I decided, with the arrival of heat and a filter, to change the oil in the vario!
I took Idemitsu CVT Type N oil, read that it was in NS-2 cans. I took 8 bottles of 1 liter each with a price of 640 per liter.

I ordered a fine filter, I waited for it the longest - almost a month ... thanks to Emex that the filter was lying around in our city for a week ...



We need to replace: A knob and a ratchet A small extension (unscrewing the pan bolts) Head for 19 (unscrew the drain bolt) Head for 10 (unscrew the bolts of the pan and the coarse filter) Hexagon for 6 (unscrew the fine filter) So, let's start: Raise the machine and put on reliable stops Remove the plastic protection, it prevents us from unscrewing the front pallet bolts.

We take a bowl or bottle of at least 5 liters, unscrew the bolt by 19 and drain about 5 liters of oil



After that, unscrew the bolts of the pallet, carefully hold it, because there is still about a liter of oil

Then remove the coarse filter. ATTENTION! One bolt is shorter than the others, located in the corner and secures the wire plate

There is still a small amount of oil in both filters.Take the coarse filter and sump and go to clean





It is best to clean with a carbcliner, it will clean well under the pressure of the jet. I ran out of it at the very beginning, because everything went to clean the remote control. I had to clean it with gasoline. We remove the magnets and clean them too. It remained unclear to me that there are several pieces of black wires in this block, which are simply dangling in pieces ... for what purpose? maybe who knows?

I still had to long and tediously peel off the old black sealant from the pallet, bolts and variator housing - an indicator that someone had already thrust their unprofessional snout into the variator.
After that we put the magnets in place.
We take a new fine filter and put it in place
We fasten the coarse filter

We check all the bolts very carefully! So that there are no unnecessary parts, dirt, lint, etc.

We put a new gasket on the pallet

We put back the pallet with the gasket, having previously screwed the drain plug. We stretch the bolts cross to cross.

After that, we start the engine, bring it to working temperature, we drive the gear selector back and forth, go out and check the fluid level.
We check for a warm, running engine, with the selector in position P!

If there were no more problems, then on this I congratulate. For me, everything did not go so easily, as I already said - someone thrust their stigma into the variator ...

Oil in the variator on the Nissan Tiida is poured into the box at the factory. Without special tools it is extremely difficult to replace the oil fluid in the variator. Therefore, before the process, it is recommended to acquire the necessary tools, materials and skills.

When is a partial and complete oil change in the Nissan Tiida CVT required?

Partial oil change in the variator means only draining fluid from drain hole... The liquid inside the radiator, shafts and coupling will remain at the same level. Partial replacement of the car oil in the variator is carried out every 30-40 thousand kilometers.

Complete replacement of the car oil in the variator involves not only draining the fluid from the drain hole. Includes sump flushing, cleaning and replacing the entire fluid. Such a replacement is required every 60-80 thousand kilometers.

What kind of oil to fill?

It is recommended to fill in the Nissan Tiida variator original oil Nissan CVT NS3... The required volume of liquid is 7 liters. If the owner of the car decided to change the fluid partially, then about 4 liters will be required. Additionally, you should change the fine filter.

The available option on the first generation Nissan Tiida is the original transmission fluid Nissan CVT NS-2. For partial replacement the variator of this machine requires 2.8 liters of oil, and for complete replacement - 5-6 liters of motor oil. Replace the clean filter element and rinse the other one.

Oil change process

Before you start changing the oil in the variator, you should prepare for work. There are two filters in the Nissan Tiida variator: fine and coarse filters. Fine cleaning is bound to change, since it is composed of paper material. The coarse filter can be changed or washed. Therefore, one or two filters should be purchased prior to replacement.

Additionally prepared necessary tools and materials:

  • A set of wrenches and hex keys;
  • Screwdriver;
  • Pliers;
  • Jack;
  • Syringe or flexible tube neck;
  • Waste fluid container;
  • Clean rags;
  • Fresh oil.

Step by step instructions on how to properly drain the oil:

  1. Put vehicle on a flat surface.
  2. Unscrew engine protection (if equipped). Pliers, screwdriver and wrenches are used.
  3. Unscrew the plug in the pallet. The amount of liquid that will drain into a canister or other container for waste liquid is 4-5 liters.
  4. Screw the drain plug back on. Replace the rubber washer if necessary.

  1. After drain plug screwed up, it is necessary to pour oil through the dipstick. Use a syringe or funnel with a hose.
  2. Fill in about 6 liters, then check the level.
  3. Set the dipstick to its original position.

Starting the engine after changing the oil

The engine is started for the first time immediately after changing the oil. This requires the selector to be in neutral. Warm up the engine, and then view the oil level (above the set mark).

After warming up the oil and checking the variator, carry out a test drive on the car for 10-15 kilometers. Then go back to the garage and check the fluid level again. If necessary, top up to the mark. The car oil level should be between the lower and upper marks (preferably as close to the upper as possible).

To change the oil in the variator, you need a little:

First of all, you need the oil itself, for my CVT it is NS-2. I took two cans of 4 liters each, there was one incomplete can left, because consumed approximately 5.2 liters. In addition, you needed a container to drain the used oil, a stationery knife, a 19 wrench, a plastic bottle with a hose (1 cm diameter), gloves and electrical tape.

who does not know - there is a latch on the probe on the side of the handle, you need to press it with something similar to a screwdriver, I press it with the key from the office :) Then we take this:

After the first turn of the plug, you can unscrew it with your fingers, substituting a container for receiving oil from below. I had two of them :)

Who does not know - the oil is hot and, as you can see, it is already very dark. In order not to bother with the volume of new oil poured in, we make marks on the containers with used oil. I scribbled a mark on the bottles with a clerical knife. If you want the marks to be clearly visible in the photographs, take white gouache with you :) We carefully pour the used oil into a 6 liter jar and later take it to comrades who have a boiler working on mining. At the bottom we find this:

do not forget to pay attention to the presence of a sealing washer on this. If everything is in place, we screw it back where it was, we tighten it without fanaticism.

Pour new oil into empty containers for used oil, exactly at the mark. You can't see it here, but the oil is green like Tarragon, but you can't drink it.

After all the oil is poured into the variator, the most difficult thing remains - we remove the pribluda with the hose, insert the dipstick into place, close the hood, collect empty cans in a bag, tie the bag into two knots and put it in the trunk - this is a gift to the nearest garbage can. Then for another hour we wipe the dust with a cloth engine compartment and we get satisfaction from the work done, it looks like this:

Then we drive along the highway for 10 km, indulge in the SPORT button, do not listen to music, listen to the engine. We stop, drive the gearbox lever in all positions, leave it in the "P" mode, don't jam the car, get out, take out the dipstick and check the oil level in the variator. We are convinced that everything is fine, we sit in the car, drive further home to have dinner, listen to music on the way and plan in a couple of weeks.
