My review of the Ravon P3 machine will try to tell you in detail about all the advantages and disadvantages of this car. Prior to that, he drove on different brands, ranging from "Volga 31029" and ending with "Chevrolet Blazer".

On duty, you have to drive 80-100 km every day, in dense city traffic and on the highway. When my jeep finally collapsed, and the repair was already unprofitable, I went to Avito and began to look for a used foreign car up to 700 thousand rubles.

Under this cost and my requirements, but I wanted a full-fledged car with a fairly powerful engine, automatic transmission and a wide range of equipment, Kia, Chevrolet, Hyundai and “Chinese” fit. All had a mileage of over 80, there were also new budget options in the poorest configuration without sound insulation and manual windows.

This did not suit me. While watching, I saw an advertisement for Nexia Ravon and decided to see "what a beast". I was surprised that at a cost of 100 cheaper than its brothers, the car is perfectly assembled and has all the necessary options. I decided to visit a car dealership and see it live, nevertheless a new car is better than a used one, even a brand name.

First impressions

In the cabin there were 4 models of various configurations and colors. The choice settled on the Nexia in the "Elegant" configuration with a six-speed automatic transmission with "tiptronic" white. The car had a 4-cylinder engine with 107 horsepower and a volume of 1.5, which seemed to me an ideal balance of traction and economy.

All parts and elements of the body and interior were perfectly matched to each other, and even to the touch the good quality of the material was felt. As for the options, the car had everything it needed. There was an ABS system, hydraulic power steering, electric mirrors, brake booster, manual air conditioning, in general, everything is like in a Japanese or European middle class car. I would like to talk about the main thing - the features of operation.

Month of ownership

I was lucky and in the winter of 2017 I bought a car without a queue with registration on the same day. Before buying, there was some mistrust, but after the test drive all doubts were dispelled and I said: "we make out". Quickly put on record in the traffic police, the benefit of PTS was issued immediately.

I put my car in a paid parking lot, and the next day I decided to go to work. It was -20 degrees and fine cold snow. The alarm was auto-start, but I decided not to turn it on.

The engine started with a half turn, without extraneous noise and vibrations, as is the case in some "Vaz". In 5 minutes I warmed up to operating temperature, and I turned on the heater, after a minute it became warm in the cabin. He got behind the wheel, put the selector in the “D” position, slightly pressed the gas pedal. The car moved off smoothly, on the way I noticed small knocks of the suspension.

After a few hundred meters, the knocking stopped, this is a normal phenomenon and happens in any car - in the cold, the oil in the shock absorbers became thick, then developed. The engine worked perfectly and smoothly, at rpm up to 3,500 thousand in the cabin it was NOT HEARING, a pleasant hum is heard in the 5-6th gear, the feeling that a V-6 with a turbocharger was installed.

Automation clearly and smoothly changes gears, does not hesitate and does not slip on a slippery road. The characteristic clicks of the gearbox operation are not audible, unlike my Chevrolet 97 onwards jeep. On the track I tried to drown the gas pedal a little - the car smoothly, without jerking, went to accelerate. In this case, there should be some inhibition - after all, not a racing car, and 1.2 tons of weight.

I went to work for a month, never looked under the hood. I hit 2,800 kilometers, just ran in. On the advice of specialists, I changed the oil in the box and the engine, filled in high-quality fully synthetic. I changed all the filters and examined the candles. On this, the first MOT passed, I could have done it in the salon under warranty, but I love it with my own hands.

Half a year later

Overall happy with the car. During 6 months of daily trips, the car showed itself well. I would like to note the excellent handling, good acceleration and low gasoline consumption, which is about 10 liters in the city.

The suspension is smooth and soft, there are breakdowns when hitting large holes, just like other cars. Spacious warm interior, luggage compartment for 400 liters, comfortable rear row of seats - 3 passengers can calmly move around. Under full load, the car picks up acceleration without difficulty and feels great at a speed of 120 km / h.

There has never been a critical engine temperature, even during heavy loads, thanks to a well thought out and simple cooling system. The automatic machine unquestioningly performs switching always at the necessary moment, never got into emergency mode and did not give errors. The steering wheel with power steering rotates effortlessly - with one finger, which is convenient when turning in tight places. The ABS system is working properly, at a speed of about 60 km a cat ran onto the road, the car stopped quickly but smoothly, without squealing. Once I recharged the standard battery, apparently it was not fully charged at the factory.

The engine starts up in any frost with a half turn, did not notice knocks and noises, even during running-in.

The cabin has a simple air conditioner, used several times in the heat, provides a stably distributed flow of cold air, nothing else is required from it. The driver's seat of a very comfortable design, one might say "anatomical", traveled to Petrozavodsk for 250 and back - did not feel much fatigue. Also, of the useful options, there is a radio with a bluetooth system for 4 speakers, which, however, had to be replaced due to vibration during sound.

There is a comfortable design for fastening a child seat, well-thought-out seat belts, wear-resistant velor fabric upholstery in a combined color design. Heated mirrors with a convenient electric drive system that fold down during parking. Excellent optics providing a good view of the road and a glass cleaning mechanism.
The body paintwork is of very good quality, the car was parked on the street every day, for several months I did not find a single “mushroom”.

Malfunctions and malfunctions

There were no serious breakdowns, the car passed about 30 thousand. I replaced the spark plugs, refueled the air conditioner, and refilled the coolant once. The windshield cracked through my fault - I turned on the stove at full power during warming up.

Leaking stove pipe in the engine area - tightening the clamp became the solution to the problem. Interior lighting disappeared, searches led to a lack of contact in the plafond, after the "opening" of the lamp contacts, the light appeared.

Factory brushes "wipers" did not like - replaced by Bosch. These are all malfunctions for half a year, I want to note that spare parts and consumables for this model cost the same as for the Zhiguli.

Conclusion

I have never regretted my purchase, although at first there was distrust. The car is perfectly controlled, the engine is high-spirited, the automatic transmission is full of useful options to facilitate the driver's task. Accelerates quickly, maneuvers on oversized territory, does not require frequent repairs and maintenance. Excellent value for urban use and long country trips. For your money - ideal. Although I am a patriot, I do not recommend buying Vesta or X-Ray, I think that they are somewhat worse in quality.

Formally, the Ravon company has not done anything reprehensible: everyone has the right to rewrite the prices of their products. In any size and at any time - so you and I shouldn't grumble. And yet the marketing ploy of the young Uzbek brand turned out to be not very beautiful, although - if we ignore the moral aspect - it borders on genius. By the way, I do not remember a similar act on the part of any other manufacturer. So what happened?

Having released Ravon Nexia (aka Chevrolet Aveo of the previous generation) and Ravon R2 (Chevrolet Spark) on the market, the Uzbeks "hung" extremely attractive price tags on both models. The price for Nexia started at 419,000 rubles and automatically made it the most affordable sedan after Lada Grants. It was possible to become the owner of R2, which is supplied to us exclusively with a gun, for only 409,000 rubles. Of course, the media immediately alerted everyone that Ravon was making a heck of a deal for buyers. And then - suddenly! ..

When the auto print press and major internet portals tested the new products from Asaka and praised the combination of price and quality, the cost of Ravon products went up. Basic versions of Nexia and R2 have risen in price by 60,000 rubles at once - and this is a very impressive 15%! And although the Nexia is still a good option for a budget sedan, and the little R2 is the most affordable car with two pedals, I don't want to turn a blind eye to imperfections. Today we are talking about Nexia, which showed itself well during our recent one.

I'll make a reservation right away - the test Ravon Nexia R3 in the maximum configuration Elegant with a 6-speed automatic has risen in price less than other versions (+10,000 rubles) and now costs 579,000 rubles. But after the company just so easily and cheerfully left all the press in the fools, I look at this car with slightly different eyes. And the first thing that makes them calluses is the build quality.

To be honest, we can't say that the test Nexia is built poorly. Compared to the Ravon Gentra sedan we tested a year ago, the Nexia is doing great. The doors are closed the first time, and all four - with the same effort. In the cabin, it does not smell as clearly as before, with phenol. And yet, even a picky person will notice the uneven gaps between the black glossy area and its chrome edging at the base of the automatic transmission selector, the skewed plastic panel under the windshield and the plastic lining of the driver's sill that is walking. Despite the fact that such jambs are not found on every copy, they speak eloquently about the instability of quality.

In all other respects, the interior of the new Nexia makes an excellent impression. The seat geometry is good, the front seats are comfortable. From the point of view of ergonomics, Ravon R3 is completely preferable to both Grants and Logan - their competitors in the aforementioned test. Perhaps the only thing that betrays the age of the car (Chevrolet Aveo T250 debuted in 2006) - small pockets in the front doors, not even designed for a half-liter bottle of water. But everything else is in order. It is all the more offensive that with such a pleasant picture, the issue of quality can draw attention to itself.

By the way, I would like to take this opportunity to make an amendment. After the publication of the material, we received a letter from the reader Ilya, which said that the two-tone salon with light armchairs was not a find of Ravon, as I wrote in the material. Indeed, similar interiors were available to buyers of the Chevrolet Aveo T250. But Russian dealers have never had cars with such salons, and it was this fact that misled. Forgive me!

The Nexia's driving advantages over its main competitors - no matter how pretentious it may sound - are obvious. This is a good 1.5 liter engine and a modern six-speed automatic from the Chevrolet Cobalt (recently - Ravon R4). However, such a box is installed not only on the Cobalt, but also on a number of GM models. So, the combination of the engine and the box endows the sedan with absolutely adequate acceleration dynamics and keeps the fuel appetite within a reasonable framework. Even in the city, the Nexia's consumption is 10 l / 100 km, while the Renault Logan with a 1.6-liter engine and an antique DP2 four-speed automatic can burn up to 14-15 liters per hundred.

What's frustrating on the go? Too stiff suspension, unable to adequately work out even implicit coating defects, and frankly weak sound insulation. Moreover, the "Shumka" again forces to raise the issue of quality: in addition to weak protection of the wheel arches and engine compartment, at speeds over 80 km / h through the driver's door seal the wind starts to break through with a nasty whistle. I really hope that quality control in Asaka will be taken over. And the next Ravon, which we will take for a test in a year, will differ from the test Nexia for the better in terms of assembly accuracy as strikingly as it differs from last year's Gentra.

To summarize, Ravon Nexia R3 continues to be one of the most attractive offers in the class even after the rise in price. But since the Uzbeks decided to raise prices for their cars by 15% (if we talk about the initial versions) at once, then the demand from them will be different. And if we talk about top-end versions, how about finally equipping the Nexia with heated front seats and remote control of the central locking system after the price increase? The introduction of these penny production-scale options could easily justify the price hike. And their absence, on the contrary, can scare away - and will certainly scare away - some potential buyers. In general, we are waiting for changes for the better in the new year! And we really hope that they will do without another rewriting of the price tag.
