Engine oil for Renault Logan 1.4. What kind of oil is poured into Renault Logan

The best oil for a car Renault Logan always considered the one recommended by the factory producing this model. In all Renault service centers, when carrying out routine maintenance to replace the engine lubricant, oil of the French brand ELF is poured. AT rare cases TOTAL oil can be offered, which is produced by the same plant as ELF. They even have the same retail containers.

Of course, the owner may disagree with the oils recommended by the plant and act at his own discretion. The most common reasons for this are:

  1. As a rule, the search for the best oil occurs after the end of the warranty period, and is caused by a frank desire to perform a simple procedure on your own, and not pay for engine oil replacement services at an official service;
  2. When buying an original oil on your own, you can easily purchase a counterfeit, therefore, a lubricant with more reliable protection against counterfeits is chosen;
  3. The desire to save money on the purchase of oils and, as a result, the choice of brands with a more affordable cost. This is the most common reason for owners of older models;
  4. Advice from friends, acquaintances or work colleagues who use another, better, in their opinion, oil in their cars.

The Renault concern has developed standards for the quality of oils used in cars. According to the API classification, the characteristics of oils must correspond to the classes SL, SM and SN. In addition, ash content, the presence of the necessary additives, etc. should be taken into account. Any engine oilthat meets the requirements and temperature regime operation (the lower the ambient temperature, the lower the oil viscosity should be) can be used to lubricate the Renault Logan engine. When making a selection of engine oils for our rating, we took into account not only the above requirements. The decision was greatly influenced by the reviews of owners pouring oils from other manufacturers into Renault Logan, the recommendations of minders who are faced with the repair of engines of this brand in their work and the brand's popularity among motorists.

Best synthetic oil

This category of lubricants most closely matches modern automotive engines. Less susceptibility to work at high temperatures and preservation of lubricating properties and specified fluidity in cold weather, allows uninterrupted lubrication of friction pairs in the motor, even at peak loads. For Renault Logan cars, especially with low mileage, only synthetics should be poured.

5 Lukoil Luxe Synthetic 5W-30

Best price in category
Country Russia
Average price: 1 240 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.2

Domestic oil not only has excellent properties, but also received Renault RN 0700 approval, and can be used in the corresponding Renault Logan engines. The oil is ready to provide the engine with reliable protection in severe operating conditions. It washes the engine perfectly and prevents the formation of sludge deposits, suppresses oxidation processes at high temperatures, and can increase engine power.

In their reviews, car owners pouring Lukoil Luxe Synthetic note a decrease in noise during engine operation, fuel economy, and the absence of the effect of severe frosts on engine start. Laser notches, polymer sticker and technological features of the lid on the canister provide reliable protection and completely prevent the appearance of a counterfeit product on the market.

4 WOLF VITALTECH 5W40

No fakes on the market. Stable viscosity characteristics
Country: Belgium
Average price: 1 762 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.5

The lubricant is based on the highest quality base oils and a set of modern additives of the latest generation. As a result, WOLF VITALTECH has excellent fluidity when low temperatures, good antioxidant properties, extended service life. The engine oil has received approval and recommendations from the manufacturer Renault Logan, so it can be safely used not only in an engine with a volume of 1.6 liters, but also with a more economical 1.4 liter. The increased viscosity of this oil is also ideal for worn engines.

The reviews characterize the product as high quality, the low prevalence on domestic market, which is the best guarantee of the absence of counterfeits. The latter statement is also considered a lack of oil, because it is rarely found in car stores and markets.

3 BP Visco 5000 5W-40

Better engine protection against deposits
Country: England
Average price: 1,468 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.7

BP Visco is time-tested and meets all the requirements for oils for Renault Logan. The unique system of additives Clean Guard gently cleans the engine from previously formed sludge and varnish deposits, does not allow combustion products that get into the oil to settle on the surfaces of parts, significantly increasing the life of the engine.

Those who pour this engine oil into the engine of their Renault Logan note the easy start of the engine even in very severe frosts, the quieter operation of the unit, as well as a noticeable decrease in fuel consumption. In addition, the reviews indicate the possibility of year-round use of the oil, an increased interval between replacements and no change in characteristics by the end of the service life.

2 Motul 8100 Eco-clean 5W-30

Reliable engine protection against wear
Country: France
Average price: 4 566 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.8

The ideal engine oil for modern engine Renault Logan. When switching to its use, the owners in the reviews note a quieter and softer engine operation, fuel economy. The oil does not have factory access to use in Renault Logan, as it is in premium segment engine oils and pouring it into this car is more than expensive. At the same time, the oil parameters are in full compliance with Renault's requirements and there are many drivers who pour Motul 8100 Eco-clean into their Logan.

In the reviews, they note positive changes in the operation of the motor - it becomes more economical (seen on gasoline engines with a volume of 1.6 liters), is much quieter and more stable, and also carefully maintains the internal cleanliness of the unit at a very high level. The only drawback can be considered high cost product.

1 ELF EVOLUTION 900 NF 5W40

it the best oil, which can be safely poured into the Renault Logan engine. It is available not only in all Renault service centers, but also at many auto oil sellers. When buying online or in a retail network, you should be very careful not to buy a fake. The high quality of the lubricant and its great popularity in our country (ELF is poured not only into cars of the Renault group, but also into many other cars, including domestic ones) has become the reason that, under the guise of a branded product, fraudsters sell a surrogate to the consumer that has little in common with ELF EVOLUTION engine oil.

Reviews of motorists confirm good detergent properties, lubricant stability under high loads, low waste. There is also a fuel saving effect. The lack of effective protection against counterfeiting is noted among the shortcomings.

The best semi-synthetic oil

Renault Logan motor design allows the use semi-synthetic oil only with significant engine wear (mileage 400,000 km and more). Synthetics cannot fully fill the increased gap and provide high-quality lubrication of parts. This is especially true for engines with a volume of 1.6 liters. But even in these cases, the choice must be approached carefully, since not all semi-synthetics can be used in Renault Logan.

3 TEXACO Havoline Extra 10W-40

The most durable lubricant
Country: USA
Average price: 1,449 rubles.
Ranking (2019): USA

Has Renault approvals and is ideal for Renault Logan engines with intensive use in difficult conditions. The base oils and additives provide stable viscosity, good protection from corrosion and from the formation of internal deposits.

The owners, who began to pour Havoline Extra into Renault Logan, note the almost complete absence of waste, excellent detergent properties, and the quality of the motor oil corresponds to more expensive and popular brands. Also in the reviews they note the absence of counterfeit products on the market. Among the disadvantages, it is not always available in specialized retail outlets. But with the help of the Internet (for the accuracy of the choice, you should know the article), you can always purchase it in advance.

2 Castrol MAGNATEC 10W40

Better engine protection
A country: England (Produced in Belgium)
Average price: 1 235 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.6

A group of Intelligent Molecules additives gives the oil the ability to "cling" to rubbing surfaces and stay on parts even when the engine is not running. Thanks to this technology, when starting the engine even in cold weather, there is not a split second of friction pairs without lubrication, which significantly increases the resource.

In their reviews, the owners of Renault Logan talk about the ability of the oil to gently clean the engine from previously accumulated sludge - just a couple of changes are enough. The properties of engine oil when operating under extreme loads help to save the engine from overheating. High temperature stability prevents sludge formation. Also in the reviews it is noted main drawback - the possibility of purchasing a cheap fake under the guise of a quality product, which can not only disappoint the consumer with quality, but also harm the engine.

1 LIQUI MOLY Top Tec 4100 5W40

The most environmentally friendly oil
Country: Germany
Average price: 3 110 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.8

Filling this oil in Renault Logan is also permitted by the manufacturer - the composition of the oils meets the requirements of Renault RN 0700 / RN 0710. The owners in their reviews note the appearance of fuel economy, easy start at subzero temperatures. In models with a 1.6 liter engine. a noticeable increase in the resource - maintenance-free operation with a mileage exceeding 500 thousand km. At the same time, the transition to this engine oil took place after 200 thousand km.

Engine oil Reno logan determines its performance. If all gears are thoroughly lubricated, there is no chance of damage. In the opposite case, a "snowball" of problems begins, following each other. Car reliability begins with the right oil.

System design

In general, the lubrication system is arranged as follows: there is an oil pump, which is equipped with a drive from the crankshaft ( timing mechanism), and he distills oil from the pallet to the main. The first part installed in the line is oil filter - it is required change periodically. When the oil filter is clogged, the bypass valve opens - oil bypasses the filter. If the pressure becomes redundant another valve is triggered - reductive... Through it, part of the liquid from the line goes into the sump.

With a lack oil pressure the switch contact opens, the indicator is triggered. The details that allow diagnostics include control probe - it is submerged in the engine sump. On motors K4M and K7M the probe is at different points.

Important items list and replacement process

You will need:

  • Oil filler plug: items 7 and 1;
  • Drain plug: located on the bottom of the engine sump;
  • Oil filter housing: 19 and 6, respectively.

To unscrew the filter, need a puller... If not, in the case closer to the bottom make a holeand then use an awl or screwdriver, as a lever... The filter is dismantled after draining the oil. Before installing a new filter, on the contrary, fill with oil.

Unscrew the drain plug tetrahedron "8"... There will be a washer under the plug. Replacement allowed - copper washer with inner diameter 18 mm.

The original oil filter is suitable for all engines discussed here. Its Renault catalog number is 7700274177. Sellers, moreover, use the designation 7700274177FCR210134... And Renault has a filter 8200768913 , also suitable. Have a good choice.

What to pour and in what quantity

It is important to choose the right engine oil, otherwise the engine life may be reduced several times.

  • For the K4M (16V) motor - 4.8 l, Elf Evolution SXR brand, viscosity 5W40;
  • For 8-valve engines - 3.3 liters, Elf Evolution SXR, 5W30 brand.

From the factory, the same oil will be poured into different engines of the Logan - Elf Excellium LDX 5W40... It is the W40, not the W30.

Intervals between replacements for different motors do not differ: it is necessary to replace it once a year or after every 15 thousand km. Oil with index W40 is more viscous than W30. And in a used engine 150-200 thous. it is better to cast more viscous material.

All materials listed above are made of synthetic base and refer to "synthetics" only.

Different oils produced under the same brand can be mixed. For example, the W30 index at 100 degrees corresponds to the numbers "9.3-12.4", and the W40 index - "12.5-16.2". Make a choice.

Let's start the review by listing the quality classes for ACEA. Any oil is suitable for Logan engines, if it belongs to "Gasoline" class: A1, A2, A3, A5. I.e, there are no restrictions here. But according to aPI classifications, you can use three types of materials: SL, SM, SN.

API oil quality classes

Now for the viscosity. You can use a simple table:

The temperature reaches:

  • -30 gr. Ts.: 0W40 and 0W30;
  • -25 gr. C.: 5W40 and 5W30, also 5W50 for old engines;
  • -20 gr. Ts.: 10W30, 10W40, 10W50;
  • -15 gr. C. and higher: 15W40, 15W50.

It is clear that material with a lower index (5W below 10W) \u200b\u200bis more versatile. But it will also be more expensive.

Which is better, Lada Largus or Renault Logan?

Largus is equipped with Renault K4M (16 cl.) And K7M (8 cl.) Engines.

Motorists use oil "Excellium NF 5W40", but it will be impossible to go to a lower viscosity, W30, then. Know that material with higher viscosity is stronger coked. Happy choice!

By the way, this motor bends the valve when the timing is broken.

Replacing "step by step"

Know It's Better to Drain Oil after warming up engine. The pallet and the material itself will be heated at the same time - the temperature can reach 70-80 degrees... It is necessary to observe the limit caution. For more confidence, you can disconnect the negative terminal: take a flat key "10", loosen the nut, remove the terminal.

Oil change in K4M, K7M-K7J engine

When the terminal disabled, do the following:

  1. The car is rolled into a pit, a part of the body is covered with a cloth;
  2. Unscrew filler plug;
  3. The drain plug must be twisted like this: perform 1-2 turns with a key. Then the plug is unscrewed by hand. Under drainer it is better to substitute an empty container;
  4. Remember that there is washer not to be lost;
  5. Changing the filter to "16-valve", remove the crankcase protection. You need to unscrew the six bolts located around the perimeter. Use carob key "10";
  6. A puller is brought to the filter housing, dismantled. On the "8-valve" puller is brought from above (from under the hood);
  7. The new filter is screwed in hand, then a puller, but first, the filter cavity is filled with oil.
  8. The drain plug is installed in place and tightened, the crankcase protection is returned to its place;
  9. New oil is poured through the upper filler neck. In this case, a funnel made from a plastic bottle.

It is better to wipe off any traces of old oil immediately.

Renault Logan cars are the most popular foreign cars in Russia in recent years. This is due both to a fairly good price-quality ratio, and to their economy and unpretentiousness. Based on the warranty program provided by Renault, service maintenance, within which the oil change is performed, is done after reaching a mileage of 15,000, 30,000, 45,000, 75,000 and 105,000 kilometers, or upon reaching a year of operation ( warranty periodprovided by the firm is equal to three years). Looking back on the recommendations of Renault, branded service centers use ELF Evolution SRX 5w30 and 5w40 engine oils (although the service can sometimes use another brand). In the case when the service independently uses oil of a different brand, then this is not reflected in the warranty, but in the case when the initiative comes from the owner of the car, then in service book a special note is made and, when a warranty case occurs, difficulties with warranty repair may appear.

Mechanisms wear out over three different periods:
The rubbing parts are accustomed to one another. During this period, there is increased wear
Parts wear out slowly over a long time
Wear with increased progression due to the end of the engine life.

The oil recommended by the manufacturer (ELF Evolution SRX 5w30) is classified according to the ACEA system as A1B1, and is characterized as energy saving (if the canister bears the inscription "Full Economy"). This oil is mainly intended for those engines that have not been forced and do not have turbocharging and require the use of oils with a low viscosity at high temperatures. The oil film of such oils is very thin, which makes it possible to use them with new internal combustion engines, thus reducing fuel consumption. For worn-out motors, a thicker oil is required, which will compensate for the increasing gaps in friction pairs.
The oil marked 5w40 complies with the ACEA-classification A3B4, as a result of which it is recommended for use in engines, forced gasoline and diesel engines with supercharging, with which it is recommended to use oil with a low viscosity at high temperatures, which is compensated by a high shear rate. The viscosity of such oils is higher, and this does not allow the oil film to burst in highly loaded friction pairs of engines of this type.
Prices for this brand of oil start at 1,500 rubles per container. In addition, ELF brand oils are used, but without the designation "evolution". Such oil has a price of 450 rubles per liter.
From this it follows that the oils of this brand (by the way, they are of French production) can be found by buyers with the most varied incomes.

The owners of cars of this brand themselves, in their reviews, say that in addition to the factory one, other oils can be used. For example, here's what one of them says:
- although the manufacturer recommended ELF oils 0w30, 5w30, 5w40, changing them after 15 thousand kilometers, it is advisable to change the oil every 10,000 kilometers. In this case, you can use mobil oil Super 3000X1 5w40.
Some believe that the Renault Logan engine will accept any oil from 0w30 to 5w40, as long as this oil has the Renault RN0700 approval. Other Renault Logan owners use Elf Excelium NF 5w40 oil and are quite happy with it. For cold regions (such as Siberia), it is desirable to use oil (synthetic) of almost any manufacturer with an indicator from 0w30 to 0w50.
There are also Renault Logan owners who use Mannol 5w40 oil all year round and say that everything is in perfect order.
Here are the reviews of several more owners of these cars:
- I use Total Quartz oil. Moreover, I used it with all the machines I had, and there were no problems. I have never used "branded" oils and I do not advise anyone: auto concerns do not produce oils on their own, but negotiate with manufacturers of auto chemical goods (and we can only guess about the quality of their products).
- There is no need to use expensive oils (they will not save the day anyway) - this is the wrong approach. The oil must be used that is suitable for tolerance difficult conditions and change it more often. For example, you can use the most ordinary Lukoil with the necessary tolerance, changing it after 5 thousand kilometers - and the engine will remain much better.
Sometimes oils like Liqui Molly Superlehlauf 10w40 can also be used: when using this type of oils, carbon deposits are not observed on the valves and always a good start at low temperatures.
However, if you are guided by the instructions of the manufacturer, which indicates that it is necessary to use only eLF oils (and the company will never advise bad ones), then the maintenance-free mileage will be maximum and for the price these oils are not very expensive. The main thing, in this case, is not to run into a fake, of which there are quite a few now on the car accessories market.

Now let's try to figure out the price spread various oils, which different owners pour into their Renault Logan.
Katrol Magnatek (synthetics) 5w40 capacity in 1 liter will cost from 400 rubles
Elf Exellium (synthetics) NF 0540-EXNF-1 5w40 capacity in 1 liter from 290 rubles
Mobile Delvac extra 10w40 (semi-synthetics) capacity of 4 liters from 1170 rubles
Mobile1 Peak Life (synthetics) 5w50 capacity of 4 liters from 1690 rubles
Mobile1 new life (synthetics) 5w30 capacity of 4 liters from 1800 rubles
Here is an approximate price fork of oils used with Renault Logan cars.

In honor of the anniversary, the company created a new joint line of ELF Evolution RN-Tech lubricants.

In 2018, the ELF lubricants brand and the French automaker Renault celebrate half a century of cooperation. Since 1968, when ELF and Renault signed an oil recommendation agreement, the companies have worked together, developed and achieved success in motorsport and business.

Over 50 years of working together, the companies have been able to achieve industrial growth around the world, increase the efficiency and productivity of their products, and the recognition and trust of fans. A rich experience of collaboration and a common desire to introduce innovations formed the basis of a new joint line of ELF Evolution RN-Tech lubricants, created in honor of the anniversary of the cooperation between the companies.

New original high-quality synthetic lubricants meet all current manufacturer's approvals RN17, RN17 FE and RN RSA. Distinctive feature The anniversary product, in addition to the trademark high performance and reliability, has become a specially designed limited collection design.

The anniversary lubricant range, co-developed by Renault and ELF, includes three types of lubricants designed to meet the needs of the entire 2018 Renault range. So, for example, ELF Evolution RN-Tech Sport 0W-40 oil is adapted to the operating conditions of Renault Sport engines, as well as to use in the most severe climatic and urban conditions. Finally, ELF Evolution RN-Tech Elite FE 0W-20, which exceeds the technological standards and requirements of the ACEA (Association of European Automobile Manufacturers) for emissions of harmful substances into the environment, can increase fuel economy up to 3% * in Renault vehicles by reducing friction in the engine (* according to the official M111FE fuel efficiency improvement test).

“Over the past 50 years, ELF and Renault have jointly met the challenges of today and have achieved impressive results, - comments Mathieu Soulas, Vice President of Total Lubrifiants, - We do not intend to stop, because with Renault we are able to solve any environmental, technical and business problems that may arise in the future. "

“The companies have been cooperating in Russia for over 10 years. "TOTAL VOSTOK" and Renault Russia seek to bring to russian market technical expertise, international innovative technologies and developments in order to develop the local market and improve the quality of customer service. Thanks to this partnership, more and more Russians are choosing the products of our companies "- says Fabienne Voisin, General Director of TOTAL VOSTOK.

ELF and Renault partnership principles

The excellent results of the ELF and Renault collaboration are based on four pillars:

1) Cooperation in the research and development of lubricants and fuels for the first fill at RENAULT factories and for after-sales service of cars. So that already on the first kilometer of your Renault's mileage you can feel the benefits of using special engine oils, we together with technical services RENAULT is constantly working to improve them. In order to get a RENAULT recommendation, our products undergo many tests, and only after them the process of oil production is started in our high-tech factories. Thus, the result of successful technical cooperation was the creation of a series of non-replaceable transmission oils for rENAULT boxes and series original oilsreducing fuel consumption.

2) Systematic joint work with ELF on the development of original oils ELF is the main supplier of the Renault-Nissan alliance (this is especially true for transmission oils in many countries).

4) Cutting-edge collaboration in motorsport

  • The Total Group and Renault Engine Division have an exclusive technical and marketing collaboration in the Formula 1 field,

Hello! After reading this article, You will learn how the oil is changed in the Renault Logan 1.4 and 1.6 liter engine.

It's no secret that timely replacement engine oil significantly extends the life of the engine. The fact is that special additives are added to engine oils, which lose their properties over time. And if you do not change the oil for a long time to a new one, then the engine wear will increase, which will damage it much faster. In this article, we'll talk about correct replacement oil in the engine. So let's get started.

The frequency of oil change in the Renault Logan engine is 15,000 km or 1 year, whichever comes first. However, it should be understood that the weather conditions and the quality of fuel in our country leave much to be desired. Therefore, it is better to reduce the replacement interval to at least 10 thousand km, or even better to 7.

Renault Logan engine oil change - what to fill?

Thank God that now is no longer Soviet times and there is no deficiency with motor oils. Come to the store and choose what your heart desires. You want Liquid Moli, you want Mobile, you want Lukoil ... And so you can go on for a very long time. I didn't have enough fingers and toes to list all the brands of oils that are available in modern car oil stores. And there are also all sorts of inscriptions like 5W40, 5W30, 10W40, etc ... Synthetics, semi-synthetics ... The head is spinning. The common man does not always fully understand these designations. Let's figure it out together.

According to Renault, this is the best choice. If your car is not under warranty, then you can use any brand of engine oil, but with a viscosity of 5W40 all year round, or 10W40 in the summer, and use less viscous motor oils in winter. By aPI standard here, too, everything is democratic. Ordinary semi-synthetics or synthetics (hydrocracking) with a quality class of at least SL are poured into Logan.

To replace, we need no more than 4 liters of liquid and a new one oil filter... By the way, you can additionally use flushing, or you can do without it if the oil was changed in a timely manner.

Oil change in Renault Logan engine - stages of work

First of all, we start the engine and wait until the temperature rises to working temperature. By doing this, we heat up the oil so that it becomes more liquid. When the temperature arrow rapidly crawled up, we turn off the engine and go down under the car.

Of course, it's ideal if you have a hole in your garage ... Or, at least, there is at least a garage!

Usually, the engine protection (armor) on a 1.4l engine has a technological hole for changing the oil in the engine and box. If there is none, as for example on a 1.6l engine, then you will have to remove the protection in order to get close to the engine crankcase. If there is, then just turn it away drain plug, substitute some container and drain the mining. To unscrew the drain plug, we need a tetrahedron.

The next step in changing the oil in a Renault Logan engine is removing the oil filter. You may need an oil filter remover, or you may be able to unscrew it with your hands or improvised means. In general, the main thing is the result. Be careful as some more water will flow out when you unscrew the filter. lubricant... Keep your waste container handy and don't burn yourself. All. Now we are waiting for the oil to drain completely.

We wrap the drain plug in place and tighten with effort. We install a new oil filter, having previously lubricated the sealing ring with fresh oil. Pull the filter out by hand with some effort.

We take a funnel and pour fresh oil into the engine. For the 1.4 engine, a little less than 4 liters of fluid will be required, and for the 1.6 engine - 4.5 liters. Consider this point. The oil level is checked with a dipstick. This is done as follows. First, fill in engine oil up to the maximum mark on the dipstick. After that, close the filler neck and start the engine. Wait until the oil pressure lamp on the dashboard and turn off the engine. Wait 2-5 minutes for the oil to drain into the crankcase. Then check the level again. Ideally, the oil level should be between the minimum and maximum marks. Top up with the required amount of oil if necessary.

After the work done, we remove the leaks of engine oil from the engine and its components and do not forget to write down the mileage at which the replacement was performed. That's all, oil change in the Renault Logan engine can be considered finished. Thanks for reading and don't forget to read our other articles.
