In 1974, we (more precisely, our mother 🙂 bought a Skif trailer for the Zhiguli. There was such a trailer, which was a transportable tent house on wheels. In 1974 it cost 1250 rubles (we bought it on August 28, and from September 1 began to cost already 2100r. while the VAZ-2101 then cost 5500r.) Then it was noticeable money.

The Scythian was a two-wheeled trailer, when the lid was folded back, a tent was obtained, but not standing on the ground, but located at a height of almost a meter from the ground.

There were three berths on the lid, and in the trailer itself it was possible to make two berths for children (the width of the trailer was 1.6 m, so little graceful girls could also fit there 🙂

On its lid it was convenient to make a table and have a quick snack. Furniture (table and chairs) and bedding were located in the trailer. But often I just carried these tables and chairs in the trunk of my car so that I could get it all faster.

In addition, Skif had a set of aluminum racks and a tent that could be placed next to the trailer and get a so-called veranda.

A more modern version of the device, the Skif M2 tent trailer, was also equipped with a set of aluminum poles and a tent, which was installed next to the main module and could be used as a veranda.

Careful quality control not only during painting, but also in the stages preceding them, such as sandblasting, removing body irregularities, applying soil, allows you to achieve brilliant results.

In the process of rebuilding, the tires that had lost their operational properties were replaced with similar ones, the wheel caps acquired their original appearance, all the electrical wiring was also replaced, the suspension elements were moved, the hub bearings were replaced, and restored taillights and reflectors, the awning of the tents was re-treated with a water-repellent compound.

After carrying out all the above works, the customer highly appreciated the professionalism and creative approach of the employees of our design bureau and expressed hope for further cooperation in the field of restoration of domestic retro technology and automobiles and its preparation for celebrations.
