All about buying and selling cars

The stove does not work on the Lada Priora (reasons and repairs). What should be done if the heating does not work well in the Lada Priora's car.

If in the car (Priora interests us most of all at this moment), then this situation gives the driver and passengers a lot of inconvenience. In the summer, this problem is irrelevant, because no one is particularly worried about the state of the heater. And only with the onset of cold weather, the overwhelming number of motorists are puzzled by the problem of a non-working heating system.

Possible causes of cold air supply

A common situation is when cold air blows from the Priora stove, there may be more than one reason for this. It is in the definition of the malfunction that the main problem lies. There may be several reasons that the stove on the Priora does not blow:

  1. Engine cooling system failure is the most common problem. It is with her that you should start the diagnosis. In most cases, the stove on the Priore does not turn on for this very reason.
  2. Strongly, which should be replaced with a new one. This procedure should be performed every six months, without waiting for the moment when the stove begins to blow with cold air.
  3. The stove on the Prior is blowing badly, possibly due to the damper, which may be in a jammed state. It may not open completely, thus blocking the path of hot air currents.
  4. And also the problem may lie in the gear motor. It is necessary to check it for performance.
  5. If the stove on the Priore does not work as you would like, then you should pay attention to the control unit.
  6. The temperature sensor can also have a negative effect on the performance of the heating system. To determine this point, you will need to turn off the sensor and see how the heater will behave.

We carry out comprehensive diagnostics

Not so easy. Even experienced motorists cannot cope with this task quickly. In order not to do such a large amount of work in vain, it is better to first diagnose the heating system. It is necessary to act as follows:

  1. We probe the channels through which the coolant flows to the heater. They should be warm when the stove is on. In addition, resistance should be felt when pressing on the main rubber hoses. If resistance is not felt, we can talk about a pump pump malfunction. This mechanism is responsible for creating the pressure of the fluid flows necessary for the normal operation of the heater.
  2. A little secret, perhaps, will be useful to the owners of Lada Priora: does the stove blow with cold air for a long time and does not warm up as quickly as we would like? Then you can try to fill in coolant up to the lower mark in the tank. In this case, the liquid will warm up faster. If you practice this method, you will need to constantly check the level of the coolant.
  3. If it is working, then we can talk about a problem in the bearing, which is located on the electric fan. This situation cannot be ignored, since in the future the fan can jam and the repair will pick up much larger scales.
  4. Stove not working? Perhaps the problem lies in fuse F9 with a rating of 25 A. Its function is to protect the power electrical lines of the heater. A blown fuse must be replaced. If a similar situation occurs with enviable constancy, then it is necessary to check all the electrical circuits of the heater, the insulation of the windings on the fan and the presence of an overload in the power circuit.

Lack of heating at idle

It is not for nothing that this issue has been submitted for separate consideration, since it worries many motorists and the solution to the problem can be much more difficult than you might expect. So, you have a Priora, the stove does not heat up at idle, although when the car is moving, the interior is heated in normal mode. Several possible causes can also be identified here:

  1. Insufficient coolant level.
  2. Leaks that lead to a decrease in the level of antifreeze.
  3. Availability .

While the first two problems can be easily diagnosed and fixed, the airlock is much more complicated. If you have ruled out the first two reasons and the Priora stove still does not heat up at idle, you need to remove the airlock. It is necessary to act as follows:

  1. Dismantle the screen from the engine.
  2. We lower the clamp, after which it is necessary to remove the heating tube of the throttle assembly. We choose any of the two.
  3. Unscrew the cover on the expansion tank. Place a clean rag on the neck and start blowing into the expansion tank. The air supply must be carried out until coolant begins to pour out of the tube, which was previously removed.
  4. We immediately put a tube on the fitting and carefully tighten the clamp.
  5. Installing the screen.

If the option with blowing out the tank does not suit you, then you can go the other way. We warm up the engine so that the pressure in the heating system increases. After a while, we turn off the car and remove the hose from the heating of the throttle assembly. In this case, it is not necessary to remove the cap from the tank. As a result of the high pressure, coolant will be forced out through the tube. It remains to place the tube on the fitting and tighten the clamp.

Now the Priora stove should not be a problem, you know how to fix the malfunction, as well as diagnose and identify the source of problems. Let the heater on your car always turn on, work properly and give comfort regardless of the weather outside the window.

Often, Russian motorists who operate the Lada Priora complain that the stove does not work well, it is cool in the vehicle interior, the side and windshields of the car freeze. In order to understand why the stove on the Priora stopped working, consider the device of the entire heating system on cars of this modification.

Interior heating system Priora

The vehicle is equipped with a stove (heating system) with a climate system, which serves for comfort during a trip in a car. They are designed to avoid problems in the event of a cold snap or other weather changes. Already no one will ask the question why the stove in the Priora does not work, neither the driver, nor the passengers.

The climatic complex of the car includes:

  • the stove itself (heater);
  • stove fan device;
  • temperature sensor in the cabin;
  • housing part of the air distributor;
  • air lines;
  • deflectors (guides for the flow of air masses).

The air flow from the stove is transmitted to the housing of the air distributor, from where it is directed through the air lines. Through the air ducts, the flow rushes to the blow-off grilles of the windshield and side windows, to the air flow guides in the center and side of the dashboard, as well as to the lower plane of the passenger compartment to the floorboards on the bottom of the body. With the arrival of frost, defects in the heating system appear, the most unpleasant of which is that the Lada Priora stove does not work and other malfunctions.

Car heating system malfunctions

In a Lada Priora car, the stove regulator does not work due to a malfunction of the multi-position switch or a defect in the blower fan. When eliminating this malfunction, when the fan of the Priora stove is not working, you should look at the fuse box, which serves as the main supplier of troubles for the operation of the ventilation device. Many defects in the car's climate system are directly related to the operation of the vehicle's cooling system.

In the event that the fan device is serviceable, but the stove on the Prior does not heat well, then the defect should be looked for by a sequential method of cutting off the checked elements. So, the stove on the Priora does not work well and the cabin is cool enough:

First step: on the motor, brought to the optimum temperature, we check the 2 nozzles supplied to the heater for temperature values. If both products are hot, then there is no circulation of air masses, and if one branch pipe is hot and the other cold, then this indicates the absence of a circulation of the aqueous solution in the system. We carry out diagnostics of the heater tap in order to deal with the solution of the cooling system (water, antifreeze).

To this end, we open the hood and move the tap from one position to another. If there is a leak from the heating system, then it must be eliminated, because an insufficient amount of coolant can provoke a situation when cold air blows from the Priora stove and it becomes cool in the cabin. If the tap is rusty and not adjustable, you can leave it in this position during the summer, when the heating system is not in operation. Closer to cold weather it needs to be replaced.

Second phase: when the faucet is in working position and the stove fails to work, remove the filler plug of the radiator reservoir and look for the presence of a cooling liquid. In the case of the formation of the so-called. "Plugs from the air" the level of the coolant is brought to the maximum value (sometimes it happens that cold air blows from the stove in the Prior due to a lack of coolant liquid). After that, we turn on the power plant and sharply press the accelerator pedal several times, which will provoke a circulation of the cooler and, under its influence, the water pump will squeeze out the plug of the air layer.

In order for the air masses to move faster to the output level, it is necessary to enter an elevation so that the radiator is below the radiator of the cooling system. So, the circulation of the cooler has been restored, 2 pipes have become hot, but the stove on the Priora does not work well anyway?

Stage three: the dampers may not work, because an open lever on the dashboard does not mean at all that the dampers have duplicated this command. Failure of the dampers may be associated with loosening of the rods and heater taps, which blocks them in the summer mode.

With the hood open, it will not be superfluous to check whether the Priora stove flaps are working or not working, as well as to clean the heater of last year's debris and foliage. If, after these measures for cleaning the system, the interior heater does not work well or does not function at all, then go directly to the pipes.

Stage four: check the temperature regime of the pipes with the stove turned on. If the fan is in working order, two pipes are hot, but one begins to cool down after a while - it is necessary to change the water pump due to the weak circulation of the cooler. Some car enthusiasts manage to install a small water pump under the stove radiator.

Having started testing the heating system, we bring the technological process to the end:

  1. The coolant level in the expansion tank must be between the "min" and "max" marks.
  2. We test the circulation of the coolant in the expansion tank. Its absence is defined as a defect in the water pump or clogging of the cooling complex.

This completes the diagnostics of the heating system.

In the winter months, you need to find out why the stove does not work and blows cold air on the Priora (or on another domestic-made machine) as quickly as possible. Of course, you will not turn into a piece of ice and do not risk freezing anything for yourself. But driving with a non-working heating is at least unpleasant and fraught with all sorts of colds.

And driving on the track is completely dangerous: God forbid, something will break, you will really freeze until help arrives. Priora is a generally recognized descendant and successor of the Lada-"dozen".

And the manufacturer did not make fundamental design changes to the stove, only individual elements were changed. Accordingly, the disease inherent in the ancestor was inherited by the descendant. All Priora owners unanimously assure that the heating system in it is very unreliable and can break down in several nodes. The worst thing is that in the summer, few people remember about the stove and are puzzled by the check. Therefore, discomfort is detected suddenly and requires lightning-fast action.

Why does the stove not work and blows cold air on the Priora? There are many reasons for this. In decreasing order of frequency, they can be arranged as follows:

  • Stove damper jammed. It does not open and does not let warm air into the passenger compartment. By the way, the opposite option is also possible: if it is closed in the open position, you start to feel like in the sauna;
  • The heating motor has broken down;
  • The stove control unit does not work;
  • Problems in the engine cooling system;
  • The temperature sensor in the cabin has broken down, and the heating system simply does not know that you are cold. Again, in a similar but opposite case, it can be hot.

Clogged filter

Experienced owners Prior developed an algorithm of actions to find out what the heating system has leaked.

First approach

Before all checks, you need to make sure that the fan is working - it will be unreasonable to go deeper if the main element is not spinning. Further actions are as follows.

  • The engine is heated to the desired temperature;
  • The pipes leading to the heater are probed. Both are hot - order, one has an ambient temperature - which means there is no filler circuit;
  • The hood opens, the faucet is located and turns to another position. If he has become attached, he will have to urgently soak it.
  • The system is checked for leaks. The detected ones are eliminated: a constant lack of a cooler is also the cause of cold blowing;
  • The valve is working, there is no leak - the plug is removed from the reservoir and the liquid level is checked. An air lock often forms in the tank; in this case, the cooler is topped up to the norm, and the gas pedal is pressed sharply several times. The fluid cycle will resume and squeeze the plug out of the reservoir;
  • For greater efficiency of the last step, it is better to drive the front end to the nearest bump so that the radiator of the car is below the radiator of the stove.

Second approach

When (or if) both pipes are filled with hot liquid, go to the dampers.

  • You will have to climb under the hood again, this time to observe the operation of the damper;
  • If it is skewed or jammed, you can try to gently wiggle your hand from inside the cabin. For this, the central deflector is removed, the plastic guides are unscrewed to reach the stuck element. Access is possible only for a thin limb, so it is advisable to invite a female person to the procedure, if she does not mind;
  • In case of serious malfunctions with the damper (the fasteners are rusted, the plastic led from the temperature or it cracked), alas, hard work awaits you: you will have to disassemble half of the heating system.

Third approach

The micro-reducer is a complete headache. First, its status is checked:

  • The left handle is moved to the "min" position. After a 15 second wait, the engine starts;
  • The controller is disconnected, which is watching for the ACS;
  • The tester measures the readings on both pins. Resistance should be 800-1200 Ohm for 1303.3854 units; 1313.3854 and 1333.3854; for controller 1323.3854, the norm is 3600-5000;
  • The same operation is carried out at the "max" position. Now the data is in the range 3200-3500 for the first group and 1200-1600 for 1323.3854;
  • In the absence of resistance or its immutability, the track on the sensor is erased. It is not sold separately, so you will have to change the entire MMR. It is clear that not all the reasons why the stove does not work and blows cold air on the Prior can be eliminated on our own.
However, by following the above recommendations, you will at least understand what prevents you from driving comfortably. And also estimate the upcoming expenses. For example, if you have to change the entire SAUO unit, you will have to pay about 1.5 thousand rubles for it. plus the work of an electrician.

With the onset of cold weather, the first malfunctions of the Lada Priora heater begin to appear. Situations can be different, in one case, problems can be with a fan, in another with dampers, etc. Today we will tell you how to properly repair the stove on the Prior with your own hands.

Problems in the engine cooling system?

As practice shows, most of the Priora stove malfunctions arise from the SOD (engine cooling system).

In this case, the procedure is as follows:

1. We check the level of the coolant (coolant) in the expansion tank so that it is between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks. If the coolant has to be topped up all the time, then the cooling system is leaking somewhere. You should carefully inspect all pipes for leaks, and also tighten the clamps. By the way, in order for warm air to go into the cabin faster, many motorists in winter specially add coolant only to the “MIN” mark. After all, the less liquid there is in the system, the faster it will heat up.

2. We check the circulation of the coolant in the SOD, paying attention to the expansion tank.

Video example:

If there is no antifreeze circulation, or it is not sufficient, then the pump may be faulty (it should be replaced) or the cooling system is clogged.

In a Lada Priora car, the heater is no longer just a stove. In fact, this is a complete climate control device. According to its characteristics, the Priora stove is not inferior to foreign devices of this type. But like any mechanism, the Priora stove can fail. This article provides an overview of the heater and the features of its repair.

Features of the Priora stove

Climate control of this car on some variants is designed to install an air conditioner. Therefore, the device of this device in this case is slightly different than that of the VAZ-2110 heater. This article discusses the standard heater option. Although they have a lot in common. The Priora stove (heater without air conditioner) includes the following large units:

  1. Stove body.
  2. Air duct system.
  3. Heater electronic control unit (ECU) with control console.

These are, so to speak, three basic nodes. All of them, except for the ECU, are disassembled and consist of various subsystems. In all fairness, the control unit can also be disassembled if desired. But you shouldn't do that. This is a delicate electronic device and can only be repaired by a specialist. But with the other two, there are options.

Housing

After the control unit, the stove body is the most complex object. The fact is that it includes several elements:

  • Two-piece body.
  • Blower motor with fan.
  • Small heating radiator with nozzles.
  • Variable resistor.
  • Heater air damper.
  • Micromotor gear, heater damper drive.
  • Cabin filter.

Attention! The Priora equipped with air conditioning has additional elements as part of the climate control, but this is a separate topic that is not covered in this article.

All of the listed elements sometimes fail, and it is quite possible to replace them on your own without resorting to the services of a specialist.

Location and access

As on the VAZ 2110 model and modifications, the heater is located outside the passenger compartment. It is located in the engine compartment. Right under the windshield. It is separated from the engine by a special fabric-cardboard partition. And from above it is closed with a plastic double casing, which hides this compartment, in which, in addition to the heater, there are also brake vacuum and a wiper drive.

To gain access to the Priora stove, these elements must be dismantled. Disconnect coolant hoses. Unscrew the 3 fixing nuts and remove the housing. This process is described many times and shown in the accompanying video. Therefore, it is not worth repeating it here.

Cabin filter

Most often, it is this part that fails, or depletes its resource. It is simply clogged with dirt and dust. This is expressed in a decrease in the intensity of the fan. Sometimes, it becomes so dirty that the fuse for the stove blows out. The load on the electric motor grows so much that the fuse simply “knocks out”. The cleaner is located at the air inlet to the heater. Near the right fender of the car. It is closed with a decorative plastic cover.

Important! Don't wait for pollution. It is recommended to replace the filter periodically 2 times a year. In spring and autumn.

Stove motor

To remove and replace the electric motor of the stove, on a Priora without an air conditioner, you have to completely dismantle the heater. Or at least push it forward a little. The fact is that this motor is located on top of the Priora stove and is located under the supporting part of the windshield.

Heater resistor

This element serves as a kind of fan speed switch. Has several resistance steps. Each step is speed. A faulty resistor is easy to identify. If none of the speeds except the maximum one works, then in 99 cases out of 100, this is exactly the resistor. And only 1 switch, in the control unit.

It is also located on top. But it can be easily removed without dismantling the entire stove. It is enough to remove the connector and unscrew 1 self-tapping resistor. And that's all.

Micromotor reducer

There is no option for disconnecting the radiator from the vehicle cooling system in the Priora climate control system. That is, the hot liquid is constantly circulating in it. The supply of cold air is provided by directing the air flow from the fan using a special damper that blocks the radiator and passes the flow past.

This part is moved by a special device - a micromotor reducer. It is controlled by a control unit. It can also be replaced without completely removing the heater. Although it is located between the vacuum brake booster and the stove body. However, its diagnosis and replacement has features that will be described in a separate topic.

Heater air damper

One of the key devices of the system, despite its simplicity. The damper moves on an axis rotated by a micromotor gearbox. It is located inside the Priora stove. Therefore, for repair or replacement, of course, the stove must be dismantled.

Attention! The first samples of dampers made of plastic needed to be repaired. At present, the Priors are equipped with aluminum dampers. Therefore, there is no need for their repair and replacement.

However, if a Priora with a plastic flap is still available, then the drive protrusion on it may break off. It's pretty easy to define. Turn on the ignition, and after removing the casing separating the niche with the heater from the engine compartment, observe the gearbox by switching the flow temperature control knob from hot to cold. You can see that the drive rod is rotating and the temperature is not changing. This means that the damper needs to be changed. There will be a separate article about this procedure.

Radiator

And the main heating unit is the stove radiator. It is also located on the right side, near the damper actuator. Naturally, to replace it, the Priora stove will have to be removed. It is attached to the body with three self-tapping screws. And after removing the heater, it is already easy to pull it out by unscrewing these screws. Clean the radiator seat and replace with a new one. This part is made of plastic and aluminum and cannot be repaired. Replacement only.

Important! When replacing a radiator, be sure to use a special adhesive sponge, it is glued to the sides and end of the radiator. This is necessary to avoid the formation of cracks from impacts on the stove body.

Determining radiator leakage is quite simple. Although on these heaters the coolant does not enter the passenger compartment when it leaks from the radiator, but when it appears, at any position of the flaps, the evaporation instantly falls on the windshield. They form a well-visible cloudy film with a pungent smell of antifreeze. it a clear signal to replace the stove radiator.

Heater electronic control unit

This is a mini-computer with its own program. Convenience is that it is initially connected to the computer diagnostics channel. Therefore, many malfunctions can be detected precisely by connecting diagnostics to the "Priora" diagnostic connector. But this interesting topic will be covered in a separate article.
