Choosing a used Opel Mokka. Frequent breakdowns, advantages and weaknesses of the Opel Mokka Mokka problems

Opel Mokka is a fairly compact crossover equipped with a lot of all kinds of electronics. The fuel consumption of the crossover is 11-12 liters per 100 km. To decide whether to buy such a car, you need to find out what are the shortcomings and shortcomings of the 2012 Opel Mokka.

Specifications

  • Engines: gasoline - 1.8 MT (140 HP), 1.8 AT (140 HP), 1.4 MT (140 HP), diesel - 1.7 L (130 HP). );
  • Transmission: 5- and 6-speed mechanics, 6-speed automatic;
  • Drive: full, front;
  • Maximum speed: 180, 195 km / h;
  • Acceleration to 100 km / h: 9.8 - 11.1 seconds;
  • Fuel consumption: in the city - 8-10.7 liters, on the highway - 5.5-6.3 liters per 100 km;
  • Fuel tank capacity: 54 l.

Opel Mokka advantages and benefits

  1. Comfortable salon with many functions;
  2. Beautiful stylish body and interior design;
  3. Controllability;
  4. Good engine traction dynamics;
  5. Ergonomics;
  6. Four-wheel drive;
  7. Reliable mechanical transmission;
  8. Affordable price;
  9. Low fuel consumption;
  10. Inexpensive service.

Weak points of the Opel Mokka:

  • Salon;
  • Hydraulic power steering;
  • Paintwork, chrome;
  • Pens;
  • Engine;
  • Windshield.

The salon is the weak link of the car. The quality of finishing materials is rather low. Scratches quickly appear on the plastic, after a few years the trim will peel off the steering wheel, the gear lever and steering column are loose. If the driver's weight exceeds 90 kg, the seat cushion will sag over time. Many people complain about condensation on top of the machine.

There are also shortcomings in electrical equipment. Often, with a run of 100 thousand km, problems arise with the operation of the heater motor, a backlash appears. The light sensor located on the rear-view mirrors is malfunctioning. A nearby video recorder has a negative effect on him.

The weak point of the air conditioner is the compressor bearings. They make a strange sound during operation. To fix the problem, you need to reflash the instrument panel.

The node is reliable enough, but still has sores. So, he does not tolerate severe frosts. This is due to its unfortunate location. The liquid in the unit practically does not warm up, which leads to rapid wear of the pump, the rack begins to flow. The steering wheel adjustment sensors malfunction.

Paintwork, chrome, handles.

The paint is unstable, scratches and chips quickly appear on it. Chromium-plated parts are also short-lived. If we talk about the weak points of a used Opel Mokka, we should also mention the rapid appearance of rust on the suspension elements and engine compartment mountings, which may no longer be in the best condition in a used car. The handles on the doors of the car are rather frail, they can even break if you apply too much force.

A fairly common sore of this crossover is the failure of the phase shifters. This happens, as a rule, due to the use of low-quality engine oil or its irregular replacement. Be sure to pay attention to the operation of the engine before buying a used car, otherwise repairs may soon be needed. Advice for all drivers: don't save on fuel with this car, it will only entail high costs.

Windshield.

Also, the crossover windshield is not famous for its reliability. It is weak, easily cracked.

The main disadvantages of the Opel Mokka:

  • Inconvenient armrests.
  • Poor visibility and distortion.
  • Front lip too low.
  • Incorrect operation of the machine.
  • Small trunk.

Inconvenient armrests

The first drawback that drivers may notice when sitting behind the wheel is the inability to position their elbows comfortably enough. Some owners of this car complain about this inconvenience - the left hand can be positioned either too high or too low, and the armrest under the right hand is only for the driver - the passenger has nowhere to put his left hand. But this drawback is quite controversial, it can rather be called a matter of habit.

Poor visibility and distortion

Distortion and poor visibility is another problem that can be adjusted over time, but it can get in the way at first. The "picture" is distorted by the shape of the glass. An even bigger problem is visibility. The interference to the right and rear is very poorly visible due to the C-pillar obstructing visibility. The interference sensor in the dead zone, which is present in the complete set of cars, can save the situation.

Front lip too low

Serious difficulties may arise in parking this car. The front lip on the bumper is lowered too low - even a low curb can become an obstacle. Such a small gap under the bumper also has a bad effect on flotation.

Incorrect operation of the machine, trunk

The machine periodically changes gear too abruptly or inappropriately. This usually happens during "vigorous" driving and difficult maneuvers. In the quiet ride mode, the machine copes with its task. A small trunk can also become a significant disadvantage when using this car.

Let's summarize.

This car, like any other, has its pros and cons. This car model was designed for a quiet ride in the city and for this it is quite suitable. With a "caring" attitude for travel from work to home, it will serve for a long time and reliably. If you are interested in high power, endurance and cross-country ability, this Opel is not suitable.

Frequent breakdowns, advantages and weaknesses of the Opel Mokka was last modified: November 20th, 2018 by Administrator

"I'd like to see an article about Opel Mokka, its petrol and diesel versions, transmission ..."

Opel Mokka has been produced since 2012; in the summer of 2015, SKD was set up at the enterprise. What is this car, we already. But, apparently, our reader is interested in Mokka already as a second-hand object, and here the main questions are reliability, maintainability, and so on.

To begin with, the German crossover is not so German: it is based on the Gamma II platform, which was developed by the engineers of the South Korean division of GM DAT, so that the Chevrolet Aveo is among the closest "relatives". And, of course, Mokka is seriously unified with other models of the GM concern, so that the motors and gearboxes used are already well known to specialists.

It is curious that the good old "aspirated" 1.6 (A / Z16XER) with 115 hp became the base for the European version, which can be considered a good option in terms of reliability, maintainability and cost of maintenance / repair. But it is even more surprising that this version is practically not found in our region, and all because another "veteran" was offered for the Russian market - a 1.8-liter 140-horsepower engine (A / Z18XER). For the relatively heavy Mokka, this option is even preferable in terms of power and torque. Although in terms of reliability, it is by no means infallible: a short-lived ignition module, faulty sensors, the current thermostat will not let the owner of the "beushka" relax. In addition, the engine is sensitive to the quality of the engine oil and the timing of its replacement. The savings can result in the failure of the phase shifters, and in the worst case, the occurrence of the piston rings will turn into an oil scraper.

An alternative to the aspirated engine is a 1.4-liter turbo engine (A / B14NET) of the same power, but with noticeably more torque (200 Nm versus 178). You can consider buying it, but when you find out the service history of a car that has just come out from under the first owner and company service, which means that its "biography" can be documented. It is known that the Russian owners of Opel with such an engine faced a lack of compression in one of the cylinders due to the destruction of the baffles in the piston due to detonation.

It is still difficult to say how widespread this problem is and what exactly is it caused by, the use of low-quality fuel, violation of operating rules or a design flaw in hardware or software, but such stories are at least an excuse to approach the diagnosis of the purchased car as responsibly as possible. By the way, last year the updated Mokka X received a new 1.4T version with direct injection and increased to 152 hp. power, but the experience of operating this engine has not yet been accumulated.

The same can be said about the all-aluminum "whispering diesel" 1.6 CDTI (B 16 DTH) with 110 and 136 hp, which has been installed on the Mokka only since 2015. It got its name because of the low level of noise and vibration, although it is also distinguished by its low declared fuel consumption - an average of 4.1 l / 100 km. But it is unlikely that now someone will take from Europe a 136-horsepower engine with urea injection, "sharpened" for Euro-6 standards ... Against this background, the 130-horsepower 1.7 CDTI (A 17 DTS) seems no longer so complicated and whimsical, although on well-traveled cars, you can encounter leaking seals, "vagaries" of the fuel system and EGR failures.

The atmospheric motors are equipped with a 5-speed "mechanics" D16. In fact, this is a derivative of the old and quite reliable F16 box. More powerful versions rely on a 6-speed M32 gearbox, designed for more torque. Both options can be considered successful and resourceful. However, an aggressive driving style puts a load on the differential and bearings, which can result in a problem for a 200 thousand km mileage (which is a good indicator in itself). But the clarity of the backstage will decrease with half the mileage.

The 6-speed automatic 6T40 developed by GM is not so hardy. Its early versions were considered problematic at all, but by the time Mokka entered the market, thanks to numerous upgrades, weak points (valve body, torque converter, overheating problems) were tightened. However, it is still better to give preference to copies released not earlier than 2014, thoroughly test the selected option before buying, and during operation avoid serious loads on the box, prevent it from overheating and change the oil and filter at least 50 thousand km.

But there is no need to fear the all-wheel drive transmission: the electronically controlled multi-plate Borg Warner clutch is quite reliable. Yes, and there is nowhere to "load" it: Mokka with its "parquet" ground clearance and low hanging bumper is not accustomed to even light off-road. Perhaps this is for the better: the easier it is for the transmission and chassis.

The suspension is structurally simple: in the front - McPherson, in the rear - a semi-independent suspension with a beam, and on all-wheel drive versions too! Another interesting nuance: the version with the 1.8 engine has a classic power steering, while the others have an electric one.

In general, if we start purely from the issues of reliability, maintainability and maintenance cost, it is better to give preference to the 1.8 petrol engine and manual transmission. But you should not be afraid of the 1.4 turbo engine, as well as the 1.7 CDTI turbodiesel. The main thing is to choose an examined copy. So the main risk factor is "automatic", and the new turbodiesel with AdBlue is difficult for our realities.

Recall campaigns

In Russia, Mokka was reviewed twice. The first campaign concerned cars sold in the Russian Federation from August 20, 2012 to December 19, 2014, 10,994 copies in total. Due to a possible defect in the front seat belt pretensioners, there was a risk of insufficiently secure body fixation at the time of the collision. The second recall included 122 cars sold in the Russian Federation from April to September 2013, in which there was a risk of overheating of the wiring due to a loose fastening nut.

Price pulse

As the analysis of offers shows, the market is dominated by gasoline versions of the Opel Mokka 2013-2015. with engines 1.8 and 1.4, as a rule, with front-wheel drive, every second - with "automatic". Prices range from $ 12,000 to $ 17,000, with an average price tag around $ 15,000.

Owner reviews

In general, the car is good, holds the road, stable, I like the design. My car drove 37,000 km and… let it down !!! On the way from Moscow to Belgorod, I stopped for tea, turned off the engine, and it did not start any more. The scoreboard says "Low engine power"! Brought home on a tow truck, and now there is a repair.

Also, one cannot fail to note the uncomfortable driver's seat - the side "wings" on the seat are not completely missed and press.

Sergey Kucherenko, a review about Opel Mokka 1.7 diesel (130 hp) AT 4WD 2014

Video review

The machine is not bad, but somehow DULL: it is impossible to disperse from a place if necessary. She first slows down, and then, THINKING, goes into mode. Therefore, if on the X-Trail of my husband I easily go around the tail of the cars and easily fit back into the stream, not being afraid of NOT HAPPENING to change lanes, then here you will think 10 times before deciding to overtake.

In general, the Mocca handles well, easily goes through all the turns on any road. At first I was afraid of this so-called INTELLIGENT all-wheel drive: the devil only knows, when it turns on - there is no information on the scoreboard. But, it seems, snowy roads pass decently at the dacha, however, it was not necessary to get out of the pits.

Comfortable fit, although the seat adjustment is awkward. A lot of space, the satellite on the right does not interfere. Very good forward visibility: due to the strong slope of the front of the machine, it seems that you begin to see the road directly from the front glass.

Very high gas mileage. I have considerable driving experience, I can drive economically. On the same X-Trail, I have an average consumption of 1.0-1.5 liters less, although the car is noticeably more powerful.

Arina Kovaleva, review of the Opel Mokka 1.8 (140 HP) AT 4WD 2013

At the moment I own a car for 3 months, mileage of 3,000 km. I will compare Mokka with the previous Sid and parent Mokka 1.8.

Engine: we live in a small town, it is not always possible to accelerate to 60 km / h, therefore it is hard to say about the consumption. When I go to the regional center (Volgograd), I get 12-13 liters of conder in traffic jams, if more or less on the roads, then if you wish, you can meet the top ten.

On the highway at a speed of 100-110 km / h, it shows 6.5-7.5 liters. On the parental consumption of 1.8, it's hard to say for sure, I don't drive much on it. I spotted only once, when I drove a car from the salon along the highway. At 100 km / h, Mokka with a 1.8-liter engine ate an average of 8.5 liters. The dynamics of the 1.4 are noticeably better, especially on the track.

The machine switches smoothly, without noticeable jerks. It sometimes dulls during active driving, especially when going downhill. In case of serious overtaking, when there is a long line of trucks, cars and the oncoming lane in dense traffic, you have to switch to manual mode. The location of the shift key is awkward.

Suspension. The suspension is moderately tough, it does not shake the soul. When you load your backside, a slight swing of the stern on the waves begins on the track. Of course, before the buildup of Solaris Mokke is far away, but still not very comfortable. Shock absorber breakdowns were never.

Salon. Already Sid's width is unambiguous. The three of us are very crowded behind, you won't go far. Similar in size to Solaris. My height is 183 cm, I sit down by myself perfectly, there is a lot of legroom in the back seat. There is enough overhead too.

Review of Opel Mokka 1.4 (140 hp) with automatic transmission 2013

Appearance. Well, here the taste and color, to each his own. I like. The color white was also taken deliberately - it seems to me that it is more suitable for this car.

Engine and automatic transmission. The mileage is now 1,700 km, the fuel consumption in a city with moderate traffic jams is 12 liters per 100 km. According to the BC, it can be seen that the consumption is falling, since the first hundred had 17 liters per 100 km. I like the work of the engine and automatic transmission as a pair, but I drive calmly, measuredly. I don't press the gas into the floor, I don't scoff at the car. With this driving style, there is a confident feeling that the power reserve is quite enough.

Salon. Here, of course, GM is great. Everything is convenient, everything is at hand. Landing is adjustable to suit any desire (you want it lower, you want it high). The seats are comfortable, even for me (height 188 cm, weight 120 kg). With all my dimensions, I am really comfortable. A son with a height of 180 cm rides behind me and does not feel any inconvenience either.

Suspension. Again, for an amateur. I would like a little softer, but then you need to put the 16th wheels, and there is no desire to change the appearance. But on the move the car is good, it does not fall down in turns, the unevenness of the road passes well. I haven't felt the all-wheel drive yet, but its device is the same as on the Antara, which means that's enough for me.

Ergonomics. The climate works without glitches and performs its functions perfectly. Everything is at hand and is exactly where you expect it. On-board computer - you need to figure it out until it is necessary. The standard audio system is enough for me.

The overview is great. I love the high seating position, so the seat is set high. The racks don't really bother me. But it is not very convenient to look back (small rear window), but here the experience of driving different cars helps, after all, 23 years of experience.

The owner drives an Opel Mokka 1.8 (140 HP) AT 4WD 2014.

For three years we have driven 80,000 km along the roads of Russia: from Karelia to Baikal. It's okay for now. Passed all THAT. There are almost no problems. It rolls well, is stable (even in winter) and dynamic. Great car for traveling across the vastness of Russia. Moreover, it is quite economical. On the highway, 8 liters per hundred at 140 km / h.

The interior is warm and well ventilated. The headlights are normal and well adjustable. Interior lighting and lighting of instruments and buttons are sufficient. Six speakers are more than enough for a small body. The seats are comfortable for any size, heating is pleasant and necessary for the cold weather of the Urals. Starts up in any frost, though I have auto heating.

There are also disadvantages, namely: fabric door trim (they get dirty), a low-hanging front bumper (there were problems on Olkhon Island on Lake Baikal) and weak protection under the front bumper, which was already bursting all over from falling stones and collisions on solid crust. The car is clearly designed for a normal road.

The trunk is small, but there are many different pockets and compartments for small things. In the first autumn, when warming up, the windshield cracked.

Review of Opel Mokka 1.8 (140 HP) with mechanics 2014

The main positive feature of the new crossover is the price. Compared to competitors, it is significantly lower. Plus advanced electronics, which has in its repertoire many functions and systems to aid movement and control. The on-board computer is also multifunctional. Comfort is also pleasing, you just have to look at the photo of the salon in the Enjoy package. If we talk about spaciousness, then here you will be pleasantly surprised. Despite the fact that the Opel Mokka is a compact car, it can easily accommodate 5 people, and everyone feels comfortable and comfortable. Add to all this exclusive options and economical engines with low fuel consumption - about 7-8 liters on average per 100 km in mixed mode. And the last thing is the design, the car looks very nice.

The Opel Mokka also has disadvantages, the car is certainly not perfect. Well, it should be said about the engines, petrol ones are available to us: a turbocharged 1.4 liters and a regular 1.8 liters. One 1.7 liter diesel engine is also available. But it is well known that Opel has many more interesting engines that the buyer could like. Not the biggest trunk and another not nice feature: a noisy diesel engine. Another quite important minus is the front lip of the Opel Mokka, it is quite underestimated.

We see that there is much more positive than negative. But, again, everyone decides for himself.

    Car Turbo front-wheel drive 1.4, mileage 26000 engine SDOH !!! The engine and directional stability sensors lit up, the compression in the 2 cylinders of the coil fell ... The car was operated only in city mode. In general, a good car, but do you need such a headache ?! Still under warranty, but the service center is thinking how to do it .. There are no replacement machines !!

    Bought 1.4 Turbo front wheel drive. In August, with a mileage of 2700 km, we drove through all of Kazakhstan (MRAK roads) to Kyrgyzstan, to Lake Issyk-Kul. In short, there and back 9500 km. A couple of times, the Kakhahs fell into serious holes. If only henna ... The suspension is super, nothing and never. Convenient, economical, well-controlled machine. I drive an e-class Mercedes, I thought that in Opel I would not feel so comfortable. In short, the machine is class! Take it, do not hesitate.

    2015-09-14T17: 12: 08 + 00: 00

    Ha, diesel is noisy? What nonsense! The A17DTS (diesel) is quieter than the D18FA (A19XER clone), at least in motion. The diesel engine can gurgle a little at an ultra-low speed of 800-1000 if you press the gas on the pedal, but after 1100 rpm you can no longer hear it (from the passenger compartment).

    Never buy a car from an Armand dealer. The manager Victor, a salon in Vladykino, confronted the fact that I would pick up the car without PTS when I brought the cash. PTS was promised to be delivered in 2 days. When asked how I would drive without a PTS, Victor said that I would have a purchase and sale agreement ... As a result, for the fact that they did not fulfill their part of the contract to give me the car when I paid for it, they also took from me 20 % of the initial deposit. Complete divorce. The bosses also drive test drive cars home during the working hours of the salon.

    In all-wheel drive versions of the Mokki, a 4x4 nameplate is attached to the tailgate, which misleads people. Must be AWD.

    do not take Opel in armand city dealers, they fucking scary and bred. if you are servicing, be sure to double-check.

    bought on May 26, 2013, a complete set of cosmo, mileage 10500, problems were identified: the right headlight did not work 8 times, they reflashed it to the 9th under warranty, at the first MOT, it turned out that the oil in the rear axle, antifreeze and brakes were not added. Referred to the manufacturer. Be sure to check. The chrome began to peel off on the foglights, changed under warranty, a disease was detected, the problem is the chrome edging falls off, weak clamps. Low front skirt, clings to everything. I do not recommend driving on a dirt road. : cry:

    People! Anyone who has two. 1800 - there is a problem with the power steering. In winter, there is a possibility of breakage of the plastic pipe (breaks off from the housing) on \u200b\u200bthe pump housing, as a result of which liquid flows out and the power steering stops working. Cases are not isolated - this is a WARRANTY !!! I know, I worked on acceptance at the service station DC Opel. I quote Reseda:

    Addition. Mokka is already in the North. Minus 52 degrees, behaves with dignity. I put the climate control at 18, as my wife is hot (after the tag). But the mechanics have a minus in cold weather.

    Bought from OD in Moscow - Cosmo, mechanic. I drove half of Russia to Krasnoyarsk, then to Kazakhstan and back to Krasnoyarsk. No problem. I couldn't get enough of it. For two weeks 10t.km. class. Driven Mokka to the North. Autumn, blizzard, snow drifts. He skidded, as much snow flew to the roof. Already 11,600 km., I don't know any problems.

    Hello. In January we became the proud owners of a brand new Opel Mokka. Joy knew no bounds until today. I drove to work this morning and found a strange whistle in the engine. I thought the car hadn't warmed up. During parking, the wheels began to creak strangely and the steering wheel somehow did not obey me. I thought it seemed. Then, at the turn, the steering wheel turned very hard and it vibrated, smoke went further, I stopped and saw a red liquid. Friends said the problem with the power steering. Now my car is waiting for a tow truck for examination. So much for a new car, 1300 mileage in total. It's a shame, but it seemed there would be no problems.

    I bought Mokka on December 7, during this time I dashed off 10,000 km, I'm very happy, the price for such a configuration is Enjoy, it's just a gift! pleasant, but in general so much useful and, as it turned out, so necessary in this car that the price-quality is probably very difficult to overestimate and find something like that !!! At first, there were failures during automatic switching between near-far, but somehow it resolved itself, But in general, I am very pleased, considering that before this year I skated on the Nissan Tiida, where many jambs were revealed, Mokka-class !!! : P: P: lol:

    The car is really good, it costs the money, for our roads and taxes we need a high, passable and economical car! And if you are a fisherman, then take some kind of frame and climb up the city!

Opel has never liked SUVs, although there have been off-road models in the production range at different times. But these were mostly Isuzu clones adapted for European consumers, and the "Korean" Antara in later times. But sales were frankly sluggish, and even in Russia, Opel SUVs were not held in high esteem.

The company clearly ignored the "crossover boom" of the early 2000s. Antara came out only in 2006, when the absence of such a car in the model range became simply indecent, and the shift in demand from minivans and station wagons to “city SUVs” was quite obvious. Therefore, the appearance in 2012 of the Opel Mokka can only be called a miracle.

By this time, the company's lineup of "non-global" cars remained made. All other models were produced in the USA and China under different brands and names. The company became very much like an assembler, although as it turns out now, Opel remained the leading model developer. Their developments became "worldwide", including work on improving small-class motors. Be that as it may, from the entire wealth of GM models, nothing particularly fell to Opel. A logical step would be to create something all-wheel drive based on the Corsa D, since the SCCS modular platform had such capabilities, but further cooperation with the Italians was curtailed: the costs were considered too high.

But here at GM "generous" and gave the Europeans the latest development based on the GM Gamma II / GM 4300 platform, on which the second generation Aveo was already being produced by that time. It was predicted that the same platform will become the base of the new Corsa E. But the "new" Corsa E turned out to be only a deep restyling of the old one, and the Opel Mokka remained the only car on the new platform of a special small class from GM. After the purchase of Opel by the French and the appearance of plans for "localization", most likely, the car does not have a great future.

In Russia, the new small crossover was received with caution. Outwardly, it looked great, the salon delighted potential buyers, but it was small. And besides, the car turned out to be very expensive, much more expensive than the mega-popular Duster. Off-road capabilities were also in doubt: despite the optional all-wheel drive, the cars did not please cross-country ability. And this is not surprising: the ground clearance is 190 mm only according to the passport, but in practice only 156 mm is gained under the front bumper, and the clearance does not even reach 170 mm in the gas tank. According to the Asian tradition, the rear axle drive clutch turned out to be purely electromagnetic, which means it was extremely weak. So any off-road trip threatened with serious losses.

The combination of motors and transmissions in Mokk is very peculiar. With all-wheel drive, "automatic" relied only on the version with a 1.8 liter engine, which is very expensive and at the same time not fast. But the quite high-spirited 1.4 Turbo automatic transmission was issued only complete with front-wheel drive. Well, the basic version with a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engine was never delivered to us: its release was postponed and postponed, and then Opel left the Russian market. The presence on sale of a certain number of cars with these engines, and even with automatic transmissions, looks somewhat strange: officially Opel does not know anything about such options.

In terms of comfort, the small SUV lagged far behind the Astra J, it did not really drive off-road, it cost a lot ... But, nevertheless, sales grew until the cars stopped supplying to our market. Maybe the Opel Mokka is a really good car?

Body

The cars are still quite new, so it's too early to talk about any dangerous corrosion. Today, only the edge of the hood may be in the risk zone: it is ordinary steel here, and if it is not tinted in time, it rusts well. It is worth paying attention to the hidden attachment points of the plastic "body kit", and the location of the front clips in the front fender is especially affected. Swelling of paint suggests that in another five years, decent local destruction can be expected. In the meantime, just wash the joints of plastic and metal from road sand more often.

Pay attention to the cleaning of the drains of the above-engine niche: the water drain holes are small and easily clogged. All obvious traces of corrosion here are most likely due to poor-quality repairs or lack thereof after minor accidents.

Windshield

price for original

42 940 rubles

The exposed metal of the side parts begins to rust only a year later after damage to the paintwork, this provokes many not to pay attention to such "kotski". Moreover, for many Mokka is a "jeep-type", and they eagerly climb on it into the mud and forest paths, and this provokes the appearance of numerous damage to the paintwork. Which is already thin and is not particularly durable. With a low clearance, at the same time, the internal cavities of the side members are heavily contaminated, which also does not benefit the structure.

A very weak windshield is prone to cracking, but that's half the problem. The price of the original ranges from 33,000 rubles to 45,000, which is a bit too big for the part of questionable quality. Fortunately, XYG and AGC have relatively inexpensive alternatives. And until recently, Mokka was a frequent visitor to custom-made windshield workshops. The price of a customized one is about 10 thousand rubles, and "china" was more expensive - apparently, taking into account the price of the original.

Front bumper

price for original

12 122 rubles

The bumpers are well done, and the price of even the original parts is not so shocking. But you need to be able to choose them: other versions cost under 50 thousand per element, and there are no Chinese analogues.

The optics are quite decent and inexpensive, but without the AFL adaptive lighting system. The price of headlights with the latter "bites", and the car adds a headache in the form of body level sensors at a price of 6-8 thousand rubles.

Door handles may break, and it is not the electronic filling that breaks down, as is usually the case, but the mechanics. Especially often, such troubles happen in cold weather, but for strong and courageous people, the doorknob can easily remain in their hands. For example, if they forgot to unlock the alarm.

The chrome trim on the tailgate and radiator grille are also not particularly durable. After several years of operation in Moscow, they must either be changed or covered with film. Well, or painting it "matte" is also a very popular solution. The appearance even benefits from this.

Unfortunately, the elements of the suspensions and engine compartment fasteners rust completely ugly, so anti-corrosion measures are highly recommended for the car. Korean engineering is not the best suited for European, let alone Russian, winter. If you do not want to spend too much on repairs, then take care of treating the bottom and all suspension elements with anti-corrosion compounds.

Salon

The car interior looks like a little fairy tale. Small is about size. No miracle happened: it's hard to make a spacious interior in a cramped body. However, the front is quite comfortable, except that the "feeling of elbow" is a little in the way. But riding alone is generally excellent, just a car for an egoist, although there are five seats here.

Five people will really fit here, but if these people are big men over a meter eighty and weighing over a hundred kilograms, then they will be very bad here. And the car will "stand on the buffer": the rear suspension travel is not enough. But five miniature young ladies with children will travel comfortably.

But here it is beautiful, and the many buttons, good finishing materials and excellent color displays of the multimedia system give the impression of "expensive and rich". Ergonomics, though inferior to Volkswagen, but still very good.

However, don't rely on premium silence. Here the panels creak a little, and there are plenty of sounds from the road: the car was deprived of sound insulation.

The quality of the interior is lame in places. For example, seats with "eco-leather" upholstery deform even with less than 50 thousand mileage, and under a light driver too. The skin of the backrest and cushion tends to tear. If the driver is noticeably larger than average, then damage to the seat frame is also possible.

The steering wheel is made somewhat better - in any case, it can easily withstand even one and a half hundred thousand mileage. The leather upholstery holds up perfectly, but the plastic on cheap trim levels becomes greasy and, if handled carelessly, is prone to scratching.

The gear shift lever on cars with manual transmission looses over time, but fortunately, this defect does not require serious repair, it is enough to remove the top plate and tighten the mounting bolt.

Small risks are associated with the operation of the steering column switch block and the failure of the climate system.

Another disaster awaits from above - this is condensation from the roof, which appears in winter. It accumulates in the ceiling lights and can suddenly "spill" on the feet of the driver and passenger.

In general, problems are rare and are often caused by extreme harsh treatment. Due to the age of the cars, no other defects appear, the interior equipment is kept well.

Electrician

The electrical equipment of the Opel Mokka, unfortunately, even at this age can cause some amount of trouble.

The generator resource often does not exceed 100-150 thousand kilometers, and this is not a very good indicator. The current collector brushes and bearings fail, more serious troubles are rare.

The charging system has a battery current sensor. Service specialists often do not put it in place, as a result of which the system operates in an undercharge mode, and the battery life drops dramatically. The chances of staying in the winter with a dead battery in the car are quite high.

Front wheel ABS sensors and body level sensors on cars with AFL are also "consumables", and level sensors are very expensive, and often fail when the mileage is less than 50 thousand. And there are no non-original ones. Therefore, remember: any trip through deep puddles or along branches can lead to the failure of a part at a price of 6-8 thousand rubles.

The ignition module for gasoline engines is another common problem. Weak spark plug tips pierce, and services usually do not bother with the selection of a repair kit and prescribe to change an expensive part. And the coils themselves fail after a run of 60 or more thousand kilometers. Most often because no one thinks to change the candles. If your 16,000 are not superfluous, then do not forget to check the condition of the spark plugs, if necessary, put new ones and check the condition of the ignition module tips. And remember: any problems with the stability of the engine at idle speed before a thorough diagnosis should be attributed specifically to the problems of the ignition system.

This not too blissful picture will end with a low resource of radiator electric fans. Already after hundreds of thousands there are backlashes, and after one and a half hundred thousand traffic through traffic jams, they almost certainly have a collapsing bearing.

As a result, it is impossible to say that the electrical system is absolutely reliable. And some design features can cause inconvenience. An example is the AFL light sensor in the center rearview mirror housing. The location of the DVR or radar detector with an angle of about 170 degrees from the sensor causes malfunctions in the adaptive lighting system, and this is exactly where you want to place such devices.

The multimedia system and the dashboard provoke some changes. The dashboard is usually re-flashed to ensure that the automatic transmission oil temperature and battery charge are displayed, for which Buick firmware is installed.

Brakes, suspension and steering

At first glance, the braking system of the car is made with a good margin. In any case, the front 300 mm brake discs for such a compact car seem even redundant, and this is a guarantee of low thermal load on the calipers and a high resource of elements. But in practice, the brakes frustrate with the creaking of the pads, the not very reliable operation of the handbrake mechanism and the cost of parts. If the brake pads are placed neatly, cleaning the surface of the cylinder and allowing the pad to glue, with the correct installation of the anti-squeak plates, lubrication of the brake hoses, installing new caps on them, lubricating the caliper fingers, then the brake system does not cause any particular complaints. The resource of the disks is very good, more than a hundred thousand mileage, and the pads are moderate - up to 30-50 thousand.

The car's suspension seems simple and cheap. But here the peculiarity of the latest Opel models sums up: the levers are officially supplied only assembled, and the choice of silent blocks is very limited, and not by the best brands. It's good that at least the ball joint changes separately.

The rear beam also has its own trick. On all-wheel drive cars, there is the same beam, but a slightly different shape. And its silent blocks also do not officially change, although the parts themselves even have catalog numbers. And here, too, it will not work to deliver good quality parts.

Fortunately, the resource of all suspension elements, except for ball joints, stabilizer struts and shock absorbers, is quite decent, at least hundreds of thousands of kilometers.

Particular attention should be paid to ball joints: after 30 thousand they can play great, but replacement is not expensive, and there are good non-original parts on sale.

Spherical bearing

price for original

1,301 rubles

The service life of wheel bearings is just as short. Under warranty, the hubs were often changed even with lower mileage. The problem is in using very heavy rubber with a long overhang (for all meticulous readers - the numerical value of the overhang in this case just decreases), and the car itself turned out to be heavy and powerful. And the suspension is designed to carry the weight of something like an Aveo with small wheels.

The steering of most cars with a 1.8 liter engine is with a conventional power steering. It works quite reliably if the fluid in the system is replaced at least after 60-100 thousand mileage. If not, the pump will remind you of the need for replacement by howling. In cold weather, you need to be extremely careful with taxiing: the liquid almost does not warm up, and the rails flow very easily.

Cars of the first years of production, all versions with a 1.4-liter engine, diesel engines and all imported European cars are equipped with an electric power steering, which turned out to be somewhat more capricious. It does not have a very stable steering wheel position sensor, and the connectors on the power module itself are rather weak - they can burn out or just get warm.

Let's sum up the preliminary results: nothing criminal in the Opel Mokka And we haven't found anything yet. Partly due to the relatively young age of these machines. Or maybe they really turned out well. To understand this issue will become, after a detailed review of all the advantages and disadvantages of motors and transmissions.
