Regulations for changing the oil in DSG 7. How to change the oil in the DSG box

SEAT Leon Copa Plus car. Bundle 1.8TSI + DSG7 + ABS + ESP + EBD.

Robotic transmission DSG-7, DQ200, 0AM, NTQ... We purchase original VAG gear oil, order code - G052512A2... The gearbox drain plug is unscrewed with a regular hexagon by 10.

If you could damage, then the plug code - N10037105. Both items are taken from the catalog by VIN-number.

How to change the oil, we spied on AlexanderWillwillis from Drive2.ru. He has everything clearly told and shown. A couple of additions from us. If you've never removed the case air filter, then clarify in advance how this is done. At 1.8 TSI, to remove it, you need to gently pull up, because it sits tightly on two landing pins of the battery platform, and rubber dampers are located in the filter housing mounting holes. And one moment. We drained 1.7 liters of used oil from the DSG7 box, and filled in all 2 liters.

Oil change in DSG-7 was carried out at a mileage of 76,000 km. What made us do this? Doubt! Doubts that the constantly touching parts of the checkpoint technical liquid can work the entire life of the car and keep its performance characteristics... 2 years of warranty - yes, the gear oil is capable of working. So? And if the machine is used for 5-7 years? We think not. The gearbox oil is not able to work without losing its physical and chemical characteristics for such a long period. Therefore, they made a replacement. The result is below.

Photo-2: metal particles in waste oil from DSG7. Mileage 76 thousand km. Photo-3: again metal particles in waste oil from DSG7.

Subjectively, we did not do the oil change procedure in vain. The box began to switch very gently, barely noticeable.

19.07.2016 After changing the oil in the gearbox, 4 months have passed and 6000 km have been driven. During this time, no problems arose: there were no smudges, fogging due to the filling of 2 liters of oil, and there are no. The car was accelerated 1 time to 200 km. in hour.

Our conclusion: the oil in the mechanical part of the DSG-7 must be changed. How often? We believe that every 60 thousand km.

Box dSG transmission type 0CW (DQ200) has two separate oil fillings. One for transmission oiland the other for hydraulic oil. The 0CW gearbox oil level and the mechatronics hydraulic oil level cannot be checked. The correct oil level can only be achieved by draining the old oil and refilling with new oil!

The gear oil for the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission 0CW is permanently filled (oils are designed for life). For this reason, the oil level is not checked and there is no inspection plug on this transmission.

In the event of a leak in the transmission, the cause must be determined and the problem rectified.
The correct oil level in the gearbox can only be achieved by draining the old oil and then filling the gearbox with new oil in the specified amount. See DSG 0CW filling volumes.

Draining transmission oil
- Raise the vehicle.
- Place a pallet under the gearbox.
- Unscrew the oil drain plug on the gearbox (arrow).

Drain the oil.
- Install the oil drain plug.

Filling with gear oil
The prescribed amount of oil must be strictly observed - the transmission will only be filled correctly if this has been done.
Overfilling as well as insufficient filling impairs the correct operation of the transmission.

New oil is filled through the air outlet.
If the transmission is on a vehicle, depending on the model and engine, the air filter or battery with battery tray must be removed when filling the transmission with oil.

Remove air filter
- Remove the battery and battery tray
- Remove the cover from the air outlet.

Install the VAS 6262/4 adapter on the VAS 6262A adapter.

Before screwing the VAS 6262A adapter onto the oil distributor, measure the length of the tube (dimension -a-) and, if necessary, shorten the adapter tube to dimension -a-: 210 mm.
Dimension -a- is measured from the shaft (green area in the illustration) of the oil filling adapter VAS 6262A.

Note: Shake the oil bottle well before opening to mix any deposits on the bottom of the oil bottle. Use only gear oil for 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox DSG - 0CW to fill, see Electronic Genuine Parts Catalog.

Screw the oil bottle onto the VAS 6262 A adapter.

If the thread of the oil distributor does not match the thread of the adapter VAS 6262 A, the adapter VAS 6262/6 must be used.

Remove the adapter from the transmission after refueling.
- Wipe the area around the air outlet with a cloth.
- Place on the ventilation cover.
- Install the battery tray and battery
- Install the air filter.

Note: There is a risk of damage to the mechatronics of the J743 dual clutch transmission. For mechatronics, only hydraulic oil available in spare parts can be used, see Electronic Genuine Parts Catalog. Other hydraulic oils will cause malfunctions and / or damage to the transmission. The hydraulic oil level cannot be checked.

If hydraulic oil is lost from the mechatronics, the correct oil level can only be set by changing the oil. During installation work, the mechatronics must be hermetically sealed.
Insufficient hydraulic oil and overfilling affect the operation of the mechatronics, which can lead to malfunctions.

Condition:
Mechatronic must be removed

Draining hydraulic oil

Remove oil filler screw -arrow-.
Replace the filler screw after removal.

Remove ventilation cover - arrow - if not already done.

The vent cover of the mechatronics is destroyed when removed and must be replaced, see the electronic catalog of original parts.
When turning the mechatronics, the oil is drained from both the oil hole and the vent hole. For this reason, the mechatronics should be positioned so that both holes are above the oil collection pan.
Switch on the mechatronics and let the hydraulic oil drain completely.

Filling with hydraulic oil
Refill with new hydraulic oil only after all mechatronics repair work has been completed.
After completely draining the hydraulic oil, return the mechatronic to its original position.
The filler hole points up.

It's good when the car is new and you don't need to think about where and when to service your iron horse. Another thing is when you bought a used car that has run out of warranty, it is clear that it makes sense to continue servicing the car at authorized dealer no. In today's article, we will talk in detail about how to independently change the oil in dSG box-7 in Volkswagen passat CC (there is practically no difference between replacing the restyled and derestyling versions, at least the process itself is completely similar). Also consider the issue of choosing an oil, which oil is recommended by an authorized dealer and which oil is best suited as an analogue so that you can save a little.

Owners of used Volkswagen Passat SS 1.8 with DSG-7 often have a question whether they need to change the oil in the box or not? Disputes arise due to the fact that the DSG-7 uses a dry clutch, hence many people mistakenly think that there is no oil in the box and therefore there is nothing to change. Let's hasten to dispel this myth.

How much oil is in the DSG-7 DQ 200 box?

The second most popular question, which logically follows from the first, is how much oil is needed for replacement? Having studied great amount forums where owners share their experience, we have come to a figure of 2.1 liters. For comparison, the oil change in DSG-6 is 6 liters, it is easy to remember the number of exactly the number of gears.

What kind of oil to fill?

It is best to pour the manufacturer's recommended gear oil G 052 512 A2 it is sold in liter bottles at the price
from 900 to 1,300 rubles, depending on the region. This product is suitable for mechanical and robotic transmissions (DSG-7 DQ 200) installed in Audi, Skoda, SEAT and Volkswagen.

Alternatively, some use:

  • FEBI 21829 price from 500 rubles per 1 liter;
  • SWAG 10921829 price from 500 rubles per 1 liter;
  • VAG GCN052512Z2 price from 900 rubles per 1 liter.

Step-by-step instructions for changing the oil yourself

Before proceeding to the description of the actions, in addition to oil, you will need a drain plug; its cost is 170 rubles. From the tools you will need a “10” hexagon, a syringe with a flexible hose and a container itself where the old oil will be drained. This process should take place on a warm transmission. so let's get started:

  1. remove the plastic protection;
  2. unscrew the gearbox plug;
  3. drain the oil;
  4. we twist the cork;
  5. we put plastic protection;
  6. remove the breather cap;
  7. insert the tube into the hole;
  8. fill in oil (Important! you need to fill in oil exactly as much as the old one has poured out, because the box is not equipped with a dipstick, calculations will have to be done independently);
  9. put the breather cap in place.

That is, in principle, the whole process, which should not cause any particular difficulties and for a long time. By the way,

Modern cars have a complex structure. This applies not only to engines, but also to boxes. Previously, automakers practiced only two transmissions - a mechanic and an automatic. New checkpoints have appeared today. One of these is the DSG robotic box. It is installed on cars of the Volkswagen - Audi concern and has a special device (with two clutches and a two-mass flywheel).

You need to understand that changing the oil in DSG has some differences from classic boxes. What technology is this operation performed using? What kind of oil to pour into the DSG box? DSG and much more - further in the article.

Regulations

You should always follow the rules. Oil (be it engine or transmission oil) is always a consumable and sooner or later becomes unusable. Over time, the liquid loses its color and lubricating properties.

This negatively affects the resource of the box. Therefore, in order to keep the car in good condition, you should change the oil in the DSG mechatronics on time. Experts recommend doing this procedure every sixty thousand kilometers. But if the car is used in extreme conditions (frequent traffic jams or severe frosts), this period should be reduced to forty thousand kilometers.

What to pour and how much?

Many people want to know what kind of oil to fill in DSG. The dealer recommends using the original product "VAG" G052182A2. However, its cost is more than a thousand rubles per liter. Therefore, many people prefer analogs.

So, Pentosin FFl-2 oil has proven itself well. it transmission fluid German production, which costs 300 rubles less than the original "Vagovskaya". However, when changing the oil in the DSG, these two fluids should not be mixed. If previously used in the box original oil, in the future it is better to use it.

Now it's worth talking about volume. How much oil should there be in the DSG box? The filling volume is seven liters. But if it is a DSG 7 with a dry clutch, the volume is less - 1.9 liters.

note

In addition to new oil, you also need to purchase:

Only then can the DSG oil be changed.

Get started

So, first you need to drive the car into the inspection pit. Then you should turn off the engine, having previously set the gearbox selector to the "parking" mode. After that, unscrew the drain plug of the box pallet. To do this, you need an 8mm Allen key. Prepare an empty container for old oil with a capacity of about five liters. It is advisable to keep it clean (you need to determine if there are chips in the old fluid). Drain the old oil, tighten the plug and inspect the condition of the fluid. If metal particles are found, increased wear of the box elements can be stated. Such a checkpoint may be unstable.

After that you need to get to oil filter... He is above. To get it, you will have to dismantle the battery and the platform for it.

If access is difficult, you can also remove the air filter housing with pipes. Then unscrew the cover two turns and allow the remaining oil to drain into the crankcase. Then unscrew the cover completely and replace the filter element.

What then?

After that, you need to fill in new fluid. Some people add it directly to the body of a new filter, but it is long and difficult (a liter is filled in for ten minutes). Therefore, it is better to find an adapter that is screwed in instead of oil drain plug... You also need a 10 mm hose (it is important that it is transparent). The length of the hose is about two meters. Its second end is pulled over the throat of a narrow funnel, which is attached above engine compartment.

Then start the engine. Warm up the box. To do this, switch the gearbox selector to different modes. The oil should warm up to 45 degrees. If liquid was poured at room temperature, the box should warm up in three to five minutes.

At the next stage, the knob is unscrewed and a bottle of oil is installed instead (usually the liquid is sold in liters, so take it). Place this bottle on the floor so that it is below the level of the transmission. In this case, excess liquid will drain through the transparent tube. As soon as the jet decreases to drops, the adapter is unscrewed and the oil drain plug is screwed on. Previously, the seal is changed on it.

Please note that after changing the oil in the DSG, tighten the plug only by hand. After that, with the engine running, you need to switch modes again with a delay of five seconds. Then return the lever to the "parking" mode (the engine will not shut off). Unscrew the plug again. If the oil runs off, you need to wait for the excess to go away. Then you can tighten the plug and start full-fledged operation.

Nuances

The most difficult part of this procedure is determining the exact temperature of the transmission oil. Specialists have for this special device, which is connected via the diagnostic connector. But when replacing it with their own hands, they can cope without it. The main thing is to remember that the optimal temperature for checking the oil level is from 35 to 45 degrees Celsius.

It is worth remembering that both an excess and a lack of oil are harmful for a robotic transmission. The level should be medium.

How to change the oil for a "dry" DSG 7?

The sequence of work on a seven-speed box:

  1. The protection is removed, which covers the checkpoint.
  2. The drain plug is unscrewed.
  3. The old oil is drained.
  4. The remaining oil is pumped out with a syringe or by jacking up the machine in the area of \u200b\u200bthe left front wheel.
  5. The drain plug is twisted.
  6. The protection is put in place.

Liquid is poured through a plastic breather (it is black and is located on the plastic cover of the DSG blocking mechanism). You can remove the cover completely, but this will also require removing the battery or air filter housing. Next, 1.9 liters of new fluid are poured. After that, the replacement procedure can be considered complete.

If this operation is performed in winter, the transmission should be pre-warmed up. Better to do a little trip. This will make the oil less viscous and will drain more quickly from the gears and shafts inside the transmission. In the summer, you can do without preheating. The liquid already at +20 degrees Celsius has a normal viscosity.

Conclusion

So, now you know how to change the oil for robotic box... As you can see, this operation can be done with your own hands.

DSG gearboxes have become actively used in cars vAG groups some years ago. Today on secondary market a significant number of cars with this type of transmission are presented.

The tradition is that buyers of used cars in Russia prefer to replace service fluids immediately after purchase. vehicle... This is done to ensure that high-quality lubricantsthat meet the manufacturer's requirements.

Among the first units to be serviced is the gearbox. If everything has long been known about the features of servicing automatic transmissions of a torque converter type, then in the case of cars with DSG boxes that have recently appeared on the secondary market, the information is fragmentary and contradictory.

What is DSG?

First you need to understand the features of this transmission. This abbreviation stands for Gearbox with two clutches in German. In fact, it is a mechanic, the control of which is automated.

This design allows for quick response of the shifting mechanism, due to the fact that one clutch disc operates at even speeds, and the other at odd speeds. The transmission pre-performs operations prior to changing gears.

Such designs also appear on cars from other manufacturers. However, when talking about DSG, it should be understood that we are talking about transmissions under different names installed on the products of Skoda, Seat, Audi and Volkswagen.

Experts say that a gearbox of this design will replace the usual torque converter transmissions, since they provide more fast work... Other advantages are fuel efficiency and less power loss when transmitting torque to the drive wheels, as well as a relatively compact unit.

How is DSG7 different?

Two main types of DSG transmissions are installed on VAG cars. Some of them have a wet clutch, while others dry. The latter are called DSG7. They are designed without a hydraulic clutch cooling system. For this reason, such a transmission does not tolerate work in conditions of traffic jams and congestion: the absence of an incoming air flow often leads to overheating and its failure.

A distinctive feature of this model is the limitation of the torque of the motors used. They are used in vehicles of the concern, whose maximum thrust is within 250 Nm.

How to quickly and easily renew the lubricant in the transmission?

Do I need to change the oil in the DSG?

This question is not idle, since the manufacturer's policy and operating features of this transmission can lead to conflicting conclusions. On the one hand, the manufacturer claims that the gearbox is not serviceable, so the oil in it cannot be changed. On the other hand, there are severe climatic and road conditions Russia, which significantly affect the state of the lubricating fluid.

There is a third point: experienced owners of cars with DSG7 claim that the transmission rarely has a resource exceeding 100 thousand km, so the oil can be changed during repairs.
Given the fact that the buyer is unlikely to purchase a car with gearbox faults (this can be detected during a test drive, during which characteristic twitching will be observed), it makes sense to facilitate its work. The oil in the unit under stress will obviously be worse than new. Changing the fluid will extend the life of many of its elements.

At what intervals should the DSG7 oil be changed?

Given that the manufacturer considers this transmission to be maintenance-free, there is no official recommendation for mileage or the period after which a new lubricant will be required. In such a situation, it is better to turn to the experience and advice of owners of cars with DSG.

Looking for information on the forums of the owners of these machines, you can find different points of view. Someone says there is no need for replacement, since the design uses a dry-type clutch, others insist on updating the oil almost in parallel with the engine oil. However, most experienced users point out the need to service the checkpoint every 30 or 40 thousand kilometers.

What is the best way to change: on your own or at the bus station?

In the face of the need to save the family budget, this issue is becoming more and more relevant for motorists. Of course, not everyone has the appropriate basic skills, a garage or the ability to use a lift on their own. Therefore, the dilemma exists only in these cases.

There is no one-size-fits-all recipe and every car owner must make an independent decision. Each of the options has its own advantages and disadvantages, each of which can be crucial if you need to change the oil. Below are the main pros and cons.

Oil change at service station

The positive aspects of oil change in a car service include the speed of the procedure and the absence of the need to work independently. And the presence of a lift will allow you to inspect the car for other malfunctions in good lighting conditions.

However, there are a number of disadvantages as well. If we are talking about an authorized dealer's service center, then the cost of work will seriously hit the pocket of the owner of such a car. Similar problems are possible in unauthorized services: unscrupulous employees can tell a large number of stories about the "incredible technical complexity" of DSG and the complexity of the operations.

Self-oil change

This method is unlikely to be suitable for the fair sex who owns a car with DSG7, since during the work you will have to apply physical effort. However, for many men who have the opportunity to use the garage, such work will even be a pleasure.

The main advantage is that you will have to pay exclusively for a new lubricant. This will save a significant amount on service costs, because the replacement will be done by hand. Another advantage will be confidence in the quality of the work done: the owner will know for sure that all removable elements are back in place.

A plus for DSG self-service versus automatic transmission is the absence of the need to apply special equipment for pumping the contents of the transmission.
The disadvantages, first of all, include the need to carry out the replacement operation in dirty conditions. For this reason, you should choose clothes that you do not mind getting dirty.
These actions will be difficult for users who do not have basic knowledge of the device of car units. An inexperienced owner runs the risk of draining the oil from the engine.

DIY oil change in DSG7

Having decided on an independent oil change, the car owner must find a suitable place. If he does not have a garage with a service pit, you can ask friends or acquaintances to provide his premises for work.

Yet the best option there will be an opportunity to use the lift. Currently, there are car services that rent out their premises and equipment for short-term use to carry out car repairs.

In any case, you will need conditions that allow you to work comfortably and freely under the machine, so a regular overpass will do. If this issue is resolved, it will be possible to change the oil without any problems.

Tools that will be needed during work

The nice thing is that during the fluid change, you do not need special tools produced by the manufacturer to service their equipment. You will need the following:
  • A set of keys with different sizes and leading principles;
  • Funnel for filling liquid;
  • The container into which the oil will be drained;
  • A syringe with a hose at the end to collect the remaining oil in the checkpoint (in the case of work on a lift or overpass);
  • Jack (in the case when the oil is changed in the garage);
  • A key with an indicator of the applied effort (it is desirable, but not required);
  • Internal hex key 10 for unscrewing the gearbox drain plug;
  • 2 liters of oil;
  • Rags for cleaning surfaces from grease;
  • Gloves;
  • Drain plug for replacement.

What kind of oil should you add?

Initially, a synthetic lubricant was poured into the DSG7 boxes. However, due to the identified shortcomings in its use, the manufacturer carried out a recall campaign. In the course of it, a replacement was made for a mineral liquid, since the synthetics corroded the gasket and got inside the gearbox control unit (mechatronics). This led to the destruction of the latter.

As a result, all transmissions were filled with mineral oil the same composition as in mechatronics. Currently, the manufacturer recommends filling with a service fluid that meets the 052 529 A2 standard. The easiest way to get it is from a dealer, but you can also pick up analogues offered by oil companies.

How to prepare the car for work?

It is important to warm up the transmission well before starting a replacement. To do this, it is better to make a preliminary trip, during which the oil inside will become warm. In this state, the liquid becomes more fluid and it will be much easier and faster to drain from the shafts and gears located inside during draining.

If in the summer you can do without a long pre-heating procedure, then in winter time it will be difficult to drain the grease from the gearbox of a car that has stood in the cold for even less than an hour. Warming up can be accelerated by frequent starts and stops, this mode loads the transmission of this type most strongly and quickly.

Draining old fluid

Replacement begins by draining the old grease. It will consist of the following steps:

At the time of unscrewing the plug, you should be careful, because the liquid may flow past the container. In this case, the old plug becomes unusable, which does not require holding it during the grease dripping. The new one should be screwed up to a force of 30 Nm. In the absence of a key measuring this parameter, there is a danger of thread breaking, so do not tighten it all the way.

Filling with new grease

In order to get to the checkpoint, you will have to remove the interfering elements under the hood. Depending on the car model, this can be a battery, its platform, as well as an air filter housing. There should be enough space for further work.

You can fill in oil in 2 ways:

  • Through a black plastic breather on the plastic cover of the gearbox locking mechanism;
  • By removing the indicated cover.

The first method requires more accuracy, while the second involves additional operations.

Pour 1.9 liters of fresh grease through the funnel. After that, you need to perform all the steps in reverse order.

Replacing fluid in the control unit

According to statistics, the mechatronic is the most vulnerable element of the DSG. Many users are interested in the need to change the lubricant and in it. Unfortunately, this element is separately located inside the unit, so there is no possibility of its regular maintenance without removing the gearbox. For this reason, replacement occurs only during its repair.

How not to kill the checkpoint?

Despite the fact that this type of checkpoint is a step forward, their independent basic maintenance is now easier than with conventional automatic machines. The change of grease in a dry DSG will be handled by the owner with normal skills.
