If you have no complaints about the appearance of this model, then you will not scold the salon. No, the interior is not made of expensive soft plastic, but outwardly the front panel looks very good, especially for the modernized cars that appeared in 2005. However, there are not very many very poor Fiesta on the secondary market (and even then they are mainly brought from Europe). Russian buyers preferred cars with electric drives, music and air conditioning. Such cars, of course, are preferable to "naked" Fiesta, but they also cost much more. There are no questions about the reliability of the operation of electrical equipment. And, perhaps, the only complaint about the build quality of the cabin concerns the creaks that appear on some cars that come from the right front seat (you need to lubricate, although it does not always help).

On sale you can find two variants of the Fiesta - with a 3- and 5-door body. Theoretically, you can buy and… a sedan. Yes, in 2004, Fiesta began to be made in such a body, but such cars were sold only in South America and India. Moreover, they could be equipped with a 1.0-liter engine with a compressor, which produced as much as 95 hp. (on the South American Fiesta, they also installed atmospheric engines with a volume of 1.0 liters (66 hp), 1.6 liters (105 hp or 111 hp) and a 1.4-liter diesel engine (68 hp .).

The 5-door model, of course, is more practical, and in beauty it does not lose too much to the 3-door. Therefore, if you choose a used car, then it is best to stop your gaze on the Fiesta with five doors. No serious problems with the body have been identified yet. But still there is one "sore" that annoys many Fiesta owners - the hood lock does not work well, which sometimes refuses to perform its functions at all. Naturally, usually the fact that the hood does not open or close is found out at the most inopportune moment ... The lock is usually treated with grease. Although the owners of Fiesta have not as many complaints about the hood as, say, the same owners of Focus. There, we recall, the hood is not opened as usual with a cable from the passenger compartment, but with the help of a special lock located under the emblem (of course, dirt, salt and other nasty things constantly get into the lock).

Fiesta sold in Europe were equipped with not only gasoline, but also economical diesel engines. Such units with a volume of 1.4 liters (68 hp) and 1.6 liters (90 hp) were very popular in Europe, but they were not officially sold here, and ferrymen do not really like to bring them to Russia. diesel cars. They are simply harder to sell than the traditional gasoline Fiesta. But the masters who had experience of dealing with diesel Fiesta assure that there are no complaints about the reliability of the engines. Diesel cars are great on their own - powerful, with tremendous torque, and very economical.

The most modest gasoline Fiesta, which, incidentally, are rare, had a 1.3-liter engine (70 hp, although in some countries cars with a 60-horsepower version of this unit were sold). I must say that even this 8-valve engine is enough for quiet urban operation. But it is still better to buy a car with a 1.4 liter (80 hp) engine, which are only slightly more expensive than the Fiesta 1.3. Cars with a 1.6-liter engine, which produced 100 hp, are not uncommon. However, this power unit was installed only on Fiesta in the coolest Ghia configuration, which, of course, is reflected in the price. But, believe me, if you shell out and buy a Fiesta 1.6, you will never regret it. After all, this Fiesta is rightfully considered one of the most "driver" cars in the "B" class. And this is provided not so much by a powerful motor as by a very well-tuned suspension and steering. On flat roads, the Fiesta 1.6 is a pleasure to drive (although at high speeds it is annoying to lack adequate noise isolation).

Well, a few words should be said about the most "charged" Fiesta ST150, which had a 2.0 liter engine (150 hp). However, the chances that you will meet such a car (and even in relatively good condition) tend to zero. Fiesta ST150 should be specially searched for and ordered abroad, best of all in Germany, where they were sold the most.

The reliability of all gasoline engines is at a very good level. It is even difficult to name the weak points of these units. Perhaps only the fuel pump sometimes required replacement after 40-60 thousand km. But again, the problem with the fuel pump on the Fiesta was not of such a massive nature as on the same Focus. You can also note the spark plugs, which are sometimes not enough even for 15 thousand km. But maintenance on the Fiesta is recommended to be carried out every 20 thousand km, and therefore some drivers drive with spoiled candles until the time when it becomes necessary to make a scheduled visit to the service. And here there are two options - the traditional automatic transmission and the so-called "semi-automatic" called Durashift. The latter is a 5-speed "mechanics", where the electronics are engaged in the inclusion of speeds. However, it must be said right away that the Durashift, which is found only on cars with a 1.4-liter unit, may not please everyone. In automatic mode, Durashift does not work well and slows down noticeably when changing gears. Therefore, the best choice would be a car with a 1.6 liter engine and a 4-speed automatic transmission. But in general, there are no special questions about the reliability of the "semiautomatic device", although the masters note that there were cases of its breakdown.

We have already said that the Fiesta has a very good suspension, which still allows us to call this model one of the most "driver" in its class. But at the same time, the Fiesta's chassis is not oak, as on some sports coupes, but more or less comfortable. Moreover, it is still relatively simple and, most importantly, reliable.
