The third incarnation of the Hyundai Tucson. The third incarnation of Hyundai Tucson Cost of maintenance from authorized dealers

Hyundai Tucson is a front- or four-wheel drive SUV of the compact segment, combining attractive design, practical and functional interior, modern technical "stuffing" and a good level of equipment ... Its main target audience is urban residents with an upper middle income (regardless of age and gender ), periodically leaving the metropolis ...

The Hyundai Tucson SUV in its third incarnation, whose predecessor was known in Russia and Europe under the name ix35, made its official debut in 2015 - at the March car show in Geneva (although its preliminary premiere took place a month before this event in Berlin). The car surpassed the previous model in all respects - it became larger, more beautiful, more powerful and more technologically advanced.

In April 2018, at the International New York Auto Show, the premiere of the restyled off-road vehicle took place, which slightly "refreshed" in appearance, received a thoroughly redrawn interior decoration and received new equipment. The five-door was not without technical updates - in tandem with the diesel engine, an 8-band “automatic” was separated (instead of a 6-speed unit).

"Tussan" looks like a real robust man with a relief design and harmonious outlines, which are perceived as very "European". The signature cascade-shaped radiator grille, aggressive lighting technology with LED elements extending far into the fenders, and a sculpted bumper give the car's "face" boldness and expressiveness, hinting at its sporty character.

The sidewalls of the body are no less stylishly designed - the falling contours of the roof, striving to meet the rising line of the "sill", the powerful contours of the wheel arches and the graceful stamping, emphasizing the dynamism of the SUV even in static conditions.

The inspiration of the designers did not disregard the fiery stern - graceful wide lanterns, flowing lines and twin tailpipes of the trapezoidal exhaust system.

The "third" Hyundai Tucson is part of the compact crossover community: 4475 mm long, 1850 mm wide and 1645 mm high with a wheelbase of 2670 mm. The minimum ground clearance of the vehicle is 182 mm.

Depending on the modification, its "combat" weight varies from 1454 to 1854 kg.

Inside "Tussan" of the third generation has a strict, classic and modern design, and at the same time it is perfectly worked out in ergonomic terms. A multifunctional steering wheel with a pronounced relief, informative instrumentation with a 4.2-inch "window" of the on-board computer and a massive front panel with a protruding 7-inch screen and a stylish climate unit in the center - in terms of interior decoration, the Korean crossover is able to "fight" even more status cars ... But in the basic configuration, everything is much more modest.

The interior of the Hyundai Tucson is available in three color options, and it is cut mainly from high-quality finishing materials, although it was not done without hard plastics. "Top" performances "flaunt" natural leather with perforated inserts and decorative elements "like metal".

The front seats of the SUV have a comfortable and friendly profile and a wide range of adjustments, but the support on the sides is poorly developed. The "gallery" is also in complete order - a sufficient supply of space in all directions, a backrest adjustable in tilt angle, separate "climate" air ducts, and on expensive solutions there is also dual-mode heating.

In the stowed position, the cargo compartment of the third generation "Tussan" holds up to 488 liters of luggage, and this is taking into account the full-size "spare" in the underground.

The back of the rear sofa is transformed by a pair of unequal parts (6 to 4), fitting into a horizontal platform and bringing the usable volume to 1478 liters.

For the "third" Hyundai Tucson 2019 model year in the Russian market, three engines have been prepared to choose from, a similar number of gearboxes and two types of drive:

  • The engine compartment of the basic modifications is occupied by a gasoline 2.0-liter "four" with a distributed power system, the output of which is 150 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 192 Nm of possible torque at 4000 rpm. It is assisted by 6-speed "mechanics" or "automatic", front or all-wheel drive.
Depending on the modification, such a "Tussan" overcomes the starting spurt to 100 km / h in 10.3-11.8 seconds, accelerates to 180-186 km / h and, on average, "eats" 7.9-8.3 liters of fuel in a mixed driving mode.
  • The "top" petrol version is a 1.6-liter turbocharged unit with direct fuel mixture delivery, generating 177 "mares" at 5500 rpm and 265 Nm of torque in the range from 1500 to 4500 rpm.
In combination with a 7-band "robot" with two clutches and an all-wheel drive transmission, it provides the car with 201 km / h of maximum capabilities, acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h in 9.1 seconds and the "passport" consumption of 7.5 liters.
  • The third "release" Hyundai Tucson is completed with a diesel unit - a 2.0-liter "direct" turbo engine, in the bins of which there is 185 horsepower (at 4000 rpm) and 400 Nm of thrust, produced in the range from 1750 to 2750 rpm. For him, exclusively automatic transmission for eight gears and all-wheel drive are put.
The speedometer needle on a diesel crossover reaches the first three-digit figure after 9.5 seconds, and stops only when it reaches 201 km / h. For each "hundred" of the way, he uses only 6 liters of "diesel fuel".

Four-wheel drive on the "Korean" is implemented according to the standard scheme for crossovers - an electro-hydraulic clutch is responsible for taking torque to the rear wheels, which regulates the amount of traction on the front and rear axles. Under normal conditions, the potential distribution automatically changes in the range from 100: 0 to 60:40, however, the clutch can be closed forcibly by dividing the moment between the wheels "like brothers".

At the heart of the "Tussan" of the third generation is a seriously modernized platform from its predecessor with a transversely mounted power unit and independent suspension on both axles - MacPherson struts in front and a multi-link structure with an anti-roll bar at the rear.

The steering system of the crossover "flaunts" a rack-and-pinion mechanism, which is complemented by an electric amplifier with variable characteristics.

Disc brakes on all wheels are involved (ventilated on the front axle), and modern systems help them - ABS, EBD, ESP and others.

In the Russian market, the third-generation restyled Hyundai Tucson is sold in six trim levels to choose from - "Primary", "Family", "Lifestyle", "Dynamic", "High-Tech" and "High-Tech plus".

A basic crossover with a 150-horsepower engine, "mechanics" and a front-wheel drive transmission costs from 1,399,000 rubles (surcharge for 6АКПП is 70,000 rubles). Its equipment includes: six airbags, air conditioning, 17-inch alloy wheels, ABS, ESP, fabric upholstery, a media center with a 5-inch screen, a light sensor, an audio system with six speakers, heated front seats, four electric windows, cruise control and other equipment.

An all-terrain vehicle with a 2.0-liter "four" and all-wheel drive costs from 1,569,000 rubles ("Family"), for a diesel modification you will have to pay at least 1,769,000 rubles, a version with a 177-horsepower turbo engine will cost from 1,919,000 rubles ( the last two - from the “Lifestyle” solution), and the “top” option cannot be bought for less than 2,089,000 rubles.

The most "equipped" car boasts: electric drive and ventilation of the front seats, heated rear sofa, leather interior, dual-zone "climate", multimedia system with a 7-inch display, heated steering wheel, panoramic roof, blind spot monitoring, auto-braking system, rear view camera, "Rollers" by 19 inches, LED optics and some other "gadgets".

Hyundai Tucson is a Korean-made compact crossover, one of the competitors of Volkswagen Tiguan, Peugeot 3008 and Kia Sportage. The model has been produced since 2004. Sold as Hyundai ix35 in some markets. In 2005, the hydrogen modification FCEV appeared in the Tuscon family. Today the third generation of Tucson is being produced. The car debuted in 2015.

Hyundai Tucson owner reviews

Generation 1

With 2.0 petrol engine

  • Semyon, Nikolaev. I liked the car, with a comfortable interior and a spacious trunk. It looks practical and is fuel efficient despite the powerful two-liter petrol engine. On average, it turns out 10-12 liters.
  • Julia, Perm. A car for all occasions, and everything suits me. Tucson is geared towards comfort, and this is evident in his slow demeanor. The point in a powerful 2.0 engine is only on a straight track, and the car turns sour in turns. Gasoline consumption on average 11 liters per hundred
  • Oleg, Nizhny Novgorod region I have Tucson since 2008, currently running 120 thousand km. The car is equipped with four-wheel drive and a 2.0 petrol engine. Power of 140 horses is enough for most tasks. I have a version with an automatic transmission, thanks to which the car runs smoothly and comfortably, and it seems softer. This option is great for Russian city roads, and speed bumps can be bypassed at a decent speed. Fuel consumption is 10-12 liters of gasoline per hundred.
  • Alexander, St. Petersburg. I have Hyundai Tucson since 2009, now the odometer shows 208 thousand km. There were a lot of breakdowns, but they were all resolved by the dealer. In general, I'm not particularly worried about repairs, since the car is reliable. With a 2.0 engine and automatic transmission, it eats 10-12 liters.
  • Dmitry, Tyumen. I bought a Hyundai Tucson on the secondary. Machine in 2010, with a range of 180 thousand km. Before me, the crossover had two owners, they exploited the wheelbarrow to the fullest, and this is clearly visible. Someone ironed off-road, and who got into an accident a couple of times. The device showed an uneven thickness of the body paint - in some places traces of putty were noticed. In general, the car has seen a lot. I am glad that it is still on the move, and that I got it for a low price. The 2.0-liter engine produces honest 140 horsepower, vigorous and dynamic acceleration. There is four-wheel drive, automatic and all options. Fuel consumption from 10 to 12 liters / 100 km.
  • Anton, Dnepropetrovsk. I have Hyundai Tucson since 2008, with 107 thousand mileage. Equipped with a 2.0 engine and automatic transmission. The four-wheel drive car behaves clearly and predictably, the handling is perfected. Consumption of 10 liters in the city.
  • Nikolay, Nizhny Novgorod. I was impressed by the car, complete with a 2.0 engine and automatic. Such a Tucson is ideal for the city, and knows how to adapt to city traffic jams or urban conditions. More precisely, the car is simple and straightforward to operate. Consumption up to 12 liters.
  • Oksana, Sverdlovsk. A comfortable and reliable crossover for our rugged surroundings. A 2-liter gasoline engine starts up without problems, consumes an average of 11 liters.
  • Fedor, Ryazan. I bought a car for my wife, but it so happened that on Tucson I usually drive. Moreover, she did not like the car, but it was just right for me. We have a car in the basic configuration, with front-wheel drive and a 2.0 engine. Gearbox - mechanics. Fuel consumption is 10-11 liters per 100 km. Typical urban crossover.

With 2.0 diesel engine

  • Igor, Chelyabinsk. Car produced in 2008, normal condition. I recently bought it on the secondary, mileage is currently about 160 thousand ka. Diesel growls under the hood, because of it everything in the cabin rattles and rattles. Probably, this age affects. Fuel consumption is about 10 liters.
  • Irina, Leningrad region. I'm happy with the car, the dream of my life has come true - this is my first crossover! Model 2004, bought on the secondary. In good condition, with a mileage of 100 thousand. You can accelerate to at least 200 km / h. Diesel two-liter consumes 8-10 liters per 100 km.
  • Vladimir, Kazan. I liked the car. A high-torque diesel engine with a volume of 2.0, excellent brakes and handling, in addition, there is a four-wheel drive. I consider Tucson one of the best cars of its time. The first generation of the crossover impressed me pleasantly, I drive it and do not complain. Fuel consumption can be in the range of 9-10 liters per hundred, very worthy for a compact budget crossover. AvtoVAZ doesn't even have that.
  • Alexey, Magnitogorsk. I bought the car in 2006, took the top-end diesel version with mechanics. 140 strength was more than enough for me. I was pleased with the acceleration dynamics, I think 10 seconds to hundreds is an excellent indicator for a car of this level. Although the design of the model is a bit old and leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, the Koreans have not been able to come up with something worthwhile. And they managed to do this only in the last generation of Tucson 2017. By the way, I plan to sell my old Tucson soon and buy a new generation instead. The old model consumes 10 liters per hundred, equipped with a 2.0 diesel engine.
  • Anna, Magnitogorsk. Tucson is a comfortable and reliable car, I use it in the city, sometimes I go out of town to frolic, so to speak. Fuel consumption with diesel engine - 8-10 liters.
  • Nikita, Kaliningrad. In Hyundai Tucson, I feel at home, I will praise the car for a comfortable interior and pleasant finishing materials. Sitting comfortably, fabric seats enhance the feeling of coziness. My Tucson is equipped with a diesel two-liter and consumes an average of 9-10 liters, which is not much for this class.
  • Olga, Vologda region. I am satisfied with the car, a typical urban crossover with good handling, it is not suitable for serious off-road conditions, despite the four-wheel drive and high torque. Diesel consumption does not exceed 10 liters.

With 2.7 petrol engine

  • Ekaterina, Zhitomir. My Hyundai Tucson is a 2005 model year car, a very comfortable and practical crossover for the family. But now it is a full-fledged SUV. Shod the car in wide tires with a deep pattern, and now I'm storming off-road. There is a standard all-wheel drive, which works perfectly with a manual transmission. The 2.7-liter engine is gasoline and produces 170 horses. Not a particularly modern engine, but it accelerates the car in 10 seconds to the first hundred. Fuel consumption is of course hellish - 14 liters per hundred. But nothing, you can slowly get used to it, especially since I have HBO.
  • Maxim, Tula region. I liked the car. The level of comfort in Hyundai Tucson suits the needs of my spoiled children. My daughter and son love a seat in the back seat, I installed child seats for them, although I don't really understand why. Let them get used to the usual seat. Fuel consumption with a 2.7 engine does not exceed 15 liters. I have a manual transmission version.
  • Mikhail, Voronezh region. The car behaves with dignity on the highway and in the city, fuel consumption with a gasoline engine of 170 sludge and a manual transmission is on average 8-10 liters.
  • Margarita, Novosibirsk. A versatile car with a comfortable suspension, four-wheel drive and reliable handling - all this is about the Hyundai Tucson. A sturdy car, withstands any scuffle, wherever I am. Consumption 10-12 liters with motor 2.7.
  • Nikolay, Donetsk. Hyundai Tucson 2007, covered over 180 thousand km. No serious damage was noticed, I will see what happens next. I serve in the service, but without a guarantee. The car is equipped with a 2.7-liter internal combustion engine with a flow rate of 15-16 liters.
  • Igor, Vladimir region. The car is comfortable enough to consider buying the next generation Tucson. I still have a first generation model, but I plan to buy another third model. Of course, the first Tucson will have to be sold. He changed my mind and made me think well of Korean cars. Now I vote for them. My old man consumes an average of 10 liters on the highway and up to 15 in the city.
  • Alexander, Odessa. 2006 car, before restyling. I took the most top-end version than flicker. Moreover, for such and such money. The Tucson drives fast, and its 2.7-liter engine looks like it's from another car - from some hot hatch, for example. It produces an acceptable 175 forces, and a fuel consumption of 14 liters per 100 km.

Generation 2

With 1.6 petrol engine

  • Konstantin, Irkutsk. I'm happy with the car, despite under 100 thousand mileage, I'm not going to sell it yet. Tucson is still in its very juice, and does not annoy with frequent breakdowns. With 1.6 engine and automatic transmission it is very dynamic and economical. City consumption 9-10 liters.
  • Anton, Dnepropetrovsk. The 1.6 motor is ideal for this crossover. It is turbocharged and has great overclocking potential. Excellent elasticity throughout the entire rev range, and the automatic transmission quickly clicks gears and unleashes the full potential of the engine. My Tucson has a perfectly tuned chassis, the Korean engineers did their best. It is not for nothing that the people say that Asians are hardworking people and learn quickly. I liked the car in all respects. And in my opinion, Tucson with its chassis is more tuned for the driver than practicality or some kind of family values. Average fuel consumption is 10 liters of gasoline per 100 km. I fill only 95th gasoline.
  • Nail, Ufa. The car is worth the money. Perfectly tuned chassis, high reliability of the engine and transmission. With a 1.6-liter engine, acceleration to hundreds takes less than 10 seconds, it's a feast for the eyes. The machine eats 9-10 liters per hundred.
  • Daniel, Nikolaev. My Hyundai Tucson drove more than 100 thousand km, the car was produced in 2016. Rides comfortably and is well controlled, a reliable car for all occasions. Consumes 10 liters of gasoline.
  • Olga, Yaroslavl. I got the car from my husband, and he himself moved to the Volkswagen Tiguan. Allegedly, I changed my orientation towards the Germans, but somehow I don't mind. I am very happy with the gift, I have long dreamed of buying a crossover, and then I got it for free. In general, my husband and I are hardworking people, and we work for ourselves and give gifts to ourselves, this is our habit or tradition, if you like. And then such a surprise - my husband gave me a Tucson, and even with a powerful 1.6-liter and automatic. City consumption 9-11 liters.
  • Ruslan, Nizhny Novgorod region. The car impressed me. I have a 2015 Tucson, equipped with a 1.6 turbocharged gasoline engine. There is a four-wheel drive and an automatic transmission. There are absolutely all the options that can be in a modern car. Consumption of 10-11 liters in the most dynamic driving mode.

With 2.0 petrol engine

  • Yuri, Nizhny Novgorod. My husband is a kind-hearted man. He gave me a 2015 Tucson, with a two-liter engine and an automatic transmission. Completely new, only from a car dealership. It was as if I had just given birth, I was right in seventh heaven that day. I'm happy with the car, it makes me happy every day with its amazing behavior on the road. Gasoline consumption per 100 km is up to 12 liters per 100 km. Spacious interior and elastic suspension, moderately stiff - roll in corners is minimal, the chassis is tuned perfectly for this class. In my opinion, Tucson is better than its closest competitor Kia Sportage.
  • Alexander, Odessa. A car for all occasions, I immediately realized that as I got behind the wheel of a Hyundai Tucson. In the cabin, everything is done with soul, high quality and soundly. Soft plastics coexist with top-end equipment. I have a two liter version that consumes about 12 liters per hundred.
  • Irina, Lipetsk. Hyundai Tucson drove 105 thousand km, no serious breakdowns have been found yet. The engine is quiet and does not make noise even at high speeds. You need to listen to him. Two liters of volume in the city is enough for 10 liters of gasoline.
  • Pavel, Yekaterinburg. The five-door crossover Hyundai Tucson is suitable for everyday travel and country travel. With a 2.0 engine and four-wheel drive, it consumes 9-12 liters / 100 km.
  • Anton, Petropavlovsk. Hyundai Tucson is a comfortable and reliable car, universal in character. It is easy to operate, and even a beginner can handle the machine. The car is easy not only to operate, but also to operate. In the sense that you need to fill in gasoline and that's it. Well, as a last resort, change the oil and filters, and everything else is the concern of professionals. Moreover, it is necessary to call in to MOT only in accordance with the regulations, since the car practically does not break down. Equipped with a two-liter engine with a consumption of 11-12 liters of gasoline per 100 km.
  • Igor, Kharkov. Great car as the first car. I passed on the right and drove straight to the Hyundai car dealership. At first I planned Solaris, but with it I would not look original, because everyone has such a car. Tucson is a rarer car, I have a version with a 2.0 engine and a gun, the consumption in the city is 12 liters of gasoline per hundred.
  • Inna, Chelyabinsk. I am satisfied with the car, comfortable suspension and tenacious brakes - just for Russian roads and hectic traffic jams. Large trunk and roomy interior, stylish appearance. With a 2.0 engine and four-wheel drive, the car consumes 10-12 liters per 100 km.

With 2.0 diesel engine

  • Valery, Vologda region. I bought a Tucson with a two-liter diesel engine and an automatic transmission. A very economical and dynamic car, consumes 8-10 liters in the urban cycle. And acceleration to hundreds takes less than ten seconds. Excellent work of the chassis, friendly work of the engine and gearbox, 6-8 liters per 100 km on the track. We were pleased with the soft plastics in the cabin and modern equipment. I also commend Tucson for the premium sound system. The car almost does not roll in corners, and this is a huge plus for a crossover.
  • Marina, Moscow. Hyundai Tucson is a compromise option between Volkswagen Tiguan and Kia Sportage. Both competitors take on their honed handling, and the Tucson, as it turned out, has both. Diesel engine 2.0 liter - traction and vigorous. Consumes an average of 11 liters.
  • Yuri, Arkhangelsk. Happy with the car, a versatile family car for city and highway travel. You can go to the extreme off-road, but you have to be very careful. First, be neat and try not to hurt the belly because of the low road clearance. Secondly, I have a two-liter diesel engine under the hood. It is high-torque and capable of dynamics, but its potential is not able to reveal a brooding machine gun. In the city, there may be enough boxes, but not on the road. Average fuel consumption is 9 liters per 100 km.
  • Olga, Ulyanovsk. The car is ideal in all respects, it is worth buying a new generation of Tucson. My first car. With a 2-liter diesel engine it consumes only 9-10 liters / 100 km.
  • Nikolay, Saratov. The car was produced in 2016, with a mileage of 57 thousand km. I liked the car, with a powerful two-liter diesel engine and an automatic transmission. In the city, my Tucson eats no more than 10 liters per 100 km.
  • Ekaterina, Lipetsk. My Hyundai overcame over 110 thousand, the flight is normal. The frequency of breakdowns is quite predictable, all repairs are carried out in the service. Why should I get my hands dirty if there are such skilled men in the service. My Tucson is equipped with a diesel engine and automatic transmission, in the city it eats an average of 10 liters per 100 km.

I bought the car in March 2008. But of course, like any motorist, I decently took a steam bath about what kind of car to take, given that there was only a certain amount of money on hand, it was necessary to start a reliable car that was adapted to the roads of Russia. To make the right choice, I formed a table in which I indicated the necessary technical characteristics, options, well, at the very bottom, I registered the cars that caught my attention, and these were Mazda 3ka, Hyundai Elantra, Opel Astra, Kia Sid.

I will not describe all my agony of choice, but in the end I decided that I would buy Sid (because then I liked how the cost and minced meat correlate in this car), but only the clearance was upsetting that the car had recently appeared on the market, and this means that the manufacturer has not dealt with all the “childhood diseases” yet. Therefore, after consulting a little more, we decided to increase the amount that we can spend on buying a car and decided to buy a Hyundai Tucson (front-wheel drive, mechanics). I looked through avtomneniya, forums and realized that the car is nothing like that.

The car is dynamic, that's only if over 4 thousand. rpm, then the speed is not picked up so quickly, at lower rpm the engine is a little weak. If you are walking on the highway at a speed of 80 to 100, then you need to prepare beforehand if you want to overtake, because the speed is not gained very intensively, but the dynamics in the city is very good. There is a lot of noise from regular tires, but in general, in terms of Shumkov, the car is certainly normal. Then here's another moment, when I was already picking up the car, I did not pay attention to the fact that the hood did not have heat and noise insulation. Anyway, I learned about the fact that she was missing after I looked through the information on the car on one of the forums. Suspension rigidity is quite satisfactory, i.e. she does not goat when cornering, in behavior she is similar to Elantra. The cabin is spacious, especially steep at the back, so spacious, compared to Santa Fe, and so the tunic in the tunic, only with the luggage compartment cut off. But only if the armrest had larger dimensions and some kind of flimsy. Well, it is also the velor upholstery of the passenger compartment that is not very practical, because all the dirt sticks and it is not very convenient to vacuum. You can somehow bring it back to its normal form only with the help of Velcro brushes. In terms of lighting, everything is cool here too. With the climate, comfort is also added during the trip, quite fast cooling and heating, well, the good news is that there is no fogging of the windows. Car with audio preparation, then it was installed head. device selected ZhVS.

Advantages of the car: ground clearance, as for me, 10 liters is a very economical indicator.

Minuses of the car: when you start up the hill, the wheels start to slip.

I can say with complete confidence that the money they want for the mug is really worth it. By the way, I would not recommend you to buy a 2.7 liter engine, because in terms of dynamics, it turns out to be not so big, but in terms of appetites, then with Tushkan at 2.7 you can go broke.

Tucson ("Tussan" or, as we called it, "Tushkan") has a rather short history. It only had one generation, which was produced from 2004 to 2009. Its continuation was the Hyundai ix35, which completely changed its name and design to isolate itself from the "gray" ancestor. Surprisingly, the "brother" of Kia Sportage remained true to its roots, and lost little from this.

These cars began to be delivered to Russia only in 2005, and before that they were imported bypassing dealers, and such copies were traveling from all over the world: from the USA, Europe and Korea. When the cars went officially, at first they had only gasoline engines (2 and 2.7 liters), four-wheel drive, "mechanic" or "automatic" boxes. Since 2007, they began to import mono-drive versions and diesel engines.

Market offers

Tucson was selling very well - hence the large number of offers on the "secondary". 70% of cars have four-wheel drive, and 30% have only the front axle. 60% of all cars on the market have automatic transmission, "on the handle" - about 40%. As for engines, 87% of cars run on gasoline and 13% on diesel fuel.

Engine

Petrol engines are generally reliable, whether it is an inline 2-liter "four" with 140 hp. or a 2.7-liter V6 with 173 hp. They both digest our gasoline perfectly and do not have any chronic problems. True, with the V6 you will have an uncontested four-wheel drive and automatic transmission, and with a "junior" engine you can choose both a drive and a transmission. The timing belt on the motors must be changed already at a run of 60,000 km and it is better to do this together with the replacement of the tension roller. Flush the fuel system twice as often.

The 175-horsepower "six" is paired with an "automatic", which, despite the archaic four-speed, provides the ability to change gears manually. But the parallel start wins Tucson over and over again! Both in manual mode and in automatic mode. What's the matter? In the settings of the accelerator, which is sharper on Hyundai and damped on Kia. So it turns out that at the very beginning, Sportage loses those few meters, which then are not able to win back.

You can only distinguish a "Russian" diesel from an imported one from Europe by its VIN number, but be aware that a car from the Old World drives faster. These cars have a variable geometry turbine, which increases the engine output. The version on "heavy" fuel has problems with the fuel system, or rather the injectors and injection pump. Moreover, the first can be cleaned, but the second, most likely, will have to be changed in the assembly. And do not forget to change the air filter of the fuel tank at every second MOT - this is the peculiarity of the machine.

Transmission

The torque on cars with the 4WD formula is transmitted by default to the front wheels. Only if necessary, the BorgWarner electromagnetic clutch can automatically transfer up to 50% of the torque to the rear axle. Also, the clutch can be forcibly locked with a button, but remember that all 4 Tucson wheels can only spin up to 40 km / h. The clutch itself is reliable and should not cause problems if the previous driver did not abuse off-road driving and skidding in the snow. A simple diagnostic method is to inspect the outside of the clutch for oil leaks, which indicate a "punctured" oil seal.
In automatic mode, Borg-Warner's Torque-On-Demand transmission transfers 99% of the torque to the front axle, and the car is only suitable for driving on slippery roads or tightly packed dirt. The rear axle is connected when the front wheels slip by means of an electromagnetic clutch, and the moment of connection is not always predictable, and even accompanied by a tangible push. However, this does not affect the reliability of control, since even when the clutch is triggered during cornering, the Tucson clearly keeps the trajectory.

The clutch in the five-speed manual gearbox maintains approximately 100,000 km and is changed as a set. There are no complaints about the automatic transmission, a simple four-speed hydromechanical and very reliable design. However, in the early years, a decent number of boxes on the 2.7 engine were replaced by dealers in the assembly under warranty. Due to inappropriate firmware when kick-down on a powerful V6, the entire clutch package was out of order. Then the software in those automatic transmissions that did not have time to "die" was changed during the recall campaign, and the problem was settled. It is curious that, according to the assurance of the masters, the "automatic machines" on the V6 after revision began to work even smoother than with 2-liter engines. Moreover, according to mechanics, it runs much smoother on a V6 than on a 2-liter engine. It is necessary to change the oil in the automatic transmission every 45,000 km, and in the manual transmission - every 90,000 km.

Suspension

From almost all, without exception, Tucson owners, you can hear complaints about knocking on the chassis. This, unfortunately, is the problem of the car, and there is no cure for it. It's just that the silent blocks are quite weak here, especially where the front suspension subframe is attached. Even if you replace all the rubber bands with new ones, in a year or two everything will happen again, so many drivers just got used to it. Shock absorbers also knock, most often the front ones, but at the same time they do not flow, and you should not immediately run to change them. The racks themselves in the front (worth MacPherson) and rear (worth a multi-link) rarely ask for replacement up to 80,000 - 100,000 km. A neat driver's rail can “drive” 150,000 km. It is necessary to change the brake pads both at the front and at the rear every second maintenance, and brake discs - every fourth.

Body and interior

The main problem in the cabin is squeaks. After all, the car is from the budget, so the plastic is hard, and the fit of the parts is not perfect. The armrest, ventilation nozzles, glove compartment and walls in the trunk most often begin to creak. There are problems in "Tushkana" and with tightness, so first of all check the area of the eyeglass case for water leaks.

The very first glance at the car immediately confuses all the cards. The robust Tucson, protected "in a circle" by unpainted plastic armor, is perceived as a working option. It is not afraid to leave the city asphalt on it and dare on an off-road adventure without the risk of damaging the body.

But to the body, or rather to its color, there are no complaints. Tucson is painted with high quality and does not begin to rust by itself at the age of 10 years. If you saw corrosion, then, most likely, this element was exposed to external influence (impact) and the previous owner painted it badly. In isolated cases, drivers noted the formation of rust in the area of the hatch, therefore, if you have the maximum configuration in front of you, inspect the hatch very carefully.

Electrical equipment

There are no obvious problems here either, since all the electrics are simple. Of the little things, it is worth noting the cheating onboard computer, which underestimates the real fuel consumption, as well as the incorrect operation of the external thermometer. Drivers say that in the rear window heating, the uppermost heating thread often stops working. Usually this problem was "treated" during the warranty period, but it sometimes occurred even after its end.

Maintenance cost from authorized dealers

Tucson's prices for maintenance are average in the market, routine maintenance differs only in the timing of the oil change in the transmission: in the automatic transmission it is necessary to change every 45,000 km, and in the manual transmission twice less often. We give the prices for maintenance in total for work and spare parts.
