So my friends, the mileage is moving towards a hundred, and the car continues to present surprises. The joy ended when the Focus2 was replaced by the Honda CRV. I will not compare with her, because, forgive me, VAG-o phyla. CRV with motor 2, 4 is better in everything. She has run almost 50 tyk. Because it is more pleasant to ride on it. Tobish, if you go far, then Honda rolls, and VAG smokes on the sidelines. VAG it is purely for short, stable distances in Moscow, and it is also a controversial point, because the consumption on the Tiguan grows terribly as it ages, and dealers and other skilled workers say that this is the norm.

So let's start in order. Forgive me, but in this class of SUVs I will compare them with the RVC, since I have and use these two cars.

In previous reviews, if you remember, I talked about the problems associated with Tiga. So I want to draw your attention to what I did not have time to write. There is one very important nuance when changing timing chains, when disassembling it is necessary to frequently inspect each bolt in the chain tensioning system. Since they are pricked from high loads and, accordingly, their remains can get inside, and this, accordingly, gets into the repair of the engine, which, if guaranteed, does not care, but we don’t name it for very decent money.

Review of Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TSI (Volkswagen Tiguan) 2011

Hello, friends! Exactly one year has passed since the start of ownershipVW Tiguan 2.0 TSI ... During this year, he wound exactly 10,000 km on its wheels. Now you can write something about him. I will compare with my favorite carVW Golf V 1.4 TSI.

I bought the car exactly one year ago, quite spontaneously. It's just that every winter on Golf at least a couple of times, but I'll get stuck in some snow-ice hole so that without a tie, neither here nor there. And last winter in someone else's yard he was once again stuck so that he spent an hour, not being able to ask anyone to push (a banal situation - well, there were no passers-by, and that's it!). Suddenly I see - the old man is driving on Padzherik; Well, I asked him to hook it (especially since I already had a tie ready). Padzherik pulled my plane down without straining at all. As soon as I said goodbye to the old man, thanking him for his help, I immediately got stuck ten meters from my previous position, and for another half hour. A passerby helped push out. As soon as I arrived home, I immediately stumbled on the Internet, trying to find something four-wheel drive. I looked closely at Tiguan before, but I did not really see the need for it, although the car was quite attractive to me. Along the way, I looked at competitors.

Once, for informational purposes, my wife and I drove through the city salons to look at the crossovers. I really liked the Peugeot 3008, but it is a mono drive. In Toyota RAV 4, both sat down and left - not mine. I watched Renoshki Duster and Koleos. Well what can I say? I've been driving the Golf for several years now. If it weren't for him, maybe Koleos could somehow like him. But Golf was. I also watched the Chevrolet Captiva and Opel Mokka and Antara. The captiva is not mine. Mocha too (I wouldn't take it even because of the name). Antara was more or less to my liking (it is very similar to a German car in almost everything, but still simpler). Just in case, I had it in mind, but I didn't like the size - it's too big. I will say right away - I do not like big cars, and my ideal could well be an all-wheel drive Golf. Even when I had a Transporter, I was very happy to transfer to my VAZ “four” when I had to go somewhere far away. Well, I'm just crazy about Golf. Therefore, I also looked at the Skoda Yeti, but even in the most expensive configuration inside it was simpler than my Golf Trendline, besides, for some reason, I could not find a comfortable position for myself at the wheel. Nevertheless, I had in mind this car too, but my wife absolutely did not like it.

Nevertheless, manufacturers regularly release models that belong to different classes, but compete stubbornly in the struggle for the hearts of motorists around the world. This is especially true of such "bison" of the world car industry as Mitsubishi and Volkswagen.

Nothing prevents us from watching with pleasure how they improve their lineup, making, in turn, the conclusion which class of powerful off-road fighters suits each of us.

The famous Volkswagen Tiguan and Mitsubishi ASX are examples of two very similar cars, one of which belongs to SUVs and the other to crossovers. Let's take a closer look at them.

Arguments of the parties

First of all, it is worth evaluating fuel consumption. Mitsubishi definitely bypasses the competitor, absorbing less gasoline, which is in mixed mode (5% more economical), which is on the highway (10% difference). In addition, the ASX is clearly more environmentally friendly. Its CO2 emissions are 22% less than the Tiguan.

On the other hand, Volkswagen has a much better compression ratio - as much as 41%. This means that the Tiguan will consume significantly less fuel than the ASX to get the same power.

The Tiguan also has a larger bore (6 mm) and a larger stroke (5.5 mm). For Volkswagen, this means a better filling ratio and also reduces overall fuel consumption, which is important.

When it comes to the standard warranty, Mitsubishi takes the lead. After all, its warranty covers 1,500,000 km, which far exceeds the warranty provided by Volkswagen!

Also ASX weighs 339 kg less than Volkswagen, and this is an important factor that affects not only fuel consumption, but also on the braking distance, acceleration dynamics, etc.

But Volkswagen, after all, accelerates by a whole 2.5 seconds, reaching the cherished 100 km / h in 8.9 seconds. In particular, this is because the Tiguan has 196 Nm more torque than the Mitsubishi. And yet, the top speed of Volkswagen reaches 201 km / h, while the ASX "squeezes" only 182 km / h.

Let's sum up

In general, we can conclude that these two cars are worth each other. Powerful, beautiful, fast, they are excellent representatives of their classes, coping with the assigned tasks at 100%.

Where cars are bought in Kazakhstan now

Experienced car enthusiasts know that a good selection of car models from a variety of manufacturers can be found on 1.kz - the First Automobile Portal of Kazakhstan. Here you can find not only advertisements for the sale of brand new cars, but also used ones, not cleared by customs and even intended for roads with right-hand traffic.

In addition to passenger cars, 1.kz offers various types of cargo, water, air and motor transport.

If you are looking for spare parts for your own car, take a look at the corresponding section of the First Automobile. The most varied offers across the country are at your service. Just choose the most favorable terms.

Another section of the portal will tell you where the nearest service station or car rental company is located. You can also find a tuning center or the address of a driving school in your area on the map.

And finally, take a look at the "Journal" of the First Automobile. There will surely be a lot of useful information for every car owner, including the latest car news.

Test Volkswagen Tiguan - Mitsubishi ASX, we carried out in a sandy quarry. This is where the crossover can prove itself - dig indefinitely.
The brand new Volkswagen Tiguan (Volkswagen Tiguan) and just after restyling Mitsubishi ASX (Mitsubishi ASX) are bringing together 150-horsepower engines. But the Tiguan has a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine, the ASX has an atmospheric 2-liter. The German has a "wet" automatic DSG, the Japanese has a variator. The first is assembled in Kaluga, the second is a purebred Japanese. Judging by the price, which is higher for Tiguan, the Japanese was originally listed as the second number. But that was not the case, he gave the recognized leader a real battle.

As always, we offered the participants several exercises, by performing which they had to show their strengths and weaknesses. The presenters in the video test: Petr Leshikh at the Volkswagen Tiguan 2018 and Igor Sirin at the Mitsubishi ASX 2018 had to fight to the last drop of gasoline, each for his own car.

Video test Volkswagen Tiguan - Mitsubishi ASX below, tech. characteristics at the end of the article.

Warm up

Almost two years later, the updated Mitsubishi ASX returned to the Russian market - the compact crossover has experienced another (third in a row) rejuvenation and is ready to compete for the likes of customers. Behind the styled appearance hides a well-known base and equipment options - the ASX is available in front-wheel drive with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 117-horsepower 1.6 naturally aspirated engine or in an all-wheel drive configuration with a 2-liter naturally aspirated unit (150 hp) with a CVT variator 9 (on our test).

In the early 2010s, ASX sales in Russia reached 25 thousand cars a year - a reasonable pricing policy and the absence of competitors favored stable demand. However, the price of the ASX 2017 model year in the basic configuration is 300 thousand rubles. more than Creta and more than 200 thousand more than Kaptur - a solid surcharge for Japanese quality! The increased price tag has shifted the emphasis: the site will be the recognized leader of the segment to examine the new-old classmate on the test - (single test here).

The maximum ASX equipment almost took the psychological milestone of 1.5 million rubles - about the same price would cost the base Tiguan with an engine of similar power. However, on the test there is a more equipped version of the Comfortline, so VW is more expensive by about 200 thousand.

Oddly enough, but the dimensions of our rivals are very close. The base of the ASX is 2670 mm, the Tiguan is only 11 mm long. The difference in length is more than 4365 mm against 4486. So Tiguan should have a noticeable advantage in the trunk. But in terms of passenger comfort, it is almost parity.

Visually, it may seem that the ACX is closer to more compact crossovers of the type, but its base is only 2590 mm. So the comparison would hardly be correct. Meanwhile, ASX shares a base with its older brother and is just a shortened version of it with a more modest trunk.

Test Volkswagen Tiguan - Mitsubishi ASX with motors of the same power, automatic transmissions, and full drive. But in what different ways is this formal similarity achieved. The Tiguan has the latest 1.4 turbo engine, which produces 250 Nm of torque already at 1500 rpm. The ASX has a traditional 2-liter aspirated engine with a timing chain. A similar motor can be found on Korean Hyundai / Kia models, as well as on American Chryslers. This is their joint Korean-German (at that time Chrysler and Mitsubishi were under Mercedes) development of the beginning of the century.

The situation is similar with boxes. Tiguan has an old DQ250 6-speed DSG with wet clutches. It is used on and even the 300-horsepower all-wheel-drive Golf R and is noticeably more durable than the dry box, which is used on many VW front-wheel drive vehicles. So, theoretically, such a box can digest the moment even at 350Nm.

Mitsubishi has a Japanese Jatco JF016E CVT, which is also actively used on Nissan crossovers. It can handle motors up to 2.5 liters, so a 2-liter ASX should work with a margin.

Four-wheel drive on both cars is implemented in almost the same way. Traction is constantly supplied to the front wheels and, if necessary, the rear axle is connected through the clutch. But the electronic drive settings are different.

The ASX now has a button instead of a washer and it allows you to choose one of 3 modes: front-wheel drive, automatic connection of the rear axle when the front slips or hard blocking of the clutch. Locking can help with difficult terrain where constant traction is needed on two axles.

Tiguan's system is more complicated. Next to the selector, a washer allows you to select the type of off-road and the electronics itself adapts the operation of all vehicle systems to the obstacle to be overcome. But the calculation of German engineers is one thing, and real conditions are another.

For example, in our conditions, parallel starts on a snowy road, the "snow" mode turned out to be the least suitable, since all the electronics goes into a braked mode of operation, trying to save the driver from mistakes. On the contrary, we needed maximum dynamics. Therefore, you have to select the modes by a scientific poke or read the instructions ...

Duel

Dynamic test (80-130km / h, highway)

According to the manufacturer's declared parameters, the Tiguan is 2 seconds faster than the ASX - and this despite the fact that the German car is 100 kg heavier. With equal power, all the attention to the gearboxes - the CVT CVT on Mitsubishi is opposed by the “wet” DSG-6 DQ250 robot from VW.

Starts on the highway from 80 km / h showed a very slight advantage of the Tiguan in acceleration to 100 km / h and a more confident acceleration of the ASX at speeds over 100 km / h: Mitsubishi does not lose to VW more than the body, and as it accelerates, it catches up and outruns competitor.

With a parallel start at a speed of 80 km / h, we used completely standard settings. Yes, you could turn on the Sport mode on the Tiguan or use the petals on the ASX. But we compared the capabilities of cars in everyday mode (see video). It's a draw here!

Score 1: 1

Traffic light start

They decided to spend the traditional “traffic light start” for crossovers on a country road: the packed snow under the wheels will make its own adjustments and instead of a power duel, we will have a comparison of all-wheel drive systems and transmissions.

Acceleration from 0-60 km / h remains with the ASX: the burgundy car gets under way more confidently and as a result “brings” the whole body to the German competitor. Changing the transmission mode on snow / slippery does not lead to an improvement in dynamics: on the contrary, the DSG worked even softer, contributing to a smooth acceleration. In defense of Volkswagen, we note that the Tiguan had friction rubber against the studded one on the ASX.

Mitsubishi-ASX: When starting from a place, we imitated the most efficient start.

When starting with 2 pedals, the ACX allows you to spin the motor up to almost 3000 rpm and start exactly at the moment when the left foot releases the brake. On Tiguan, we tried all possible combinations. Robot sport mode, ESP on or off, and various off-road assistant settings. But we never got off to a quick start. The motor refused to spin above 1500 rpm, which is not enough for a turbo engine, and the clutch closes with a delay.

We repeated the races more than 5 times, tried to change places, Mitsubishi ASH was consistently leading. But most importantly: that none of the boxes gave a hint of overheating!

Score 1: 2 in favor of ASX

Salon

While settling in the Mitsubishi ASX, you notice that the car is closer than its rival. Dry numbers state a difference of almost 4 centimeters in favor of the Tiguan, but subjectively the difference is perceived as b aboutmore.

Even in the maximum version, the ASX has only one-zone climate control, electronic adjustments only for the driver's seat and a boring, monochromatic design of the front panel in black soft plastic.

There are no complaints about the build quality of the Japanese crossover, and one of the differences between the updated ASX is improved noise isolation, although Mitsubishi is not as comfortable on rough terrain as in the Tiguan: a more modern German chassis than the opponent's affects.

Rear passengers ASX are not spoiled for options: from the "entertainment" only a folding headrest with a pair of cup holders and dim lighting. There are also complaints about the fit - the seat back is not adjustable in tilt, and in free legroom: a tall passenger is unlikely to be comfortable.

While driving a Tiguan, you pay attention to the equipment of the German crossover - even a three-zone climate control is available even far from the top-end configuration.

The interior of Volkswagen is more modern, in the asset - countless options, configuration options.

The rear seats of the Tiguan: a photo from a single summer test, sorry, a winter photo in comparison with the ASX went into marriage.

In Tiguan, passengers in the back are not deprived of care either: in addition to their own climate control zone, they are provided with heating and adjustment of the seat back by tilt angle. In addition, the rear sofa itself moves longitudinally, which is useful when transforming the cabin. The front comfort score and the rear comfort score go to VW.

The score is 3: 2 in favor of Tiguan.

Ground clearance

The ground clearance of VW Tiguan according to the passport data is 200 mm. The ASX has half a centimeter less: 195 mm. Volkswagen did not experience any difficulties with passing through our branded 200 mm high tire: a light touch with the protection, but the projectile did not budge. Mitsubishi ASX passes the test confidently, but slightly shifts the tire. Elusive millimeters do not change the picture - equally.

The score is 4: 3 in favor of Tiguan.

Trunk

The Germans declared the VW trunk volume as much as 615 liters. No matter how hard they tried to enter the site, they could not find more - and this is with the rear seats shifted to the point of complete inconvenience of the crooked passengers.

There is more room for luggage in the Tiguan, and the rear sofa is divided into three parts, and not into two like Mitsubishi ASX, which will help in transporting long loads.

The ASX has the advantage of having a full-size spare wheel, while the Tiguan has a stowaway hidden under the flat floor. We'll take the ASX's declared 350 liters of trunk volume on faith, but Tiguan has a larger trunk.

The score is 5: 3 in favor of Tiguan

Off road

As an assessment of the operation of all-wheel drive systems, we chose the already familiar discipline of starting up a hill on a slippery surface - in our case, it is rolled snow.

The electronic systems of both machines did a decent job - both the Tiguan and ASX did not experience any lifting problems (see video).

We had to abandon the test with the famous rollers - it was slippery everywhere. A real road situation was suggested - starting under load from a slippery surface located under the right wheels. The load was another car in neutral, towed. The redistribution of torque occurs adequately to the road situation: in both VW and Mitsubishi, the electronics competently dose traction and pulls the towed car, regardless of the ice.

Let's complicate the task for the test car by putting the other (rear) brake on the parking brake.

For several minutes of attempts to move the locked Tiguan, Mitsubishi ASX conscientiously “rowed” the wheels, skidded, but could not complete the task. The positive aspects include the endurance of the variator, which stoically endured the load and turned out to be not prone to overheating - this quality will help to get out of the road on its own.

Having changed the roles of the heroes, we got a similar result: the Tiguan all-wheel drive is included in the work, overheating is not observed, the car grinds the coating with wheels, but there is still not enough potential to move another crossover with the handbrake. There is an equal fight here.

Volkswagen Tiguan test - Mitsubishi ASX - total: 6: 4

VW's victory did not come as a surprise: Tiguan is more modern, offers used aboutgreater variability in the choice of equipment, better assembled and ... more expensive. Mitsubishi has a reputation as a reliable brand with Japanese quality and well-proven ASX of previous releases - no fundamental problems have been identified for more than 200 thousand runs.

Manufacturers' pricing policy.

The price tag for Mitsubishi ASX in basic configuration, 1.6 engine, 5-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive, excluding shares, starts from 1,099 thousand rubles. All-wheel drive versions with a variator and a 150-horsepower engine start at 1339 thousand. However, dealers offer discounts, the value of which reaches 270 thousand rubles, so that the purchase of a Japanese crossover may cost less.

The offer for the Tiguan starts at 1,349,000 rubles for a front-wheel drive car with a manual transmission and a 1.4-liter engine. The German manufacturer is famous for the ability to configure the car for himself - a choice of petrol (4) and diesel units, three gearbox options (DSG-6, DSG-7 or 6-speed manual), front or all-wheel drive, as well as the Sportline option, which includes sporty appearance. So, the price of a fully equipped Tiguan with a 180-horsepower engine can exceed 2.5 million! If the conditions of the special offers are met, dealers are ready to "mow" up to 320 thousand rubles.

We pitted Tiguan and ASX for two reasons: firstly, both cars are ambitious careerists, close in terms of the capabilities of engines and gearboxes (the test confirmed this), and secondly, we would like to lower the price tag for the Kaluga Tiguan, and Mitsubishi ASX is able to do this.
