The first version of the crossover took in lineup the manufacturer's seat immediately after the Pilot car, as it turned out to be smaller in size and was equipped with only two rows of seats instead of three. The first Honda Crosstour was a hatchback version of the Accord and was built on the same platform. Technical parameters and configuration

The main specifications car before restyling, mainly depend on the power unit, which this Russian complete set of this model had only one. The six-cylinder V-engine has a volume of 3.5 liters and uses an average of 11.2 liters of fuel - not much for a nearly two-ton SUV. The cost of the pre-styling version of Crosstour depends on the configuration, of which three were supplied to the Russian market. The next versions of the Honda Crosstour were not a new generation, but only a restyling of the car. The start of sales in Europe took place in 2013, in Russian showrooms - a few months later. In the first half of 2015, the manufacturer announced the discontinuation of crossover production, citing low demand as the main reason. Although an additional reason for completing the work on the Crossstour series was the need to bring the CR-V, Acura RDX and MDX models to the market.


Exterior and interior

The design of the car turned out to be modern and, at the same time, characteristic of the Honda company. Excellent aerodynamics is combined with a large radiator grille and narrow headlights, made in the style of the first, pre-styling version, but still updated. And the presence of a central armrest between the front row seats not only increases convenience, but also adds opportunities for using mobile gadgets. In domestic salons, the latest versions of the Honda Crosstour were supplied with 2 options for power units - a 2.4-liter 194 hp. with. and the standard 3.5-liter (281 hp). A less powerful motor was offered complete with a front-wheel drive transmission and an automatic transmission. The second engine with the same gearbox was installed on all-wheel drive modifications. These technical characteristics allowed the car to reach a speed of 100 km / h in 8.1-11.1 seconds and spend in mixed mode from 8.4 to 9.8 liters of gasoline. On the Russian market, the Honda Crosstour model could be bought in one of three trim levels. The official premiere of the restyled Honda Crosstour took place in April 2012 - at the International Auto Show in New York, but only then only as a concept ... and its production version was "born" in November of the same year.

Compared to its predecessor, the car has undergone a serious modernization (and the point is not even that it lost the "Accord" prefix in the name) - the exterior was refreshed, the interior was thoroughly redrawn, new engine V6 in tandem with a 6-band "automatic" and expanded the list of equipment with new systems.

"Crossstour" looks non-trivial, expressive and (due to its impressive dimensions) very respectable. At the front, the five-door flaunts an aggressive look of lighting technology, a multifaceted chrome "shield" of the radiator grille and a raised bumper with a protective strip in the lower part, and at the rear it has a peculiar shape, showing stylish lights, a large fifth door and a bumper with two exhaust pipes.

In profile, the car is perceived as a huge hatchback with a long hood, sloping roof and a heavy stern, the "all-terrain orientation" of which is emphasized by wheel arches of impressive dimensions and solid ground clearance.

The scope of the Honda Crosstour is really impressive: its length is 5020 mm, width - 1900 mm, height - 1560 mm. The crossover has a wheelbase of 2797 mm, and its ground clearance reaches 205 mm.

When equipped, the "Japanese" weighs from 1698 to 1865 kg (depending on the modification).

Inside, "Crossstour" meets its inhabitants with a modern, attractive and quite presentable design - a classic "toolbox" with dial gauges, a weighty four-spoke multi-steering wheel, an impressive front panel, in the center of which two color displays flaunt (the upper one displays a map, information on a board computer and other trifles , and the lower manages the audio system and media center) and a neat block of "microclimate".

The interior of the car is finished mainly with high-quality plastic, which is diluted with exhibitions "like wood" and "like metal".

The front end of the Honda Crosstour is equipped with wide seats with unobtrusive lateral support, soft padding, a lot of electric adjustments and heating. At the back there is a comfortable sofa with an optimal backrest tilt and two-stage heating and a normal supply of free space (but only for two, since the third will be uncomfortable to sit on a hard "roller" in the center of the pillow).

The trunk of the crossover in normal form is able to accommodate 457 liters of luggage, and in addition to this, it is soundly trimmed and supplemented with a 54-liter underground. The second row of seats folds down in a 60:40 ratio, resulting in a completely flat area and increasing to 757 liters (when loaded along the glass line) volume. The small-sized spare wheel at the five-door is suspended under the bottom from the outside.

The Honda Crosstour is powered by one of two naturally aspirated gasoline engines, to choose from:

  • The "base" car is equipped with a 2.4-liter in-line "four" with an overhead camshaft, an aluminum cylinder block, a 16-valve DOHC timing belt, direct fuel injection and an i-VTEC valve control system, which develops 194 horsepower at 7000 rpm and 220 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm.

  • "Top" versions relies on a V-shaped six-cylinder 3.5-liter unit with a single overhead camshaft, direct "power" technology, a 24-valve timing mechanism, a variable valve timing mechanism and the function of deactivating three cylinders at low loads, which produces 281 hp. at 6200 rpm and 342 Nm of torque at 4900 rpm.


The "junior" motor is combined with a 5-speed "automatic" and leading front wheels, and the "senior" - with a 6-band automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive transmission with a multi-plate clutch in the drive rear axle (here, if necessary, up to 50% of the power can be directed).

The crossover has good "driving" characteristics: from 0 to 100 km / h, it accelerates after 8.1 ~ 11.1 seconds, and reaches a maximum of 190 ~ 194 km / h.

In the combined cycle, this crossover consumes from 8.4 to 9.8 liters of fuel for every "hundred" of the run.

"Crossstour" is based on a "front-wheel drive" platform with a transverse engine and a monocoque body, the power structure of which is 46% of high-strength steel grades. On the front axle of the car is installed independent suspension on double wishbones, and on the rear - a multi-link system (in both cases - with hydraulic shock absorbers and stabilizers lateral stability).

As a standard, the five-door has a gear-rack-type steering mechanism, but on the version with a 194-horsepower motor it is supplemented with a hydraulic steering booster, and with a 281-horsepower "six" - an electric booster with variable characteristics.

Appearance

The luggage compartment is a complex structure, because the seats fold down quite interestingly, and a hidden niche is hidden under the floor, the volume of which is 61 liters. The second engine of the new 2015 Honda Crosstour has a displacement of 3.5 liters. The gas distribution system here is SOHC, respectively, only one is installed in the block head camshaft... Despite this, the engineers managed to fit 24 valves here, that is, 4 valves per cylinder. Engine power is 280 horsepower and torque is 252 Nm at 5000 rpm.

Despite the rather impressive working volume, the company's engineers managed to reduce fuel consumption. this engine in the city up to 11.8 liters of gasoline. Controllability deserves special attention. The advanced Real Time 4WD system allows you to instantly react to the changed level of grip of the wheels with the road surface, which ensures the ability to drive confidently in any weather, both on dry and wet roads. The multi-link suspension makes the car very stable when cornering. The front suspension uses double wishbones to facilitate deep cornering. The front shock absorbers are equipped with rebound springs to ensure that the wheels stay in contact with the road when cornering on uneven road surfaces. The installation of an independent rear suspension, which is characterized by sufficient lateral rigidity, also contributes to a high level of vehicle handling.

Spacious and cozy salon allows you to comfortably accommodate five passengers. Finishing is made in American style - leather and wood-effect lining. The Active Sound Insulation System (ANC) protects passengers and the driver from external noise. The driver and passenger seats have several adjustable positions (8 for the driver and 4 for passengers). Using the driver's seat memory function, two favorite settings can be stored. The driver's seat allows you to customize the lumbar spine support for maximum comfort.

The Crosstour is equipped with an intelligent dual-zone climate control system that allows separate temperature control for driver and passenger. Air vents in the rear seat area also contribute to the desired climate in the cabin. Honda engineers took into account the harsh realities of the Russian winter. The car is equipped with separate two-stage seat heating. The heating function is also implemented in the rear-view mirrors, which are equipped with an electric drive and position memory. In addition, the mirrors automatically tilt to improve visibility to avoid hitting obstacles when driving backward.

The trunk is impressive - the volume of the main part of the compartment is 457 liters, with the seats folded down - all 757 liters. A jack and a set of tools are hidden under the raised floor.

Under the hood is a 3.5-liter V-6 engine originally used on the Honda Pilot. 275 hp atmospheric engine and a torque of 339 Nm, confidently pulls an almost two-ton car. The maximum speed is 196 km / h. Acceleration to "hundreds" takes 8.9 seconds. In the urban cycle, the car consumes 15 liters, outside the city the appetite decreases to 10. Together with power plant an automatic 5-speed transmission works, the speed of which can be changed using the paddles located under the steering wheel.

The car has a high level of safety. The model is equipped with a stability system (VSA), anti-lock braking system (ABS) and equipment for brake force distribution (EBD). The body of the Crosstour is divided into special crumple zones with steel strength members that are capable of absorbing high impacts. The passenger compartment is equipped with front and side airbags designed for two levels of deployment. These elements of the safety system are triggered based on the force and speed of the collision, the height of the passenger or driver. To ensure the required level of safety, the car is also equipped with active head restraints. If a child seat is installed in the passenger compartment, the OPDS deactivates the front side airbags for the passenger. The Honda Crosstour provides two of these seats with ISO-FIX anchorages that allow easy installation and removal of the seats.
