Used Renault Fluence pros and cons. A pinch of France: choosing a Renault Fluence with mileage

R enault Fluence was officially released to the public in August 2009. The car was intended to replace the Megane II three-compartment hatchback (notchback) in the markets where the car was sold. However, given that this version was not in great demand, it was decided to build a classic sedan on the Renault / Nissan C platform. And to make the car more attractive - to increase the wheelbase to 2,700 millimeters and make it large enough, closer to the dimensions of segment D cars.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

By the way, three months earlier, the premiere of the same car, but bearing the Renault Samsung SM3 nameplate, took place in Seoul. The fact is that Renault Fluence was developed by the international team of engineers of the Renault-Nissan alliance as a global car, and the Korean design team took a very active part in this work. The result is a true child of globalization, marketed in over 80 countries. Well, since the car was designed as “comparable in comfort to the D-segment, but affordable”, it was maximally unified with other models, including previous generations. So, the Megane III platform was combined with the power units from the Megane II and the rear suspension from the Nissan Sentra, and the air conditioning system, the steering wheel and the design of the front panel were unified with the Megane III and Laguna III.

Initially, the production of Fluence was launched at the Oyak-Renault plant in the Turkish city of Bursa, then the assembly line was launched in the city of Santa Isabel (Argentina). Soon SKD was set up at the Avtoframos plant in Moscow, which was replaced in 2010 by full-cycle production. A plant in Busan, Korea, was in charge of cars for Asian markets.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

The range of engines with which Renault Fluence was equipped cannot be called particularly wide. It included 1.6 and 2.0 liter gasoline engines with a capacity of 106 to 140 hp. There was also a 1.5-liter turbodiesel in four variants, capable of producing from 85 to 110 hp. Together with them, five- and six-speed manual gearboxes, a classic four-speed automatic transmission, a variator and a double-clutch robot could work. However, in some markets, such as Argentina and Brazil, a sports version of the Fluence GT was also offered, equipped with a two-liter 180-horsepower Renault TCe 180 engine in combination with a six-speed manual transmission.

Fluence sales in Russia started in 2010. Initially, versions were offered with a 1.6-liter K4M engine with a capacity of 106 hp, paired with either the classic four-speed DP0 automatic transmission or the JR5 manual gearbox. Later, buyers were offered a more powerful version with a two-liter M4R engine, aggregated with an FK0 variator or a TL4 MCP.

In 2012, Fluence has undergone a major restyling: its appearance was brought in line with the new corporate style, there were xenon headlights, a USB port in the audio system and standard daytime running lights. The updated model was presented at the Istanbul Motor Show, and its production at the Moscow Avtoframos plant began in April 2013. In addition, a 1.6-liter H4M engine with 114 hp was added to the range of power units. paired with a DK0 variator.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

Sales of Fluence developed quite successfully: at the price of basic configurations, the model competed with mass cars of the B + segment, and in size, a set of options and space in the cabin - with cars not only of the C segment, but also D. However, the crisis affected the popularity of Fluence in the most devastating way: in 2015, only 1,408 Russian buyers chose this sedan, and in March 2016, Renault's management decided to stop production of the model in Moscow and withdraw it from the market.

Yet Fluence still accounts for a significant share of the passenger car fleet and is present in the secondary market, although its liquidity is assessed as low. Why? First of all, due to a number of contradictions inherent in the model, the ambiguity of the assessment of many of its qualities by the owners and the general image of the brand. Owners really evaluate Fluence very differently, and this applies to both the model as a whole and its individual characteristics. So what is Fluence loved and hated for? It turned out to be rather difficult to answer this question, since we had to exclude from the story those qualities that caused diametrically opposite reactions, and leave only those in which the owners showed sufficient unanimity.

Hatred # 5: "The French are such entertainers ..."

French designers have always been distinguished by a certain originality of their solutions. Sometimes these solutions turned out to be successful, sometimes not very, but any such solution took time to get used to. Fluence in this regard is no exception, and it's good that the horn button is located in the place we are used to, in the center of the steering wheel, and not on the end of the steering column switch.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

But the originality of the steering column joystick with many audio control buttons, which must be pressed blindly, since the joystick is completely hidden by the steering wheel spokes, is noted by almost all users. Someone writes that they could not get used to it, someone else - that over time they got used to it and even began to consider it very convenient, but this does not change the situation. The hands-free system is also located there, and it is completely incomprehensible why the "pause / call reception" was made with a second delay. In the reviews they write that at first it simply leads to a stupor.

On the radio itself, to switch to the next track, you need to press the arrow pointing backward, and the previous one - forward.

Another strange solution is the placement of the keys for controlling the heated front seats in their lower part. Someone even writes that if the designers shoved these buttons under the seats, it would still be more convenient. Well at least there is a heating indicator on the front panel. True, he is alone for two, that is, for the driver and passenger, and the person sitting behind the wheel cannot always understand whether he pressed the key badly, or the front passenger who left his seat in the heating mode.

There are also questions for the cup holders. There are two of them, but you can really use only one - at least if you want to put a bottle of water there. Putting the second will interfere with the manual gearbox shift lever or the machine selector.

It is extremely annoying that the central vents of the ventilation system do not have a shutter covering them. The side deflectors have such flaps, but the central ones do not! That is, if you want to prevent cold air from blowing on the child riding behind, you just have to turn off the air conditioner. And directing the flow of cold air so that it does not blow in your face, you will not succeed either. This is especially true for drivers with less than average height.

There are certain oddities in climate control. So, behind the rightmost "twist" you cannot see the directions of the air flow, plus it is impossible to direct all the airflow to the windshield without turning on the air conditioner.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

Finally, many want to look into the eyes of the person who designed the hood lock. Although, to the credit of French engineers, it is not necessary to open the hood too often, but even experienced owners complain that each time they look for the lock lever for several minutes.

Love # 5: "Full mince!"

A lot of owner stories on the Internet start out quite the same: there was a certain amount of money, they chose a car, asked the price for many models, at first they didn't even look at Renault. And then we saw Fluence in the salon, got acquainted with the equipment - and that's it, we left in this car. Because in no other car for 600 thousand rubles (let me remind you that we are talking about pre-crisis prices) it was impossible to find keyless access, starting the engine from the start / stop button, a cooled glove box, xenon headlights and light and rain sensors. For example, the Expression package included six airbags, a start-stop button with a hands-free card, electric heated seats and mirrors, and electric side mirrors, fog lights, a four-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control, retractable sun curtains at the rear ( such luxury and not all models of premium brands offer), leather-trimmed steering wheel and gearshift lever, driver's seat with adjustable height and lumbar support and steering wheel with tilt angle adjustment.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

Well, and the overall design of the cabin ... The "moonlight" illumination of instruments and controls received special approval. There were cases when people already seemed to have chosen another car, but after seeing how the Fluence was illuminated inside, they bought this model.

Many people note as a significant plus the presence of a timer to turn off the power of all electrical consumers when the engine is off, which excludes the battery discharge due to forgetfulness. True, this timer will provide some problems for fans of arranging a disco in nature during picnic trips, but these are trifles.

A lot of praise goes to the hands-free chip card. Indeed, he approached the car, took any doorknob, Fluence unlocked the doors and removed the alarm. I got behind the wheel, pressed a button, and the car started. He muffled, got out, walked away a couple of steps - and the car itself stood up for protection. No bunches of keys, no key fobs tearing pockets and being forgotten at home, and most importantly - when you come from a store with a lot of bags and packages, you don't have to put them on the ground to press a button on the key fob. What's more, if you leave the windows open, the car will close them for you, so you don't have to go back behind the wheel and start the engine. But not all representatives of premium brands can boast of such a function even now!

Renault Fluence "2009–12

The owners also appreciate the adequate operation of the rain sensor, and even those who previously were skeptical of such systems. The owners also like the materials of the interior trim, the soft plastic on the front panel, and the build quality of the interior as a whole.

But the Fluence salon after restyling for some reason causes much more criticism: “The plastic of the visor of the dashboard and doors has become wooden, where the cool curtains of the rear window and rear doors have disappeared. The speedometer has become electronic, which is also for every fan, the seats are different, and the fabric on them is somehow cheap, the head restraints have also changed not for the better. "

Hatred 4: South Stream Trouble

The name Fluence should evoke associations with a flowing stream. Only now it is felt that this flow is southern ... Indeed, neither France nor Turkey, from where the first cars were imported, can boast of severe winters, so the creators of Fluence simply did not think about a number of aspects of winter operation. No, no one complains about problems with starting the engine at negative temperatures - both at minus 20 and at minus 30, the car starts up, if not the first time, but quite properly, but there are other problems - large sleds and small sleighs.

Firstly, in the cold the suspension stiffens, and there are extraneous noises during its operation: the anti-roll bar bushings creak. The sound was especially clearly audible when the tall “speed bumps” were passing after an overnight stay.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

Secondly, the car practically does not warm up at idle - only on the move. Covers made of leatherette for gearbox and handbrake levers freeze and crack. The trunk lock button freezes, and as a result, the trunk may start to open spontaneously. The gearbox link cable freezes.

The air exchange is not very well organized: in severe frosts, the rear door windows are almost always in frost. But the most unpleasant thing is that this frost is also on the inside of the roof, and during the thaw, thawed condensation begins to drip on you.

It is very difficult to clean the Fluence from snow, but it must be cleaned. Otherwise, the snow clogs the niche between the hood and the windshield, the washer fluid will not flow down the chute into the holes for its drainage, which means it will soak the snow on the chute and, with all its poisons, be sucked into the cabin, since this is where the air intake is located. But to clean this area, it is imperative to open the hood, the cover of which prevents the wiper blades from being lifted! Naturally, in this case, the brushes tend to freeze to the windshield: their resting zone is located below the level of warm air blowing over the windshield.

The windshield is generally desperately freezing at the edges, especially below, since warm air is supplied to it from the deflector located in the center of the upper part of the front panel. The regular brushes themselves have earned only one assessment: "the junk is full, they dub in winter and only carry dirt on the glass, you need to change it right away."

Renault Fluence "2009–12

The situation with the rear window is no better. It is electrically heated, but the power of the heating elements is by no means sufficient. The heating melts the snow, which flows in the form of water into the chute between the glass and the trunk lid, where the water solidifies safely, and a crust is obtained that increases the size of the trunk lid by almost 5 cm.Then you open the trunk - and this crust of ice hits the glass.

However, in winter such advantage of Fluence is manifested as a very decent sound insulation: “When the real winter finally began, and the roads were covered with snow and ice, then when the leading front wheels slipped, I inadvertently began to suspect that something was wrong with the clutch, because I did not hear the sound of skidding wheels, or the sound of snow beating against the arches and the bottom of the car. It turned out that everything is in order with the clutch, just when the windows are closed, you can't hear the car slipping. "

Love # 4: "Size Matters"

The creators of Fluence initially tried to make the internal volumes of the model its main competitive advantage, and we must admit that they did it very well. As a matter of fact, the statement that the model was chosen because of the spaciousness in the cabin is found, if not in every review, then certainly in the vast majority of them.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

The interior is spacious - noticeably wider than, for example, in the Mercedes C-class. Its space is visually expanded by the shape of the front panel. You sit freely, nothing presses, you don't push your elbows with the passenger. The range of seat adjustment is huge - if you push it all the way back, then you can't reach the pedals. The back row accommodates a child seat and leaves plenty of legroom for the child.

There are, of course, some drawbacks: because of the sloping roof, the ceiling will still press on the heads of the tall rear passengers, the dashboard is somewhat overwhelmed, and the steering wheel covers the upper segment of the speedometer, the central armrest is 4-5 centimeters lower than I would like to ... But these are little things that do not spoil the overall picture.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

But even more enthusiasm is the volume of the trunk. It is 530 liters, and it is deservedly called one of the largest in the class. Some of the owners of Fluence carried a gas stove in the trunk (although it did not fit through the opening, and they had to load the stove through the cabin door), someone transported 220 mm long furniture boards, someone settled in the cabin for the night. All this became possible because the rear sofa can be folded down to create a flat floor platform with the luggage compartment.

Hate # 3: "Watch the noose!"

However, a large trunk is not only good, but also bad. At least sometimes…. In particular, many note that it is almost impossible even for a tall person to get something out of the depths of the luggage compartment without leaning on the bumper and without staining the trousers. In addition, the inner handle on the lid for closing the trunk appeared only after restyling, and before that the owners had to keep a rag in their pockets to wipe their hands after contact with a dirty body part.

Well, in almost every review there is a mention of "arcs", "sickles" or "skis" - massive hinges on which the lid is suspended. These hinges not only eat up part of the volume, preventing the transport of a bulky "mono-load" (for example, only because of them a set of 4 standard-size wheels does not fit in the trunk), but can also damage some fragile item. As a result, Fluence owners get used to "playing Tetris" and placing their luggage very carefully. So they are perplexed: why was it impossible to make these loops a little smaller and not place them closer to the rear fenders?

Love # 3: "I stopped understanding these people ..."

French engineers have always been able to create simple, but very durable and energy-intensive suspensions - just remember the Logan, Duster and Kaptur. Fluence is no exception in this regard. Its suspension has a very trivial design: in front there are MacPherson struts, in the back there is a semi-independent torsion bar, but absolutely all owners rate it with the highest score. The suspension swallows any obstacles; when driving through large holes, only light jolts reach the passengers. There is such a joke among the owners: "I bought Fluence, I stopped understanding people who slow down in front of tram tracks." Slowing down, of course, is necessary to maintain the suspension, but softness when passing, say, speed bumps is guaranteed.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

The owners note that, according to the subjective perception, Fluence is quieter and softer than Renault Laguna - and it was believed that Laguna could compete with Volvo in terms of smoothness! In general, the suspension is both quiet and springy. In addition, it reacts very neutrally to longitudinal rutting and behaves quite predictably on a snowy road. Just what is needed for Russian destinations, where there are broken asphalt, grader, and primers.

Well, 170 mm of ground clearance allows Fluence owners to feel very comfortable when traveling to the country, on a picnic, fishing or mushrooming. In the city, you can safely drive up to any curb without fear of hitting it with a bumper, and outside the city you can drive along a forest road without fear of catching on a snag of some part sticking out under your belly.

Hatred # 2: "A wave rocked us ..."

However, the ride-comfort suspension has a downside. Firstly, it is roll in turns. Although here, as they say, "the opinions of scientists were divided." Some admit the presence of rolls in corners, but believe that they do not go beyond the permissible limits, since the car remains controlled and clearly follows a given trajectory. Others believe that the rolls are still too great, and the driver in the turn begins to drift sideways - either towards the door or towards the center armrest.

Many people note the tendency of the car to start swinging on a gentle wave, and this swing, in which the body in motion repeats all the irregularities of the road, can cause some discomfort: on long trips, Fluence passengers frankly get seasick, and, as you yourself understand, children suffer the most from this and women.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

In addition, the soft suspension in combination with very tenacious brakes (we will talk about them a little later) leads to very powerful and sharp pecks at each deceleration and situations like "in the first couple of days, my wife almost broke her nose on the panel." Well, taking into account the too artificial effort on the steering wheel and "swimming" on the road at highway speeds, the collective mind estimates the Fluence's handling very low - at a C, at best - at a four with two minuses.

Love # 2: Diamond Shaped Anti-theft

Renault Fluence has one more indisputable advantage, which arises, oddly enough, from its own shortcomings and the original image of the Renault brand as a whole (we are only talking about the image within our country). This is an almost complete lack of interest in the car from the hijackers. Statistics say that the risk of theft for this model in 2015-2016 ranged from 0.23 to 1.08%, while, say, for the Audi A8 this figure is 8.5%, and for the Ford Focus - 7. 5%.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

On the Internet, I came across a story about how a person went on vacation, and when he returned, he found that he had not locked the car and forgot the key card inside. The car stood for two weeks open, with the keys inside, and no one was interested! By the way, curious collisions happen with these key cards. The fact is that this device allows you to leave without it, and such a development of events is quite possible: “I started the car, then went home to change my jacket, and accidentally left the key card in my jacket at home. I arrived at the place, but I cannot turn off the car: it does not respond to the start / stop button, the panel lights up "I do not see the key, to turn it off, press and hold the start / stop button." What to do? I am alone. To muffle means not to leave any more: it won't start without a key. I had to leave the car running and open for half an hour. " Pay attention: here too, no one encroached on the car ...

In general, as stated in one of the reviews, Fluence is equipped with a diamond-shaped anti-theft device on the hood.

Hatred # 1: "For those who understand life ..."

Yes, most of the critical arrows fly into the dynamic abilities of Fluence. It should be borne in mind that cars of this model with engines of 1.6 and 2.0 liters are completely different in character. Naturally, the two-liter versions with a CVT cost significantly more and were sold in smaller quantities. But the owners have almost no complaints about them: the car demonstrates quite acceptable dynamics even with 3-4 passengers on board, a roof box and a full trunk and allows confident overtaking on the track, intensively accelerating even from a speed of 100-120 km / h ... The engine is very high-thrust and elastic, a confident set of speed is possible practically in the entire rpm range, and the engine makes noise only after turning over 5000 rpm. The tandem of the variator and engine in this car is beyond praise.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

It is only worth noting that the variator does not like a nervous ride, and that it actually does not provide for a kickdown mode. When the accelerator pedal is pressed sharply, the variator is in a stupor for a couple of seconds, and in order for the acceleration to be predictable, you must press the gas pedal quickly but smoothly. Then all 138 horses under the hood will rush to the cherished goal without hesitation and races.

And a completely different thing - a car with a 106-horsepower engine. This motor really lacks power, and in many reviews the owners write that the car "does not go", especially if you turn on the air conditioning. The versions with a four-speed automatic transmission are especially criticized. Versions with MCP go a little more fun, but not much.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

The biggest and most annoying drawback, which, unfortunately, is rarely mentioned, is the short transmissions of the JR5 manual gearbox. Comfortable speed does not exceed 110 km / h, because at a higher speed the annoying hum of the engine begins to break through the very good sound insulation of the engine compartment, because 110 km / h is almost four thousand revolutions.

The situation is aggravated to the limit by the electronic gas pedal damped for the sake of ecology. In traffic jams, it is impossible to be quick: I just aimed to get into the hole, pressed the gas ... And the car thinks, thinks, thinks how it has decided and went - that's all, it's too late, there are no holes ... Because of this very pedal, many write, that subjectively creates a feeling that the engine power is only 70-80 horses, instead of the passport 106.

Indeed, when you press the gas pedal for the first second, nothing happens at all, and then a smooth increase in revolutions begins. The same thing happens when you release the pedal - for a few more seconds the rpm does not decrease, and then a smooth reset begins. The electronic gas pedal is a voltage converter that sends a linear signal to the commutator - that is, regardless of how you press the pedal, the throttle valve opens and closes smoothly, with a second delay, and it seems that the pedal is not connected to the valve with a cable, as on conventional machines, but an elastic band. But in the end, attempts to vigorously overtake or a sharp start from a traffic light can easily end in an accident.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

It is worth noting that there are much less complaints about the restyled versions with a 114-horsepower engine in combination with a variator. And a lot is written about the excellent braking dynamics, corresponding to a much faster car. One has only to take into account that the front brakes slightly overbrake in relation to the rear ones (this also affects the difference in wear of the front and rear pads), and the same effect is created as on rally cars with diluted contours: when braking in a turn, the stern begins to demolish.

Love # 1: "I have no screwdriver ..."

Few people associate the Renault brand image with the word “reliability”. Reliability is the Japanese or the Germans, but here ... Probably, the memory that once in childhood some uncle Vasya told that his Renault or Peugeot constantly broke down ... But the fact remains: the main advantage of Renault Fluence owners find it reliable. And these are not empty words.

The owners say that over the years of coexistence, their favorite cars managed to see the perfectly smooth autobahns of Germany, stand in traffic jams at a temperature overboard of about 40 degrees in sunny Italy, more than once drove companies to graders in Karelia, patiently counted bumps on the roads of Poshekhonya that were killed in the trash. ... In general, they were operated in completely different modes, but without serious breakdowns and other excesses.

Renault Fluence "2009–12

As a result, many of those who bought Fluence as a pass-through option for three years began to think about whether such a car is worth selling. Indeed, you won't get a lot of money for it, liquidity is low (remember about Uncle Vasya and his stories that have sunk into the soul), and the car regularly performs its functions, does not pull money, does not annoy with breakdowns, and everything else has already become a habit. The 1.6 K4M engine can be considered unkillable and begins to eat up oil with runs over 300 thousand kilometers, the clutch under a normal driver lives up to 200 thousand, the chassis requires intervention with runs of 180-200 thousand, and Fluence repairs are relatively inexpensive. So such cars become family favorites, receiving affectionate nicknames "Flyu", "Flyunya", "Flyusha" or "Lucy" ...

Are your emotions from Renault Fluence?

04.02.2018

Renault Fluence is a French car produced by the Renault-Nissan alliance. This model is presented on our market not so long ago (since 2010), but it has already become very popular among domestic motorists. There are several reasons for this - the low cost (the price tag for a car is not much higher than that of the same Logan), good equipment, a spacious interior, and presentable appearance. But there are motorists who are suspicious of French cars, considering them not reliable enough. Therefore, today I decided to find out how things are with the reliability of this bestseller and what to look for when buying a used Fluence on the secondary market.

A bit of history:

Renault Fluence was first presented in 2004 at the Louis Vuitton Classic car festival in England, and then at the Paris auto show. It was a coupe showpiece that was created by designer Patrick le Quiman, world famous as the creator of Ford Sierra. The development of the serial version of the car was carried out by a group of French designers led by Shamir Sherfan. The premiere of the production model Fluence took place in 2009 at the Frankfurt Auto Show, but official sales did not start until 2010. The new sedan, was built on the same platform with Renault Megan 3, the front chassis was borrowed from this model, but the rear was taken from the Nissan Sentra. The assembly was carried out by the Oyak-Renault plant in the Turkish city of Bursa, and Renault Megan 2 (sedan) was also produced there. In the Renault lineup, Fluence replaced the second-generation Megan sedan.

In 2012, Renault Fluence underwent restyling, during which the car received an updated design corresponding to the corporate style of Renault. The debut of the updated version of the car took place at the Istanbul Auto Show. The main changes took place in the front of the car - a large corporate logo and new front optics appeared. There were also changes in the trim levels - they began to install xenon headlights, a multimedia system, a USB port in the audio system and regular running lights. In Russia, the assembly of the updated version of the car began in April 2013 at the Renault-Russia plant (Avtoframos). Another facelift took place in 2015. This time, the changes affected the rear of the car - rear LED lights and brake lights became available. Today it is known that the Renault-Nissan alliance is in the final stages of development of the second generation Renault Fluence. Unofficial sources claim that the sedan is based on the fourth generation Megan.

Weaknesses and disadvantages of Renault Fluence with mileage

The paintwork of the car is moderately soft and holds up well, with the exception of the plastic elements of the body. So, for example, the varnish from the front bumper could begin to peel off after a couple of years of operation. Things are not much better with chrome elements (corporate emblem, lower grille and PTF linings) - after a couple of winters they become cloudy and then begin to climb. Over time, in the places of contact of the seals with the body, the paint is erased to metal. This problem is unpleasant, but not critical - it is eliminated by pasting problem areas with a protective film (how to do it yourself I wrote in the article).

Over the years, problems may arise with the corrosion resistance of the body, especially if the car is operated in a metropolis, where I generously sprinkle the roads with chemicals in winter. Despite this, it is impossible to say that the car body rots badly, and no one has ever considered it to be problematic. The mushrooms appear most quickly on the sills, wheel arches and the hood. Also in the risk zone is a niche under the windshield, bottom hinges, side members, the joint between side members and the engine shield (these places are not galvanized).

Among other troubles of Renault Fluence, one can note the unreliability of the end switches of the locks and the subsidence of the hinges of the rear doors and trunk. Over time, door locks begin to creak (eliminated by grease), and by 60-80 thousand km the rollers in the door opening stops are erased (clicks appear). If an unpleasant ringing sound is heard while driving in the passenger compartment, check the condition of the aluminum underbody protection, it often bends and knocks on the muffler. The windshield is sensitive to temperature changes (it may burst), therefore, in severe frosts, it is not recommended to turn on the glass heating until the interior warms up at least a little. If the car is equipped with a rain sensor, then when replacing the glass, it is advisable to buy a new sensor, since after replacement, air bubbles may appear under the lens.

Power units

Renault Fluence has a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines with good dynamics and efficiency: gasoline - 1.6 (106 and 116 hp), 2.0 (138 and 143); diesel - 1.5 (86, 105 and 110 hp). Engine 1.6 ( K4M) is well known to fans of the brand for the models Logan, Clio and Megan. The most common problem that owners face is phase regulator failure. As a rule, the ailment manifests itself after 120,000 km of run, so it is recommended to change the phase regulator with every second timing belt replacement. In the initial stage, the disease manifests itself with a characteristic crackle. If the problem is not eliminated, traction will deteriorate in the future, and engine interruptions are also possible. A feature of this motor is a difficult start after a long stay in the cold season. When contacting a service, dealers first of all offer to update the software of the engine control unit, replace the spark plugs and clean the throttle valve. Unfortunately, these procedures do not always solve the problem.

Often, starting difficulties are caused by a malfunction of the starter fuse or the solenoid relay, and sometimes the starter itself, as well as the use of low-quality fuel. It is worth mentioning such common troubles as "triple action" and floating speed. In the first case, the culprit may be the ignition coil, injectors and spark plugs; with high mileage, you need to check the compression. In the second case, the crankshaft position sensor and the ignition coil are most often to blame. The thermostat on this power unit rarely serves more than 80,000 km, then it starts to leak and wedges. It is not worth tightening with its replacement, as this can lead to mixing of oil with antifreeze. The fuel level sensor is not famous for its reliability either - it changes assembled with the fuel pump.

Despite the fact that the HR16DE-H4M engine (116 hp) is more recent and equipped with a timing chain drive (depending on the quality of service, the chain with tensioners serves from 120,000 to 200,000 km), it is less reliable. The most unpleasant problem is considered to be oil consumption, which appears on the mileage of 120-150 thousand km. In addition, in severe frosts, the engine has problems with starting and can stall at idle (most likely, the ignition unit must be replaced). Experienced car owners with such an engine have already gotten used to this problem - they change the candles more often, and during start-up they work with the gas pedal, this slightly improves the situation, but, in general, this is an unpleasant feature of the engine. Of less significant troubles, a relatively small resource of engine mounts can be noted (vibrations appear) and burnout of the exhaust pipe ring.

A two-liter engine is more common on popular Nissan cars (Teana, Qashqai,) than on Renault. Of the common malfunctions of this engine, it can be noted: increased oil consumption - most often the problem is caused by a large amount of carbon deposits in the cylinders or severe wear of the oil scraper rings. A small resource of the timing chain, when it stretches, dips appear with sharp acceleration, dynamics deteriorates, idle turns float. Often bothers the owners and unstable idle - is eliminated by cleaning the throttle valve. Over time, the alternator belt begins to whistle, if there is no time to replace the belt, you can try to tighten it.

Of the less common malfunctions, it is worth noting the problem of cylinder head cracking. If cracks have already appeared on the block, it is important, when changing the candles, not to apply a lot of effort when tightening, otherwise the cracks will go along the thread, the engine will start to triple and the disease will progress. If there is a problem in the spark plug well (usually in the first one), a lot of antifreeze accumulates. Treatment - replacement of the block head. In general, this motor can be safely called reliable, the declared resource is 300-350 thousand km of run.

Renault Fluence diesel power units

Diesel engines look preferable to gasoline units in terms of fuel consumption, but the high cost of maintenance and the capricious dCi fuel system make these engines not much more economical than gasoline ones. Among the main disadvantages, one can note the high probability of injector failure on a mileage of 70-100 thousand km (the worse the quality of the fuel used, the less the resource), the elements of the dephi fuel system are especially vulnerable. If faulty injectors are not replaced for a long time, this can lead to cranking of the piston liners. The turbine is another weak point of these engines; on some copies it became unusable after 60,000 km. Also, it is worth noting the high probability of early failure of the EGR valve and injection pump.

Another problem that owners of cars with diesel engines face is the small resource of the particulate filter. The cost of a new filter scares even wealthy owners, so many remove it when the first signs of malfunction appear. If you do not change the oil in a timely manner, lengthening the replacement intervals, the connecting rod bearings can turn. It is fair to say that most problems are likely only with poor quality service. Therefore, when purchasing a car with dci, you should change the oil, filters, etc. in time, in general, all that is required, and refuel at proven gas stations.

Transmission

Renault Fluence was equipped with 5 and 6-speed mechanics, a 4-speed automatic transmission and a variator (installed with a two-liter engine and a restyled 1.6). The manual transmission is generally reliable, but on some copies of the first years of production, the owners complained of twitching at the start after a long drive in traffic. The problem was solved only by replacing the clutch kit. Closer to 80,000 km, the clutch master cylinder and release bearing may require attention. After 100,000 km of run, the bearings begin to make noise, but this does not affect the performance of the transmission. If, with the arrival of cold weather after a long parking, the gearshift lever begins to walk tight, it is necessary to lubricate or replace the cable. The reason is that moisture gets into the casing in which the cable moves and freezes. The clutch nurtures more than 100,000 km.

An automatic transmission is not a very successful unit, and its resource largely depends on driving style and service intervals. The main disadvantage of this type of transmission is jerking and jerking during gear changes. Most often, the culprit for this behavior of the machine is the incorrect operation of the pressure modulation solenoid valve. It is also worth noting the poor design of the valve body. All this is aggravated by overheating (there are no overheating sensors) and a rigid setting of the GTR blocking.

The variator (Jatco) in terms of reliability looks preferable to the classic automatic transmission, but, despite this, it cannot be called problem-free. So, for example, under heavy loads (cold racing, long-term driving at maximum speed, etc.), there is a high probability of premature transmission failure due to damage to the cones and chain. With low mileage (up to 100,000 km) at low revs (up to 1,500), the variator may begin to creak, gnash, this is due to the sagging of the belt. To fix the problem, you need to update the transmission control unit software. Also, on a run up to 100,000 km, the variator pump pressure relief valve (jerks appear), the sun gear of the planetary gear and bearings may fail. With careful operation and timely maintenance (50-60 thousand km), the variator can last more than 200,000 km without expensive repairs.

Resource chassis, steering and brakes Renault Fluence

Renault Fluence is equipped with a semi-independent suspension: in front - MacPherson strut, in the back - a twisted beam. As for the reliability of the suspension, in general it has proven itself on the positive side, but with the arrival of cold weather it can bother you with extraneous squeaks and knocks. Cars assembled in Turkey have a small clearance of 125 mm, if ground clearance plays an important role for you, you can eliminate the deficiency by installing struts from Renault Laguna with increased ground clearance. If you do not take into account the struts and stabilizer bushings (on average, they serve 30-50 thousand km), then the first repair of the suspension will have to be done no earlier than 80-100 thousand km. The main weak point of the suspension is the shock absorber boot - it can begin to delaminate after 30,000 km. The problem is solved by installing anthers from the VAZ 2110 and bumpers from the VAZ 2108. With the timely elimination of this defect, the shock absorbers will last at least 80,000 km. For neat drivers, the replacement of racks is carried out at a mileage of 120-150 thousand km.

Ball joints, silent blocks of levers and other rubber bands, as a rule, change after 90-100 thousand km. In the steering system, the first problems appear closer to 150,000 km - the rack begins to knock. It is also possible that extraneous knocks may appear due to problems in the spline connection (gives to the steering wheel while driving on an uneven road). The brake system has one interesting feature - the rear hubs are made in one piece with the brake discs, fortunately, the resource of these parts is not very different (120-150 thousand km). In cars with a two-liter engine, due to an unsuccessful location, the vacuum hose valve may freeze, as a result, the pedal becomes tight or may not be pressed at all. To protect yourself from possible troubles, it is recommended to put an additional casing on the hose.

Salon and electrical

Despite the low cost of the car, the quality of the finishing materials does not raise questions. The only thing that can be criticized a little is leatherette, from which the steering wheel braid and seat upholstery are made - it quickly loses its presentation, and cracks appear on the sidewalls of the seats over time. As for the acoustic comfort, the interior seems quiet compared to classmates. Over the years, the silence can be disturbed by the head restraints of the front seats, the armrest and trim in the area of \u200b\u200bthe seat belts (a creak appears). In the cold season, many complain about the "freezing" left leg. To eliminate the drawback, you need to close the gaps between the air duct pipes.

Of the weak points of the Renault Fluence electrical equipment, a small resource of the heater motor can be noted - it starts to make noise by 100,000 km. Repairing a motor is not a cheap pleasure (you need to replace the collector), but buying a new one will cost even more - about 300 bucks. After 3-5 years of operation, the keyless entry range decreases. The reason is that the contacts in the key antenna are oxidized. The external temperature sensor is also not famous for its reliability. If the sensor is defective, the climate system may not work correctly. There are also malfunctions in the audio system - it spontaneously turns off, resets the settings, turns off the speakers. If the car often bothers with minor failures in electronic systems, first of all check if the terminals are well connected to the battery, usually the reason is precisely in them.

Outcome:

It has established itself as a reliable, comfortable and unpretentious car, which, even after 100,000 km, with careful operation, externally and technically, can have a state close to ideal. In fairness, it must be said that the model has a number of typical shortcomings, but unlike many competitors, they do not require significant capital investments to eliminate them.

If you are the owner of this car model, please describe the problems that you had to face during the operation of the car. Perhaps it is your feedback that will help the readers of our site when choosing a car.

Best regards, editors AutoAvenu

Cars originally from France are traditionally less popular in Russia than their German competitors. Unless, of course, we are not talking about Logan and its derivatives - we have a very special attitude towards cheap foreign cars. It would seem that the closest relatives of the Renault-Nissan concern should be popular, but no. They are content with the role of always catching up in the competition for the Russian market, focusing on Logan and promoting Nissan-branded C + class crossovers and sedans produced in Russia.

So the hero of today's story, the Renault Fluence sedan, is not one of the super popular. It's just a rather original car, with its own advantages and disadvantages, but with "stuffing" from the units that our customers love.

Fluence replaced the sedan model Megane II in the company's lineup. , as you know, appeared only in the form of three- and five-door hatchbacks and a station wagon, and the sedan was left for countries where such a body is valued. It was launched in Brazil and Turkey, and in Korea it was produced under the name Samsung SM3.

In the photo: Renault Mégane II Classic "2003–06 and Renault Mégane III"2008–12

Its relationship with the Megane III cannot be hidden, but it is more difficult to guess that it is a "relative" of a whole heap of cars on the Nissan C platform. Among them are the bestsellers Qashqai and X-Trail and the much less famous Scenic microvans, the ancestor in the person of Megane II, Koleos almost unknown to us, and many others ... Unlike the brilliant European Megane III, the sedan did not get a huge range of engines, but in all markets the most popular "sizes" are available for it - gasoline 1.6, 2.0 and diesel 1.5 liters. In Europe, both the electric Fluence Z.E. and the powerful 2.0 TCe with a 180 hp engine were offered. from.

The sedan's base is 6 centimeters longer, and the suspensions are tuned in a completely different way. And oddly enough, this radically changes the perception of the machine. If Megane seems tough, then Fluence is comfortable and flexible. It lacks a strange "horse" French landing - the seats are installed 3 cm lower, and the driver can lower even closer to the floor, and at the same time there is enough space behind.

At the same time, all the French "chips" are included: here and keyless access in the initial configuration, and soft sofas, and a fanciful instrument panel with unusual ergonomics of the driver's and front passenger's seats, and excellent sound insulation, and an abundance of plastic in the design. And of course the indispensable Jatco variators. In general, Fluence has something to love, but the design is fraught with many "pitfalls" for the owner. But more about that.

Body and interior

This is not to say that the ancestors of the model became famous as absolutely non-corrosive, but no one considered them to be problematic either. Compared to its predecessor, the number of plastic parts in the body structure has decreased, the front fenders and hood are now made of steel. But the body did not rust anymore: the paintwork is holding up well, however, and the cars are still fresh.

Oddly enough, there is no galvanizing on the bottom panels and side members, and the contact points of side members with curbs, the joint of side members and engine shield remain at risk. We will also write a niche under the windshield there. The cars are still relatively fresh, but sometimes there are complaints. And not at all a funny defect - the rear doors sag, and the seal erases the paint on the doorway of the door. Dealers eliminate this defect under warranty at first, but in the future, all costs will fall on the owner, so it is better to stick the films on the top of the opening. Locks creak very strongly, and it is difficult to determine the source of the sound - it seems that door trims are creaking. Fortunately, a simple lubricant helps a lot. Very early, by only 60 thousand mileage, the rollers in the door opening limiters are erased and also begin to click. But here the lubrication no longer helps, the roller needs to be changed.

In the photo: Renault Fluence "2009-12

The heat-shielding aluminum screen on the bottom bends regularly when driving through puddles and begins to touch the muffler - the soundtrack is extremely annoying. The windshield does not like frost extremely and can crack even with normal operation of the climate system in winter. And if the car has a rain sensor, then it is better to buy a new lens when replacing the glass - there is less chance that air bubbles remain under it. The interior is not bad, but the seats and steering wheel with eco-leather on pre-styling cars wipe off very quickly. On restyling with the steering wheel, the problem was solved. But if the interior is dusty, then this is a consequence of improper installation of the filter - the process here is very original, the filter needs to be squeezed to be squeezed into the space allotted to it, and sometimes it simply does not straighten out inside.

By the way, the interior is very quiet against the background of classmates, and the quality of the finish is not bad, you just need to get used to the extremely unusual design and amorphous chairs. And another small, but annoying moment: after the wear of the native wiper blades, you will undoubtedly be "pleased" by the problem of choosing something to replace. There is Bayonet Arm, and there are few alternatives. We'll have to choose between expensive and ... very expensive models.

Electrical and electronics

I must say right away that the lamps in the headlights here change normally, and the skills of a proctologist are no longer required. The headlamp simply pops out and the bulbs are replaced. But there is a problem with the rear lights: they need to be periodically removed and the contacts cleaned from oxides, since the negative terminal is very overloaded in the headlight connector - it can simply burn out. Use special lubricants for best results. Another serious problem is the heater motor, its resource is about a hundred thousand kilometers of city run. The brushes simply erase the manifold and the motor starts to stop and then stands up forever. Road repair requires replacement of the collector, and there is always a chance for poor quality service. By the way, the price of a new motor is more than 300 euros, which is a bit off-budget. After several years of operation, the range of operation of the keyless entry system decreases, due to the oxidation of the antenna contacts in the key over time. The external temperature sensor breaks down regularly, which entails incorrect operation of the climate system.

Suspensions, brakes and steering

The car is low, but many solve the problem radically by installing racks with Renault Laguna with increased ground clearance. If you also put rubber with a high profile, you get almost a "luxury Duster". The suspension itself is surprisingly reliable, the resource of ball joints and shock absorbers is about 100 thousand kilometers, and the levers last even a little longer. The quality of the "native" anthers of the front shock absorbers is below average, the owners recommend the "collective farm" with the installation of parts from the VAZ.

The brakes are completely standard and reliable, except for one "but". The French originality manifested itself in the design of the rear hubs, they are here made at the same time as the brake disc. This is not to say that usually the resource of these nodes varies greatly, but this is a strange decision. Steering without any special frills, reliable. There is only one claim to the electric amplifier: it is very strangely tuned. The car is harsh in steering responses, but the effort in the zero position is extremely low. But the "steering wheel" is filled with effort in sharp turns, trying to compensate for the lack of reactive action on the straight.

Transmission

Manual gearboxes here with a good margin of safety, but in Russia they were only paired with 1.6 engines. On dorestyling cars with the same unit, the "legendary" automatic transmission of the DP2 series was also installed. These four-speed automatic transmissions are famous for their bad temper and excellent luchestvo. The valve body design is not the most successful - frankly cheap, and all this is aggravated by overheating and tight adjustment of the blocking of the gas turbine engine. Moreover, in the Renault version (automatic transmissions of these series are also found on Peugeot, but in a different version), the box is hopelessly lazy and lacks overheating sensors. The resource strongly depends on the driving style, with sparing operation, the box can and can run one and a half hundred thousand kilometers, but for most owners, problems begin with half the mileage. True, the price of the repair is ridiculous by the "box" standards: a complete bulkhead is put on stream and costs from 350 euros.

Jatco CVTs, which are used on 2.0, with restyled 1.6 engines are reliable, but you need to remember about the features of CVT durability. Shock loads, cold races, and high speed and low speed runs all pose the risk of cones and chain damage. The oil must be changed on time. For example, as Mitsubishi recommends for its cars with the same unit, that is, once every 60 thousand. And not at all "indefinitely", like Renault. And yes, oil can be poured not very expensive original Elf Elfomatic, but its under the brand name Nissan NS-2, which, by pure chance, is also produced by Elf, has the same tolerances and works in the same variators, but on Nissan cars. With some luck and careful movement, the resource of such an automatic transmission will be more than 200 thousand kilometers. But, unfortunately, only a couple of attempts to get out of the snowdrift, drive onto the curb “in tightness” and ... now it has been interrupted, bullies and a sharp drop in the resource. By the way, with a 1.6 engine, the variator, paradoxically, has more difficulty than with 2.0 - it overheats when it gets stuck much more often.

Motors

All motors here have long been known to Russian motorists. We know the 1.6 K4M engine from the old Megan, Logans and several other popular models. A more recent 1.6 engine on restyled cars is from the Nissan HR16DE series, it is slightly more powerful and noticeably lighter, the dynamics of the car with it is slightly better. His timing belt is chain, with a resource of 100-180 thousand kilometers and not exorbitant replacement prices. Unfortunately, it is deprived of the indestructibility of K4M, after 100-150 thousand kilometers it can start eating up oil due to coking of the piston group. But there is good news for Renault owners: soon this engine will be known in any car service in the country, because it is it that is installed on Lada Vesta and Xray, which means that there will be no problems either with the service or with spare parts.

25.07.2016

Renault Fluence is radically different from its predecessor Renault Megan 2, not only in appearance, but also in spaciousness. In this article, we will try to figure out what is good about this car and whether it is worth contacting a used car of this brand.

Advantages and disadvantages of Renault Fluence with mileage

Despite the different name and different appearance, Renault Fluence is nothing more than a four-door version of the popular Megan 3 hatchback. Both cars are built on the same platform and differ from each other only in their bodies and a long wheelbase, which is 60 mm more for sedans and station wagons than in the hatchback version. Cars in the sedan body are in great demand in our market, this share has not passed and Fluence, which has gained more popularity than the Megan hatchback.

As operating experience has shown, this car brand does not have significant complaints about corrosion resistance, but you need to take a closer look at some elements. So over time, the branded chrome emblem, which is installed on the trunk lid, can begin to climb. Also, when buying a used car, pay attention to the upper part of the rear pillars, due to the fact that the seal on the doors is hard enough, when moisture and dust gets on it, the paint is wiped off (in order to prevent this damage to the body, these places must be glued transparent).

Another weak point is the door position limiter lock. Over time, due to wear and tear of the mechanism, when opening and closing the doors, it begins to click unpleasantly, as the owners claim, lubrication will not work, and if this problem already exists, you will have to change the retainer.

Motors

Two gasoline engines with a volume of 1.6 and 2 liters are available for a car, and three diesel engines with the same volume of 1.5 liters, but with different power of 90, 105 and 110 horsepower. As the operating experience of Renault Fluence has shown, the engines are much more reliable than those of its predecessor. So, in particular, Renault changed the manufacturer of the variable valve timing mechanism, as a result, this unit no longer causes trouble. Also, the individual ignition coils, the crankshaft position sensor and the rear engine mount have been improved, all of the above parts have a fairly long resource of robots. Moreover, no characteristic problems in the robot of gasoline engines have been identified. It is worth noting that Renault Fluence engines are not picky about fuel and can run on gasoline from AI-91 to AI-98.

Turbodiesel versions have one weak point, due to incorrect installation of the high-pressure fuel pump at the factory, the timing belt wears out prematurely with its pulley, this drawback is eliminated by adjusting the injection pump at an official service center. Otherwise, diesel engines deserve only positive feedback from the owners: low fuel consumption of 4.5 liters per hundred in the combined cycle, good traction power, maximum 240 Nm is achieved already at 2000 rpm and good acceleration dynamics from 0 to 100 in 11.4 seconds for a family car.

Transmission

This model has a large line of gearboxes: five and six-speed mechanics, four and six-speed automatic transmissions and a CVT variator. It should be noted that an automatic machine with a large number of gears and CVTs was installed on cars after restyling in 2013 and these transmissions do not have a large number of negative reviews.

More reliable steel and gearboxes, which were previously used on Renault Megan 2. So, in particular, in the automatic transmission there are no more problems with valve bodies, torque converters and oil seals, and problems in the mechanics, which previously had problems with the clutch and oil leak at the joint of the crankcase gearbox and engine. Lubrication in all types of transmissions is designed for the entire service life of the unit. But when buying a used car, it is recommended to replace the lubricants.

Suspension

A MacPherson strut with an anti-roll bar is installed at the front, and a simple twist beam at the rear. The suspension is quite reliable, but still it has weak points. Most often, the anthers and bumpers of the front struts cause trouble, they are made in one piece, and the anthers themselves are very hard rubber, over time, due to the operation of the bump stop, the boot comes off and as a result the shock absorber rod remains open. Ball joints have a small resource, on average they nurture 60 - 80 thousand kilometers, stabilizer bushings - up to 80 thousand, km, silent blocks of the front levers more than 120 thousand, km. The rest of the front consumables are able to last long enough. The rear suspension is considered eternal; replacement of silent blocks due to wear is extremely rare.

Interior

Due to the specific shape of the body and the lowered roofline in the area of \u200b\u200bthe rear doors, passengers often hit their heads in the upper part of the doorway when getting in and out. The rest of the interior is quite comfortable and practical. Also, very rarely, owners are faced with a breakdown of electronic equipment.

The trunk will appeal to practical and pragmatic owners, its volume is 530 liters and is the most spacious in the class. Despite the large volume of the trunk, the owners revealed a flaw in it, so when the trunk lid is closed, its lugs go inside too much, thereby reducing the useful space.

Outcome

In general, Renault Fluence turned out to be quite reliable, and the identified weaknesses are not particularly significant and are easily eliminated. The purchase of this car can be recommended to family and practical motorists.

Owner reviews

The car was bought new in 2012. Complete set Expression with free hands and music Akramix. Mileage is now 117 thousand. Advantages of the car:

1. One of the largest salons in the class.
2. I liked the work of the motor with the variator. Everything is smart and predictable.
3. Huge, despite the arc, trunk. I fit in it myself!
4. Normal appearance. The machine is really beautiful.
5. Reliability. For 5 years of operation, I only changed consumables.
6. Consumption. On average, about 10.5 liters. On the track, the record is 7.5 liters, the anti-record is 12.0 liters in the city in winter.
7. Paintwork. The car is painted normally, chips do not rot. For 5 years of Moscow operation, everything is normal.
8. Soft, non-punctured suspension. Clearance pleases, suitable for our roads. You can even drive on a dirt road, but without fanaticism.

1. Work of wipers in winter. Well, I could not find an operating mode so that they would not freeze over. There is not enough heating in the rest area.
2. The steering wheel closes the tidy with convenient adjustment.
3. The driver's seat is not very comfortable, the back hurts on long distance passengers.
4. The light is indistinct. The headlights are halogen, maybe it's better on xenon ...
5. The trim on the doors and armrest is overwritten.
6. At first glance, the Shumka is quite good, but the wheel arches still need to be rumored additionally.

In general, I got a very decent device for my money. The assembly is Turkish. Satisfied.

Review of Renault Fluence 2.0 (137 HP) with a 2012 CVT

Video review

Fluence 2012 I liked the look. The engine is enough, and on the rise and in overtaking the car goes briskly, but paired with a variator, this is something with something. In short, for five years I still have not figured out how it works. There is a lot of hum, but little sense! Consumption of more than 10 liters on a combined cycle. The leather upholstery of the driver's seat burst in the first frosts.

The main plus is comfort. This applies to the walker and the interior. Very good lighting (standard xenon), warm in winter, cool in summer.

The main disadvantage is at low temperatures of -36 and below, the roof leads (shallow dents). Not everyone notices this, but almost all Renault have it.

Andrey Getmantsev, drives a Fluence 2.0 (137 hp) CVT 2012

The money is definitely worth it. Comfortable, pleasant to drive, nimble (despite the size) car. Comfort at the level of cars of this class, and maybe even higher:

1. Comfortable seats (compare with Logan - owned 5 years).
2. Large trunk, the ability to fold the entire rear seat in parts, and not just the backs.
3. Comfortable suspension.
4. Galvanized body - does not rust on chips.
5. Ability to fill 92 gasoline (I do).
6. Steady on the track

Disadvantages:

1. The famous double start (the owners will understand) - at a certain temperature (about 0, +/- 7-8 degrees) the car will not start on the first try.
2. Mounting of wipers is not the most common - bayonet, you can't buy it everywhere, and the price is not budgetary.
3. Peculiar appearance when viewed from the front - not everyone likes it, restayl is better, but I have dorestayl.
4. Fuel consumption is higher than the passport.

Dmitry, review of Renault Fluence 1.6 with mechanics 2013

Renault Fluence is a car with a claim to solidity. Among the budget Logans, Grant, KIA - it looks much better.

Among the advantages of a car are a spacious interior and a large trunk. The front panel is beautiful, the instruments are conveniently located, the digital speedometer is easy to read. The ride is smooth, the adaptive steering wheel helps well at high speeds.

The first thing that unpleasantly surprised us was the cost of MOT of a new car. Changing the oil and two filters (work for 30 minutes for an experienced craftsman) costs 15 thousand rubles. The second - at a run of 15 thousand km, the left front stabilizer bar knocked, at 25 thousand km - the right one.

When parking, it is difficult to determine the clearance of the right front fender and the distance to the rear obstacle. The best solution is to install a parking sensor (even the cheapest one for 1,000 rubles). I have 40 years of experience, there were several Renault (Nevada, Laguna), and at first, parking on Fluence was really difficult.

Review of Renault Fluence 1.6 (106 HP) manual transmission 2014

Comfort package. Build Avtoframos. I bought a new one ...

The air conditioner compressor operates in the “on-off” mode, and when the car is moving, the engine thrust either drops or recovers. This is inconvenient, especially when driving in the city.

All pedals are different in height. The lowest gas, the highest is the clutch. When rearranging your foot, you lift up to the stop. Why they pulled up the pedals like that is not clear. In the salon I saw a car with badly glued molding ...

Wipers creak from buying a car. In winter, in the area of \u200b\u200bthe timing belt, it began to make noise, with warming up the noise disappears. I took the car to the dealer, they shrug their shoulders, they say we don't hear anything. On-board computer consumption: city 11.5 liters, highway 7-8 liters.

Advantages:
- Spacious interior.
- 92 gasoline.
- Suspension.
- Large trunk.

disadvantages
- The windscreen washer freezes.
- No steering wheel adjustment for reach.
- Expensive spare parts.
- Long warm-up of the engine in winter.
- The interior creaks in winter.
- Uneven gaps between body elements.

The owner drives a Renault Fluence 1.6 (106 hp) with a 2014 manual.

Visibility could be better, but the wide A-pillars interfere.

People agree to pay money, but to make the salon more noise-proof. Dorestyling had problems with this, but for restyled cars, the French still took steps in the right direction.

The seating material is also not good enough. I would like to see a real solid velor, like on the 1996 Lagoon, collected for Germany.
