Features of oil for the Geely Emgrand engine

These vehicles use only synthetic oil. The manufacturer recommends changing it at least after 10 thousand km of driving (or one year, whichever comes first). If Geely Emgrand is used in difficult conditions, this period should be halved.

It is worth choosing which oil to fill in according to the quality of the product and compliance with the requirements in the technical documentation. When the machine is put into service from the factory, it is filled with Shell Helix Ultra 5W40. Further, it is recommended to use the same or similar. So, for replacement, you can take 5W40 from LUKOIL, LOTOS, Liqui Moly or any other company.

Why do I need to add new oil?

Lubrication not only protects engine parts from friction, but also gently cleanses it. So, in the oil used longer than the norm, the following substances can be observed:

• spent additives;
• mechanical impurities (worn out engine parts);
• sediment from the oil itself.

In addition, it changes its color and structure (sometimes to almost black). In this case, a large load falls on the engine, increasing the wear rate of components. With this method of operation, the motor will work without overhaul for no more than the warranty period.

Also, when changing the oil, a new filter is installed on the Geely Emgrand, which cleans it during operation.

Oil contamination occurs continuously in the engine. This is what causes increased wear, as well as premature breakage of rubbing parts. The reliability, power and resource of the internal combustion engine directly depend on the purity of the oil. There are organic and inorganic contaminants. The former are formed as a result of fuel combustion or thermal decomposition and oxidation of fuel and the oil itself. Various reactions with sulfur and water can aggravate the oil purity situation. Flushing is a very important part of the oil change process in a car. In the case when the oil is changed without flushing, a huge amount of various contaminants (carbon deposits, sludge, spongy formations) remains in the engine.

In the case of a quick flush, it is also poured into the old oil tank 10 minutes before the oil change. Then we leave the car engine running. It is recommended to use it regularly. It has a fairly high-quality detergent effect. If such an agent is added to the oil of a "slagged" engine, then all solid mechanical particles will clog the grid of the oil receiver. This will impede the normal circulation of oil, as a result of which it will lead to damage to the components and assemblies of the car.

After each flush, a new filter and oil will work more efficiently and better. A timely replacement of oil and filter will add to the life of your Emgrand.

INTRODUCTION

Geely Emgrand EC7 is the company's debut in the D class, which was released in 2010. The appearance of the new model was preceded by three years of painstaking work of the Geely research center in fruitful cooperation with well-known brand companies. Emgrand EC7 today is one of the few Chinese cars that have received 4 stars for crash tests according to EuroNCAP standards.
Many Emgrand assemblies are purchased by Geely from third parties. For example, the anti-lock braking system is manufactured by the German company Bosch, the headlights are manufactured by the French company Valeo, and the instrument panel is supplied by the American company Visteon.
Initially, the designers wanted to design a car with the best roominess, and they did it. So the overall dimensions of the car turned out to be quite impressive: length - 4635 mm, width - 1789 mm, height - 1470 mm, wheelbase - 2650 mm. The location of the headlights and bonnet moldings give the front end a certain aggressiveness.

The European appearance and quality of finishing materials used in the interior destroy the stereotypes about the Chinese car that have developed over the past few years. The gaps between the body panels are mostly absent, and if they are, they are minimal and uniform around the entire perimeter. The interior plastic is not soft, but pleasant to the touch. In the basic configuration, the seats and door panels are finished in fabric, but for an additional charge it can be replaced with leather. The joints are neat and the instrument layout is laconic. The driver's seating position approaches vertical, which, along with a large glass area, provides very good visibility. The rear sofa has a folding armrest with cup holders, and the backrest folds proportionally (60/40), giving access to a huge trunk with a volume of 680 liters. By the way, a full-size spare wheel is hidden under the hard boot floor, and even on a cast 15-inch (like the rest of the wheels) disc.
Emgrand EC7 is available on the market in two trim levels - Basic and Comfort. At the same time, an MP3 radio tape recorder with mini-USB output and six speakers, power accessories, air conditioning and fog lights are already available in the basic configuration.
