COFFEE ON THE KNEES

The Porsche Macan is extremely safe. This is indifferent to men and is very attractive to the beautiful half of humanity. Take such an electronic function as keeping the car within the lane. This is the first thing I experienced myself while driving the roads of Morocco in the top 400 hp version of the Macan. The option with the help of a video camera recognizes white lines, even half-erased ones, and helps in emergency cases to stay in its lane.

So, the speed is about 70 km / h, I drop the steering wheel and watch what happens next. Roads in Africa are not perfectly flat, so I quickly begin to drift to the right, but there are no markings there, and almost at the side of the road I grab the steering wheel. And the Macan electronics are designed for the hostess, who suddenly sneezed and splashed hot coffee on her knees.

NOT FAST ENOUGH

Naturally, the Macan is extremely athletic. How else? But will a man like it? The stronger sex is used to using the abilities that he has. This is the essence of his life. Realizing his skills, he receives the same set of chemicals that allows him to sleep peacefully in the evening, and not toss and turn until the morning, jerking his leg. Where will he squeeze all those 4.6 seconds out of a Porsche to a hundred? If we lived in Germany, then it would be a small problem to get to the legendary race track, drop 50 euros into the turnstile and enjoy the ride to complete satisfaction. There are also several tracks in Russia, but it's not so easy to get there. And while you get to the highway near Moscow on the weekend, standing in traffic jams, you will only have a desire to rest and eat. A man will not be able to exist like that, and a girl - as much as necessary. And it's depressing, because the Macan really borrowed a lot from real sports cars. First of all, a configuration in which the rear wheels are wider than the front ones. This ensures the best loading of the rear axle. In addition, wide tires heat up less and retain their qualities even under severe "annealing".

The adapted system for adjusting the damping of the new items is also borrowed from the "911". And the excellent electromechanical power steering, literally "filled" with feedback, again a racing mechanism. The steering wheel really works out in full. On the first day of the race, I was surprised why the steering wheel has such an intricate shape that it is inconvenient to intercept it. I even asked the Porsche manager about it. He replied, "If you need interception, then you are not going fast enough." Beautiful words. The next day I remembered about them, but pretty soon I felt ashamed to rush along civil roads twice as fast as it should be. Although all the local police were bought on the vine, it is still ugly.

METAL TENSIONED

The novelty takes care of you. She gives you a sense of security, while she is quite powerful. Exactly what women need. But there is one area in which Porsche has nothing to shine. This is comfort. Many would argue with me here, so I will be extremely meticulous. The Macan rides well on uneven asphalt and ground. Many softer premium cars would envy him. It does not fall into holes and does not make you brake convulsively in front of a crack. Only this feature of its suspension can be called rather balanced energy intensity. Yet comfort is something else. First of all, it consists in the absence or presence of vibrations. I do not mean the usual tremor that occurs on the "comb". It is rather a sensation of obvious tension in the Porsche body, as if the pressed souls of the departed pilots languish in the metal itself. And it is not surprising, because the rigidity of the body was seriously worked on. If you open the hood, you will immediately notice a stretch. Will the girls be satisfied with such a harsh chassis? Those who have driven Mazda before may not notice the difference. But what about the rest?

BLOCKING LETS

Let's add cross-country ability to the Macan's manhood. It perfectly shows its capabilities off-road. Thanks to the air suspension already included in the basic equipment, it has the correct geometric characteristics. The ground clearance is 230 mm. The angle of entry is 26.6 degrees. Departure angle - 25.3. For a SUV, if these values \u200b\u200bare more than 20 degrees, it is already enough. Plus the commendable energy intensity of the suspension, thanks to which I drove on Moroccan soil without any consequences for the car. But that's not all. In the harsh mud, you don't have to worry about the Macan's multi-plate four-wheel drive clutch failing after five minutes of slipping. It is protected from overheating by a large volume of 0.58 liters of oil and by being directly docked to the gearbox, that is, it can be cooled from its oil through the wall. Well, complete permissiveness outside the asphalt will be provided by the optional electronically controlled rear cross-axle differential lock. Let's sum up the balance: the Macan has almost equal boyish and girlish qualities. But the main thing is not to give this toy to teenagers.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

The top engine is 3.6 liters, V6, 400 hp. with., with direct injection (pressure - 200 bar), dual turbocharging, variable valve timing at the inlet. The sports dry sump lubrication system (9.5 liter engine oil) provides good lubrication in extreme situations, helps to lower the vehicle's center of gravity and increases ground clearance. Dual-clutch transmissions. In this automatic transmission, the company's engineers managed to return the coasting movement, beloved by users of the "mechanics", which saves up to a liter of fuel per hundred on the highway. The front brakes are 6-piston with ventilated discs 360 x 36 mm. At the rear, there are combined floating calipers with 356 x 28 mm discs. Electronics automatically brakes a crashed car in order to extinguish the kinetic energy still remaining after the collision and to avoid a second collision (according to statistics, this happens quite often).
