All about buying and selling cars

How saw cuts. What is auto sawing? Sawing machines - what is it, where they come from, how much they cost and where can you buy

Today, not every car enthusiast has the opportunity to purchase a good vending vehicle in some car dealership. For this reason, many car owners or potential buyers are looking for economical options. Increasingly, they are forced to seek services secondary market... And here, as you know, you can buy a pig in a poke. In addition, recently you can find various concepts that only experienced drivers and many sellers. Beginners do not even know what auto-sawing is.

There are also other not entirely clear definitions. Many of these vehicles come to our country from abroad and mainly from Japan. The words themselves can and can say what kind of car this is, but it is worthwhile to understand in more detail such terms. This will allow you to identify some advantages for yourself, although there are also disadvantages. But first things first.

Sawing cars

Here we mean a partial disassembly of a car, and both the body and the frame itself are also sawn. Due to this, the cost of the duty for import into Russia is significantly reduced. At the same time, the price of the foreign car itself also drops significantly, since it can hardly be called a vehicle.

In most cases, cars that have been damaged in an accident and received serious damage... Then they are resold. And as a result of this procedure, you can hide the defect.

What is auto-sawing? As a rule, this procedure involves the separation vehicle into three parts, but practically nothing is removed from the car. The total cost is much lower than that of designers and carpils, which will be discussed below.

Features of auto carpil

In this case, the car is partially disassembled:

  • The main nodes are removed:
    • Engine.
    • Transmission.
  • Disassembly in progress:
    • Body.
    • Salon.

In addition, the front part is also cut off, and this is done very carefully. And there is one plus in relation to the carp before cutting. After the procedure, the rigidity of the body remains practically the same. For this reason, the total cost of such vehicles is higher than that of sawn machines.

Despite the relatively high price, it is worth stopping your choice on this particular option. After careful cutting it is impossible to find traces of mechanical impact on the body. In addition, such transport retains presentable view, unlike a car cut from Japan. What it is is now a little clearer.

The whole procedure of both sawing and carp sawing with subsequent assembly is performed only by professionals in their field. For this reason, it is impossible to identify such machines without special knowledge and tools (for example, a thickness gauge).

Cutting points are additionally reinforced with metal sheets. This will avoid breaking the body during an accident during the operation of the vehicle.

What are constructors?

Now it's time for a very interesting kind of aftermarket car. This is a kind of lego for adults - a car or several vehicles are completely disassembled. After that, all these parts are imported, for example, to our country. This is no longer a cut of a car from Japan (what it is is already known), and, as a rule, such an import is issued as scrap metal.

This allows you to significantly reduce the size of the state duty on import into the country. The main feature of the constructor, as you can probably guess (and its advantage) is only in the disassembly process. That is, there is no cutting of the car body. And this is already preferable.

In most cases, these vehicles serve as donors for other vehicles. Usually, these are the machines that have an unsatisfactory technical condition due to an accident, normal wear and tear and for a number of other reasons.

Then, the necessary parts, assemblies or assemblies are dismantled from the donor and put on the vehicle to be repaired. Tellingly, most of the components are usually in excellent technical condition... As a result, the car becomes practically new and then it can be sold more profitably if desired.

Prerequisites for the emergence of automotive terms

Anyone who is interested in what it means to cut a car may wonder: what was the reason for the formation of such schemes for the import of cars? And not all of them are legal. And the whole point is to increase the state duty on the import of vehicles from abroad, which since 2009 has been 343,000 rubles. (5,000 euros) or even more.

Now it is simply unprofitable to bring a car with a power unit volume of 2.0 liters or more, and its age exceeds 5 years. Therefore, most of the cars imported from abroad were previously disassembled and delivered as scrap metal to their destination. This made it possible to save money on tax payments.

And such concepts as "carp" and "cut" appeared not so long ago. And just after the increase in the duty, sawing became widespread. But there is one caveat - it is very difficult to cut japanese cars arrange as a full-fledged vehicle. Such a car is beneficial only as a donor.

Possible consequences

Many motorists are afraid to give their hard-earned money for sawing, carp or constructor. And this is partly understandable. Nevertheless, there is always a buyer for sawn or disassembled vehicles.

But here it is worth knowing that if someone deliberately goes to such a purchase, then they will have to face possible consequences... It is one thing if such a car is purchased as a donor, when it is necessary to restore the performance of your vehicle. And such an update will only benefit him.

But the situation is completely different if a designer or any other similar machine is taken for different purposes, for example, resale. As an illustrative example, the photo of the car cut below will serve.

It is unlikely that such a deal can be formalized in a legal way. In addition, the future owner is at great risk, and this already looks like a crime.

Difficult choice

If there is a need to take a chance, then it is necessary to take into account all the features of the future operation of the vehicle. To take individual parts, units and assemblies, sawn machines are quite suitable.

In this case, there is no reason for concern, as well as the risk itself, here. All components can still serve for a long time. However, for personal use the best purchase there will be a carp or constructor type auto. Moreover, the latter option is more preferable.

How not to fall into the trap

If such "emergency" cars are purchased for personal use, this is one thing. But it is completely different when a saw or carp is sold under the guise of a used one, but as a solid vehicle. Nobody will give guarantees that he will have legal documents.

It is not enough to understand what auto-sawing is, you need to know, and what the acquisition of such a transport can turn into. God forbid, the owner comes across such a car, then he seriously risks. And the case may not only end in penalties. The fact is that the sawn body will never regain its former rigidity. Welds can break apart on impact in an accident. The car is literally torn to pieces, which leaves no chance for survival for either the passengers or the driver himself.

For this reason, sawn vehicles are popularly referred to as "coffins on wheels." Therefore, in order not to become a victim of deception, it is necessary to be vigilant, in which some helpful recommendations can help.

The sawn machines do not have a TCP because it is impossible to register them. But if the fact of driving such a car is discovered, then the driver cannot avoid a fine. Moreover, he may be deprived of driving license, and the vehicle will be sent to the impound.

How to determine the cut of a car? The following tips will help you:

  • Before buying any car, you should check the body and engine number (if any) at the traffic police.
  • It is worth using the help of an experienced person whose activities are related to the purchase of cars. He must know exactly all the features of cuts, constructors and carpils.
  • Assess the condition of the paintwork. Pay particular attention to the hinges, sills, hood and trunk. It is these places that can give out a recently made assembly.
  • Should alert the new state of door seals in a used car. Perhaps they cover sawing marks and other defects.
  • Usually, for designers, both windows (front and rear) are removed for transportation. It will not be difficult to detect their poor-quality installation. It is also worth checking all the glass numbers and if they do not match, this car should not be taken.
  • When inspecting cars, it makes sense to use a thickness gauge. But if the owner resists this, there is reason to be wary. Most problem areas - this is usually the area of \u200b\u200bthe struts, front, rear of the body. Here you can find traces of seams that are expertly polished by professionals. However, there will be a thicker layer that the instrument can easily detect.

All these recommendations will help you not only figure out what auto-sawing is, but also help you avoid a dangerous purchase. Well, and the most important thing that should be alarming is the disproportionately low cost of a low-mileage vehicle.

Of course, there are risks when buying any car. Sawed cars, however, pose a serious hazard that can lead to fatal accidents for everyone inside. It is very difficult to survive when vehicles are falling apart on the move or with an impressive impact.

Finally

To buy saw cuts, carpils, constructors or not is the prerogative of every motorist. This decision must be made consciously. Indeed, if such a car is purchased purely for personal purposes, for example, the restoration of your iron horse, then this step is justified.

But in the case of its further resale for personal use by other people, there may be different consequences. And usually they are not the most rosy, because this can already fall under criminal liability.

Perhaps many reviews on auto-saws, carpils, designers, of which there are many on the Internet, will be able to dissuade many motorists from purchasing problem vehicles. This is the only way to protect yourself and your loved ones. But at the same time, you should not endanger other people.

Each of you has probably heard about construction machines, sawing machines, "Lego", etc., which come to us from abroad. However, it is one thing to hear and quite another to know what is a sawing machine or constructor. Some people misunderstand these terms, as a result of which they make rash purchases. In order to clarify this whole "kitchen", I decided to understand all this and write about all these terms, as they say, in "human language".

What is a sawing machine?

This term means partial disassembly of the car, including sawing the body for transportation to Russia from abroad, in order to reduce the cost of the vehicle. The import of foreign cars in this way allows you to significantly reduce the cost of a car, which, in fact, is not, therefore, about 200 sput can be saved on the import and payment of the state duty.

In some cases, a car is cut in order to hide the traces of an accident of expensive foreign cars after an accident or other disasters that resulted in damage to certain parts of the body. When cutting, as a rule, nothing is removed, except that in the places of the cut, the wheels, the engine and even the interior remain intact. It is cheaper to buy a cut than buy carpilor constructor.

What is carpil?

Karpil provides for the import of a car in a partially disassembled state, that is, bumpers, fenders, doors are dismantled, in general, everything that can be removed, everything is taken out of the passenger compartment and the engine and transmission are dismantled. In addition, the front of the vehicle, the so-called "TV", is cut off. The difference between a saw cut and a carp saw is that when a carp is used, the strength and rigidity of the body does not suffer as when sawing, which involves sawing the body almost in half. Carpil is difficult to see, it is almost impossible to do without disassembling the car. After the carp, there are no visible seams and traces of disassembly on the body. Carp price higher compared to sawing, so if you need a car for parts it is better to choose the second option.

Dismantling and assembly of carpils and cuts is carried out by professionals, therefore, after assembly, it is very difficult to find the place where the car was sawed, although it is possible, for example, having such a device as a thickness gauge. So that during the operation of the sawing machine there are no troubles or in the event of an accident it does not break into pieces, the sawing points are welded not only to each other, but also strengthened with additional layers of metal, which adds rigidity to the body.

What is a construction set or a construction machine?

A construction machine is one of the subspecies of this business, and it provides for the complete disassembly of a car or several cars for parts, after which parts from this car (s) are imported into the country as spare parts or scrap metal, and not a vehicle. As a result, significant savings in state fees. The body is not cut in the case of import of a construction vehicle. Buying a designer car is often preferred by those who have a legal car with documents, but in poor technical condition (after an accident, old age, etc.). As a result, from the donor car, for example, 2005, it can only be removed and installed on your car of the same model in 2000. power unit, transmission and attachments... In the end, you get practically.

The impetus for the emergence of all these, not entirely legal schemes, was the increase in duties in 2009 on the import of cars. As a result, the import of cars over 5 years old and with an engine capacity of 2.0 liters or more has become extremely unprofitable. To "get away" from the need to pay a large customs tax, cars began to be disassembled and imported as spare parts or scrap metal. Car sawing and carpil appeared in this business relatively recently. Sawing began to gain popularity after in 2008 the state introduced a customs duty of at least 5,000 euros for 1 body of the first complete set. It was then that one of the clever Russian "Kulibins" had the idea that importing a car for spare parts would be much cheaper and more profitable, given that the duty on sawing is less than 10 times approximately. The only problem with sawing is that the sawn body is a spare part, which after import is very difficult, and sometimes impossible to issue. Therefore, a sawn car is profitable only if you buy it for repair purposes. If you are going to drive it on public roads, you will have to pay a toll or break the law every time and risk your own "skin" for such an imaginary benefit. Remember - driving on "leftists", that is, on a car without documents, is a crime that is punishable by law!

How not to buy a sawing machine or a construction machine for the price of a whole car?

As you understand buy saw cut or order carp from Japan for yourself, for some specific purposes, realizing the complexity of this procedure - this is one thing, and completely different - to buy a car for a lot of money and at the same time get to the designer or the same cut with "fake" documents, or a broken, embedded VIN- number ... In order not to be deceived or, as they say now, "thrown", you must be extremely careful and check the car "in full" when buying.

What to check where to look?

  • Punch the VIN-number of the body and the engine number according to the traffic police database.
  • Check weld spots with a thickness gauge "gun". True, if the car is expensive and it was sawn and assembled by professionals, then during assembly the seams could be welded with inside, that is, in the salon, so to get to them you will need to remove the trim, and this is already a problem. It is unlikely that the seller will agree to do this ...
  • Take with you an experienced person "reseller" who knows all these secrets and can easily determine whether it is cut or a designer, or vice versa - a full-fledged car with "clean documents".
  • Take a closer look at the door seals and glass. If the seals look suspiciously new, they may have changed recently, and this is already a reason to think. , as well as the rear window in case of transporting the constructor across the border, are removed, so you should take a closer look, perhaps the insert was of poor quality, and you will find a catch. Also, check the glass numbers, they must match, if there are differences, and the seller surprisingly does not know anything or does not know anything - refuse to buy such a car.
  • Pay attention to the general, look under the hood, and at the door hinges, make sure there are no traces of recent assembly or painting.

Let's sum up

Should I buy a saw cut, a carp, a constructor? It is worth it if you buy such a car deliberately and understand what you are doing. I mean your goal buy car-saw in order to take the necessary parts from there and update (restore) your car in this way. If you are going buy constructor for further manipulations with documents, for the subsequent sale of such a car or its independent operation - I strongly do not recommend that you do this. Why? Because it's illegal! Selling such a car in an honest way will not work, as well as driving it yourself ... So one way or another you will have to break the law. Now give yourself an answer to the question: "Do I need such problems?" I think the answer is obvious - "No!"

In addition, you must understand that cutting, unlike a carp and a designer, is also a mortal danger in the event of an accident. If the saw-cut machine was cut, then one way or another the strength of the body was broken, therefore, most likely, during an accident with a side impact, the car will simply fall into two parts. Passengers have almost zero chances to survive in such an accident.

That's all for me. Now you know, what is cut, what is a carp and how do they differ from a construction machine. Thank you for your attention and see you again at Question Auto.

P.S. If you missed something or made a mistake where, you can correct me using the comment form. Take care of yourself!

For inexperienced car enthusiasts, determining whether a car has been cut or not is a rather difficult task.

Most car owners have heard of such unusual terms as "constructor", "cut", "Lego machine", which are applied to transport equipment... Such cars come to our country from abroad. But, hear, that's one thing. Another thing is to familiarize yourself in detail with such vehicles in order to further protect yourself from a rash and dangerous purchase. Let's figure it out.

Characteristics of the term "car-saw"

Under this concept, a partial disassembly of a vehicle is hidden, while its body and frame are also partially sawn. Thanks to this, the cost of importing cars to our country is significantly reduced. The cost of the foreign car itself is also significantly reduced, which after the procedure of cutting the body is no longer a vehicle.

It should be noted that the car was cut for the purpose of its subsequent sale in many cases in order to hide serious damage to the body in the event of an accident. During this procedure, the body is partially sawn, often into three parts, and practically nothing is removed from the car. The cost of cutting is much cheaper than the cost of a constructor, or a carp.

What is carpil auto?

This term characterizes the import of a partially disassembled vehicle, that is, the main components (power unit and transmission) are removed from the car, its body and interior are disassembled. In addition, the front of the machine is neatly cut.

notice, that carp is more gentle than sawing, since after its implementation, the rigidity of the body practically does not suffer. It is impossible to find out that the car has undergone the carp procedure without its complete disassembly. The cost of such a vehicle is much higher than the cost of a sawn one. Therefore, it is better to stop your choice on it. After the procedure, it is difficult to find traces of mechanical stress (sawing) on \u200b\u200bthe car body, and such vehicles look quite presentable.

The procedures for sawing, carp sawing and the subsequent assembly of cars after them are performed by professionals, therefore, without special knowledge and the presence of certain devices (for example, a thickness gauge), it is unrealistic to determine the car that was brought into our country in this way. To protect the vehicle during its operation and to prevent the body from breaking into pieces in the event of an accident, the body is additionally reinforced with metal sheets at the cutting points.

Constructor car: what is it?

This term describes the complete disassembly of one or more vehicles, after which all their parts and components are imported into the country, for example, under the guise of scrap metal. This allows you to significantly save on paying the state duty when importing a construction vehicle into the country. A feature of the designer is that when performing this procedure, cutting the car body is completely excluded.

Such vehicles are common as donors for car owners whose cars are in poor technical condition due to an accident, old age or other reasons. In this case, the necessary units, assemblies and parts are dismantled from the designer, most of which are in perfect condition and installed on the car being repaired. In fact, a practically new vehicle is obtained, while it is possible to save half the cost of all spare parts.

When and why did it all appear?

The prerequisite for the emergence of all these semi-legal schemes for the import of vehicles into our country was the increase in the state duty on the import of cars at the end of 2009. As a result, it has become extremely unprofitable to import automotive equipment, the volume of the power unit of which starts from 2.0 liters, and the age is more than five years. To circumvent this innovation and save on tax payments, most vehicles were disassembled and imported into the country as scrap metal. Note that such concepts as "carp" and "cut" of automotive technology appeared relatively recently. Moreover, they began to massively saw cars transported from abroad after the increase in duty, so the idea arose to reduce the cost of importing vehicles into the territory of our country.

The main disadvantage of sawing is that after this procedure, it is quite problematic or simply unrealistic to arrange the sawn body parts as a single structure. Such a machine is beneficial only for purchasing it for parts.

How to protect yourself and not buy a sawn car or a construction kit for the price of a whole vehicle?

It is one thing to order a carp or a saw for certain purposes, but it is quite another to become a victim of a deception and purchase such a vehicle in a restored state on the go. There is no guarantee that a construction vehicle or a cut will have real documents, and not fake ones. In order not to get on such a vehicle, you should completely check the car before buying.

Here are some tips:

  1. It is imperative to check the numbers of the body and the power unit (if the engine has a number) in the traffic police database.
  2. When inspecting the car, do not hesitate to use the thickness gauge and examine with its device the places that are in doubt (for example, visible welds). Often, the assembly of such machines is carried out by professionals who skillfully mask the welding places of the body elements. They are always located in its inner side, therefore, in order to inspect them, it will be necessary to remove the casing. It's not hard to guess that most sellers simply won't let you do this.
  3. Seek help from an experienced person who buys cars, knows all the features and nuances of designers, carpils and cuts.
  4. Pay attention to the condition of the door seals and inspect all glass in the vehicle. If there are new sealing elements on a used car, then something is wrong here, and, most likely, the vehicle was disassembled. We turn to the inspection of the glasses. It should be noted here that when transporting the designer, the frontal and rear glass removed from the car. Their poor-quality installation immediately catches the eye. Additionally, all the numbers on the windows should be checked, if they do not match, it is best to refuse to purchase such a vehicle.
  5. Assessing the condition paintwork... We inspect the hinges, sills, hood and trunk. In such places, traces of recent assembly are most often found.

What do we end up with?

What can you say about buying a constructor, saw cut or carp saw? It is definitely worth purchasing such a car if its purchase is fully justified, for example, the use of parts and assemblies to restore your vehicle. If you buy a car imported under a similar scheme for its subsequent operation or resale, it is best to abandon this idea. Why? Because such schemes cannot be called legal, since such a car is honestly sold, as well as it is unlikely to be able to operate it. In any case, you have to take the risk and break the law. It is clear that a sane person does not need extra problems.

It should be understood that sawing is an increased hazard in the event of a road accident, as such a vehicle would simply fall apart.

Reading time: 5 minutes

Having decided to buy a vehicle with the replacement of numbered units, you probably first ask yourself how to register a construction vehicle in 2020. What are the features in the design of such cars in the traffic police and what are the pros and cons of a car constructor in comparison with a saw cut or a car imported at full duty? We will discuss these and some other issues in this article.

What is a construction machine

A constructor car is the result of a lot of running operations to obtain ownership of a new car, most often, under the documents of the old one. The purpose of this rather complex event is for foreign cars imported into the territory of our country. Let's analyze this scheme in more detail.

Entrepreneurs who lost a profitable import and sale business foreign cars in Russia, due to the sharp rise, they asked themselves whether it is possible to somehow use the fact that the duty is tied to the volume of the car's engine. Indeed, when customs clearance of most goods passing the border of the Russian Federation, the duty is taken on the value of the goods, and complex duties have been introduced only for a small list of goods. Against this background, the import of a whole car for spare parts is much cheaper than an entire car as a vehicle. Based on these prerequisites, a scheme for the import of a car by a designer was born.

The sequence of actions is as follows: a car is bought abroad, and in the parking lot, and sometimes even on the ship during the delivery process, it is disassembled: exhaust system and, if it is a frame machine,. It is not difficult to determine what exactly needs to be removed - it is necessary that the numbered units be dismantled, that is, the internal combustion engine, frame, body separately.

When crossing the border of the Russian Federation, these 2 (body and engine) or 3 (body, engine, frame) objects are declared to different recipients and are issued according to different shipping documents.

The total costs of disassembly, customs clearance, storage, and the use of several participants in foreign economic activity for import are from 10 to 30% of the duty that the owner would pay for the whole car.

After the safe import of foreign parts, an old car that has run off its own or just been in an accident and cannot be restored is found in Russia, and the already assembled, just imported car is drawn up under its documents. It is drawn up as if the numbered units were replaced on the old car.

Naturally, changes in the design of the vehicle are necessary, which can be done if documents for these units are available.

According to the documents, you will still have the same old or wrecked car with replaced units, in fact, you will drive new car... Even taking into account the costs of buying an old or wrecked car with documents, the net savings are rarely below 50%.

Take a sociological survey!

Advantages and disadvantages of the construction machine

The advantages of huge savings in customs payments for the purchaser of the designer are obvious. However, there are many disadvantages to this scheme:

  • The confrontation between enterprising Russians and a state that does not want competition from the foreign car industry in russian market, continued: since 2011, customs duties were introduced separately for the car body in the amount of 5,000 euros, and now the customs clearance of the designer has ceased to be such a fantastically profitable business.

Therefore, one of the disadvantages of importing a designer was the need to accurately calculate whether this event would be profitable for you, taking into account all costs.

  • Another disadvantage is the assembly and disassembly of the machine. In a hurry, a disassembled car during the assembly process often loses in the quality of the combination of units, many electronic contacts, which can be connected to the wrong place or inaccurately. It is not uncommon for designers to find non-working secondary units, temperature sensors or tachometers.
  • Importing a designer is also complicated by the need to find documents suitable for your car, but this drawback is solved by custom import, that is, documents are found first, and a designer is already transported for them.
  • As already mentioned above, the duty on the body greatly diminished the bright prospects of the designers, and in connection with this, until then, little popular cuts appeared on the scene. This in itself is a very dangerous unit; there are many cases when a car fell into two halves directly during movement or as a result of a slight side impact. The possibility that you will be cut is number one on the list of dangers when buying a construction kit.

One of the main problems of such cars is called. So is it possible to construct a car?

Since 2012, the State Traffic Inspectorate has received an order banning the simultaneous replacement of the license plate units of the car, since this is a hidden form of registration of a new car. This was perceived as a complete ban on the registration of "constructors". But the question in the order was to prohibit the registration of the simultaneous replacement of units, and not already issued in a legal way "constructors".

That is, bringing in new constructors and registering them has become much more complicated.

Regarding pre-entry constructors Technical regulations Of the Customs Union (hereinafter - the CU TR), their registration () is complicated by the following rules: vehicles whose design changes do not comply with the Road Safety Rules are not subject to registration.

You can find out in more detail the reasons for refusal to register in the material "".

Design features

We figured out the designer itself, its shortcomings and positive aspects. Now let's ask ourselves a question: if an auto-constructor, then how to re-register it to a new owner and what features this procedure differs in.

The traffic police have no legal reason not to register the "designer" imported and executed in accordance with all the rules. But they are in the setting for registration of such machines, referring to the above order. So you need to be prepared for rejection.

In addition, difficulties may arise when registering similar machines for a long time. It is quite possible that you will be refused due to the fact that the changes made to the car design do not comply with the safety rules for wheeled vehicles in accordance with the CU TR (Appendix 1).

This means that it is necessary to obtain confirmation of compliance. To do this, you will have to contact the Center of Expertise, accredited to work with vehicles, changes made to the vehicle design and already with evidence of your own rightness to apply to the traffic police and, in case of refusal, to court.

In addition, questions may arise during registration if one model is entered in the TCP, but in fact another of the same brand. When redesigning old "constructors", this may well be detected.

How to register cars with the traffic police: Video

It appeared in Russia relatively recently, just five years ago no one even heard of it. The reason why cars that have undergone sawing began to be imported into the Russian Federation was the decree of 2009, which obliged suppliers to send huge amounts of money to the state treasury. cash - duties, which were several times higher than previous payments. Vehicles transported across the border, structured as a whole, were taxed with a huge customs dutycharged for the vehicle body. The state received at least 5,000 euros on only one transported car, most often this amount was even greater (15% of the customs value of the device was paid).

A little trick of the Japanese

In order not to be mistaken with an iron horse, you need to know how to determine whether a car has been cut or not. Indeed, despite the correct and accurate assembly, a car that was assembled in detail, like a children's designer, can "give" its owner a lot of trouble.

The neat cutting of complete cars allowed the Japanese to avoid huge payments. The fact is that a vehicle sawn into several parts, which in most cases consisted of only three elements - a power unit, a running gear and a checkpoint, can be processed at customs as an ordinary set of spare parts, the amount of duties for which is 10 times less than the previous case.

This cunning scam can only be carried out by those who are trying to smuggle a car from Japan, due to the absence of a license plate on the body of the car. Japanese vehicles are equipped with a number on the frame or other elements, which significantly simplifies such a machine in the Russian Federation. A cunning seller only needs to buy a vehicle passport that matches the brand of the sawn machine. It is even allowed to purchase a PTS, which allows the replacement of component parts within the same model range.

However, one should not naively assume that it is extremely simple to arrange a cut from Japan and everyone can handle it. If the relevant authorities or buyers suspect in the car the presence of a cut preceding the complete assembly, which is issued according to someone else's TCP, illegal actions will entail a refusal to issue a car. A person who unknowingly acquired such a car, if detected by the traffic police, will simply lose the money spent.

Car owners who have no idea what a car is sawing can also take a look at buses belonging to class D for interest, since it is these vehicles that are imported from Japan as construction elements. Most often, those brands of cars that have a frame body are subjected to sawing.

What to do if the purchased machine has been cut?

In order for the sawn car to be assembled later and it could function like a normal working vehicle, you should be guided by a number of restrictions:

  • disassembled to cross the border only in case of complete disconnection of the frame, power unit and body. In addition, the body should be sawn at the front or rear to make 2 separate parts;
  • frameless "cars" are disassembled into three parts, consisting of a body, an engine and a chassis, and there is also a front or rear cut of the body;
  • transportation of the design minibus is carried out in an identical manner, except for the fact that the body can be cut exclusively from the front;
  • all minivans are decomposed into components, the body is sawn from the front or rear.

To date, sellers transport across the border not only cuts of machines based on a frame, but also various frameless cars, for the design and further operation of such vehicles, one should be guided by different rulesconsidering their features.

The negative side of the saw machine

The difference between cars is that the seller provides cargo customs declarations issued only for the power unit of the device for a frameless car when it crosses the border, as well as separate invoices for each of the body parts. The problem is that to issue a cut from Japan as a complete car rests in the absence of a state declaration on a solid body, in view of the fact that it came across the border as 2 separate parts. In order to still go through the registration procedure, the seller has to look for a typical body, remove the bar from the old model and weld it into a new device, while registering a "legal" replacement for the power device. In other words, the car owner has to carry out a lot of illegal measures, by means of which the traffic police will be misled and, accordingly, will issue documents for the construction vehicle.

When there is a need to register a car cut from Japan on the basis of a frame, you can first purchase a special customs declaration, which was issued for the same car (previously imported), then issue the necessary documentation with the traffic police. The simplicity of the process is due to the absence of license plates on the body. In view of this circumstance, almost all vehicles that today "come" to Russia from Japan are based on frames; by means of such a machine, the process of circumvention of the law is facilitated.

Despite the contradiction to Russian law, the use of Japanese frame cars has its own advantage: even in a welded body, passengers are provided high security in the event of an accident. Neat and, importantly, correct re-welding of the sawn body does not in any way affect the rigidity frame machine... The entire load is transferred to the frame without transferring to the body. In the case of welding a frameless car, passengers are not insured against anything, movement in a sawn car is simply unsafe.

Determining the sawing machine

An ordinary car enthusiast may not even be aware of how many cars cross the Russian territory every day as separate parts of a "constructor", later assembled into a single car for sale. If a car enthusiast can afford to purchase an exclusively used car, he should know how not to miss a cut when buying a car.

So, in order to single out a "constructor" from the mass of vehicles presented, one should carefully consider only a few separate aspects. Firstly, a sawn car will have a lower cost than other standard models. This is due to the fact that sellers pay small fees for sawn machines, saving thousands of dollars on this, therefore the sale amount can be several thousand lower.

Secondly, before buying, you need to carefully check absolutely all the documents that the vehicle seller presents. A detailed study will allow you to find out whether the cut is a machine or not. In addition, the future owner will be able to find out the approximate "life" history of the car. Due to the fact that cutting requires the additional purchase of a fake technical passport, if you have the slightest suspicion, you should contact the traffic police to check it on the customs bases.

Striking signs of a machine being a saw cut

To know for sure whether a car is a cut or not, you need to take your time to examine the body of the vehicle. The cuts are made only in certain places, which will make it easier to find possible "seams". The body immediately next to the pillars should be examined especially carefully.

Masters of their craft usually remove all possible evidence hinting at the presence of a preliminary cut. There are cases when it is not possible to determine the places of the seams, then you can study the condition and color of the paintwork on these areas of the body. If the elements are covered with fresh clean paint, then it's time to think about the fact that, in all likelihood, these places have been subjected to various kinds of work.

Door arches can indicate the sawing machine. According to the condition of the fasteners, it is possible to determine the fact that the doors were removed.

However, one should not hope that every motorist, especially one who does not have much experience, will be able to easily identify a sawn car, small evidence left on the body can only be distinguished by a professional or a person with experience in carrying out body work.

Is it safe to ride the constructor?

Even if the future car owner does not know how to determine by TCP whether the cut is cut or not, you can contact the familiar car service employees who, most likely, will unmistakably point to the car that arrived in Russia as a mass of separate parts. If, nevertheless, the buyer was unlucky with the purchase of the vehicle and he found out about the cut after the purchase, it should be remembered that not all models will be able to provide a sufficient level of safety without putting the owner's life at risk.

As mentioned earlier, a frame jeep, the body of which was welded by professionals, can function for a long time. Safety is ensured by the integrity of the frame, which is not subject to sawing. When re-issuing documents to the traffic police, it is necessary to provide, in addition to the technical passport, the PTS of the donor car.

By purchasing a frameless car, the buyer may encounter problems during customs clearance and further processing of the required documents. Along with these shortcomings, there is a direct threat to passengers: in the event of an accident, a car can break in half.

Conclusion

Based on the foregoing, we can conclude that it does not always make sense to save on your life and buy a car that can be obviously cut. Thinking about buying a used car, you do not need to purchase the first Japanese model that is suitable for the cost, it will be wiser and better to seek help from professionals who will help determine the presence of elements indicating a cut in the body.
