True, quite together with all this, rather modest angles of entry and exit are observed - only 17 and 21 degrees, respectively.

With all this, the venza is capable of carrying up to 480 kg of cargo. In addition, it is allowed to drive with a trailer weighing up to one and a half tons.

  • the ability to access the car without a key is offered;
  • the engine is started and stopped using the button;
  • the package includes an electric boot drive;
  • the music system is already equipped with 8 speakers, there is also a subwoofer;
  • there is a rear view camera;
  • finally, the equipment includes a navigation system.

It is worth noting that each configuration provides as an option the possibility of a mother-of-pearl painting of the body.It is interesting that such a painting has become available exclusively in our market. At home, in America, venza is usually painted in matte colors, without gloss and glare.

Car cost

The price of a Toyota Venza differs depending on the configuration. So, a buyer of a car in the Elegance version will need 1,570,000 rubles, and Elegance Plus will cost a little more: the same “plus” adds another hundred thousand rubles to the cost, giving a result of 1,671,000 rubles. The richest configuration - "Prestige" - will cost 1,776,000 rubles.

Whether the 2013 toyota venza model will be available - the technical characteristics of which are more powerful, and therefore, the cost is different, is still unknown. Let's just note that true fans of Toyota are waiting for such a modification.

Design

To begin with, the Venza is the first 100% stand-alone project of the North American division of Toyota and was originally created for the US market, and this is one of the reasons why it looks unusual, especially in our country. The tastes of the American motorist are somewhat different, as are the views on life, in connection with which the "overseas" version, for example, is devoid of a full-size spare tire. The developers are wondering why the car needs a huge and uncomfortable spare wheel, which only takes up space in the trunk in vain, because in the event of a tire puncture, you can use a special gel, and if the wheel is seriously damaged, then call a tow truck? What can I say, the difference in mentality makes itself felt. The Russian version has at least a stowaway ...


You don't have to look at the Venza photo for a long time to understand that we are talking about some kind of hybrid (in terms of design) car for traveling with family and friends. A big family car is so American! The "orientation" of the model is evidenced not only by its large dimensions, coupled with solid ground clearance and the corresponding equipment, but also by the wheels with a diameter of 19 inches, which can easily cope with considerable potholes, as well as tall wide doors, which greatly simplify the process of boarding and disembarking passengers, and also a huge trunk volume of 975 liters. After folding the rear seats, the volume of cargo space becomes simply space - 1987 liters! The refrigerator will fit, at least.

Design

The Venza is based on the Toyota K chassis, borrowed from the Camry - with McPherson-type suspensions at the front and rear. Front and rear disc brakes. Four-wheel drive (not in all trim levels) - plug-in, with an electronic-mechanical clutch in the rear wheel drive. The transmission of torque back occurs both in the event of a slipping of the front axle and when cornering, which is done to improve handling.

Adaptation to Russian conditions

Unlike the American version, the Russian version of the Venza received a softer suspension, with different settings, and a stowaway, which is stored underground in the trunk. There is a four-wheel drive in combination with a high ground clearance, but, despite this, it is not worth getting out on the very harsh Russian off-road: the passability is noticeably limited due to the large overhangs. In addition, there is excellent sound insulation, multi-level heated seats in the first row, heated windshield in the wiper rest zone, as well as heated side electric mirrors, air ducts for the rear passengers' feet and dual-zone climate control, available even in the initial configuration. For complete happiness, only the steering wheel heating is not enough, but you have to put up with this.

Comfort

Considering that Venza appeared in Russia in 2013, and for the first time it appeared before the general public back in 2008, you cannot call it an innovative crossover, as the manufacturer positions it. Outside the age of the model is not perceptible, but inside ... The build quality and ergonomics are excellent, but the design is older than necessary. If, for example, in 2008 the simple color display on the center console did not surprise anyone, today sophisticated motorists want to see something more "advanced". Now Venza with its miniature screen and far from excellent clarity looks "old man". In addition, there is inappropriate hard plastic in the cabin - in other words, here is the interior of a standard Toyota from the beginning of the 21st century. The dashboard looks quite original due to the use of the proprietary 60:60 concept, which makes the driver and passenger feel as if they have been allocated 60 percent of separate space. The impression of the external appearance of the dashboard is spoiled only by a simple, but very informative instrument cluster with knobs.


There is enough space for storing small items in the cabin, including a voluminous glove compartment, a sliding compartment in the central tunnel with a pair of cupholders of different sizes and an oblong niche, ideal for a smartphone. The climate control unit in the lower part of the center console is responsible for creating optimal climatic conditions - its layout is a little illogical, and the seat heating controls located under it seem alien, as if they were inserted after the car was released. The profile of the seats in the front row is designed for people of all sizes. The range of electric adjustments is wide: the driver's seat has 8 directions, and the front passenger seat has 4 directions. Regardless of the configuration, the upholstery of the seats and steering wheel is leather. The steering wheel is multifunctional, with buttons for controlling audio equipment.


The Venza comes standard with at least 7 airbags, including a pair of front and side airbags, curtains and a knee airbag for the driver. Also in the list of basic equipment are rear parking sensors, anti-lock braking system (ABS), brake force distribution (EBD), cruise control, traction control (Trac), directional stability system (VSC) and hill start assistant (HAC) ... Front parking sensors are a privilege of the top version.


The base Venza is equipped with a multimedia complex with a 6.1-inch color screen, built-in radio tape recorder and 6 speakers, AUX / USB-connectors and Bluetooth for connecting mobile devices. The top variant is complemented by the JBL premium audio system with 13 speakers and voice control. With the help of “multimedia” with the function of voice commands, you can make phone calls and listen to your favorite music without distraction from driving.

At the International New York Auto Show in April 2012, the premiere of the restyled off-road vehicle took place: the main changes affected the exterior and equipment, while the technical "filling" remained intact. In the United States, car sales stopped in 2015, and at the beginning of 2016 he “said goodbye” to the Russian market, “surviving” only in Canada and China.

Outside, Toyota Venza looks very distinctive - borrowings from different segments can be traced in its appearance: long overhangs and solid ground clearance are clearly inherited from crossovers, and a squat silhouette with a low roofline evokes associations either with minivans or with station wagons. The appearance of the car is unusual, but quite attractive to itself, and its impressive dimensions add solidity to it.

The body of the restyled "Venza" is stretched in length by 4833 mm, of which the gap between the axles extends by 2775 mm, its height is 1610 mm, and the width does not go beyond 1905 mm. The ground clearance of the off-road vehicle in the equipped form fits into 205 mm.

The interior of Toyota Venza does not indulge in design delights, but it looks nice, modern and original, which is only the center console from the point of view of the combination of forms: it houses a color display, an unusual-looking "microclimate" unit and an automatic transmission lever. True, against its background, the dashboard and three-spoke steering wheel are perceived as somewhat simple, although they do not stand out from the general concept. In the interior of the car, inexpensive finishing materials are used, but it is assembled conscientiously.

One of the advantages of the crossover is the interior space: there is plenty of free space in both rows, regardless of the height of the riders. The front seats are equipped with comfortable armchairs with indistinct lateral support, but with a wide range of adjustments, and on the “gallery” there is a three-seater sofa with a hospitable profile.

The trunk of the Toyota Venza is impressive in its scope - 957 liters in the "stowed" state. The second row of seats is compared to the floor by two unequal sections, which increases the volume of the "hold" to 1987 liters. In the "cellar" there is only a "dokatka" hiding.

Specifications. Officially, the five-door was delivered to the Russian market with a single gasoline engine - an aluminum four-cylinder "aspirated" 1AR-FE with a volume of 2.7 liters with a variable-length intake manifold, a variable valve timing system, distributed injection and an intelligent electronic throttle valve. It produces 185 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 247 Nm of peak torque at 4200 rpm.

Together with the engine, a 6-speed "automatic" and a front-wheel drive transmission or an all-wheel drive technology with an electromechanical clutch in the rear wheel drive, which throws traction back not only when the front axle is slipping, but also in turns, work.

Regardless of the modification, the car "covers" the first three-digit number on the speedometer after 9.4 seconds and accelerates to a maximum of 180 km / h. In the combined driving mode, the SUV "drinks" from 9.4 to 10 liters for every "hundred" of the run.

In other markets, "Venza" is also presented with a petrol V-shaped "six" with a volume of 3.5 liters, the potential of which has 268 "stallions" at 6200 rpm and 334 Nm of available torque at 4700 rpm.

At the heart of the car is the platform "Toyota K", which implies the transverse placement of the engine, and the "skeleton" of its body is distinguished by the wide use of high-strength types of steel. The suspension of the five-door is completely independent - MacPherson struts, lateral stabilizers, steel springs and gas-filled shock absorbers are used "in a circle".
As a standard, the off-road vehicle "flaunts" a steering system with a rack and pinion gear and an electric power steering. The wheels of the front axle of the car accommodate ventilated disc brakes, and in the rear, the usual "pancakes" are used.

Options and prices. The deliveries of the restyled Toyota Venza to Russia were discontinued at the beginning of 2016 due to low demand, and in January 2017 this crossover can be purchased in the secondary market at a price of ~ 1.6 million rubles (± 200 thousand, depending on the condition of the car).
The car is equipped with: seven airbags, leather interior, 19-inch wheels, ESP, ABS, dual-zone "climate", front and rear parking sensors, multimedia system, electric boot lid, engine start from a button, bi-xenon headlights, light sensors and rain, heated front seats and an audio system. In addition, the "base" includes cruise control, a monitoring system for "blind" zones, the function of help when starting up the hill and a bunch of other modern "bells and whistles".

On the hierarchical model ladder of the Japanese manufacturer, the Toyota Venza ranks one step lower than the Highlander and is a direct competitor to another Japanese crossover, the Honda Crosstour. Both of these cars are a versatile solution for a family man who prefers an active lifestyle, but not at the expense of comfort and speed.

The second generation Toyota Venza received an updated radiator grille, consisting of three massive curved horizontally oriented fins. Above it, in the manner of Skoda cars, the manufacturer's logo is located, forming a small beak on the hood. The headlights are elongated and look quite stylish. Also, they can boast of lensed optics and a garland of daytime running lights.
