The gears click clearly and confidently, the gear lever travel is significantly less than in Logan or Gentra. And there are six gears. For the same Logan, the passion is not enough for an additional gear, which would affect efficiency and stifle the sound of the engine on cruising speeds.

And yet there is a slight sediment in this barrel of Korean honey. The guests in the back row will be the first to feel it - especially if the three of them climb there. Solaris is noticeably closer than competitors: it squeezes both shoulders and knees. The sloping roof strives to hit the tall ones on the head. And even when I was 176 cm tall, my hair touched the ceiling trim, sitting in the middle. By the way, the middle headrest is not provided. The brake pedal to the floor - and under the uniform chirping of ABS, our Hyundai stands rooted to the spot in the fresh snow. The information content of the brake pedal drive is the best in the test. Good Solaris! But the price is also high - 684,900 rubles.

And although it is foolish to deny that they formed a positive perception of it in the mind, I approached the assessment very carefully and thoroughly studied every little thing.

If we were to give points for the interior polish and overall sense of quality, Solaris would have traveled two buildings around Vesta.

I start the engine and ... This is the first Lada in which it is difficult to understand whether the engine is running or not. No vibrations on pedals or gear lever. There is neither the excessive lightness shown by Solaris on the track, nor the permanent "jelly" Renault, nor the thoughtfulness of Gentra. Of the annoying ergonomic punctures, I will single out only scanty exterior mirrors. Volkswagen rides great. The re-tuned suspension allows the Polo to "steer" Vesta, not to mention everyone else. On the straight line, it maintains reinforced concrete stability. And the "Wagen" has excellent smoothness, in addition, it is quieter than opponents at cruising speeds. And even the back sofa did not change the balance of power. There was concern that the owner of the shortest wheelbase would sadden passengers, but in the back, the Polo is no worse than the Gentra, West or Logan. Even if five of us go on a long journey, the 424-liter (according to ZR measurements) trunk will easily shelter all the bags.

Having muffled the engines and casting a farewell glance at our wards, we are ready to announce the outcome. Constant updates were not in vain: Polo - the oldest and quality car in the segment. Practical, with delicious handling, decent ride and a fair price. It is made with love for the customer, which Gentra (in terms of quality), Logan (in terms of ergonomics) and Vesta (in terms of finishing materials) lack so much. This is a well-deserved victory, proving that after five years on the assembly line you can be the best.
