Repair of honda cr v 4 generations. Forward travel

Updated June 10, 2019

Honda CR-V 4- a cross-country vehicle with a large trunk and a high level of comfort will be appreciated by families, as well as travel and leisure lovers. The driver and passengers in Honda CR-V will feel calm and respectable.

The presence of an intelligent all-wheel drive and a ground clearance of 17 cm will allow you to confidently drive on country roads, but the main purpose of this car is still for the city. There is a choice between 2 and 2.4 l petrol engines, “mechanics” or automatic transmission. In addition to men, thanks to its beautiful appearance and internal comfort, the model can appeal to many women.

Honda CR-V 4 review:

The first model began to be produced in 1995 and has changed 4 times to date. Generation and year updates:

1995-2001 - I generation
2002-2006 - II generation
2007-2009 - III generation
2010-2012 - III generation (restyling)
2013-2015 - IV generation

The last, 4th generation will be discussed in this review.

Honda CR-V 4 for different markets produced in different countries: Japan, Saitama, Great Britain, Swindon (Wiltshire), Canada and the USA, East Liberty, Ohio. The exact country of assembly can be determined by the first three characters in the VIN number. The assembly at all factories is of high quality and does not raise questions.

Salon:

In the cabin the car is spacious. The plastic on the panels and doors is quite tough, the quality of the finish is above average. If you catch on something, you can easily scratch it. The driver's seat is well organized, the controls are in convenient places. The automatic transmission mode selector, as in the Honda Pilot, is located in the center of the front panel. Thanks to this, the space on the center console is free and there is a convenient storage box with an opening curtain.

Dashboard informative, in the middle there is a large speedometer. Instrument readings are easy to read. The backlighting of all elements is "soft", white and blue, and the brightness is adjustable. The side mirrors are quite large, but they take some getting used to due to the reflection effect. At first, it will be difficult to determine the distance to the object by them. The forward view is good.

Front seats comfortable with good lateral support. But if you are tall in the driver's or passenger's seat, the seat cushions may be short, which may make some people uncomfortable. To understand how you will feel, the easiest way is to drive several kilometers.

Seat material - leather or velours... Velor seats are sensitive to dirt, but very aesthetic and pleasant to the touch. If you or your family spills a lot of drinks, it may be better to buy covers or have to visit a dry cleaner. By itself, velor loves self-care.

Rear passengers spacious and comfortable. The floor is flat, there is no tunnel in the middle. The backrest tilt of the seats is adjustable, so comfort on a long journey is ensured. The opening angle of the rear doors is quite large, which creates additional convenience for passengers when boarding or disembarking. It is also convenient to seat the child in a child seat.

The trunk in this interesting car is large, it has hooks for bags or fastening things. The rear seats fold into a flat floor with a single movement of the hand, creating an impressive space for cargo or rest.

The noise insulation is good, the cabin is quiet, but sometimes cars with poor noise insulation of the wheel arches can come across, so you can hear them when driving on gravel, sand or stones in the cabin.

Engine:

Available in trim levels 2 petrol engines... The first with a volume of 2.0 liters and a capacity of 150 hp. works in conjunction with a 6-speed manual transmission or 5-speed "automatic". Its power in the city is enough for a relatively quiet ride. At the same time, the acceleration dynamics is not bad, but it is unlikely to satisfy fans of fast starts. The motor pulls the car well at any speed, up to more than six thousand rpm.

The second gasoline engine is 2.4 l, 190 hp. available only with automatic transmission. Its power is enough for overtaking on the track, there is no shortage. Both units are equipped with i-VTEC system, which changes the timing and valve lift.

It is recommended to fill the tank with 92nd gasoline, but if there is no saving goal, you can refuel with 95th gas. In this case, the crossover will behave a little faster. There is also an ECON mode for maximum savings fuel, it is convenient to use when driving on a highway with cruise control or in city traffic jams when you do not need to accelerate anywhere.

The automatic transmission shifts speeds smoothly and almost imperceptibly, at low speeds the car accelerates quite quickly, at high speeds for 70 km / h if you press the gas pedal, it accelerates not so willingly. If necessary with paddle shifters you can switch to a low one or two gears, then the dynamics reappear and you can, for example, overtake. The brakes work well, the brake pedal is quite responsive and informative.

In rainy weather Due to the aerodynamic properties of the body, a lot of dirt is stuffed under the hood. When driving through puddles, water can get on the alternator belt, so the water element is not for Honda CR-V 4. It is better to go around deep puddles. There are quite large openings in the front bumper, therefore, when buying, it is advisable to immediately install a radiator guard on the bumper and an engine (crankcase) guard.

In winter, at a temperature in frosts of about -35, the car starts without problems. The stove works well and properly, the interior does not warm up instantly, of course, but when it warms up, it gets warm enough. Climate control allows you to set the temperature once and forget about it.

Controllability:

On the road excellent road holding car. The handling is good, it enters the turns confidently even at high speed. Body roll is felt and within acceptable limits. It picks up speed about 150 km / h without any problems. The steering wheel is soft and comfortable, but the feedback is rather poor. With strong side gusts of wind, the crossover can deviate slightly from the course, the large size and shape of the body affects.

The suspension is moderately soft, most of the holes pass unnoticed.

Four-wheel drive AWD is permanently connected, electronics redistribute torque between the wheels for optimal driving. When starting off, rear-wheel drive works in conjunction with the front-wheel drive, as the speed increases, the rear wheels "turn off" and the car becomes front-wheel drive. But one has only to allow the rear axle to be demolished or to drive into a slippery area, as the drive to the desired wheels is automatically connected, and the stabilization and stability systems are activated.

17cm ground clearance is sufficient for most urban situations and driving on country roads... For example, the car drives into most of the side walls without problems and does not touch them with anything. Snow drifts on roads and median lanes are easy to overcome. For outdoor recreation, in most cases, the ground clearance and all-wheel drive will be enough, you should not drive into medium and heavy off-road terrain.

Summary: city, comfortable, economical, off-road family car.

Like: families with or without children, travelers, both men and women.

Will not like: for drivers with a sporty driving style.

Video review of the car Honda CR-V:

Test drive Honda CR-V 2014 in the "Moscow rules" program with Anastasia Tregubova:

Off-road test of the 2014 Honda CR-V, driving on a snow-covered track from Everyman Driver:

This video clearly shows how the AWD intelligent all-wheel drive system, which is written about in the review, works. No matter how much the girl tries to put the car into a controlled or uncontrolled skid, all her attempts are successfully blocked by the electronics, not allowing the car to turn around and allow the rear axle to be demolished.

In some moments it is clear that it was almost possible to "initiate" a skid and the car is about to start sliding, but it was not there - the intelligent four-wheel drive again nullifies all attempts, precisely calibrating the torques of each individual wheel. Something, but you won't be able to rip your fill on this crossover with the Real-time AWD system turned on 🙂

If you have anything to say about this crossover, if you drive a CR-V, share your impressions and observations. If you just want to buy this car, you can also ask your questions in the comments. Indeed, only through the exchange of experience can you make the right choice and enjoy driving without breakdowns.

Lamp replacement

Headlight bulbs

Note
Use the following lamps for replacement:

  1. High beam lamps: 60W (HB3).
  2. Dipped beam: 55 W (H11, halogen lamp), 35 W (D4S, high voltage gas discharge lamp).

High beam lamps

Note

Attention

  1. Halogen bulbs get very hot during operation, so oil, dirt or scratches on the bulb can quickly damage the bulb due to overheating.
  2. The headlights are adjusted at the factory. Generally, headlights do not need to be adjusted. However, if you frequently carry heavy loads in the luggage compartment, have your dealer adjust the headlights to suit the prevailing driving conditions.
  3. Halogen bulbs are designated “HB3” and “H11”. When replacing a burned-out lamp, hold the new lamp only by its metal base, do not touch the glass bulb with your fingers and protect it from contact with solid objects. If there are greasy fingerprints on the lamp bulb, wipe it with a clean cloth dampened with alcohol.
  4. Diffusers of outdoor lighting and signaling devices (headlights, brake lights, etc.) may temporarily fog up after a car wash or when driving in rainy weather. This does not adversely affect the functioning of outdoor lighting and signaling devices. However, if you find a significant amount of water or ice on the inside of the lens, have your dealer check the vehicle.

Low beam lamps

  • Disconnect the electrical connector.

Note
Press down on the locking tab to disconnect the electrical connector.

  • To remove a burnt out lamp, turn it to the left.
  • Insert the new bulb into the headlight and turn it to the right.
  • Connect the electrical connector.

High voltage discharge lamps

High voltage discharge lamps can remain at high voltage after the headlights have been turned off for a long period of time. Do not attempt to test or replace HV discharge lamps yourself. Have your dealer check and replace the high / low beam bulbs.

2012 Honda CR-V

2012 Honda CR-V is the brainchild of the Japanese auto giant Honda, which was born at the end of 2011, and immediately fell in love with many, both in Japan and far beyond its borders. The model belongs to the fourth generation and is now almost one of the best compact models in its SUV class. There are a lot of admirers and fans of this car, otherwise! Through minor improvements to the exterior and overall design of the car, Honda has significantly improved the economic and dynamic performance of this car. So the 5-door 5-seater station wagon eventually began to look more interesting and attractive. Of course, a frenzied breakthrough and jump over several steps in the Japanese design craft is not observed, but the chrome crossbars in the radiator grille and the air intake cut in the front bumper do not spoil the appearance of the modernized car in the least. The rear-end changes have also moved towards overall styling and are consistent with conventional design concepts.

Overall dimensions of the machine

  • 4571 mm - vehicle length
  • 1820 mm - width of this model
  • 1685 mm - vehicle height
  • 2620 mm - the wheelbase of this car

And above all, with its small overall dimensions, the interior of this model combines many positive qualities.

Auto salon

AT 2012 Honda CR-V saloon - only positive impressions, the interior is large, bright, The windshield has good visibility, and large side windows allow the front passenger to admire the scenery outside the window. The steering is equipped with electric power steering, and in the previous generation there was a power steering. The dashboard is made of soft and stylish plastic, but if very heavy metal objects get on it, dents can remain. The dashboard has completely changed in the model, the configuration of the front console has also changed. Now it is monolithic, with a small storage compartment. Rear seat passengers do not rub their knees on the front seats during long journeys. They also do not get depressed because of the lack of free space above their heads, there is just enough.
