Turn signals do not work on Daewoo Nexia. Why turn signals do not work Turn signals and emergency lights do not work on Nexia

Motorists often face such a problem as a broken turn signal, but not everyone of them knows how to quickly fix the problem. It is very dangerous to continue driving in the event of such a breakdown. Better to stop and try to fix the problem.

Types of problems and methods of elimination

The direction indicator works correctly if the following indicators are observed:

  • the presence of the switched on ignition provides an operating mode;
  • movement of the steering column switch up and down must be accompanied by the inclusion of a turn signal from the corresponding side;
  • the turn warning light should flash at 60 cycles per minute.

Any other behavior of the turn signal indicates a problem. The most common causes of malfunctions are:

Unblinking turn signal. The problem requires familiarity with the basic principle of the relay: the current passing through the lamps leads to the heating of the measuring resistor - an element that determines the need to turn on a particular lamp. Consequently, the resistance of the lamp, which is different from the nominal, changes the turn-on time of the turn signal: it starts blinking. In this situation, it is recommended to lightly knock on the relay (this helps if there is a weak contact or moisture ingress). If you replaced the relay, but the turn signal does not blink, but is on constantly, then there is weak contact with the fuse box. Replacing a fuse with a resistance value that does not correspond to the nominal can also help.

The termination of the operation of one turn signal is incompatible with a malfunction of the relay (malfunctions of such a plan cause a failure in the operation of both turn signals). One of the turn signals may fail due to a burned out light bulb (the simplest option) or a violation of the wiring or cartridge. The new paw should not only fit into the turn signal socket, but also correspond to the power indicated on the plafond. If, after replacing the light bulb, the turn signal does not start working, you need to pay attention to the cartridge. If there are traces of oxidation on it, then they should be removed. Sandpaper or file is good for this. And if the light bulb is too tightly in contact with the contacts, then you need to bend them with thin-nose pliers. This must be done as carefully as possible, avoiding the closure of contacts, which can lead to another problem - the turn signals work in a checkerboard pattern. The normal state of the cartridge means that the cause of the malfunction lies in the wiring. First you need to make sure that the wire is securely connected to the socket. In this case, the closed state of the wires between themselves or the short circuit of the "ground" on the metal body of the car is inadmissible. In this case, it is necessary to replace the wires or at least insulate them.
If at the same time the emergency lights also do not work, then the relay definitely needs to be changed - it is faulty.

Failure in the automatic shutdown can be corrected in only one way - replace the switch. In the event of such a breakdown, it is better to seek help from a specialist.

Also, the switch itself may be the cause of the inoperative turn signal. To check it, you need to get to the steering column switch and unmount it. By the way, if there is a misfortune in the form of a non-turning alarm in the presence of normally working turn signals, you just need to replace the button responsible for turning on the emergency light.

Too often a blinking turn signal is a sure sign that one of the bulbs has burned out, or a chip in the taillight or a track in the mounting block has oxidized.

The dim light of the turn signal is a signal to check the conformity of the model and power. If everything is in order, then cleaning the contacts of the bulbs can correct the situation.

The turn signal relay that emits clicks is also not the norm. The malfunction is fraught with a mounting block, or rather, relay contacts. Sounds like clicking sounds can occur if the contact is oxidized or if it is too tight. A defective relay also leads to this. You can fix the problem by stripping the contacts or installing a new relay.

A direction indicator that does not work on one of the sides, either in front, or behind, or in a repeater, indicates that the steering column switch has broken, there is no contact with it, or that the same relay is out of order.

The turn signal circuitry is protected by an 8 amp fuse located in the mounting block. In the event of a breakdown, the turns on both the left and right sides of the vehicle will stop working.

The light signaling system ensures traffic safety, so the driver should always have at least the required power bulbs with him.

How to diagnose faulty turn signals, see below:

Hello kadabra. The time has come to please you with a new puzzle by the Uzbek means of moving the fifth point of the "daewoo nexia" system.

(under the cut a cool story and a few photos)

The fact is that a few days ago, when the emergency gang or turn signal was turned on, the lights stopped flashing at times. They just went out, and did not start blinking until you turn off and turn on the lever. At first it manifested itself once a day, then once an hour, and yesterday, after the problem began to appear every minute, the machine decided that henceforth I would not need the direction indicators at all and stopped lighting them in principle.

"Why, they say they are for you," - decided Nexia - "turn signals do not suit normal Potsons, let those around them learn to read maneuvers." By the way, the funny thing is that the breakdown occurred on the territory of the unforgettable Kupchino.

Since everything was cut off at once - both the turn signals and the emergency gang - this led me to look for the problem in the fuse and relay box. The fuse turned out to be intact, but with the relay (in the photo it is at the top left) there was an oddity: when you pressed the emergency button or turned on the turn signal, it made one "click" - and that's it. In this case, the bulbs did not light up.

In the turn signal relay block, one of the contacts turned out to be darkened. To be sure, I bent it a little, although the relay was already tight enough into it. This did not solve the problem

It was decided to try to replace the relay, since there was a car market nearby on the street. Salov. But you still need to get there through a few blocks and busy intersections. Traffic rules state that in the absence of direction indicators, it is necessary to notify other road users with the help of hand gestures out the window. However - I thought - not everyone remembers WHAT a hand sticking out the window means according to traffic rules - you never know if they think something is wrong - people are nervous now. Again - Kupchino. Explain then you will be tortured that the middle finger was not raised on the arm sticking out and raised at the elbow (to indicate the right turn).

So I just jumpered contacts 49 and 49a, which break the light circuit, put the relay back in and hit the road. The turn signals can now be used as before, except that they did not blink when turned on, but burn constantly.

At Salov's car market, I am not at all guided and was there for the second time in my life, and time was running out, so I did not find decent stores with auto electronics and used the services of hucksters selling everything from trays - from blue letters to checkpoints with engines in collection. I took my own relay for the sample with me

For some reason, the hucksters did not find completely identical relays. All were with a shorter body. Nevertheless, it was logical to assume that it would work anyway.

However, there is nothing of the kind. After installing a new relay (shortened), the situation has not changed. Everything is the same: we press a button or a turn signal, the relay clicks once - and silence. Only alarmed by the fact that the new relay clicks at all barely audible. He returned the relay, ran to another huckster, took the shortened relay from him again - put it on - all the same again.

Now, attention, a question. Are the long and short versions of the turn signal relay interchangeable? And where in St. Petersburg you can get hold of a good good native Nexievsky relay?
I forgot to take a picture of the short relay article, unfortunately, but it seems to be 07.3747. Item number of the original 495.3747-01.

Nexia Is one of the most common and affordable Daewoo cars. Good dynamic qualities for a car of this class, easy maintenance and a relatively low price for new and used models did their job. Now there are a lot of them on the roads. Nexias are used mainly as taxis, as well as rented and private cars.

The Uzbek assembly of electrical components in many models is not as reliable as one would like. Many devices often fail, in particular, Daewoo Nexiaа fuses and relays, and the contact group at the ignition lock is a "sore spot" in the car.

If an electrical appliance fails, first of all check its fuse. It is not enough to visually inspect it; the gap may not be visible to the eye. It's good if you have a tester on hand. If there is no tester, instead of checking the fuse, you can immediately replace it with a known good one. Therefore, always carry a set of new backup fuses with you. This will save your nerves and time in many cases.

Having found a blown fuse, do not rush to change it. Otherwise, the new fuse may also be damaged. Understand what caused it to burn out. Make sure that there is no short circuit of the circuit it protects, as well as the integrity of all wires. It happens that one of the wires is bent or pinched and begins to close on occasion to the car body.

Always try to bring the work with an electrician to the end, check as many causes of failure as possible, otherwise any short circuit can cause a fire or an accident. If you have a car diagram at hand, use it if you can. If there is no experience in repair and knowledge, it is better to contact a car service to any electrician.

In Daewoo Nexia models before 2008, the mounting block was designated N100, in models after 2008 - N150. The numbering and function of both Daewoo Nexia fuse boxes and relays is the same.

Salon mounting block

The mounting block in the Nexia's cabin is located to the left of the steering wheel in the lower part of the dashboard, under the buttons for opening the trunk and gas tank. To get to it, you need to open the lid. Fuses and relays on it are located on both sides - on the front side facing the driver and on the bottom side facing the pedals. To change the relay and one of the two front fuses on the underside, you may need to remove the entire mounting block or turn it.

Fuses in the passenger compartment mounting block

F1 (10 A) - electronic engine control unit (ECU).

F2 (10 A) - side lights.
If your dimensions do not work, check the light and turn signal switch knob, it could fail or the contacts / wires at its base could be damaged. The price of a new light switch is about 700-1000 rubles. Also check the contacts of this fuse, it happens that they burn out, clean them and achieve good contact of the fuse in the socket. The reason may also be in the M relay and its contacts. It is also possible that the tracks in the mounting block have burned out.

If the fuse blows very often, then there is a short circuit somewhere. Check the connectors in each headlamp, as well as the wires, especially those that go in harnesses along the bottom of the car. They could be transmitted or cut off. A general wiring diagram and connectors at the end of this article. Do not forget to check the side light bulbs themselves, it happens that they all burn out at the same time or one after another.

F3 - reserve.

F4 (20 A) - high beam headlights.
To turn on the high beam, you need to move the left handle under the steering wheel to a position farther from you. To blink, pull on yourself.
If your main beam does not work, check the health of the lamps (both could burn out at once), the health of the L, H relays and their contacts, the contacts in the fuse socket. The steering column switch can also be one of the reasons. If the above is correct, most likely the matter is in the wiring or contacts in the headlight connectors.

F5 (10 A) - low beam, left headlight electrocorrector.
F6 (10 A) - low beam, electric corrector of the right headlight.
If the high beam works, but the low beam does not, most likely the matter is in the steering column light switch, check its contacts and wires, the strength of the connectors. You can remove the switch, carefully disassemble it and check the plates for a short circuit, as well as the plastic switch, whether it reliably opens the contacts. Do not forget to check the health of the lamps in the headlights, even if both dipped headlights do not work, as well as the contacts in the connectors and wires. The reason for the lack of light may be in the contact group of the ignition switch. If you are not versed in electrics, it is better to contact the service.

F7 (30 A) - fuel pump, fuel injectors.

If the fuel pump stops working, check the contacts in the fuse socket, as well as relay C and its contacts. If they are oxidized or there are traces of burning, replace the relay. There may be no contact in the ignition switch or contact group. If there are interruptions in the operation of the fuel pump, the engine starts, then no, most likely a relay, or perhaps the matter is in the fuel filter that needs to be replaced.

At low temperatures and their differences, a condensate evaporator can help, which is poured into the tank along with gasoline. Also, due to low-quality gasoline, the pump itself may fail. You can check by applying a 12 V voltage to it directly, or by connecting a hose lowered into the container instead of the fuel line.

The fuel pump may also not work due to the wiring in the cabin at the bottom left of the driver, near the left front fender. To get to the wires, you need to remove the trim to the left of the clutch pedal. When you see the connector block, check all the wires and connections coming from it. The yellow-brown or white-brown wire is responsible for the operation of the gas pump. Also check that the wires are not interrupted by possible self-tapping screws screwed into the body.

If none of the above helped and an unloading relay is installed in the contact group of the ignition switch, check it and replace it if necessary.

F8 (20 A) - turn signals, alarm, brake lights.
If the direction indicators stop working, first of all check this fuse and relay-breaker A, as well as its contacts. If the turn signals work intermittently, the point is most likely in the same relay A, in the wiring or in a short circuit in the turn signal connectors. If, when the direction indicators are turned on, neither the turn signals nor the control lamps on the dashboard work, most likely the matter is in the steering column switch, its contacts or relay.

If the "emergency" does not work, most likely the matter is also in the relay, in the button itself and its contacts or wiring from the button to the fuse / relay.
Do not forget to also check the turn signal bulbs themselves.

F9 (30 A) - wiper, washer.

If the "wipers" do not work, look at relay F and its contacts. Check whether the gear motor itself is working by applying a voltage of 12 V to it, whether the nuts on the shafts of the wiper holders are tightly tightened, whether the trapezium mechanism is working properly. Check the serviceability of the right steering column switch, contacts and wires in its connector. Another reason for the incorrect operation of the cleaner motor may be poor ground contact. Try to directly connect a wire between the car body and the motor body and check its operation.

If the outside temperature is low, check if the wiper mechanism is frozen, especially the shafts with nuts, if necessary, clean it of ice and moisture.

F10 (10 A) - electric drive of the gas tank cover lock.

F11 (10 A) - air conditioning compressor relay.
In order for the air conditioner to work properly after winter, it is recommended to turn it on from time to time in a warm place (garage, box, car wash) in winter so that the sealing joints are lubricated. Otherwise, they will have to be changed in the spring. At low temperatures, due to lack of pressure, the air conditioner will not turn on.
If the air conditioner stops working, check, in addition to this fuse, also relay J. The system may have run out of freon. You can check by unscrewing the cap on the side of the receiver, located near the battery. By pressing the valve, the freon should hiss out of the hole, which means there is pressure and gas.

If there is no pressure, check the pressure sensor mounted on the tube near the air filter. When the contacts in the two-pin connector of the pressure sensor are closed, the air conditioner must turn on. Fill the system with freon, having previously checked the system for leaks. There may be leaks in connections, pipes and the radiator of the air conditioner.

The matter may also be in the clutch, which, when the air conditioner is turned on, should move (a click will be heard), if it does not work, check its connector, you can also check by applying a voltage of 12 V to it, access to the contacts is only from below, it is most convenient to get from the examination room pits. The compressor may also be faulty or its belt may break, check for the presence of a whole and tensioned lower belt (under the upper alternator belt) in the front of the engine.

If the air from the air conditioning system enters the passenger compartment poorly or not cold enough, check the cabin filter and replace it. The evaporator may also be clogged, check and clean it.

F12 (30 A) - low speed of the radiator cooling fan.
If the fan only runs at high speeds, check this fuse, the contacts in its socket, and relays B and K.

F13 (20 A) - dashboard, clock, cigarette lighter, buzzer, reversing lamps, generator, heated rear window.

F14 (30 A) - sound signal, high speed of the radiator cooling fan.

If the sound signal does not work, check the fuse and contacts in its socket, as well as relay I. If the signal frequency has changed or the signal disappeared altogether, most likely the matter is in the wiring to one of the horns. 2 signals - 2 tones. Check the contacts and wires at the horns by removing the radiator grill, they usually rot due to moisture. Also check the steering column contact of the horn button and its mechanism.

If at high temperatures the radiator fan stops turning on, check the serviceability of relays B, E, K and their contacts. Check the fan sensor, disconnect the contacts from it and close them, the fan should turn on. Or apply 12 V voltage directly to the fan connector, thereby checking the serviceability of its electric motor, check this connector for connecting wires to the fan for oxidation of the contacts.

If the fan motor is running, it could be a fuse and relay, wiring, thermostat, and coolant temperature sensor. If you check the wiring, from the temperature sensor to the ECU, from the ECU to the relay.

F15 (20 A) - light in the cabin, light in the trunk, electric antenna.
If the light in the plafond near the rear-view mirror does not work only in the "Auto" position, check the limit switches in the doors and wiring, as well as the light mode switch itself. The wiring from the limit switches is harnessed in the driver's door sill or under the driver's seat, check the integrity of all wires.

If the light does not work in any of the modes, check the serviceability of the lamp and the switch in the plafond.
If the trunk light does not work, check the lamp on the left side of the trunk, the light contacts and the wiring.

F16 (30 A) - power windows.

If your windows stopped working, most likely the matter is in the wiring. Check the wires going to the doors to see if they are broken at the folds (in the corrugated rubber bands), a standard disease of many Nexia models. Also check the performance of the motors by applying a voltage of 12 V to them and the condition of the brushes in them. If one window regulator does not work, the matter may also be in the door wiring or in the window regulator control button, check its contacts and serviceability.

Also check the mechanism itself in the door for defects and jamming, the condition of the gear and cable. The reason may be in the driver's power window control unit. Check it for a short circuit.
If the glass begins to warp, due to which the window regulator cannot cope with it, try to completely lower the glass and lubricate the sealing rubber strips with WD-40 liquid or silicone.

F17 (10 A) - power supply of the radio from the ignition switch.

Usually the radio is connected in such a way that it only works when the ignition is on. If you want the radio tape recorder to work constantly, find the place of its connection in the contact group of the ignition switch and connect it to a constant 12 V power supply through a fuse. If the radio tape recorder stops working, check the ignition switch, the contacts in it, the contact group and the wiring.

F18 (30 A) - power supply of the radio from the battery, heated rear window, electric trunk lock, central locking.

Heated rear window in Nexia is automatically turned off. If it does not work for you, check this fuse, F13 and contacts in their sockets, as well as relay G and its contacts. The heating timer relay can be installed not in the mounting block, but under the dashboard, just above the pedal unit. Also check the button itself and its contacts. The reason may be in the wiring from the button to the rear window, it could be transmitted to the bottom of the car. Check the terminals of the heating elements of the rear pillars along the edges of the glass and the absence of broken threads on the glass. If you find a break, glue it with a special glue containing metal.

If the central locking does not work and some door does not close, remove the trim from it and check the correct operation of the lock drive and the serviceability of the traction. If the lock is 5-pin, check the health of all its contacts and wiring. Also check the wires in the corrugation at the fold when opening the door. The case may also be in the central locking relay, which is located behind the electronic control unit (ECU), on the passenger side of the center console.

F19 - reserve.

F20 (30 A) - air conditioner fan.

F21 (30 A) - fog lights.
If the “fog lights” have stopped burning, check the fuse, the contacts of its socket, the serviceability of the lamps in the headlights, the power button in the passenger compartment, the wiring, relay D and its contacts.

Direction indicators on a Daewoo Nexia passenger car, like on other vehicles, play an important role in traffic safety. After all, if they do not work, then the implementation of various maneuvers on the carriageway will be unexpected for other road users. Of course, focusing on the Rules of the Road, you can give signals about turns with your hand, but will all our drivers understand them, since even in driving schools on training cars these actions are not practiced.

The electrical circuit of Daewoo Nexia direction indicators includes: lamps on the right and left side of the car; a relay that also works for an alarm; Understeering's shifter; twenty amp fuse F8 and wires connecting these devices.

Most often, in this electrical circuit on a Daewoo Nexia car, the three output relay of the direction indicators fails, which is marked as follows: 96312545U. The indicator lamp on the instrument panel will warn you that it is out of order, and its clicking will not be heard, since it is located in the passenger compartment in the mounting block (upper left side) located on the front panel in the area where your left knee.

In this case, the direction indicator lamps will simply burn without blinking. Usually, the relay, before finally failing, begins to work with arrhythmia, it turns on for a couple of seconds, then turns off and the driver has to several times during the maneuver, move under the steering switch to the neutral position, and then turn on the direction indicators.

Once this arrhythmia has begun, the relay must be replaced. A regular relay is quite expensive, a similar relay from BOSCH is even more expensive, therefore, for those drivers who are tight with money, it is advisable to purchase a relay manufactured by the Korean company POMAX, it is more than two times cheaper than a regular one. You can also try to supply a three-output relay from the domestic "eight", in which the landing dimensions are also the same as the standard relay.

If the yellow fuse F8 (20A), which is the second from the left in the middle row of the mounting block, blows out, not only the turn signal lamps, but also the stop lamps will not light up. And this means that when braking, there will be nothing to warn drivers behind moving vehicles. If you have an anti-lock braking system (ABS) installed on your Daewoo Nexia car, it will not work either. This is due to the fact that they all receive power through fuse F8.
