We operated it for 3 years, as planned. But the mileage was even more than expected for this period - 180 t.km. 5 days a week, the machine was operated as a worker, transported people and equipment over distances of up to 500 km. And on weekends, holidays and vacations served as a vehicle for outdoor activities. Trips / expeditions on roads and off-road of Tver, Vologda, Kostroma and other regions. Hunting Fishing. Trips to a distant dacha when there is a lot of snow or in the spring thaw. The car carried trailers (in winter - with a snowmobile, in summer with a boat or quadric).

Main costs:

The car was bought for 1.5 million. Sold for 1.35.

All three years he was insured under CASCO insurance. The rate is around 5% of the sum insured.

Retrofitted webasto with remote control and timer. A very necessary thing for the comfortable operation of this machine. 3 years ago it cost around 60 tr. if I'm not mistaken.

The paintwork is weak. If the car is used on a country road and off-road (otherwise why such a car), it is necessary to tighten it in film. And that was done. The cost at that time was about 50 tr., If I'm not mistaken. During operation, several elements were pasted over again, when the film became unusable from an accident, stones and other mechanical damage.

Other necessary special stages: underbody protection, carpets were donated by the dealer upon purchase. I installed the towbar at my friends in the service. I don't remember the price.

Rubber. During the period of operation, 2 sets of AT rubber (Cooper) and 1 set of Bridgestone winter tires were purchased (the first set of winter tires came as a gift along with the car).

In a big way, Padzherik never broke. The engine to 180 thousand was quite lively and cheerful. The checkpoint was also alive, but tired. Thousands to 200 will need revision / medium repair.

There were unpleasant little things and annoyed a little:

Amorth changed under warranty 2 times. First time on a 20 t.km run. The second time they said that they had installed modernized ones. They really turned out to be stronger. Still changed little things on the suspension (stub racks, etc.). Once (in the region of 140 t.km.) the rear springs were changed.

The chrome peeled off. Changed under warranty.

The plastic parts of the interior were damaged. They refused to change them, citing inaccurate use. Although if they were made with high quality, they would not scratch or break.

There were small glitches in the electrics (the airbag malfunction lamp was on);

The driver's seat swayed a little. The dealer was unable / unwilling to do anything. But this is probably an infrequent problem. My brother and I are large (I am almost 100, he is 110), the third driver (our employee) is also rather big. The design is flimsy. On the last day before the sale, the chair broke.

Periodically, not the first time, the rear differential lock was turned on. Once it completely stopped turning on, because I tore off the tube, which is not very well located.

The windshield is quickly overwritten and does not resist chips well. Changed several times. There are scratches on the front side windows as well.

General impressions:

There may be a list of breakdowns and not very short, but all these are minor malfunctions that were quickly corrected, and the car did not stand idle.

The main components and assemblies of the car have a good resource. Padzherik covered 180 t.km. And I believe that after eliminating the accumulated problems (now we need a gearbox revision, a suspension revision, a rack, a lot of maintenance, little things), the car will be able to safely go for the next 100 without much difficulty and investment.

The car, if it is put on at least AT rubber, has excellent (for an unprepared car) off-road capabilities. The torque of the diesel engine and the lowering allow you to pull a boat on a trailer out of the water onto a steep and rather slippery shore. Thanks to the rear differential lock, it is enough to catch at least one side of the hard ground. It is better to turn on the back locking a little in advance, because it does not always turn on in place the first time.

Also, we had to force shallow fords more than once. There are no problems with this. If I am not mistaken, the instructions indicate the maximum depth up to 0.5-0.6 meters. I additionally had a snorkel.

There is almost always enough clearance. A couple of times I flew with protection on stones / bumps. Without consequences. The thrust of the motor is good, so most of the obstacles can be avoided by "running" and not run the risk of bumping into something.

The car breaks through the snow very well. The main thing is not to dig to the last, when the machine is no longer moving forward. Better to pass back a little on your own track and break through on the second try.

On a country road, if you go slowly, it shakes quite noticeably. Better to go faster. The suspension does not break through. It becomes more comfortable. It's a pleasure to ride.

On the highway, the dynamics of the diesel engine is also sufficient. But in general, in everyday use, I personally lacked a little comfort. The car works out roughly minor irregularities in the road. A bit noisy and there is extra vibration on the controls.

The seat and fit is generally not the most comfortable. The so-called "leather" on the seat is unpleasant to the touch. Very cold in winter and very hot in summer. Her back is sweating. If I had kept the car for myself, I would have altered the seats in normal / genuine leather.

The climate is not working optimally.

And, of course, the interior is too narrow. You notice this especially when 2 men in winter clothes are sitting in front. The three of us are cramped behind. There is not enough space behind the driver's seat and for the legs.

Demanding comfort from an off-road vehicle is probably unnecessary. But apparently I'm getting old J

Sale:

The car skated for 3 years. A number of technical problems have accumulated that will require repair work in the next 10-30 t.km. We did not plan further use, because it implies periodic decommissioning for repairs.

The protective film has been removed from the machine. After which she acquired a very fresh look. The buyer was found very quickly. As a gift, he gave him a regular rubber, which had been waiting in the garage for all 3 years.

I have never regretted my choice. Pajero Sport is a very decent car with honest off-road ability. He fully justified his 1.5 million. We can safely recommend for purchase and used Sport, but only to those who understand why it is needed.

I wanted to take a new Sport instead. They do not seek from goodness. But he didn't.

In the interior, the car, of course, has changed for the better. The seat has become a little more comfortable, the skin is better. There are more options. It seems to be softer on the go, but there is nowhere to really try it on the test. This was the end of the pros for me.

Cons that outweighed for me:

1) No diesel. Which is strange, because the vast majority of previous sports were sold on diesel. I need a diesel for such a car.

2) Appearance and abundance of chrome. I'm not picky, but this is too much. Not mine. And if we imagine that there may be problems with this chrome (it will darken, etc.) ...

3) The car has become almost 2 times more expensive.

4) The salon has remained the same narrow.

If only there was a diesel engine, I probably would have resigned myself and chose Sport again.

Until 2010, New Pajero Sport was offered with two engines: a diesel 3.2 DI-D (4M41) with a capacity of 160 hp.

petrol 3.0 l (6V31) 220 hp


Turbodiesel 3.2 DI-D is a good engine, has a timing chain drive. Even with a mileage of about 200 thousand km, the state of the timing chain does not have to worry about its condition.
There were warranty cases when, even on runs less than 50 t.km, it was necessary to change the turbine under warranty due to the rut of oil.


Also on the same runs there were cases of delamination of the rubber layer of the crankshaft pulley.

If not noticed in time, the pulley began to "walk", which led to abrasion of the engine frontal head up to the through hole through which engine oil began to flow.

The cost of spare parts is about 30 thousand rubles, and for work they will take somewhere from 30 to 50 thousand.
3-liter gasoline aspirated - sometimes with runs of 20-40 thousand km, the intake manifold began (rattles) in the range of 1800-2000 rpm.

The malfunction is not massive, but you know, the cost of a new collector is about 60-70 thousand rubles. The timing drive in a belt-type gasoline engine, which is better to change every 60 thousand km.

In 2010, the 3.2 liter diesel was replaced by the 2.5 DI-D (4D56U) with a capacity of 178 hp. The timing drive is also a belt, with a replacement interval of 90 thousand km.

Another nuance of a 5-speed automatic transmission is overheating during prolonged movement with interference (for example, uphill), and the transition of the box to emergency mode in 2nd gear.
