The absence of the need to remove the car from registration when buying and selling is possible only when the seller of the car and his buyer live in the same region. If the buyer wants to drive to another region of the country, he will have to remove the car from the register and register it at the place of residence (with the replacement of numbers).

Over time, the traffic police plans to introduce a new term "changes to the owner's data" in the registration procedure.

Provided that the previous owner of the sold car wanted to keep the numbers of this car, then he must write a written statement about such a desire and submit it to the traffic police. In order to register a car with license plates, you need to provide the following documents:

• Application for vehicle registration.
• Receipt of payment of duty.
• A document that confirms the ownership of this vehicle.
• Passport or other document confirming your identity.
• Technical passport of the car.
• Registration certificate of this vehicle, issued by the traffic police.
• Compulsory OSAGO insurance policy.

Step three: buy a new car before the license plate storage period has expired

The maximum storage period for registration plates at the State Traffic Inspectorate is 360 days. That is how much time you have to pick up, buy and drive a new car to the traffic police. Taking a full package of documents and making sure that the license plates are in perfect condition, registering through the State Services website and paying the necessary fees, we go to the traffic police.

ATTENTION: Inspection of the car is not required at this stage, therefore we ignore the corresponding "hint" on the website of the State Services.

In the traffic police you have to go through five windows. Do not be intimidated by this, as the whole process is moving quickly.
