Top-of-the-range available powertrains

The complete set of Lada XRay assumes the possibility of using it with two fundamentally different power units. The choice depends on what the customer's preferences are.

The first power unit implies the maximum acceleration speed and dynamics of the car. It consists of a French manual transmission used to build Renault and a 110 horsepower 1.6-liter 16-valve engine from Nissan. It shows decent acceleration values \u200b\u200bfrom 0 to 100 km / h (10.3 seconds) and an average fuel consumption of 6.9 liters per 100 kilometers traveled. The maximum speed is relatively low and is only 171 km / h, but if you face the truth, most of the Russian roads will not allow you to develop it even without the danger of damaging the wheels and suspension.

The second power unit has a significantly higher power and is capable of accelerating the car to 183 km / h. It is assembled from a domestic VAZ engine with a volume of 1.8 liters, containing 122 hp, and an AMT assembled in Russia, five-speed, like the mechanics. It is worth noting that the automatic machine allows you to reduce fuel consumption, however, it provides less driving dynamics and weaker acceleration parameters. However, it is much more convenient to use, as it does not require manual gear changes.

The difference in price between these offers, as the latest news on prices from the designers and developers of Lada Kh-Rei shows, is only 25 thousand rubles (the last version of the power unit is more expensive). This is not a huge amount for someone looking for a truly outstanding vehicle, so both powertrains will be in high demand.

Convenience and safety of the TOP configuration

What is included in the proposed maximum configuration of Lada XRay, the prices of which vary from 698 to 723 thousand rubles, depending on the selected power unit? It is necessary to tell about this in more detail.

The buyer receives an excellent interior design, which can be examined closer with the help of the proposed photos. The design of the luxury version contains leather inserts and looks much more noble than for the basic versions. Of course, driving in such an environment will be very pleasant, given the good level of performance of the car.

The safety of the model is also at a high level (although evil tongues claim that, in comparison with the Vesta released earlier, X-Ray looks unconvincing). There are two airbags - for the driver and front passenger. For each seat (there are five of them in total, including the driver's), height-adjustable belts are equipped to protect drivers and passengers of any height. Special sensors let you know that the belt is not fastened. There is also a special attachment for a child seat (on the back sofa, since the front passenger seat is not designed to carry children).

Also, the safety of the model is provided by the electronic functionality. There is a huge variety of built-in systems that work automatically - for example, ESC, ABS, BAS and EBD, which distribute the forces of the braking system, prevent dangerous roll and uncontrolled skid of the car. The ERU-GLONASS emergency notification system is also built in, which itself will send a message about the need for medical assistance and evacuation if a serious accident occurs. However, the presence of a rear-view camera, fog lamps and electrically adjustable heated side mirrors reduces the risk of accident by negligence to almost zero.

The convenience of the Lada XRay car should not be underestimated either. Three head restraints for the rear sofa make trips more comfortable for the third passenger. Electric window lifters are available in each door. Considering the presence of climate control, which in its capabilities seriously surpasses the serial air conditioner, the pleasure of the trip can be obtained even in severe frosts and wild heat.

The driver of the luxury version of the Lada X-Ray gets a lot of numerous useful devices in the immediate vicinity. There is a special compartment for storing glasses; there is a drawer under the front passenger seat. The design provides a special compartment with the function of cooling the contents - it may be required for transporting drinks and small volumes of perishable or melting food products.

A separate item in the description of convenience is to add an on-board computer with a built-in multimedia control system for the available functionality. To the question of how much the Lada X Rey costs in the maximum configuration, you can answer - 698 thousand rubles for use with a less powerful power unit and manual transmission, 723 thousand rubles complete with AMT and a powerful motor. Whether this car is worth such costs is up to each individual buyer, but in general, the Lada X-Ray looks very attractive and dignified.

The Top configuration is the highest - when choosing it, the customer will receive a significantly improved interior design and even more built-in features (this can be clearly seen by watching the proposed video). The pinnacle for this model can be considered the additional package of options Prestige, used on the basis of the highest configuration. It is about the car Lada X-Rey, manufactured for "Prestige", and will be discussed in the future.

Comfort

The Comfort package, which is essentially a package of additional options for the previous version, eliminates these disadvantages. This is where air conditioning and some other convenience factors come in. It should be borne in mind that with a fully loaded trunk and the carriage of four passengers, this power unit shows itself significantly worse than during a single test.

Recently six months have passed since I became the owner of the LADA X-Ray Lux. I never thought that I would ever buy a transport of domestic production.

During this time, we have run over 8000 km. To be more precise, my wife and I spent 17 days in the car and moved no more than 60 km per hour, without stopping for 8 hours a day.

During this time, we stood in hot traffic jams, rolled through melted snow, ice, got caught in an autumn downpour and even tried transport on snow-covered winter tracks. In general, a complete set. I will not say that this is a lot, but I think it is already possible to draw conclusions about the vehicle.

Our first family car was the Nexia. When buying, they chose between her, Kalina and 2115, but the choice remained with Nexia due to popular interest.

Now times, the situation in the world has changed, progress has come to our VAZ and we have made our choice in its favor. Of course, you can argue endlessly whether this is a good car or not, diligently look for the pros and cons in it, but I think there will be no consensus.

Handling and overall experience

During this time, the car never broke down, there were no "surprises" from the technical side. Pleases low fuel consumption, the presence of various useful and comfortable options (in the LUX Prestige configuration), which were not on the previous cars.

I like the work of heated seats - it works softly, does not fry the fifth point, like eggs in a frying pan, but just gently warms up to a pleasant temperature, then turns off and then turns on again. And so it is constantly.

A separate plus is to put the stabilization system. I don't know why they are complaining about it, everything works for me correctly (maybe the requests are small). In winter, in a snowfall, I calmly overtook cars on the highway at a speed of 100 km per hour, overcoming the dividing snow strip, without fear of skidding or turning. The car listens to the steering wheel and drives as if on rails while the icon flashes on the display.

The same situation occurs when accelerating on a slippery road (on ice, snow slush). Pressing the pedal to the maximum, the car just picks up speed in a straight line. The car keeps the speed itself, you do not need to steer.

Very good aerodynamics. It is quite comfortable to move at speeds up to 140 km per hour.

But at a higher speed, distinct noises, it seems that you are taking off, it becomes uncomfortable and tiring to drive. The windshield with various bugs, dirt from neighboring cars is not very dirty, but the rear window gets dirty at any speed and in any weather: in the rain - with dirt, and in dry - with dust.

In general, the handling is not bad. There are no super-super abilities here, but the handling is no worse than in the Lacetti, adjusted for height, ground clearance. The turns are excellent. Among the shortcomings, I can only note the blows to the steering wheel, which are felt when cornering in places with sharp irregularities - pits with sharp edges, joints of plates, and others.

Braking, dynamics are not bad. ABS and all sorts of electronic assistants make it possible to get maximum efficiency from pressing the brake.

As for the comfort of movement on a highway with good coverage, at 110 km per hour the car holds 3000 rpm. These are excellent indicators - the golden mean between comfort, speed and fuel consumption (about 8 liters). More economical mode - up to 90 km per hour (consumption is within 7 liters). The fastest comfortable speed is 140 km per hour.

Lighting

I like the head light, tail lights. After the half-blind Nexia and the blind Lachceti, I received my sight. The light is excellent, I don't even want to install xenons, diodes.

An important advantage is design

If we talk about design, the model is bright and stylish enough, especially as for the LADA brand. Compared to previous models - a completely different level. Maybe I was lucky, but all the components of the interior and exterior fit exactly and neatly.

There are no creaks in either a thirty-degree heat or ten-degree frost. There are no shoals in the field or in the trunk.

The wiring is in its place, everything is neatly covered with electrical tape, all clips are present. Everything under the hood is like a foreign car - neat pipes, hoses, cable channels. Maybe I got excited, but just in case I wrapped a couple of hoses with duct tape, which I was worried about.

In comparison with premium cars, X-Ray Lux is inferior in capacity and comfort. Inside, the rear is somewhat cramped, but in the trunk, without folding the seat, you can fit four 16-standard wheels in assembly. This is a good indicator for such a hatchback.

Suspension in brief

The suspension is great for our roads, allowing you to swallow all the bumps of your home country. Light off-road conditions are overcome in fairly comfortable conditions. The car goes at least 80 km per hour on broken asphalt with patching. At the same time, fuel consumption is low, and service in the official service is quite affordable.

Technical breakdowns and disadvantages

During this time, I had only one problem - a third-party alarm. There was an error on the cann line. Under warranty, I changed the module, uploaded a new firmware. There have been no other technical problems yet. For 8000 km 200 gr were used. on the oil dipstick. Given my love for overtaking, I think this is a normal figure.

The manufacturer considers 0.3% of fuel consumption to be the norm - up to about 2 liters per 10 thousand km.

Cons to which you can close your eyes

Roughly speaking, choosing this car, you get a new Sandero Stepway, but, in my opinion, with a more stylish design, a powerful engine (optional) and with a wider configuration. And all this is cheaper by about 100 thousand rubles.

Interior features

Improved control

The steering wheel is made well, keeping it comfortable and comfortable. It has the right thickness and comfortable tides (there were none on the Opel). Bold plus - height adjustment, minus - no reach adjustment.

Compared to the Astra, the steering wheel is somewhat more comfortable in the X-Ray Prestige. On the last car, I always tried to raise it higher, but ran into the limiter. There is no such problem here - I adjusted the steering wheel to my height and needs. There are multi-wheel functions, but the tracks do not switch. It is upsetting, but not too much. In general, for the performance of the steering wheel manufacturers are a big plus.

Now I'll tell you about the pedal assembly. Everything here is somewhat ambiguous. I like the soft grip. There are no complaints about the gas pedal, the reaction to pressing is fast enough. The brake pedal is ordinary, it does not cause any impressions at all. Cons - the brake is a bit high - you need to get used to it. The dimensions of the pedal assembly for my 44th size fit perfectly.

The paddle shifters are well done. Also, there are no complaints about the climate control unit. The buttons on the air conditioner on the last car were somewhat nicer and softer in terms of tactile sensations. In general, for everything together, you can put a small minus, but mainly because of the clutch pedal.

Visibility, dimensions and light

The visibility of the vehicle is at a height, it is much better than in the Astra. In the past, cars had problems with this, I almost got into an accident. The mirrors are not bad, repeaters are built into X-Ray - this is a plus.

As for the dimensions of the car, my opinion is subjective. I don't like big cars and I don't like crowding with other passengers, so I prefer small hatchbacks, which, alas, are not very popular in our market. Astra was big for me. Its width, poor visibility in combination with a small clearance created significant restrictions when choosing a parking space. X-Ray in this regard is ideal for me.

Just as much space is allocated in front as is needed for a comfortable stay for two people, and no more. As for me, there is enough space in the back, but three passengers can be cramped. The X-Ray Prestige has ideal conditions for my needs.

As for the light, there are LED DRLs, they are bright, visible from afar. Rear optics - parity. For the visibility, the size of the transport, exclusively in my subjective opinion, I put a big plus.

Disadvantages in handling and suspension

This is another point that I cannot fully decide on. Astra's handling was thoroughbred and the best among relatives. It had a stiff suspension, it shook on bumps, a sharp reaction to the steering wheel and a very small clearance, because of which I was stuck in almost every snowdrift. For the countryside, it was poorly suited.

H-Ray is the complete opposite. It has an empty steering wheel, slightly sluggish reactions and a large clearance of 20 cm. The omnivorous suspension is well balanced, not soft or rigid. On the track, the sensations are mediocre - the reaction to the steering wheel is sluggish, the car rolls with sharp drops. But on a bumpy road it behaves well - it swallows all irregularities perfectly, and it is convenient to drive. The sensations are contradictory - with average behavior on the track, the car behaves perfectly off-road.

Equipment and dopa

I took a Top performance car with a Prestige package with manual transmission, the cost was about 690 thousand. The equipment has everything you need. I want to add leather braiding to the steering wheel, armrest, headlight lenses.

Active safety is the norm. Passive safety in comparison with Astra lags behind a little. In stock (I list what was not in the Astra in the Enjoy package) climate control, rear-view cameras, parking sensors, navigation, a radio with bluetooth, LCD display, light and rain sensors, heated seats, cooled power windows, a glove compartment.

The equipment is at a height, the safety is somewhat worse in comparison with the Astra, but in general it is not bad. You can put a plus.

Summing up

LADA X-Ray Prestige is a good vehicle. Compared to the previous car, it is slightly worse, but taking into account the class and cost, everything is at a fairly high level.

The advantages are excellent visibility, optimal dimensions (subjectively), good equipment, external data and ground clearance.

The disadvantages include mediocre behavior on the road, incomprehensible plastic, an almost unreadable Logan dashboard with no fuel temperature dial gauges, as well as some economic miscalculations - the light control is located on the steering column switch, and the seat heating buttons are in the blind zone.

However, after a short period of driving, I can confidently say, taking into account the class and cost of the vehicle, that the car was a success and justifies its cost one hundred percent.

I foresee the skepticism of male readers when reading a review from a woman. But, I think, almost 20 years of driving experience (driving every day, in any season and weather) and the experience of driving a wide variety of cars (from Oka to Subaru Legacy), and I have changed 9 cars in 19 years - allow me to speak out.

I had used cars, and new ones, from the salon - the last were Daewoo-Nexia, then Chevrolet-cobalt, that is, budget "workhorses". When I skated on a Chevrolet for 5 years and thought about changing the "horse", I roughly imagined what I wanted: high ground clearance, since we live outside the city; large trunk; good stability and controllability, since I drive a child and safety is important; profitability, since there are 2 cars in the house, we will go broke on gasoline; Well, appearance is also important, I'm a woman!

About Lada X-ray did not even think, fingered between Renault Duster and Hyundai-Tusson. For the money I had, you could take a new Renault, but only in the base, or a Hyundai, but not a new one, with decent mileage. Not satisfied with both options, and the experience of driving a Korean I was not the most rosy. And then the husband, who a year earlier took a new UAZ-Patriot in the "Maximum" configuration, after which he suddenly became a fan of the domestic car industry (a really cool car!) Offered to look at the Lada.

It was on New Year's holidays, we drove into the dealer's salon just passing by, just to look, and in the end I was leaving him the next day in my new car! Because in the cabin we were offered a 2017 car, 1.6 liters, mechanics in the most luxurious configuration (rain sensors, lights, parking sensors, rear view cameras, cool multimedia with navigation, climate control, electric heated front glass and all other bells and whistles) with a set of winter tires for only 680 thousand, while taking my Cobalt at trade-in for 350 thousand (right here and now).

The trick was that the car was from a test drive, the mileage was 1002 km. To be honest, I didn't even think about it! Because I didn't count on such a number of bells and whistles for that kind of money, and the car was already with numbers, title bar, that is, take it, register it in the traffic police in an hour - and drive!

So far, I have not regretted buying a day! The presence of rain and light sensors makes trips just a holiday - I don’t think about such trifles, everything switches itself, climate control regulates the temperature without my intervention, the ability to speak on the phone on the speakerphone without getting it out of the bag, through the multimedia system for me too it is important, because by virtue of their work they call me endlessly. The dynamics of acceleration (for which I love the mechanics!) Allows the first to start from a traffic light easily and simply, and in general the car is quite nimble.

In winter, I was more than once happy about the antizanos system, since we live outside the city, the roads are poorly cleaned, we drive not on asphalt, but on snow-covered dirt roads. The car holds the road securely, I feel calm while driving even on a difficult road. I also like the small corner of the turn, which makes it easy to turn around even on a narrow road in one movement, my husband was even surprised at such an unexpected turnaround at its length.

Taking into account my small stature (164 cm), the seat height adjustment also came in handy, I raised it as high as possible, I feel like a queen on the throne, since all the sedans were lower, I look down on them. Since I drive the child in the back seat, and the front passenger seat is rarely occupied (and pushed forward to the maximum), and my seat is also pushed close, there is a lot of space in the back for passengers, even for long-legged ones.

I have a two-tone interior, a combination of gray fabric and brown leather, the interior trim of doors and panels in the same color looks beautiful and stylish (yes, I am a woman, this is important to me!).

Over the past time, there have been no complaints about anything, that is, there were no problems (I think that during the test drive, all the problems that arose were eliminated in the showroom, if any). Even a small toggle switch for turning on the heated seats seems to be created for thin female fingers! I find it unmistakably, that's no problem (maybe Lada X-ray for women was created, so everything is sharpened under female hands?).

For the first time, I was completely satisfied with the car, both in terms of driving performance, and in terms of configuration, and in cross-country ability, and in safety, fully meeting all my expectations and requests. And for that kind of money!

Advantages of the car

High ground clearance, good cross-country ability, directional stability, maneuverability, reliability. Optimal price-quality ratio.

Disadvantages of the car

Noisy at speeds above 110 km / h. And I personally miss the 6th gear on the track!

General impression

An ideal budget car option for those who work in the city, but live outside the city with not very good roads (sedans have nothing to do there!).
