From the side, the car looks expensive and imperious. The high-rise line of the hood and the location of the windshield in the joint with the fenders give the Koleos an unusual design. This image is complemented by a chrome strip that extends from the front optics to the air intake located on the front door.

The third-generation crossover has got outrageously "inflated" fenders and wheel arches, which gradually taper towards the center of the car, which makes the crossover even more masculine. There are wide linings near the sills, and stylish 17-19-inch wheels are located in the wheel arches.

The rear of Renault Koleos 2018-2019 has become more harmonious and solid. On the sides of the optics, there are lines on the bumper, following the design of the daytime running lights at the front. Engines

For Russian buyers, the French carmaker offers a car with three powertrain options, each of which works with an X-tronic variator. Combined cycle consumption per 100 km of track with it will increase to 8.3 liters, but acceleration to "hundreds" will be reduced to 9.8 seconds. The maximum speed almost reaches 200 km / h and is 199 km / h.
3. The "top" engine is a 4-cylinder diesel, which is equipped with a turbocharger. At 2.0 liters displacement this motor develops 177 hp. and 380 Nm of torque, which is traditionally available on diesel engines from the very bottom - from 2000 rpm. The maximum speed of Renault Koleos 2018-2019 is 201 km / h, and acceleration to 100 km / h takes 9.5 seconds. With this power unit, the crossover has a record low fuel consumption - 5.8 liters in the combined cycle.

Suspension and brakes

The car was equipped with a "bogie" of the joint Nissan-Renault alliance, which is referred to as CMF-C / D. Today the car has been in the hands of its owners for very little time, but even in this short period of time, many of them managed to identify their pros and cons.

Many potential buyers they fear the variator, but as it turned out, it does not let anyone down, and its adequate work only pleases the owners. Power plants are still considered reliable. The owners of the second generation, who did not fill diesel engines with the most quality fuelbut they still work properly.

The owners of the new Koleos 2018-2019 also note the high quality of the interior assembly and the quality of finishing materials.

Repeatedly on the network you can find complaints about low quality noise insulation. Not everything is happy about the audio system in the Excutive configuration, but those who took the Premium package only praise the audio system.

A significant drawback of the cabin was the lack of useful niches, both small and large.

On the technical side, problems may lie in wait in the chassis of the car. Far from record runs live front struts, ball bearings and bearings.

Engines with a working volume of 2 and 2.5 liters develop 144 and 175 horsepower, respectively.

Diesel power plants are versions of the boost version of the 1.6-liter dCi turbocharged engine. This motor can be ordered in 130 and 160 horsepower versions.

A manual 6-speed gearbox is offered in a pair to the listed engines, as well as a continuously variable X-Tronic unit manufactured by Jatco.

The basic version of the car assumes a drive to the front wheel axle. For an additional fee, you can order an optional all-wheel drive system, in which a multi-plate clutch is responsible for transmitting torque to the rear pair of wheels. The clutch can be forcedly locked by pressing the button located next to the steering wheel.

Renault Koleos is based on the CMF-C / D platform. This modular bogie is today the basis for several models produced by the Renault-Nissan alliance, including the already mentioned X-Trail. The main goal of the current restyling is the desire of the manufacturer to bring the appearance of all its cars under the common denominator of the updated corporate style developed by the famous auto designer Lawrence Van den Acker. At the same time, nothing global happened to "Koleos": on the crossover they replaced the radiator grille, which became larger and more aggressive, slightly adjusted the front bumper, added a new brown color Ebony Brown, and also prepared chrome side linings and fresh dynamic design wheel rims for top-end configurations... It will be very difficult to see something else new in its exterior, since the overall design concept has remained intact, and the dimensions have not changed at all: 4520 mm in length, 1855 mm in width and 1710 mm in height with a 2690 mm wheelbase. The clearance of the Russian version will remain at the level of 206 mm for the "petrol modification" and 188 mm for the ground clearance of the "diesel", while in other markets the landing of the crossover will be slightly lower.

Inside the five-seat crossover, no flashy transformations have taken place. There was no point in changing the quite decent ergonomics of the front panel and the very convenient layout of the cabin itself (with its numerous pockets and niches for storing small things), and the French acted quite deliberately, only slightly refreshing the interior with new, better finishing materials. In expensive trim levels, the crossover can be equipped with a panoramic sunroof with a glazing area of \u200b\u200b0.75 m2, and the Easy Estate system has not disappeared anywhere, allowing you to fold back row seats with one movement of the hand.

As for the trunk, its original volume of 450 liters has remained unchanged, the maximum capacity is 1380 liters, and the lower tailgate flap is now able to withstand just over 200 kg of load.

Specifications. Under the hood of the updated "Koleos" no changes have occurred, even "cosmetic". The range of engines has remained the same, the list of available gearboxes has not changed either:

• The petrol power unit with four cylinders with a total displacement of 2.5 liters (2488 cm³) will remain the main one in our market. The engine meets the requirements of the Euro-4 environmental standard, is equipped with a multi-point fuel injection system, equipped with a 16-valve timing belt, willingly "eats" AI-95 gasoline and is capable of developing a decent 171 hp. maximum power. At the same time, the peak torque of this power unit rests on the 226 Nm mark, allowing the crossover to accelerate to almost 200 km / h, spending about 9.3 seconds on the starting spurt from 0 to 100 km / h. The gasoline engine is equipped with either a 6-speed "mechanics" or a continuously variable CVT, which slightly worsens the dynamic characteristics of the car (the starting acceleration time is reduced to 10.3 seconds). As for the average fuel consumption, with any gearbox, a gasoline unit consumes about 9.6 liters per 100 kilometers.
• For fans of diesel versions of crossovers, Renault developers will offer the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder power unit with a turbocharger. With 1995 cm³ working volume and 16 valves diesel engine produces about 173 hp. capacity, while meeting the requirements of the Euro-5 environmental standard. The maximum torque of the diesel engine is 360 Nm, which makes it possible to accelerate the crossover to 100 km / h, spending no more than 11.9 seconds on the starting jerk. Diesel power point only 6-speed "automatic", and its average consumption fuel does not exceed 7.1 liters.

The French did not prepare any changes in the chassis either. But now this crossover will be available only in an all-wheel drive (All-mode 4 × 4-i) version (previously there was a front-wheel drive version). Four-wheel drive includes three operating modes: Auto, Lock and 2WD. In "Auto" mode, the intelligent control unit automatically distributes the torque between the wheels depending on the degree of their traction. In "Lock" mode, the torque is distributed between the front and rear axles in the ratio 50:50, but in the "2WD" mode, only the front axle remains connected, which saves fuel.

Of course, the restyling could not be limited only to cosmetic improvements to the exterior and interior. Something the French had to try to surprise the world and make potential customers take a closer look at Renault Koleos. The updated crossover first of all got a new R-Link multimedia system with a seven-inch touchscreen display, offering a wider range of functions and supporting voice control in 26 languages. In addition, the novelty will receive a new system Blind Spot Warning, responsible for monitoring blind spots.
