In 2019, the Alfa Romeo range will be replenished with the large 7-seater Castello SUV.

The car will receive the same platform as its brothers Giulia and Stelvio, but at the same time its length will be 4900 mm (which is 200 mm more than the mentioned models).

Suzuki jimny

The compact SUV from Suzuki will receive a new generation in 2020.

As you can see in the photo, the SUV will retain its characteristic angular shape, the classic design of the front optics and a massive radiator grille. Someone may even see in the model some resemblance to the exterior of the Mercedes-Benz G class.

New cars are already undergoing tests in Germany and, most likely, in 2019 they will be officially presented at one of the car dealerships. Despite its compactness, this baby is ready for any test, because it includes:

• traction low gear;
• all-wheel drive AllGrip Pro;
• a number of options to assist the driver, as in more powerful off-road conquerors.

Whether there will be an expansion of the motor range, the manufacturer is still silent. Obviously, in the updated versions, petrol power units with a volume of 1.0-1.3 liters will be available, which will be aggregated 5-st. Manual transmission or 4-band automatic.

Suzuki grand vitara

The compact SUV Jeep Compass entered the lineup of the American automaker in 2006, and since then the car has already gone through two restyles. The first was held at the end of 2010, as a result of which the SUV has become noticeably prettier.

The main feature of the novelty then was the changed front end - the new Jeep Compass 2017-2018 lost its round headlights and acquired optics in the style of the latest generation, as well as a similar radiator grille and a new hood.

The interior has got new front seats with integrated side airbags, as well as matte chrome trim on the center console and an optional Saddle Brown leather upholstery. A rear-view camera is included as standard equipment.

As power units for the Compass, the previous engines are offered, represented by gasoline engines with a volume of 2.0 (156 hp) and 2.2 (170 hp) liters, as well as a 2.4-liter turbodiesel, available with a return to 136 and 163 "horses".

The latter are aggregated in tandem with a 6-speed manual transmission, but the gasoline ones have got a new six-speed automatic, which replaced the former continuously variable variator.

In Europe, the updated Jeep Compass 2017 was offered in three trim levels: Sport, Limited and North Edition, which could be purchased with both front-wheel drive and the proprietary Freedom Drive I all-wheel drive system.

The pre-styling version began to be sold on the Russian market from July 1, 2011 at a price of 1,321,000 rubles, and in the final year of sales it is estimated at 1,949,000 rubles. As before, it was the uncontested version with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine (170 hp) and a six-speed automatic in the Limited version.

The outgoing year turned out to be one of the most difficult for the automotive market in our country over the past ten years. Rising prices and, as a result, a sharp drop in demand for vehicles negatively affected the profits of almost all car manufacturers. These destructive processes led to the fact that many models left the Russian market, and the launch of new products temporarily "slowed down".

Nevertheless, the relative stabilization of the ruble exchange rate led to the fact that in 2016 a number of automakers decided to present their premieres in Russia. This also affected the SUV market of the 2016 model year, which will also appear in our country.

In this article we will try to talk about real frame SUVs that will be available in Russia in 2016. There are not so many of them, but each of the presented cars is significant in its own way.

General situation on the frame SUV market

In recent years, the market for "purebred" frame SUVs has declined significantly. The reason for this was the emergence of a large number of "parquet" crossovers, which, with tolerable cross-country parameters, provide the comfort and controllability of a passenger sedan or station wagon.

However, practice has shown that frame SUVs have their own consumer audience, and their buyers do not agree to "half measures". It is for this reason that in 2016 almost all SUV manufacturers decided on a major update of the model range.

They presented a number of completely new models, which went far ahead of their predecessors in terms of comfort and equipment with modern systems, but at the same time retained the main feature of the chassis frame layout - high cross-country ability.

So let's see what they are - 2016 SUVs.

Japanese

It is known that on the Russian market the main part of frame SUV models is offered by Japanese automakers. Almost all of them offer completely redesigned versions of their vehicles that are in different price ranges, but still offer a high level of off-pavement cross-country ability.

Perhaps the first SUV of 2016 that deserves the closest attention will be the restyled version of the Toyota Land Cruiser 200.

The developers of the car did not significantly modify the technical part of the SUV, which is already one of the benchmarks in its class.

The changes affected only the appearance of the car and the interior. In particular, the updated Kruzak received completely new headlights, somewhat similar to those used on the Lincoln Navigator and a new radiator grille. It is worth saying that such changes clearly benefited the car, and the appearance of the car began to look much more harmonious and less heavy.
