather a blessing. And how spacious on the back sofa! It is also nice that the air conditioning system of the car has an air purification and even ionization mode. Remarks: the variator selector runs in a straight line, and instead of the usual "drive" you switch on the sport mode all the time. And you need to get used to the parking brake pedal.
