Looking for living space in the Citroen Berlingo Multispace. Citroen Berlingo Multispace owner reviews Model history and purpose

Let's walk through the exterior. The front bumper in style is now closer to its older brother - Jumpy. The LED daytime running lights have moved closer to the fog lights. And the chrome-plated radiator grille has "become modest" and no longer goes under the headlights. I sit inside. There are almost no changes in the interior. The main novelty is a multimedia system with a touch screen. The AUX output remains on the front, but where is the USB? After all, it was on the previous version! A long and painful search was nevertheless crowned with success. The coveted connector is hidden on the side wall of the central tunnel. And the updated Berlingo has front parking sensors and - drum roll! - Rear View Camera. However, without it, Citroen has full order with visibility. Large windows and mirrors, high seating position - the dimensions are felt perfectly.

But this is not what attracts Berlingo, but the spaciousness of the cabin. After all, they buy not only cargo versions. Passenger Multispaces have long become a good substitute for minivans, of which we have almost no left on the market. There is a lot of space in the cabin: in the back row, which consists of three full-fledged seats, three adult passengers can sit without problems. There is more than enough stock in all directions. Especially over the head - the high body affects. From the joys - tables in the backs of the front seats. And the middle seat also turns into a table when folded. By the number of all kinds of boxes and compartments, Berlingo will give odds to many much larger cars. The trunk is good - after all, "heel". Correct shape, impressive volume. The separately opening rear window is a welcome addition. Such a function is now less common. Four or even five passengers can be equipped on a long journey, moreover with luggage! All the more, it is pleasant to drive Berlingo.

For the test, I got the X-TR version with a 90-horsepower HDi turbodiesel. It is naive to expect outstanding dynamics from such a motor. But I was pleasantly surprised by the acceleration. The heel kicks off confidently, not least thanks to short gears. The reverse side of the coin is a low “maximum speed”. Already at 120 km / h, the tachometer needle approaches the 3000 rpm mark. At the same time, fuel consumption exceeds the mark of 6 l / 100 km - a bit too much for a 1.6-liter diesel engine. But on a suburban highway at 80-90 km / h, I easily fit into 5 liters. The only thing that alerted me was the winter launch. As soon as the temperature dropped to five degrees below zero, the diesel engine started harder, and at first it worked very hard. And after a hundred kilometers traveled, the engine did not warm up.

On a straight line, Berlingo is stable and - which is a rarity for a "heel" - does not bother with aerodynamic noise. Not least thanks to the additional "Shumka" in the rich configuration of the X-TR. On a winding road, Citroen is not obscured, pleasing with quite decent feedback and a clear following of the trajectory. But it is not worth crossing the line of reason - the center of gravity is located high. Pleased with the Berlingo and smooth running. Unlike most competitors equipped with a rear leaf spring suspension, the Citroen has a torsion bar rear suspension. Therefore, in an empty state, it does not shake out the soul on small things and does not "goat" on big potholes. It is a pity that the main complaint of the Berlingo owners - a small ground clearance of 140 mm - remained.

Would I go on a long journey in such a car? Definitely yes! Would I buy such a car if I had a new addition to my family? Maybe. In terms of price per cubic meter, the Berlingo is very attractive. Two of my friends who bought a Berlingo are happy so far. In the absence of affordable compact vanes, "heels" can be a good substitute.

PROS:for relatively little money, the Citroen Berlingo offers a lot of living space. MINUSES:the clearance should be increased.

Owner reviews

To say that you are happy is to say nothing. The car is convenient for the driver to land: no problem 38 hours driving with a partner, only hands go numb. A child or an adult, if desired, in the car can sleep horizontally, full-length between the rear seats, if the middle is removed (optional).

The car is roomy, and sliding doors for children and the elderly in parking lots in the city are more convenient than standard ones, since nearby cars will not accidentally hit. The rear window in the trunk was used for long cargo.

Pallets were not transported, extreme loads were not assigned to the car. The machine is used in a gentle and gentle way. Spare parts prices are normal. Gasoline consumption of the 95th is 8.2-9.2 liters per 100 km, depending on the mode and driving style.

Video review

Advantages of the car:

Very good overview.
+ Very good informative mirrors.
+ Comfortable fit (for 10 hours while driving, the back does not get numb).
+ Low consumption (mixed cycle, without trampling the heel on the floor, but occasionally with a full trunk and bicycles on the roof) - 7.2 liters of the 95th. When fully loaded (5 people + full trunk) - 8.1 liters.
+ Relatively high ground clearance.
+ Long travel suspension.
+ A large number of glove compartments in the car.
+ Sliding doors help out when parking is tight.
+ All seats are easily dismantled without tools, creating an incredible amount of luggage.
+ Very pleasant steering with reasonably good feedback.
+ The car behaves well on a track with a track (does not prowl or crawl).

Disadvantages:

- The front bumper with a long front overhang, you have to put up with, as with the inevitable evil of front-wheel drive, but its height ... the lower part of the bumper is filled with emptiness ... As a result, all the bumps are collected by the bumper.
- The French were freezing in 1812, they are freezing in 2015 too. More precisely, passengers, because the stove is ugly weak. At -30, rear passengers will have to freeze, even at maximum heater power.
- Poor dynamics.
- I perceive the blowing of the rear seats as a mockery: it has no connection with the stove, but takes air above the driver's head and blows it out onto the passengers - an absolutely unviable design.
- Very easily soiled light plastic (easy to smudge).
- Suspension too soft.
- Plastic roof (for a complete set with skylights). Don't get caught! I just found out about this when I tried to put the antenna on a magnet.
- The windshield collects all the dirt and all the midges, but this is a tribute to the form.

Victor Andreevich, a review of Citroen Berlingo 1.6 MT 2013 onwards

The car is universal, for all occasions. I use it for myself. Convenient to operate. BMW's EP6 engine is very nimble for 1.6 displacement and 120 hp.

This is a spacious, comfortable, versatile machine, which in the X-TR modification also has an off-road body kit, reinforced suspension and a 1 cm higher ground clearance. Not a single breakdown in two years.

The car requires additional noise insulation, takes a long time to warm up, is underestimated as a passenger car for the driver.

Andrey drives Berlingo 1.6 on 2014 mechanics

The car handles well even at high speed, at 130 km / h it goes like on rails, though if there is no strong side wind. The ergonomics are very good, already in the basic configuration the steering column is adjustable in height and reach.

The only drawback is that in my configuration there is no armrest near the driver's seat, on expensive versions it is. But there is no central tunnel, you can go from the first to the second row without leaving the salon. Unfortunately, the decoration is dominated by cheap plastic.

The car turned out to be very convenient for traveling. The body is wide and high, with enough space in the back for three passengers. If you are traveling together, then a tent or hotel is not needed - there is enough space in the cabin to arrange comfortable sleeping places.

With the second row seats folded down, the luggage compartment volume is 3,000 liters. The car is also good as a truck, even with a full load, the suspension retains sufficient energy consumption, and the ground clearance is large.

I also like the fact that this car has a lot of compartments for small items, everything can be laid out in its place. The car is easy to drive and maneuverable, with a turning radius similar to that of a compact hatchback. The landing is high, like a crossover, thanks to this and the large mirrors, visibility is very good.

The car proved to be quite reliable in operation. Since the purchase, I drove 35,000 km, of the breakdowns, only the thermostat had to be replaced. Another drawback that came to light in winter is that the engine takes a long time to warm up and the stove is not efficient enough. Perhaps I will install an additional heater.

Review of the Citroen Berlingo 2019: the external appearance of the model, interior design, technical characteristics, security systems, equipment and price tag. At the end of the article - a video panorama of the model!

Review content:

Citroen Berlingo is a multipurpose car offered in the body of a compact van or the so-called "heel". For the first time, the model debuted on the world stage in the fall of 1996, replacing the C15 model. In 2002 and 2004, the car underwent a planned restyling, and in January 2008, the Citroen management demonstrated the second generation Berlingo, which also received two updates: in 2012 and 2015.

The third generation of Citroen Berlingo was first presented at the end of winter 2018 as part of a special Internet presentation, while the world debut of the car took place in the first half of March of the same year.

In comparison with the previous generation, the new product has changed the "cart", has radically changed in appearance, and also acquired productive turbo engines and an impressive arsenal of modern equipment. It is also worth noting that Berlingo 2019 was presented for the first time in the classic and extended versions (M and XL), and was also the first to try on a new platform, which will subsequently be used in the co-platform brothers Peugeot Partner and Opel Combo.

The third "Berlingo" flaunts a stylish and "matured" appearance, made in the same style as its neighbors in the model range - Citroen C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross.

"Muzzle" of the car exhibits spectacular two-story optics, a rectangular false radiator grille and a powerful front bumper with a huge air intake section and a pair of built-in foglights.

Compact van profile has classic proportions for this class of car: a short hood, a perfectly flat roofline and chopped stern. We also note that Berlingo retained the inflated wheel arches, a large glass area and sliding rear doors, additionally receiving branded Airbump overlays that reliably protect the side doors from minor damage.

Feed machine acquired side lights with partially LED filling, while retaining a large fifth door that opens access to a spacious trunk.

The external dimensions of the standard Citroen Berlingo have the following parameters:

VersionMXL
Length mm4400 4750
Width, mm1850 1850
Height, mm1810 1810
Ground clearance, mm2780 2970

In the XL version, the overall length and wheelbase (see table) were increased to 4.75 and 2.97 m, respectively. The passability of the compact van is sufficient for most use cases, and for those who find it insufficient, the French have prepared a special “off-road” version of the XTR.

The car is offered in one of eight body colors, as well as with several options for R15-17 rims.

A real revolution took place in the cabin of the new Citroen Berlingo, so the utilitarian and clumsy design of its predecessor literally sunk into oblivion, which is especially noticeable in expensive modifications of the model.

Driver's "cockpit" sports a highly readable instrument panel and stylish three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with a slightly cut lower rim. The central dashboard has acquired a far extended "lip" of the center console, on which there is a compact gearshift selector (a similar solution is often found in minivans and small minibuses) or an optional gearshift washer.

There is also a laconic microclimate control unit and stylishly designed air vents, above which an 8 ”TV set of the multimedia center rises. Compared to its predecessor, the assembly and the quality of the materials used have noticeably improved.

In the M-modification, the car has a 5-seater saloon. Front riders are offered ergonomic seats, pleasing with a large number of adjustments and sufficient lateral support bolsters, at the same time a comfortable sofa is installed for the rear row passengers, which makes it easy to accommodate 3 adult passengers.

In the XL version, a third row of seats is additionally installed in the cabin, where two more adults can easily sit, bringing the total number of riders to seven.

One of the main features of the salon of the novelty is the presence of 28 compartments, niches and containers for storing various small itemsAnd this is not counting the possibility of installing a special wide-functional Modutop roof (withstands a load of up to 10 kg and offers 92 liters of additional loading volume).

Also, optionally, special travel tables can be installed in the backs of the front seats, providing an additional level of comfort during long trips.

Trunk volume the standard Berlingo is 775 liters, while in the extended version its volume is increased to 1050 liters. It is important to note that both the second and third row of seats (if fitted) fold down flush with the floor for a maximum loading space of 4,000 liters and a loading length of 3.05 m (XL version).

The new Berlingo got at its disposal 2 gasoline and 3 diesel turbo engines, for which 5 and 6-speed manual transmissions are available, as well as an 8-range "automatic".
  1. Gasoline engines are represented by a 1.2-liter power plant of the PureTech series, available in two boost options - 110 hp (205 Nm) and 130 "horses" (230 Nm of torque), respectively.
  2. Diesel engines are represented by a 1.5-liter BlueHDi turbo four, which has received battery fuel supply technology, as well as an 8- or 16-valve timing. This motor is available in three power options: 75, 110 and 130 hp. (230, 254 and 300 Nm of peak torque, respectively).
Unfortunately, at the current date, the manufacturer does not disclose the exact dynamic and consumer characteristics of the compact van, including acceleration from 0 to 100, maximum speed and fuel consumption. True, it is known that the car has become noticeably more economical and more dynamic than its predecessor, which was able to develop a maximum 177 km / h, and also change the first "hundred" in 12-15 seconds.

Regardless of the type and power of the power plant, the torque is transmitted exclusively to the front axle.

As noted earlier, the novelty is based on a completely new combined bogie, where the front module is borrowed from the EMP2 platform and is represented by an independent architecture with MacPherson struts, and the rear one is similar to its predecessor, where a semi-independent architecture with a torsion beam was used.

Hydraulic shock absorbers are installed on both axles, as well as steel springs and transverse stabilizers.

The steering is retrofitted with an electric booster, and the system responsible for braking is equipped with disc mechanisms of both axles (in front - with a ventilation system).

Following the improved exterior and interior design, compact MPV Citroen Berlingo has acquired a noticeably expanded number of security systems, including:
  • ABS technology;
  • Function of electronic division of efforts during deceleration;
  • Emergency slowdown assistant;
  • Automatic activation of light signaling during emergency braking;
  • Disc brakes on both axles;
  • ESR and ASR systems;
  • Assistant to keep the car on the slope;
  • Frontal and airbags on the sides;
  • Safety shutters on the side;
  • Central locking;
  • Mechanically locked doors (child protection system);
  • Safety belts and fasteners ISОFIХ;
  • Rear view camera;
  • Adaptive cruise control;
  • "Pilot" state tracking sensors;
  • Systems for tracking "dead" zones, as well as monitoring the markings and reading road signs.
The manufacturer emphasizes that when creating the Berlingo body, they widely used high-strength steels, which made it possible to achieve an increase in the level of body rigidity and the overall level of passenger protection.

Sales of the new Citroen Berlingo on the European market should start in the first half of September 2018, and the list of available trim levels and their prices will be announced immediately before the start of sales of the new item.

Nevertheless, it can be assumed that the basic configuration of the cargo version will cost the future owner at least 15 thousand euros (1.15 million rubles), while the minimum price for the passenger will be about 20.5 thousand euros. (about 1.57 million rubles).

Fortunately for domestic fans of the brand, sales of the car are also scheduled for the Russian market, where the compact van should reach no earlier than the first half of 2019.

The standard equipment list for the passenger version includes:
  • Electric power steering;
  • Cruise control;
  • ABS, ESP and ASR system;
  • Electronic deceleration force sharing technology;
  • Disc brakes on both axles;
  • Frontal airbags;
  • ISOFIX fasteners and seat belts for all riders;
  • Central locking;
  • Halogen optics and DRL;
  • Exterior mirrors, electrically adjustable;
  • Front power windows;
  • Air conditioning;
  • Steel "rollers" R15;
  • Music system with 4 speakers;
  • Rear folding sofa, etc.
In more equipped and, accordingly, expensive versions, the car will additionally offer:
  • Side lights with partially LED filling;
  • LED DRL;
  • Multifunctional steering wheel;
  • Advanced multimedia system with 8 "monitor, navigation and the ability to synchronize with a smartphone;
  • Rear view camera;
  • Dual-zone climate control;
  • Stop system
  • Electronic parking brake;
  • Projection monitor;
  • Keyless entry system for cars, etc.
It is also expected that buyers will be offered an expanded list of branded accessories designed to make the operation of the car even more comfortable.

Conclusion

Citroen Berlingo 2019 is a completely transformed compact van, offering its future owners a stylish exterior, high-quality and spacious interior, high-torque engines and a wide range of equipment.

Video panorama Citroen Berlingo 2019:

Everyone wants to conquer the off-road! And it's not a secret for anyone that cars with increased cross-country ability have been rapidly gaining popularity lately: the segment of crossovers is growing, conventional hatchbacks and station wagons are massively acquiring “packages for off-road driving” ... and Citroen introduced an off-road version of the Berlingo heel, adding the Trek prefix to the name (although it has been known as XTR in European markets since 2008).

The Russian show of the "all-road" compact van from Citroen took place in Moscow at MIAS'2012, and in November of the same year the first "Berlingo Treks" entered the "counters" of the company's official dealers.

Modification "Berlingo Trek" is not much different from the "civilian" version, its main differences are: additional off-road protection and increased ground clearance to 200 mm (almost like a "real crossover"). As a result, this "heel" has become more like a "stylish compact van". Thanks to such "strokes in appearance", the car began to look more "militant" - when you look at it, you understand: "How long have you wanted to go with your family to nature."

As a result of the modernization that overtook Berlingo in 2015, the "off-road" version was also updated - as a result: "the area of \u200b\u200bcoverage with unpainted plastic" was noticeably reduced, the design of the front car was significantly changed and the optics were modernized ... and this modification was deprived of its own name "Trek" - now it is, "in the European manner", only a configuration option called "X-TR".

If in terms of the exterior, this "Frenchman", although not serious, but still differs from the "usual Berlingo", then inside it does not differ at all. The interior design is thoughtful and modern, it is quite cute, but it is definitely not bright or beautiful. But the finishing materials do not cause any complaints: their quality is up to the mark, and they are assembled perfectly.

"All-terrain" Berlingo - although compact, but roomy - capable of taking on board 5 people at once, and each of them will have at their disposal a separate seat and enough space.

Initially, the luggage compartment of the compact van has a decent volume - 675 liters of usable volume, and if you remove the second row of seats, it increases to an impressive 3 cubic meters of usable space!

In terms of technical characteristics, two variants of power units are offered for Citroen Berlingo: 1.6-liter 120-horsepower petrol VTi (with five-speed "mechanics") or 90-horsepower diesel HDi (with the same "mechanics" or six-speed "robot"). Moreover, regardless of the power unit, this car cannot be called dynamic: it accelerates to the "first hundred" in 12 ~ 16 seconds, and its "maximum speed" is about 161 ~ 177 km / h.

By the way, the "off-road potential" of this "Berlingo" is realized not only due to "additional crankcase protection and increased ground clearance", but also due to the presence of a limited slip differential - thanks to which the most optimal use of torque occurs. So, depending on the grip of the wheels with the road, the limited-slip differential directs up to 25% of the engine torque to those wheels that have the best contact with the surface.
In general, we can say that the "off-road arsenal" of this car allows not only to feel more confident off-road, but also endows the "Citroen heel" with better handling on the road.

Citroen Berlingo X-TR, in comparison with the "regular version", has not only an "off-road kit", but, accordingly, a higher price - in 2017 it is offered at a price of ~ 1 189 thousand rubles (which is 145 thousand rubles more expensive than the "basic version").

The Berlingo X-TR equipment includes: ABS + REF + AFU + ESP + ASR systems, front and side airbags, LED DRLs, power accessories for mirrors and windows, cruise control, parking sensors, 2-zone "climate", an audio system with 4 -speakers ... and much more.
