Sales of the new generation of the Audi Q3 SUV started in the European market in November 2018 price from 30-31 thousand euros (Audi Q3 35 TFSI with a petrol 150-horsepower engine, 6 manual transmissions and front-wheel drive), which is identical to the cost of its predecessor - offered in Germany at a price of 30,800 euros.

In Russia, the second-generation compact crossover Audi Q3 will appear in the showrooms of the official dealers of the German company in early 2019. The price of the novelty has not yet been announced, but preliminary it can be said that the cost of the new generation of the SUV starts at more than 2 million rubles (the previous generation Ku3 is offered at least 2020 thousand rubles).

The five-seater cabin of the compact crossover Audi Q3 welcomes the driver and passengers with a noticeably large margin of space compared to its predecessor, high-quality materials and a fantastic set of super modern equipment and advanced options.

Let's start with the trunk of the novelty, which allows counting on a useful volume of 530-675 liters even if there are passengers in the rear seats. Such a wide range of roominess is provided by the rear seats, which move along the passenger compartment by 150 mm. If you want more comfort for passengers - move the seats all the way back, you need to carry more luggage - move the seats forward. The maximum usable luggage compartment volume with the rear seat backrests folded is 1,525 liters.

The salon of the new generation Audi Ku3 is a kind of digital world. In the presence of a virtual instrument panel even in the basic configuration with a 10.25-inch display (for a surcharge, the screen diagonal is already 12.3-inches), an advanced multimedia complex MMI with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hotspot and LTE, Google Earth navigation and DAB radio, as well as support for the myAudi app (8.8 "multimedia screen as standard, 10.1" display for an additional charge). By the way, the center console is turned towards the driver by 10 degrees.

Further, even more pleasant features: ambient LED interior lighting (a choice of 30 shades of glow), 15-channel Bang & Olufsen Premium audio system (680 watts), heated front and rear seats, as well as steering wheel rims, air conditioning or dual-zone climate control, panoramic roof, regular or sports seats, rear-view camera and all-round vision system, advanced valet parking, standard frontal collision avoidance system. As an option, adaptive cruise control is able to control the distance even when driving in traffic jams and follow the lane markings.

It remains only to add that the choice of buyers provides three options for interior trim Base, Audi design selection and S line. The latter two will delight the combined trim of the seats, front panel and armrests in leather and faux suede Alcantara.

The future crossover will have a rich engine range at its disposal, which will offer both diesel and gasoline versions.

The basic version of the model will get a turbocharged gasoline power unit with a working capacity of 1.4 liters and a maximum power of 150 hp More "advanced" configurations will be equipped with two-liter engines with a capacity of 190 and 230 hp.

All versions of the Q3 2018 will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission or an automatic seven-speed dual-clutch version.

"Top" variants of the crossover, characterized by increased performance and power, will receive the designation Audi SQ3 and RSQ3 2018, for the movement of which will be responsible for 280-horsepower and 400-horsepower power units, respectively. The new Q3 will accelerate to one hundred kilometers per hour in 4.3 seconds. The maximum speed of the car is declared at 270 km / h.

The company's plans include a partial transfer of the car to electricity, as a result of which its hybrid modification will appear. This is not news, as there is a real hype for hybrid cars in the Chinese market, which has become a practical core for Audi. This variation can be offered with a 2.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine.

Impression... The first generation Q3 has served its time with faith and truth. The model was presented in 2011, three years later it underwent. But today it is no longer able to keep up with younger opponents - not in terms of driving qualities, but in relation to the electronic filling. And here the "jackpot" of the 2019 model year radically changes the balance of power.

Just look at the interior: even in the basic version, the Q3 has said goodbye to analog instruments and offers a 10.25-inch screen as part of the Audi Virtual Cocpit system. The center console has a 10.1-inch touchscreen. All this can be controlled from the steering wheel or by voice commands.

Access to the network is organized according to the LTE Advanced standard, navigation MMI navigation plus builds routes and provides related information based on previous trips. The myAudi app for the smartphone allows, among other things, to remotely unlock and lock the car, warm up the interior and find the car in the parking lot.

Naturally, a whole range of driver assistants is also offered. It is adaptive cruise assist, combining adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and traffic jam assist. The standard equipment in Europe is pre sense basic and pre sense front systems, in the event of a collision with a pedestrian, motorcyclist or car, activating emergency braking. Naturally, park assist is proposed, which is able to park the Q3 in parallel and perpendicular.

Fortunately, there is no hardware lost behind this endless list.

From a purely human point of view, I like Q3 more. The car became longer and wider, but most importantly, the wheelbase was extended by 77 mm. So even tall passengers now sit quietly in the back row, since the seats move in the longitudinal direction in the range of 150 mm.

Q3 rides, like all relatives on the MQB platform, thoroughbred, even on a standard passive suspension (McPherson in front and a four-link in the rear). Moderately tough, without a hint of swing. For a surcharge, all versions except the S-line will offer an adaptive chassis. In combination with the optional Audi drive select system, which links the operation of the engine and the S tronic preselective robot, this allows you to customize the car to your taste, but it will not work out to radically shift the emphasis towards suspension comfort.

Engines are the main intrigue. At the time of its debut in Europe, the base will be the debuted on a new 1.5-liter turbo (150 hp), and exclusively in the front-wheel drive version of the TFSI 35. The more powerful petrol 2.0 will be offered in combination with all-wheel drive in two versions - 190 hp. ... (40 TFSI) and 230 hp. (45 TFSI). Diesels are presented by 2-liter 150-horsepower TDI with front-wheel drive and S tronic preselection or all-wheel drive and 6-speed manual transmission.
