Getting your first sports bike where to start. Rating of the most powerful motorcycles on the planet The best sports and touring motorcycles

In this article we will tell you how a novice motorcycle rider does not make mistakes when choosing his first bike and which models are best to pay attention to. In short, this review is compiled for the prudent category of beginners who either graduated or are about to go to a motorcycle school.

We will briefly describe each model. Firstly, because we understand that not everyone is interested in watching a great help from Wikipedia. And secondly, we think highly of you and know that you know how to use Google. For convenience, we will distribute the motorcycles according to the power scale of the motors.

1) 15 horsepower

LIFAN KP 150 V updated version 2015 year. The maximum speed is 120 km / h. Weight - 138 kg. Height - 790 mm saddle. It only costs $ 1,400 in showrooms. And so far, it's the best bike that money can buy. It has liquid cooling, a 6-speed gearbox and a thimbled fuel consumption (2.5 liters per 100 km) for a 13-liter gas tank. In addition, he rides much more fun than the YBR 125. A correctly run-in, timely maintenance and observance of the operating rules turn him into an immortal pony. Such motorcycles are constantly working in motorcycle schools and have the reputation of not being killed.

2) 20 horsepower

Remember the Kawasaki Eliminator 125? A very successful model. The maximum speed is 130 km / h. Weight - 154 kg. The volume of the tank is 14 liters. Consumption - 3 liters per 100 km. It was manufactured inside and out at the Bajaj plant in India. In 2010, it was discontinued. But the Indians came to an agreement with the Japanese, threw 100 cubes into the engine, a radiator and continued to produce it under the name Bajaj Avenger 220. The 2017 model can be bought in the showroom for only $ 2300. You simply will not find a better quality small-volume cruiser for this money.

3) 24 horsepower

Bajaj NS200. The maximum speed is 155 km / h. Weight - 123 kg. Height - 805 mm saddle. The volume of the tank is 12 liters. Consumption - 3 liters per 100 km. Another Hindu, but with Austrian roots. It is manufactured at the Pune plant. And on the same assembly line as the KTM Duke 200. The motor of the first differs only in the head, crankcase covers and attachments. Moreover, due to the crisis, the 2017 model costs only $ 2,600 in showrooms. In our opinion, this is the best small-cubic motorcycle for the city in terms of price-quality ratio. And with all the love for KTM, the price of their 200 is boorishly high.

4) 33 horsepower

Kawasaki Ninja 250 R. Maximum speed - 160 km / h. Weight - 170 kg. Acceleration in 6 seconds to 100 km / h. The volume of the tank is 18 liters. Consumption - 4 liters per 100 km. Suitable for those who need an inexpensive but attractive motorcycle for girls. If in the past two minutes your eyes twitched at the mention of Indian-Chinese bikes, then we will upset you. Now these little ninjas are also made at the Bajaj factory. In 2013, there was a major restyling of the model. In particular, she received fuel injection. There is also a 300 cc version with ABS, but it costs very different money. Dropping these motorcycles is undesirable. You will be very surprised when you find out how much the original plastic costs.

5) 33-45 horsepower

If you don't like the Bajaj Avenger 220, then we recommend the Honda Shadow 400 no older than 2004. The maximum speed is 145 km / h. The volume of the tank is 14 liters. Consumption - 5 liters per 100 km. Height - 675 mm saddle. For beginners, the 400 in the classic version will be optimal, but you can take a closer look at the 750 in the AERO version. From all other cruisers, they are very easy to handle. Despite the dry weight of 225 kg and 240 kg respectively, they have a very low center of gravity and saddle height. So this bike is pretty easy to handle. In addition, such motorcycles are often not driven, but they are treated like an iPhone bought with the last money. So even 15-year-olds come across in very good condition.

6) 40 horsepower

seconds to hundreds. The volume of the tank is 10 liters. Height - 890 mm saddle. This bike is perfect for riders with low vision. Because it, too, is capable of overlooking pits, thanks to its enormous suspension travel and durable spoke wheels. Like his enduro brother, he is not afraid of light falls. But unlike the off-road versions, it handles better on asphalt, has excellent brakes and is 45 mm lower in the saddle. Having bought it once, you will not want to sell it. The only drawback of the model is the price. A more or less live copy of 2005 will cost no less than $ 4000. Fresh bikes are all $ 6,500.

7) 63-67 horsepower

Suzuki V-Strom 650. We recommend taking no older than 2004. The maximum speed is 185 km / h. Weight - 214-220 kg. Acceleration in 4.2 seconds to hundreds. The volume of the tank is 20-22 liters. Consumption of five and a half liters per hundred. Height - 835 mm saddle. This bike is ideal for large, leggy riders. It can be described in two words - versatility and reliability. And it is convenient to travel around the city and on long journeys it is comfortable and you can drive to the forest for a barbecue party. A kind of Captain America in a two-wheeled version, adjusted for nationality. Prices for freshly used used start at $ 4,500 and end at around $ 7,000.

8) 70 horsepower

Kawasaki ER-6 N. We recommend taking 2008-2014. The maximum speed is 200 km / h. Weight - 196-211 kg. Acceleration in 3.8 seconds to hundreds. The volume of the tank is 16 liters. Consumption of five and a half liters per hundred. Height - 785 mm saddle. The cost is from 4000 to 6000 dollars. Nothing fancy, just one of the best motorcycles for the city. Lightweight and dynamic and relatively inexpensive to operate. The only negative is noticeable vibrations.

9) 77 horsepower

Yamaha XJ6N. We recommend taking 2009. The maximum speed is 215 km / h. Weight - 211 kg. Acceleration in 3.9 seconds to hundreds. The volume of the tank is 17 liters. Consumption of six liters per hundred. Height - 785 mm saddle. Cost from $ 5,000 to $ 6,500. Let's just say - it's a "phaser" for rogue. Simple frame, cheap suspension and brakes, but after a serious ride, you really want to buy it. The bike is as comfortable as your favorite seat. Soft and fluid, yet dynamic. When you change to another bike, it looks like a stool that shakes like a jackhammer.

10) 102 horsepower

Often we are asked to advise some kind of sports bike for a beginner of 600 cubes, otherwise "the boys will not understand." Here's our answer - the Honda CBR600F. We recommend taking 2011. The maximum speed is 220 km / h. Weight - 210 kg. Acceleration in 3.5 seconds to hundreds. The volume of the tank is 18 liters. Consumption six and a half liters per hundred. Height - 800 mm saddle. Cost from $ 5,000 to $ 7,000. This is the sportiest and fastest motorcycle that our conscience can advise a beginner.

P.S. In general, the best bike is the Soviet IZH. You will learn how to start a motorcycle, even when it is basically not on the move. Enjoy a sleepover in the open air when your engine gets jammed. Build your leg and back muscles by pushing him home again. Comprehend the mystery of a knee overhaul with wire, pliers and a screwdriver, and make tons of extraordinary friends. You will love him and he will love you. And these are wonderful moments.

We all were once new to something. Each of us took a license and got behind the wheel for the first time. It doesn't matter what - a car or a motorcycle. And it should be understood that the status of a beginner in this case does not concern age in any way. Many people come to bikes at a fairly mature age, and there are special motorcycles for them.

No, they are not specifically beginner bikes, but riding them without enough experience is much easier and easier. When choosing a bike for a beginner, you should pay attention to several parameters:

  1. Engine power. It shouldn't be too big.
  2. Availability of additional electronics. Various auxiliary sensors make learning much easier.
  3. Simple maintenance and repair. Any equipment sooner or later has to be repaired, but in the hands of a beginner this need arises more often, and it is desirable that the motorcycle be easily and cheaply restored in case of breakdown.

And, of course, security. This parameter reflects all the points listed above, and many bikes do not initially fit this definition. But we have selected the 10 best models for you that meet all the criteria. The rating includes both city bikes and bikes for travel and even sports, but first things first.

The best city bikes for newbies

A motorcycle is primarily a means of propelling. More convenient and more compact than a car. But not all bikes are suitable for city driving. Often, excessive engine power and an uncomfortable fit complicate this process. A city bike should be as comfortable as possible, and in addition, it should be equipped with a lot of additional electronics, allowing you to better control yourself and your equipment in the cramped conditions of city traffic.

4 Kawasaki KLR650

The tallest ground clearance... Attractive price
Country: Japan
Average price: 300,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.7

The division into urban and non-urban bikes is a convention. In some cases, the motorcycle easily copes with driving through city traffic jams and overcoming off-road conditions. Before us is just such a bike, the main feature of which is the maximum ride height and increased ground clearance. The motorcycle is perfect for tall people who will not feel uncomfortable. AND high ground clearance allows you to overcome even the most serious obstacles.

Simply put, if you are looking for a bike without a specific purpose, and you plan to dilute city trips with travel, then this is the best model you can find. In addition, a 23-liter gas tank is installed here, which allows for fairly long journeys without the need to refuel. Again, don't forget about brand affiliation. It is famous for the quality of all manufactured equipment, and in this case, the price will also please.

3 Suzuki V-Strom 650

Comfortable fit. Water cooling
Country: Japan
Average price: 410,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.8

Many motorcycles, especially of the sport type, force the driver to be in an uncomfortable position while riding. This is due to many factors and over time you get used to it. But beginners often have a hard time, and then this bike is especially for them. This is a very comfortable fit, without forcing you to be in a semi-recumbent position. The seat height is 83 centimeters, which is optimal for a comfortable ride.

Also noteworthy is the presence of an injector and water cooling. If you plan to travel mainly around the city, then this aspect will become extremely important for you. Engine overheating under constant load conditions and no high speed is becoming the norm, but a water-cooled engine can handle even long traffic jams with ease. There is also ABS, which is simply vital in motorcycles for beginners. This system makes driving much easier and makes travel more comfortable.

2 Kawasaki Vulcan S

Many additional features
Country: Japan
Average price: 650,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.9

A popular brand from Japan is trying to reach as large an audience as possible. Including beginners. This technique is especially for them. At least that's how users and testers describe it. The bike is as obedient as possible. It gets under way even at the lowest revs, which will create additional comfort when traveling around town.

But the main feature is the presence of a mass of electronic components. Yes, traction control and rear-view cameras are no surprise today, but experienced bikers in most cases try to give up these options. They replace them with their own experience. But here it is all there, and it works great. Also, experts note a simple and inexpensive bike repair. There are a lot of official spare parts and consumables, so you don't have to dig the entire Internet in search of the desired detail... In addition, this is an inexpensive bike, at least by the standards of the Cruiser, and this model belongs to this class of technology.

1 Harley-Davidson Street 750

The best choice from a renowned manufacturer
Country: USA
Average price: 499,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.9

At the mention of this brand, many people associate with the harsh American bikers plowing deserts and prairies. And few people know that Harley, in addition to classic choppers, produces bikes for beginners, although he does not openly call them that.

We have just such a technique. Why is this a beginner bike? Firstly, there is an increased ground clearance. This is what the brand's technique is often criticized for, since the slightest bump or obstacle becomes a problem for the technique. Here you can not worry about the safety of the motorcycle underbody. Secondly, the weight is significantly reduced. Harleys are famous for their love of bulky and heavy machines, which only a person with experience can control. No skills are needed here. The steering wheel turns easily, and the technique obeys the driver unquestioningly. Finally, the price. American bikes are always expensive, and in our country, Harley is an indicator of status. But before us is a completely budgetary and inexpensive option. By Harley-Davidson standards, of course.

Best motocross bikes for beginners

A motorcycle is not only a means of transportation, but also a sports equipment. Bike races are both road and motocross, and the latter are invariably more popular. Largely due to the entertainment and the greater availability of technology. It can be very difficult to master the track, and you need to choose the right sports bike. We have found for you some of the most interesting models that are perfect for a beginner. They are not the best cross bikes, but our rating is not about that.

3 Kayo T2 250

Combination of low price and high performance
Country: China
Average price: 135,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.7

An engine capacity of 250 cc is considered optimal for motocross. Yes, more powerful bikes participate in professional competitions, but this is quite enough for beginner athletes. With this volume and power of the engine, you can easily cope with the controls and can even perform some tricks, such as jumps and sharp turns. At the same time, safety is maintained, which is very important at the initial stage.

This brand comes from China, and is a vivid example of the fact that decent equipment is produced in the Middle Kingdom at the most attractive prices. This bike has been tested many times and there are a lot of reports on its performance on the net. It should be noted that the reviews are mostly positive. The motorcycle lacks stars from the sky, but it is worthy of being a sporting technique for a beginner. Simply put, this is the best bike for your money. Equipment with similar characteristics, but from well-known brands is much more expensive.

2 Kawasaki KX85-I

The most reliable bike
Country: Japan
Average price: 750,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.8

Japanese manufacturers are famous first of all high quality and the reliability of their technology. Buying a bike of almost any Japanese brand, you can be sure that it will last for many years, and therefore its cost is completely leveled.

As for this model, the price is the main, and probably the only drawback. But there are much more advantages. First, it is an ideal technique for newcomers to motorsport. The motorcycle is light, and the engine power is such that even a person who first sat behind the wheel can handle it. Yes, it is not suitable for participation in professional competitions. It simply doesn't have enough power, but with its help you will easily master all the basics of this sport, and you will be able to independently understand when the moment will come to change the technique to a more powerful and professional one. It should also be said about the availability of spare parts and consumables. They are relatively inexpensive and most importantly affordable, so the price of the bike doesn't seem so high anymore.

1 LIFAN LF200GY-5

Best price
Country: China
Average price: 65,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.9

Often, some kind of sport seems attractive to us only from the couch. And as soon as you decide to participate in it yourself, you find a lot of flaws. And it's one thing when it comes to a sport that does not require significant funding, but motocross is not that kind. You should not buy an expensive sports bike if you are not completely confident in your abilities, and in this case we present the best bike at the most attractive price.

It is a popular and inexpensive Chinese brand, the main advantage of which is its low price. Yes it best price in the modern market, and at the same time you should not think that the equipment is of low quality or not working. The bike performs well in field trials and gives excellent results. Of course, according to their class. A beginner athlete will feel as comfortable as possible on it, and will be able to appreciate this difficult, but spectacular and interesting sport. Later, when you have experience and understanding of what you need, you can buy a more powerful version, but at the initial stage this bike will be enough.

Best Touring Bikes for Beginners

If you are looking for a travel bike, you should pay attention to things like convenience, capacity and ease of repair. It must be understood that when long journeys the load on equipment is not as high as in the city, but it will be very difficult to spend a long time driving in an uncomfortable position. A sports bike won't do here. Nor is it necessary, as many brands have dedicated lines of bikes designed for long-distance riding.

3 BMW F800GT

Comfortable bike for long journeys
Country: Germany
Average price: 750,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.7

If you are looking for an inexpensive travel bike, you may not even read this section. The German concern has never been distinguished by loyalty in its pricing policy, and in this case, as in most others, the price is the main, and perhaps the only drawback. This is by far the best bike for traveling and driving around town. It has everything you need, and most importantly - the presence of a huge amount of auxiliary electronics.

It is thanks to the availability of additional options that this motorcycle got into our rating, as it is ideal for beginners, even despite its heavy weight and powerful engine. The smart electronics independently regulates the speed and torque of the engine, and also works with the suspension and brakes. Both a beginner and a professional will feel comfortable driving such a bike. Unless, of course, they will spare the money for the purchase and further maintenance of this technique.

2 CF-Moto 650 TK

The best combination of quality and price
Country: China
Average price: 380,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.8

Another brand from China, not particularly well-known outside the Middle Kingdom. And completely in vain, since this is one of the best tourist motorcycles, and also inexpensive. It should be noted that this brand is engaged in providing motor vehicles to the Chinese government, and also produces motorcycles for law enforcement agencies.

It is supplied to the foreign market in several lines, in particular in the tourist segment. This is a relatively small bike, with minimum engine power, which set a record in 2014, having driven 34 thousand kilometers. Agree, a very good indicator, especially given the relatively low cost. The comfort conditions are also at a height, which is not surprising, given the similarity with one of the touring bikes. bMW concern... Chinese engineers did not copy equipment from Germany, but simply adopted all the most interesting from it, creating truly the best touring motorcycle with high technical and quality characteristics.

1 Honda NT700V Deauville

Affordable service. Cardan transmission
Country: Japan
Average price: 430,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.8

A touring motorcycle should have the most comfortable fit and large capacity luggage compartments... Honda has taken all of these requirements into account, and has released a relatively powerful bike designed for both travel and city use. The main advantage here is the cardan transmission. This will not tell a lot of newbies, but experienced riders know that bikes with a gimbal last much longer, and are much less likely to need repair than their chain counterparts.

As for the shortcomings, and they can be found even in the best and most popular brand, here it is quite a lot of weight. 255 kilograms is considered a very big figure, and even powerful sports bikes weigh less. But he perfectly obeys the driver and even the greenest newcomer will have no problems with control. A relatively low landing height, only 80 centimeters, will allow you to lean your feet on the ground if necessary.

When buying your first bike, every motorcycle enthusiast is guided by his own considerations. There are thousands of models on the market today and it is very easy to get confused. And which bike should a beginner choose in the end?

It can be difficult for a novice motorcycle enthusiast to understand a huge number of parameters, evaluate the operation of the engine and clutch, but there are basic points that you must pay attention to when buying your first motorcycle.

For example, beginners are advised to choose bright bikes so that they are clearly visible in the traffic. Do not forget about the price, because too expensive an advanced model may be useless under the control of a rider with little experience.

We'll talk more about which first motorcycle to buy for a beginner below.

Thousands of motorcycle models are currently on the market

Gender and height of the future owner

The dimensions of the motorcycle should be comfortable for the owner. If this is a girl, then it is better to look after a small, light model. The height of the bike is also important: the rider should easily place both feet on the ground while sitting behind the wheel. With regard to landing, in no case should you buy a motorcycle that is very uncomfortable to sit on: your back and arms should not be tense.

Cubature

Cubature is the engine displacement. Accordingly, the smaller it is, the more intensively the motor has to work to achieve specific speed or acceleration indicators. But at the same time, the larger the engine displacement, the more fuel it needs to operate. There are models with an engine capacity of 2000 cubic meters, but it is better for beginners to limit themselves to 400-600.

A beginner rider needs to remember the main rule: the more cubic capacity, the worse it forgives mistakes on the road.

250 cubes

Motorcycles with this engine size are usually representatives of the budget segment. A huge number of models from Chinese manufacturers captivate with affordability and simplicity, but sometimes disappoint with their low reliability and build quality.

The dimensions of the motorcycle should be convenient for its owner

The most common motors are 165FMM, 166FMM, 167FMM, 169FMM and 170FMM. All are air-cooled with two valves per cylinder. Such engines were installed in many models of the Japanese car industry in the 80s and 90s. They are resistant to overheating and have a long service life if the oil is changed in a timely manner. If you want more dynamics, then you can search the 170MMF market, but it will cost more.

"Chekushki", as motorcycles with such a cubic capacity are also called, otherwise have the same filling: a telescopic fork, a 5-speed gearbox and disc brakes.

400 cubes

A 400cc motorcycle for a beginner is considered the best option. Acceleration from such an engine will be sufficient, and good handling will not let you down at a difficult moment. These bikes can usually reach speeds of up to 200 km / h without difficulty, so it is important to be careful, especially at first.

600 cubes

With such a cubic capacity "serious devices" are coming. Everything above is difficult to compare with each other - the ability of a motorcyclist is much more important here. These bikes accelerate to 100 km / h in an average of 3 seconds. 600cc motorcycle for a beginner - not the best choice, especially considering that such bikes always have sharp brakes and traction, which can break the rear wheel from acceleration.

The best option for a beginner is a 400 cc motorcycle.

Specifications

It is also important to remember about such parameters as:

  • Engine power. Motorcycle engines can be rated at around 170 hp. Beginners are advised not to be greedy and stop at 35-50;
  • Motor type. There are two-stroke and four-stroke. The ideal option for a beginner is a two-stroke. It is simple, reliable and easy to maintain. The four-stroke is considered more environmentally friendly, but demanding on fuel quality. Plus, it's not as reliable;
  • Power reserve. This indicator depends on the capacity of the fuel tank and engine consumption;
  • Torque. In other words, the number of revolutions of the motor. The more there are, the faster the bike will accelerate;
  • Maximum speed. Beginners should be more careful when driving at high speed. Cross motorcycles on a flat road develop a speed of no more than 70 km / h, tourist bikes are capable of delivering around 130, and sport bikes can drive all 300;
  • Transmission. Mechanics or automatic. The first option allows you to better feel and control the bike. Automation is usually installed on bike models designed for long-distance travel;

Availability and simplicity captivate a huge number of models from Chinese manufacturers
  • Rear wheel drive. Can use gimbal, chain or toothed belt. The chain is easy to replace and inexpensive. The belt lasts a long time but needs regular cleaning. The cardan is unpretentious in maintenance, but rarely found in models for beginners;
  • Brakes. They can be mechanical, drum or disc. The mechanics are simple and reliable, inexpensive and often used in budget motorcycles. The drum brake system is resistant to dirt and water. Disc brakes can stop the bike at any speed. Also rear and front brake can be separate, or connected into one system;
  • Wheels. Their width and diameter determine the stability and speed of the motorcycle. For urban conditions, 12 ″ and 14 ″ wheels are suitable. Touring models are often equipped with 15-16 inch wheels. Sportbikes are usually set at 17-19ʺ.

Ease of operation

The simpler the bike is in its device, the better for a beginner. At first, a large number of various functions should not attract. It is much better to start with something simple yet reliable.

The cost

Buying an expensive bike is not wise. A used motorcycle or a model of the budget segment is quite suitable for the start. If it turns out that motorcycles are not quite what you like, the budget will not suffer much. In addition, if it turns out that life without a motorcycle can no longer be imagined, then selling an inexpensive bike and changing to something more serious will not be difficult. A budget motorcycle for a beginner is not always a used technique, because now there are enough inexpensive models from different manufacturers on the market.

The budget segment model is quite suitable for a start

What class of motorcycle is preferable for a beginner?

Classics

To understand which motorcycle to choose for a newbie for the city, attention should be paid to the most versatile class of motorcycles. A straight fit, proven design and ease of maintenance - a classic motorcycle for a beginner is just the right thing. In addition, outwardly, the bike may resemble a chopper, only the rider's position is not so imposing.

An urban road bike for a beginner is usually not designed for high-speed riding and is easy to maintain.

Cruisers

Upright fit and low seat, as well as considerable weight and a large number of chrome elements. These bikes are not designed for high-speed riding, but allow you to comfortably enjoy riding on flat roads. A motorcycle cruiser for a beginner is considered the most preferred option.

Simple bikes are recommended for beginners

Sportbikes

Recognizable in the stream thanks to a plastic fairing and a loud enough high-speed engine. They have crazy dynamics with low weight. High power and controllability allow for high speed in road circuit motorcycle racing. Embryo seating is also a feature of the sportbike. Which cross-country motorcycle is better for a beginner to buy is not an easy question, because most representatives of this class are quite difficult to control, and in unskillful hands they will cause danger on the road.

Nakeda

A motorcycle without plastic trim plates, fairings, or windshield.

Turers

This is the name given to bikes specially designed for long distance riding. Roomy fuel tank, comfortable fit, impressive dimensions. Here, comfort is given priority, and handling fades into the background.

They can be equipped with airbags, air conditioners and radio tape recorders.

Enduro

Motorcycles designed for off-road driving. They have good cross-country ability, maintainable and lightweight bikes.

Sportbikes are powerful and responsive

Motards

The same enduro, but equipped with 17-inch wheels, powerful braking system and suspension. Suitable for both off-road and asphalt driving.

Before going anywhere on a motorcycle, a beginner rider should be proficient in some basic things. Two-wheeled vehicles need proper maintenance as much as a car. What should a beginner know about motorcycles before purchasing their first iron horse?

  • It is very important not to forget to change the engine oil in a timely manner. According to the rules, this is required to be done every 5-6 thousand kilometers. If the bike is equipped with a high-speed engine, then the lubricant is changed every 3 thousand.
  • For beginners, it is better to consider that injection motorcycles are easier to maintain. The carburetor requires more fine tuning, so at first it is better to entrust the care of such a fuel system to a professional.
  • As for the brakes, it is quite enough to change the brake fluid once a year. It is better not to save on it, because the safety of both the motorcyclist and other road users directly depends on the quality of braking.
  • The chain transmission is considered the most difficult to maintain, but it is also inexpensive. The chain is lubricated every 500-1000 kilometers, and replaced every 12000. The cardan drive does not require much attention, but if you completely forget about changing the oil in the gearbox and do not change the anthers, then such a transmission will come out very soon.

Two-wheeled vehicles need proper maintenance

The sound from the exhaust pipe is more like a scooter than a sports bike, so it's unlikely to dominate the track.

Yamaha YZF1000 Thunderace

Famous Japanese sports bike, produced from 1996 to 2001. Maximum engine power - 145 HP at 8500 rpm, volume - 1000 cubic meters. The speed limit is 264 km / h.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

Few have not heard of this bike. It has been produced since 2004 to the present. It is equipped with a 1000 cc engine and 175 hp. at 11,700 rpm. This sport bike is not the best choice for a beginner.

Suzuki GSF 400 Bandit

A classic model that was produced from 1989 to 1997. Engine power - 59 HP at 12,000 rpm. A very popular bike in Russia due to its low cost. A great option for a beginner rider.

* Review of the best according to the editorial site. About selection criteria. This material is subjective and does not constitute advertising and does not serve as a purchase guide. Before buying, you need to consult with a specialist.

Motorcycles are an alternative type of vehicle, characterized by increased maneuverability, small dimensions (relative to cars), good power parameters in terms of their own curb weight. Despite the fact that in Russia, motor transport is not as well developed as, say, in the USA or Japan, they love it, they talk about it and periodically on the streets of large cities you can find road bikes, enduros and even famous choppers that came out of legends straight from the last century ...

Due to the abundance of bike manufacturers and models on the market today, Expertology online magazine invites you to familiarize yourself with the rating of the best motorcycles in six categories, selected on the basis of double evaluation by experts and consumers.

How to choose a motorcycle

The choice of a motorcycle from a visual design point of view largely depends on the preferences of the consumer and the purpose for which it is purchased. However, in a general technical sense, there is a set of standard characteristics and aspects that need to be known and taken into account. Therefore, when choosing a motorcycle on your own, Expertology magazine recommends taking into account the following parameters:

Engine power. One of the main indicators of any vehicle, affecting both the characteristics of the movement and its cost. The power of the engine determines how quickly the motorcycle will pick up speed (accelerate), how high its maximum speed, as well as the predisposition to driving through sections with a difference in altitude. Now about the recommendations:

    If you are riding on rough terrain or sand, then motorcycles with 6-20 hp motors are a good choice. with., possessing sufficient maneuverability and not demanding in terms of the budget;

    Prioritized commuting to work within the city? Pay attention to models with a capacity of 10-20 liters. with., maneuverable in the flow and economical in the content;

    For fast and agile city trips when time is of the essence, opt for 20-45 hp motorcycles. from.;

    For long-distance travel, which requires a combination of speed, maneuverability and reliability, motors with a power of 50-95 hp are chosen;

    Fans of superbikes and high speeds should pay attention to the lineup from 100 hp. and higher.

Engine capacity... An equally important aspect that affects the power, the accompanying acceleration characteristics and fuel consumption. In this case, we can give the following recommendations:

    when driving quietly on city roads with a volume of 100-150 cubic meters. cm will be enough;

    for the possibility of going off-road (fishing, hunting, camping), depending on the "neglect" of the area, the engine volume indicator can vary within 150-250 cubic meters. cm;

    if the prospect of using a motorcycle pushes you for a vigorous ride with decent acceleration, as well as maneuvering in heavy traffic, we recommend choosing models with an indicator between 250 and 350 cc. cm;

    in all other cases, when in the first place - travel on the autobahns, highways and good intercity roads, as well as professional performances on decent racing series, you should pay attention to motorcycles from 400 cc. cm.

Speed \u200b\u200bindicators.Focusing on this parameter is important if travel time (that is, mobility) plays an important role for you. Here, as in the previous paragraphs, all motorcycles can be divided into several categories:

    low-power, economical and measured in terms of speed models, characterized by low fuel consumption at the expense of agility. The limit of such motorcycles is considered to be 90-100 km / h, and the average is 60 km / h;

    motorcycles for driving on public roads connecting settlements with each other. A typical picture for Russia and, as a result, the most popular segment for buyers. The maximum speed of these motorcycles can reach 150-180 km / h, which is a very good result;

    autobahn conquerors, very powerful and fuel-hungry bikes designed for Autobahn trips. The capabilities of such specimens go far beyond 250 km / h, which allows owners to save time when traveling.

engine's type... Currently, electric motors are being actively integrated into the design of motorcycles, however, the stability of their operation, as well as the consumption of the charge, leaves much to be desired and is not acceptable for operating conditions in Russia. Largely because of this, the only engine options are still two-stroke and four-stroke.

    two-stroke engines are distinguished by a more primitive design, ease of maintenance and repair, however, they can in no way be inferior in power to some categories of four-stroke engines. They are a kind of "workhorses", which are not shameful to use for ancillary business, travel short distances around the city, as well as for fishing or hunting.

    four-stroke engines are structurally complex, but they have more stable traction indicators, can offer users a larger internal volume and an overall increase in technical characteristics. Motorcycles with such engines will be ideal for both short-term trips around the city and for long trips over long distances.

Cooling... Another important characteristic of the engine is the type of cooling. According to the canons of technical achievements, it can be airy and oily. The first is suitable for low-power motorcycles, the operation of which is limited to short trips. For such a short time, engine components do not have time to heat up to critical levels. In the case of more powerful power units, oil cooling is used, based on the circulation of fluid in a closed system. In this case, the excess heat is actively removed by the oil, which simultaneously performs the lubricating function.

Gearbox (transmission)... Tips on this parameter will be for informational purposes, with a reference to emotions from use.

    manual transmission is an option for drive enthusiasts who are used to getting maximum responsiveness from technology. This version of the design allows you to make sharp jerks from the start and make quick accelerations, but requires timely gear changes in order to prevent overheating of the power plant. Mechanics are economical, durable, and much cheaper to repair than automatic transmissions or variators.

    automatic transmission - "light" option for people who prefer practicality and ease of control. There is no need to be distracted by gear shifting: the gearbox controls the revs by increasing or decreasing them in automatic mode. Ideal when frequent travel is required, however, due to the introduction of an aggregate repair system, it is more expensive to maintain and wasteful in terms of fuel consumption.

Motorcycle weight... Many users do not pay due attention to this characteristic, making this or that choice on an intuitive level. In general, the degree of vehicle stability on the road, as well as maneuverability and controllability, depends on the mass.

    if you want to buy a bike for off-road track riding and performing tricks, then it makes sense to take a closer look at lightweight models, the weight of which does not exceed 50-70 kg;

    for city maneuvering, there is no need to take a motorcycle that is too light, as its stability in the stream will be unstable. The best option here would be a choice in the range of 90-120 kg, which is convenient to fill on its side, and it is not difficult to stabilize during demolition.

    on long trips to high speeds the required minimum weight will be 200 kg. With these indicators, the minimum required downforce is achieved, ensuring the stability of the bike on the track.

Suspension type... The aspect responsible for the comfort of travel on various road terrain. The following types of suspensions are distinguished according to the standard classification:

    spring Strut - Attaches to the rear of the frame for high rigidity. It behaves very badly on rough roads, which is why it does not accept off-road driving (or "killed" domestic directions). But it will be an excellent option for driving on smooth routes with minimal coating defects.

    monoshock - a pendulum-type element fixed to the rear of the frame in a position close to horizontal. Effectively dampens longitudinal vibrations due to a large compression amplitude, making it perfect for jumping, driving on rough terrain and in small cities with an abundance of unpaved roads.

    telescopic vibration damper - the working cylinders of this type of suspension are located on the front fork, compensating for the unevenness of the road surface by compressing or stretching in the appropriate direction. It has a large power reserve, and therefore is a universal solution for driving on city roads as well as for traveling off-road.

Best sports bikes

More than three years later, experts have finally been able to interpret the morals of this sport bike, which left a mixed impression when it debuted on the global market in 2015. In fact, its strongest features were the immensely cool combination of aggressive looks, power and design parameters that allowed the model to accelerate to over 350 kilometers per hour. Actually, the four-cylinder in-line engine, the volume of which is 998 cubic centimeters, is responsible for ensuring such results. Accordingly, the torque on the shaft reaches 165 Nm, while the power is an impressive 310 horsepower.

A set of two types of suspensions is responsible for the dynamics of movements in the Kawasaki Ninja H2R: a telescopic fork with a travel of 120 millimeters in the front, and a swingarm with a monoshock and a travel of 135 millimeters at the rear. Actually, from this fact it already becomes clear that the bike is intended exclusively for driving on flat tracks. And, more precisely, for tracks, since rapid acceleration takes only a couple of seconds, and it is very difficult to move in such a mode even on the autobahns.

Advantages

  • perfectly adjusted down forces and selected weight of the structure, which positively affect handling;
  • an abundance of technological innovations;
  • high limit of maximum speed;
  • very catchy appearance;
  • power of 310 horsepower.

disadvantages

  • extremely high cost (from 4 million rubles).

Undoubtedly, an icon of the Italian motorcycle industry, which simply could not pass by the rating of the best sports bikes on the planet. The Ducati Panigale V4 RED is a very capricious and showy looking bike with 214 horsepower. This figure, coupled with 124 Nm of torque, is provided by a V-shaped four-cylinder engine with a volume of 1214 cubic centimeters. An electronic injector control system is responsible for the accuracy in terms of fuel injection into the combustion chambers, the setting of which allows you to add a few more "horses" to the output power.

The main feature of the Ducati Panigale V4 RED is its lightweight body construction using a completely new aluminum alloy frame. It provides excellent downforce as well as lightening the bike, which ultimately results in a noticeable improvement in handling, especially in curve entry criteria. Needless to say that this motorcycle is exclusively a track bike, and it is at least unreasonable to ride it into the city? Very expensive to maintain, it costs almost the same money as a good Korean crossover, while giving much more emotion, drive and adrenaline. This is a great purchase option for those who want to have a very playful "toy" for occasional runs on the track.

Advantages

  • high power and torque;
  • relatively acceptable cost;
  • a lightweight motorcycle design for better handling;
  • enchanting design, in the spirit of Ducati;
  • the possibility of fine-tuning and increasing technical characteristics by adjusting the operation of electrical circuits.

disadvantages

  • not found.

A kind of style icon among sport bikes from the 2000s, the overall contribution to the segment is hard to overestimate. The Japanese from the legendary corporation almost completely redesigned the appearance of the Yamaha YZF-R1M (sample of 2012), making it as unlike the older motorcycles of the series as possible. Like most of its competitors at the time, the bike received a 998cc four-cylinder engine capable of delivering up to 182 horsepower at 115 Nm of torque. Considering the light weight of the constructive solution (only 170 kilograms), the pilot can easily accelerate to 300 kilometers per hour, without experiencing any discomfort due to the smooth gear shifting.

However, such subtleties had little effect on the overall ergonomics. The Yamaha YZF-R1M's track fit is felt in everything, right down to the stiff suspension, which makes you feel literally every bump in the road. As for the features, the high seating position, which is atypical for products of this segment, stands out from the whole structure of the bike. With this configuration, the driver has additional control over maneuvers in order to accurately navigate curves and set the trajectory. This is a very good sports bike and has earned a high place in the ranking of the best.

Advantages

  • impudent appearance;
  • high seating position, which increases the handling of the bike;
  • the ability to accelerate up to 300 kilometers per hour;
  • low, relative to competitors, price.

disadvantages

  • very rigid suspension.

An Italian superbike grandee designed with serious claims to be the leader in the sport track category. Aprilia RSV4 RF is one of the few contenders, the appearance of which, along with painting, was initially sharpened for performances on the track, since everything is designed according to the canons of the elite series (with the exception of sponsor logos). From a purely technical point of view, the bike is well ahead of the Yamaha YZF-R1M rival, producing all 200 horsepower for the same engine displacement (999.4 cubic centimeters). But the torque remains unchanged: 115 Nm at 10,500 rpm is enough to provide instant acceleration from a standstill.

It is noteworthy that the curb weight of the Aprilia RSV4 RF is 204 kilograms, while the fuel tank is designed to fill 18.5 liters of fuel. The suspension is stiff, with short travels (120 and 130 millimeters front and rear), which ensures no vertical swing losses and good downforce (coupled with a streamlined aluminum body). The only pity is that such a bike is very expensive, which is why it occupies not the highest, but a worthy place in the ranking of the best.

Advantages

  • power equal to 201 horsepower;
  • low weight even in running order;
  • original body paint, tailored for sports;
  • good comfort conditions even with a stiff suspension.

disadvantages

  • high price.

An enchanting version of the 2017 track superbike, made at the world famous Varese factory. The main goal of the MV Agusta F4 RR RC was dictated by the need to improve the obsolete motorcycles that took part in the WSBK World Championships. The engineers were faced with the task of creating a motorcycle, at least not inferior in technical terms to competitors such as Yamaha, Ducati, Honda and Suzuki, with which they, by the way, coped 100%. The finished sample received 212 horsepower with an engine volume of 1000 cubic meters.

As for other characteristics, the largest number of MV Agusta F4 RR RC triggers is observed in the plane of feelings and sensations. The vast majority of motorcycle enthusiasts admit that this model is the most beautiful at this stage in the development of the sports motorcycle industry. Streamlined forms, great design, competent painting and a bunch of scattered little things can attract not only photos from a good angle, but also live, which is increasingly becoming a rarity for ordinary Japanese variations (except, perhaps, Kawasaki Ninja).

Advantages

  • great design, recognized as the benchmark at this stage in the development of the sports bike segment;
  • 212-horsepower engine with a volume of 1000 cubic meters;
  • spot improvements that made a striking difference between the bike and previous models in the series.

disadvantages

  • high price.

Honda CBR 1000 RR / RA Fireblade

A typical Honda representative with distinctive styling cues borrowed from previous CBR models. It has a fairly small power reserve (143 forces at 1000 cubic meters of volume), which makes it the most modest representative in the technical part of its kind. Nevertheless, the torque remains at the level of competitors: 114 Nm allow for a sharp start with a quick acceleration. However, all these nuances are compensated for by the very low weight of the motorcycle - in the curb condition it weighs only 196 kilograms, thanks to which it responds very briskly to the "offer" to accelerate at the cutoff.

If we disregard the technical parameters, then the attention is entirely focused on the constructive moments. Namely, on structural parts that are rather massive in appearance, such as an exhaust pipe. The second important nuance concerns the noticeable both in landing and visually the seat and rear wing lift. It looks very stylish and in the spirit of the Honda company, but it also affects the comfort and handling of the motorcycle when entering curves. At the same time, the travel of the rear lever fork with a gas shock absorber is 138.2 mm, which is slightly higher than that of competitors in the category. In general, the Honda CBR 1000 RR / RA Fireblade is a very solid bike with a simple and understandable "character", the cost of which is quite consistent with the technical side of the estimate.

Advantages

  • exterior in the spirit of the Honda company;
  • lightweight design, capable of unleashing the potential of a low-power model;
  • very reliable components and assemblies;
  • comfortable fit and improved handling.

disadvantages

  • low engine power (143 hp) with a large volume (1000 cubic centimeters).

The motobike, which was launched in 2012, became the most anticipated project of that season. The main heap of hopes was pinned on a lot of external changes, hotly expected by fans of Japanese grand suzuki... But, to the great regret of the crowd, the miracle did not happen: prudent manufacturers focused on modernizing the mechanical (or, in a general sense, power) part. The pistons of the four-cylinder engine were replaced with new ones, lighter (by almost 11%), but with the same working resource reserve. The volume of the engine, in general, remained unchanged - 999 cubic centimeters gave 182 horsepower and 117 Nm of torque. Compared to the leader of the rating, Kawasaki Ninja H2R - indicators are extremely ineffective.

However, the Suzuki GSX-R 1000 heralded that rare type of sports bike that has found its way around the track and beyond. Good dynamic qualities allow those few people from the people to travel without problems along flat streets without serious defects in the roadway. In fairness, it should be noted that this model made a serious contribution to further development Suzuki sportbikes, representing the first iteration of a true track monster.

Advantages

  • a number of pinpoint improvements to the chassis and mechanical parts of the bike;
  • the ability to use as a motorcycle for movement on highways and highways;
  • good handling;
  • relatively low cost;
  • high degree of reliability of the constituent elements.

disadvantages

  • low speed indicators with a solid engine displacement and, accordingly, low efficiency.

Best Touring Motorcycles

The BMW K 1600 GTL is objectively the best motorcycle for touring travel, presented in this rating both in terms of technical indicators and other aspects of assessment. The model successfully combines not the largest curb weight (360 kilograms) and a six-cylinder engine that works to its limits (but retains its resource for a long time). With 1649 cubic centimeters of volume, its power is 160 horsepower, and torque reaches 175 Nm at 5250 shaft revolutions per minute.

Due to its belonging to a large automobile (and nominally this is so) concern, the K 1600 GTL enlisted the support of some colossal volume of proprietary technologies, which are not so easy to list on the fly. The most obvious ones are:

  1. three driving modes: Dynamic, Rain and Road;
  2. advanced ABS system (anti-lock brakes);
  3. track control;
  4. dynamic tire pressure monitoring system;
  5. cruise control;
  6. electronic suspension adjustment.

All this and much more makes the model special within the segment, and even the sky-high price tag in such a situation looks like something self-evident.

Advantages

  • the best set of technical characteristics;
  • original design;
  • a huge supply of working resources - you can feel belonging to a premium German concern;
  • carefully designed ergonomic part;
  • an abundance of technological solutions integrated into the motorcycle systems.

disadvantages

  • not found.

A classic tourer from the Japanese company Honda, ranked due to its unwavering tradition and constant renewal lineup... The GL1800 represents the pinnacle of the Gold Wing family, crowning it with a sophisticated and unchanged seating system with well-matched lumbar support, chic design in all aspects, and some crazy torque figures along with all the technical characteristics.

The power of the engine with a volume of 1832 cc is 118 horsepower, which allows the 421-kilogram colossus to accelerate to 200 kilometers per hour. At the same time, it is significant that the torque is 167 Nm, giving the potential for a sharp jerk from the start. In general, looking at the technical part, one often gets the impression that the Gold Wing (GL1800 AirBag + Navi) has the hidden features of a sports bike - at least the corresponding Honda lineup certainly took place among the ideological inspirers of corporate engineers. One way or another, but this motorcycle turned out to be of very high quality and successful, which naturally reflected in the sales figures. And the price, let's be honest, is completely conducive to making a purchase.

Advantages

  • very high torque (167 Nm);
  • thoughtful comfort elements, in particular, very comfortable back supports for the driver and passenger;
  • good peak speed for a "heavyweight" - 200 km / h;
  • nice design.

disadvantages

  • not found.

As always beautiful and as always very dangerous for competitors, the world famous manufacturer of lighters and motorcycles takes an honorable third place in the ranking of the best touring bikes. Street Glide is the lightweight version of the electric motorcycle lineup Harley davidson Electra Glide, which has inherited all the characteristic features of a real "Harley", and in terms of technical indicators, has retained its original appearance. In fact, all the difference between the "light" and the standard version lies in the relocation to the "new" old naturally aspirated TwinCam 103 engine, which has 87 horsepower and 139 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm. A very dubious update, which, nevertheless, pushes the model back to the classics even more than the full-fledged Electra system.

The second important change was the rejection of the central wardrobe trunk, because of which the seat also acquires a more classic (and even simpler) look, and the passenger loses additional speakers of the audio system and a solid support under the back. The driver's seat has also undergone a number of simplifications, but they do not in the least affect the comfort and generally do not carry any more or less semantic load. Ultimately, Street Glide is seen not so much as a continuation or ideological follower of the series, as a model designed to raise unnecessary noise and reference the classic canons. This is the same Harley Davidson - a heavy 372-kilogram road warrior, which is worth buying at least to join the legendary brand cult.

Advantages

  • comfortable seating position for both driver and passenger;
  • improved handling (and the same minimum headroom);
  • appearance in the spirit of the company Harley Davidson;
  • balanced power characteristics with sufficient torque.

disadvantages

  • in fact, a slightly modified "repeat" of the Electra Glide tourer.

Japanese brand Kawasaki has an almost manic urge to squeeze the top speed out of its own bikes. And the 1400 GTR tourer, quite famous in Russia, has become another confirmation of this phenomenon. Its weight (279 kilograms) cannot be compared with the Indian Roadmaster, however, positive trends in the efficient use of the engine resource are obvious even with such unequal indicators. The fact is that with a volume of 1352 cubic meters, the power of the four-cylinder engine is 155 horsepower, consistent with 136 Nm of torque. Therefore, the model, intended for conquering long distances, is quite capable of accelerating to 300 kilometers per hour, briskly picking up speed straight from the start.

Needless to say: externally, the KAWASAKI 1400 GTR is a slightly "fat" sports bike with an aggressive character, which adds comfort and does not lose any of its charge. Obviously, of all the contenders in this category, it least of all resembles a traditional roadster (or a tourer, whatever you like), but it is able to give a lot of positive emotions from an unusual combination of sports and moderate road superiority.

Advantages

  • excellent characteristics of power and torque to engine displacement;
  • a truly sporty "charge" imprinted on technical parameters bike;
  • improved comfort with redesigned chassis and seat fit
  • stylish appearance inspired by Kawasaki superbikes.

disadvantages

  • is not a "clean" road bike.

One of the flagship "chariots" of a little-known Russian manufacturer Indian, capable of impressing the audience of motorists with its authentic appearance and characteristics along with original solutions, and even an exorbitantly high price. Despite the real massiveness and weight, the Roadmaster is a very comfortable and manageable bike, the weight of which, with and without equipment, is 630 and 421 kilograms, respectively. It is no wonder that with an engine volume of 1811 cubic centimeters, the power is only 74 horsepower - in real terms, speed is completely absent here. Nevertheless, when driving on highways, the drive and tranquility from the management creates a wild quintessence of the feeling that there is agility in this "hardware", and quite big.

Technological solutions in terms of appearance and ergonomics in the Indian Roadmaster are also not so simple. The bike is clearly trying to resemble models from 40 or 50 years ago, which is achieved by using the same materials of construction as half a century ago. The dashboard (with the exception of the electronic window of readings from the on-board sensors), and with it all the organizers are imbued with the spirit of antiquity. So much so that, getting behind the wheel, you literally feel the spirit of the old era. And the only reminder of life at the beginning of the 21st century is the engine start button, placed on a trigger with a different set of buttons.

Advantages

  • stunning appearance, taken out of the context of half a century ago;
  • control buttons (autostart, alarm, etc.) are placed on the steering wheel;
  • comfort due to a comfortable fit and chassis design;
  • extremely reliable system as well as high-quality selection of materials.

disadvantages

  • very heavy motorcycle (630 kilograms in running order);
  • high price (over 3 million rubles);
  • "Gluttonous" 74-horsepower engine.

The best sports and touring motorcycles

This is a pure sports tourer and clearly outperforms the Kawasaki ZZR1400 in terms of belonging. In fact, the Yamaha FJR1300A does not present any revelations, remaining faithful to the classic structure of sports bike touring bikes - it is a charged exterior with slightly enlarged shapes and a modified chassis to improve ride comfort.

As for the technical characteristics of the motorcycle, the first and most important thing to understand: the combination of power (140 horsepower) and torque (136 Nm) gives a very solid gain both in terms of speed and acceleration parameters. According to experts, acceleration to one hundred meters takes no more than 3 seconds, while the maximum speed is limited to 260 kilometers per hour, which is an extremely good result for a tourer. The last thing worth noting (and that directly affects speed performance) is the curb weight. For such a fast bike, it is 290 kilograms, despite the fact that the volume of the fuel tank is 25 liters (and takes on about 40 kilograms of weight when fully refueled).

Advantages

  • continuous improvement of the implemented systems and the integration of new ones;
  • mass, leading to increased controllability and sufficient to provide the required downforce;
  • the possibility of instant acceleration due to high torque;
  • optimal set of technical parameters;
  • sporty product-specific design yamaha.

disadvantages

  • not found.

The ideological successor to the legendary Hayabusa model, the Kawasaki ZZR1400 turned out to be quite extraordinary. The announcement that this bike will be the flagship of the sports touring series was met with bewilderment from both fans of the company's products and interested observers. With an engine displacement of 1,400 cubic centimeters, the model produced an impressive 200 horsepower and showed a torque that went under a hundred already at 2,000 rpm. Such indicators allowed the ZZR1400 to accelerate to 320 kilometers per hour (according to the assurances of experts, the maximum recorded speed is even higher), after which a completely reasonable question arose: why is it not a hyperbike?

The answer to the mystery was obvious and lay in the plane of the manufacturer's desire to take an even more dominant position in the market. Thus, what was supposed to be classified as a motorcycle with the prefix "hyper", in an unexpected way, formally came to be called a sports tourer. However, consumers cannot be fooled: characteristic aggressive traits, sharpening for maximum opportunities and fast driving cannot be hidden outside the framework of conventions.

Advantages

  • aggressive design, typical for Kawasaki products;
  • peak speed above 320 kilometers per hour;
  • ideological successor of the famous Hayabusa;
  • excellent engine performance.

disadvantages

  • nominally not a tourist motorcycle.

Best motocross bikes

According to numerous descriptions of people, one way or another connected with the theme of the motorcycle industry, the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S is a typical representative of touring enduro, standing on the border between heavy bikes like the BMW R1200GS Adventure and SUVs like the Ducati Multistrada. It is not suitable for the first in terms of technical parameters, and for the second - in terms of "spirit", or, if you will, in terms of pronounced off-road qualities.

The Super Adventure S engine "migrated" here straight from the 1290 Super Duke R (the most famous streetfighter even in Russian motorcycle enthusiasts circles), but it went through a number of minor changes that cut the power down to an annoying 180 horsepower. But it acquired stability in operation at low and medium speeds, which is required from the motor of an avid crossover. For off-road battles, even a separate operating mode was introduced here, called the hackneyed and well-known word "off-road". When driving at such settings, the suspension becomes less responsive, the throttle grip loses its responsiveness for the sake of smooth gas supply, and the stabilizers begin to "understand" that under the wheels is not hard asphalt, but loose (sometimes even very) soil. In general, the bike adapts perfectly to off-road conditions, plays well on the driving experience, and also does not forget to delight buyers with its appearance. Solid five and first place in the ranking.

Advantages

  • pronounced off-road qualities, the presence of driving settings in the "off-road" mode;
  • nice design;
  • adaptive suspension settings for road conditions;
  • good technical characteristics, reliable engine.

The very "jovial" cross-country motorcycle Yamaha YZ450F, the early prototypes of which are legendary not only because of the good results at the world championships, but also due to being included in the custom modifications of the GTA game, did not reach the leading line Vice city... The motorcycle is equipped with a 450 cc engine with a capacity of 53 horsepower, which, with a curb weight of about 110 kilograms, allows you to pick up speed on the straight lines without any problems and respond impeccably to the driver's actions.

Perhaps the most important feature of the Yamaha YZ450F is its suspension system, which has a whopping 310 millimeters of travel. In particular, thanks to it, damping from uneven paths occurs and it is she who allows you to get out of the most difficult sections of off-road terrain. As additional indirect advantages, a reinforced aluminum frame with a double-sided beam can be distinguished, as well as a more thrifty fuel tank, the useful volume of which is 7.5 liters. Considering the low cost of the motorcycle, both on the secondary market and from official dealers, we get an ideal model with legendary roots and the absolute minimum of any minor flaws.

Advantages

  • increased volume of the fuel tank (compared to competitors);
  • long suspension travel (310 millimeters at the rear and front);
  • optimal technical performance;
  • low price for secondary market and at dealers;
  • lightweight construction.

The second Kawasaki in the category, designed to compete in the professional series of motocross competitions in the older series. It weighs 105 kilograms, which, with the declared 54 horsepower, gives a noticeable plus to handling and a good boost both at a break from the start and in the course of overcoming the distance. True, according to experts, maintenance of a motorcycle after purchase by ordinary users "from the people" requires quite good financial investments, since a single-cylinder engine, working at the limit of its capabilities, provokes an increased loss of resource by individual structural parts.

In addition to the obvious powertrain upgrade, the Kawasaki KX450F has received a good suspension upgrade. For example, a Showa SFF-Air TAC fork with three pneumatic chambers and separate operation of the "feathers" for compression (22 adjustable positions) and rebound (20 positions) was used as suspension elements on the front wheel. Symmetrically, on the rear wheel, work on the perception of road surface irregularities is carried out by a monoshock from the same Showa, which has 4 adjustable positions for fast compression, and another 19 for slow ones. All the features of the cross-bike are not limited to this, especially since the number of technological solutions for each node is simply off scale. However, it will not be possible to tell about all of them within the framework of a brief overview - just know that this motorcycle is one of the best of its kind.

Advantages

  • a motocross bike designed for professional performance;
  • very lightweight design, providing responsive handling of the model;
  • a powerful 450 cc engine providing excellent speed and acceleration performance;
  • as always, chic appearance.

disadvantages

  • there is a rapid wear of engine components and chassis.

Model motocross motorcycle sample of 2013, which has undergone many proprietary modifications during the entire production period. Compared to previous versions of bikes in this category, the Honda CRF 450 R received a point reinforcement of the alloy frame structure, which hardly affected the weight indicators. The dry weight (without fuel in the 6.2-liter tank) was 110.2 kilograms, which had a positive effect both on the ease of control even on difficult terrain, and on ensuring sufficient downforce when passing (albeit rare) straight sections.

As for the engine, unlike the same Kawasaki KX85-I model, an upgrade was carried out with the aim of increasing the working life of individual units. In particular, due to the weighting of the elements (for example, the AGC flywheel, increased with an increase in mass by 11%). In general, in the Honda CRF 450 R, you directly feel the sharpening to increase quality characteristics for the sake of lower maintenance costs. This is not bad, given that these indicators are important to most consumers (we are not talking about professional athletes). Be that as it may, the motorcycle is still expensive, and the money allegedly "saved" on maintenance goes straight to the initial purchase.

Advantages

  • study of the motorcycle to increase the working life of individual units and mechanisms;
  • low weight, which guarantees good handling of the bike on all sections of the track;
  • increased safety by strengthening the frame structure with additional bridges (connecting);
  • high-quality shock absorbers and long suspension travel.

disadvantages

  • high price.

One of two Kawasaki representatives in a category designed to compete in professional motocross competitions in the junior series. The Kawasaki KX85-I has a 85cc single-cylinder two-stroke engine, which is barely enough to generate 29 horsepower. With a weight of 68.5 kilograms, it allows you to reach speeds of up to 115 kilometers per hour, which in the conditions of motocross off-road competitions is a very acceptable result (naturally, for the class of subcompact motors).

A notable feature of the Kawasaki KX85-I is the UNI-TRAK adjustable mono rod, which is a rear suspension element. According to the driver's needs, it can be adjusted in 4 positions for compression and 16 positions for unclamping. In total, the travel of this suspension is 275 millimeters, allowing you to compensate for sudden changes in height when driving off-road. Technically, any consumer can afford this bike: the cost in the region of 3.5 thousand dollars does not look like something out of the ordinary among the “millionaires” presented in the rating. It is actively recommended to be acquired by those who want to make a broad step from amateurs to the category of professionals.

Advantages

  • low price;
  • pleasant appearance;
  • customizable suspension (front telescopic fork and rear monoshock with 275 mm travel);
  • balanced ratio of parameters of mass, power and speed;
  • imprisonment for professional competitions.

disadvantages

  • for its performance and direction of operation - not identified.

The best classic (road) motorcycles

The leader in the classic motorcycle category is the bright and charismatic model produced by the Italian company Ducati, which has gained fame as one of the most balanced bikes. premium segment... The V-shaped twin-cylinder Diavel Carbon engine has a volume of 1198 cc, at which it produces 162 horses (at 9500 rpm) and 130.5 Nm of torque (at 8000 rpm).

The "cannon" appearance of the motorcycle is the merit of the company's many years of production experience, coupled with the genius of individual engineers who worked on the concepts of the future vehicle. Stylish combination of black (carbon fiber lining) and red / silver in a number of elements only emphasize the aggressiveness and uncompromising character of the bike on the road. It is comfortable (despite the suspension travel limited to 120 millimeters), agile, light (234 kilograms in curb condition) and very expensive, which sounds like the most flattering complement in the context of the Ducati line of bikes.

Advantages

  • enchanting design, due to the combination of the spirit of colors, the presence of carbon overlays and emphasizing the protruding parts of the space frame;
  • spacious fuel tank (17 liters);
  • peak speed exceeds 300 kilometers per hour;
  • the weight is almost comparable to the results of superbikes;
  • high power from a modernized but slightly outdated two-cylinder engine;
  • optimal combination of price and quality.

disadvantages

The legendary cruiser of the Yamaha motorcycle line, the release of which began back in 1985, is the personification of a road idyll, sung and more than once voiced by consumers in their brightest desires. According to most experts, the VMAX is the undisputed king of the road, a real "street bike", the power of the 1200 cc engine of which was (and is) 140 horsepower. Considering a curb weight of 263 kilograms, a peak speed of 260 kilometers per hour is a very good result, but all these figures are very secondary in the context of this motorcycle.

The first roles in the Yamaha VMAX have always been and will be a component of the sensation of owning this technique, if you like - the feeling of steering and maneuvering in city traffic, mixed with unlimited freedom when traveling on suburban highways. All this is due to the exceptionally precise operation of the engine at low and high revs without dips in the middle, as well as the comfort of the installed seat, coupled with a rather stiff suspension (the travel of which in front and rear was 140 and 99 millimeters, respectively). The cost of such a motorcycle in modern realities has grown significantly over the past couple of years, putting most fans of the line in a difficult position between the desire to buy and a tight budget.

Advantages

  • design in the spirit of classic "road" motorcycles from the 80s;
  • a powerful engine that works well paired with 263 kilograms of bike weight;
  • high degree of reliability of all systems and assemblies;
  • comfort, despite a fairly stiff suspension with low travel.

disadvantages

  • the price has experienced a significant rise over the past few years.

The "brutal" MV Agusta 1090 is in many ways similar to the enchanting (unadorned) Ducati Diavel Carbon, presenting itself to consumers in almost the most favorable light within the road bike segment. The two most important advantages of the model - power and lightness - give, perhaps, the most reflexive combination among all competitors in the rating. 158 horsepower at 11,900 rpm can accelerate 200 kilograms of curb weight to 265 kilometers per hour. This is quite enough to ride on city roads or intercity highways, as they say, "with a breeze." Another plus for the MV Agusta Brutale 1090 is the volume of the fuel tank, designed to hold 23 liters of gasoline. When driving within reasonable limits (100-150 kilometers per hour), one full fill is enough for about 500 kilometers, which allows this bike to be classified as economical.

If we abstract from technical and near-technical nuances, some nuances will become visible, attributed to the individual characteristics of the bike and the corporate identity of the manufacturer. The fact is that the reason for a number of disputes in the circle of consumers was the inexpressive front part of the model, which did not get the windshield and the more "predatory" shape. In fact, this is the only drawback that can be included in the Brutale 1090's passive - in other aspects it is absolutely enchanting.

Advantages

  • dry weight (183 kilograms);
  • maximum speed in the region of 265 kilometers per hour;
  • capacious fuel tank (23 liters);
  • thoughtful design (apparently, with the exception of the frontal part);
  • comfort even with a "shackled" suspension.

disadvantages

  • the featureless front end of the bike is a taste to be reckoned with.

Highly beautiful motorcycle, made in the corporate spirit of Kawasaki and confidently taking its rightful place in the ranking of the best road bikes. Let's make a reservation right away: there were three prerequisites for entering the rating. First, it's worth noting the Z1000 R Edition 2018's commitment to an overall meager color scheme with very thin and perfectly appropriate bright lines. This "trick" operates exclusively within the Kawasaki line of bikes - other companies do it more deliberately and roughly (which also has its effect).

Secondly, the four-cylinder engine delivers 111Nm of torque and 142bhp, giving a good boost right from the start. And thirdly, the curb weight of the motorcycle is only 221 kilograms, of which about 30 are on the tank. From a purely practical point of view, the Kawasaki Z1000 R Edition 2018 is still entering the time of receiving an objective assessment from consumers, since its appearance on the market took place quite recently. However, the start of sales "from the spot" is impressive - even if not in Russia, the bike has already managed to bring its creators a million dollars around the world. And even if it's too early to talk about the future fate of the motorcycle, it still deserves an honorable place in the ranking of the best.

Advantages

  • highly recognizable design from Kawasaki;
  • optimal combination of price and quality;
  • optimal indicators of power and torque to the curb weight of the motorcycle, taking into account the engine volume of 1000 cubic meters;
  • high degree of reliability of the main components of the bike.

disadvantages

  • not fully formed opinion about the bike due to the recent release.

Another beautiful development of the Yamaha company, which has not reached the category of superbikes a little due to the equipment with a small-cubic (by the standards of the "major league") motor. Although in appearance, all the prerequisites for that exist: a very "evil" shape, which lacks only the fairings and a more massive front visor. The 779cc inline-four engine delivers 16.2 horsepower, which, along with 68 Nm of torque, has to accelerate 220 kilograms of curb weight. Hence the low speed indicators (relative to a number of competitors), and a more meek character when maneuvering in city traffic.

It is noteworthy that the last truly large-scale update of the Fazer 8 was made in 2013 - since then, engineers have only been improving the technology and components of the bike. It should be said that from the point of view of comfort, this model could be even better. The stiff suspension (130mm travel) coupled with a poorly designed seat does not cause discomfort when driving short distances, but on long trips can be a real problem for the driver (not to mention the passenger). However, the Fazer 8 is an important part of Yamaha's line of classic motorcycles, whose experience has allowed the company to create some truly enchanting models, even in the hyperbike class.

Advantages

  • very interesting design, bordering between enduro, classics and sports bikes;
  • obedient control, easy maneuvering in city traffic;
  • continuous improvement of systems and technologies by manufacturers;
  • optimal quality indicators.

disadvantages

  • not the best example in terms of engine efficiency;
  • comfort on long journeys raises questions.

At one time, the scrambler R nine T from BMW made a lot of noise, unexpectedly showing up for the announcement and purposefully - for the subsequent demonstration of possibilities along with the concept of appearance. To say that the community of avid motorcyclists was delighted is not to say a single word. A kind of "all-terrain vehicle", nominally road, for which, in principle, it does not matter where the asphalt ends and the dirt road begins, produced the effect of an exploding bomb, and this is what caused this. Combining the features of the classic style a la 80s and a number of modern solutions (such as a layout in the spirit of sports bikes), the scrambler "hooked" two segments of consumers at once: old school and young, rushing to the harsh nature of the new "chariot".

Without much pretense to modernity, the R nine T has a 110-horsepower twin-cylinder engine with boxer fuel injection that can accelerate to 200 kilometers per hour, capturing the 220-kilogram structure on a fascinating journey along winding country roads. Fuel consumption here ranges from 4.5 to 5.8 liters per 100 kilometers, which is a good result even when compared with competitive models. But this scrambler makes everything in the aggregate special - it is not possible to identify clearly weak points here and at this stage.

Advantages

  • the optimum ratio of price and quality;
  • engine with good working life;

    expressive bass exhaust from a double muffler from Akarpovic;

  • cool integration of two styles, working to attract consumers of different generations;
  • comfort and safety.

disadvantages

  • not found.

Grace and amazing strength in a compact body is the most appropriate definition for the Honda CB 1000 RA motorcycle with an integrated ABS system. On board the 2.1-meter model, a compact 1000 cc engine is installed, which produces 125 horsepower and accelerates it to 230 kilometers per hour. An excellent result, considering that actually a close competitor, the KTM 690 Duke, has much more modest parameters.

In the context of the topic of speed characteristics, I would like to say a few words about handling. Despite the seemingly meek nature of the Honda CB 1000 RA, it can and does love to surprise. Up to 150 kilometers per hour, the handling of the motorcycle can be considered a reference: it does not strive to be stubborn with a small change of course, provides sufficient downforce and enters the curves satisfactorily. But what starts beyond this mark requires nothing more than a professional level of driving. The fact is that the streamlining of the model suffers greatly due to the absence of side panels and a windshield, due to which the uneven distribution of air flows can provoke wobbling and drifts. The task of the pilot in such situations is to react in a timely manner to what is happening and take countermeasures, which the ordinary user is not sufficiently trained in. Perhaps the final feature of the CB 1000 RA is the different suspension travels at the front and rear, equal to 128 and 120 millimeters, respectively. However, this does not affect the driver's comfort in any way - it is convenient to travel on a motorcycle for both short and long distances.

Advantages

  • modern set of functions, implemented technologies;
  • an interesting shape of the exhaust pipe leading to a small pipe of the exhaust manifold;
  • comfortable fit and comfort when moving;
  • optimal power indicators, coupled with acceleration and maximum speed parameters;
  • pleasant appearance with an abundance of sharp corners and shapes.

disadvantages

  • unpredictability when driving at speeds of 150 kilometers per hour.

The road bike, the name of which is translated as "Duke", in fact, is a very nimble, compact and cute model with a very flexible character. The 690cc single-slave engine has 67 horsepower, which is enough to provide decent speed performance. And this is despite the fact that almost 150 kilograms of dry mass have to be given movement.

A large part of the weight of the KTM 690 Duke is carried by a steel space frame, the elements of which are visible even without much analysis of the motorcycle and inspire confidence in the reliability of the entire structure. By the way, the frame elements also stand out against the general background due to the bright color, which looks very appropriate and unintentional. In general, you can safely put a five with a plus for the color of the motorcycle - many small details, the combination of gray and black with bright (contour) orange create a unique picture that is guaranteed not to become boring for a long period of time. As for the comfort parameters, in general neither experts nor users have any complaints about this side of the bike. The seat is made with strict observance of the balance of softness / stiffness, the suspension, albeit harsh, has a stroke of 135 millimeters, and the motorcycle accelerates without kicks, jerks and other indecencies.

Advantages

  • great selection of colors and their combinations;
  • high degree of reliability of individual structural elements;
  • low cost on the secondary and from an authorized dealer;
  • comfortable fit and comfort when traveling around the city;
  • hard space framemade of high-strength steel.

disadvantages

  • low power of a single-cylinder engine.

Best Chinese motorcycles

Zongshen Winner ZS250GS is an unconditional old-timer of a specific motorcycle segment from China, known in Russia for more than a dozen years. Despite the obsolescence of a number of nodes, it continues to be in demand among domestic users, mainly for a low cost, even from authorized dealers. Technically speaking, this bike is a real workhorse designed for economical movement within the city or when traveling long distances. The 17.7-horsepower engine, not gluttonous and very nimble, in combination with 20 liters of gas tank volume, is certainly available.

Calling the Zongshen Winner ZS250GS a sport bike is pure sedition. However, the manners of a sporty style still exist in it. The engineers managed to achieve the effect of charging thanks to stock wheels on 17-inch disks, an original windshield, as well as their cheap plastic linings, which make the motorcycle's appearance amazingly more expensive. If we discard all the "tinsel", in the bottom line we get advantages in the form of economy, dynamics and its full-fledged feel, as well as the amazing reliability of consumables (at least stock). Of the shortcomings, consumers complain only about the gearbox, which works in an incompletely understandable mode, but in the long term they just get used to it.

Advantages

  • very economical fuel consumption;
  • reliability of consumables;
  • good movement dynamics at low power of the 250 cc engine;
  • attractive appearance with sports claims.

disadvantages

  • not found.

Cruise motorcycle from the well-known company Lifan, the prototype of which (to the smallest detail) was the well-known Yamaha Virago bike. Having received an engine with a volume of 250 cubic centimeters, the model was able to accelerate to an impressive 160 kilometers per hour, even despite the reinforced frame structure. All this is distributed over a five-speed transmission, which provides consistent acceleration without obvious jerks.

In terms of exterior styling, the Lifan LF250 Cruiser has inherited most of the Virago's characteristics, as well as the spirit of the legendary cruising motorcycle. The black color of the body elements in combination with chrome trims give the model an air of calm superiority, with which one wants to leave mortal thoughts far behind and slowly drive along good desolate roads along the picturesque coast. Due to the special purpose of the bike, the manufacturers took care of the safety and comfort of passengers on the road: the seat has acquired orthopedic features, the dashboard is placed on the gas tank, and you can assemble on a cruise using trailed trunks. Of course, there were some drawbacks here, but they are all somehow connected with consumables and connecting cables (like the clutch cable). Fortunately, there is an option with the addition of the Chinese with original spare parts from the Japanese "primary source".

Advantages

  • almost complete clone of Yamaha Virago with full interchangeability of parts;
  • interesting design;
  • maximum speed of about 160 kilometers per hour;
  • reinforced frame construction.

disadvantages

  • short-lived consumables that require replacement at the beginning of operation.

Patron Taker 250 is a typical Chinese-made, which combines good technical characteristics and stylish design. With a small volume of a single-cylinder four-valve engine (only 250 cubic centimeters), its speed can reach 140 kilometers per hour. The reason for this lies in the use of lightweight construction materials, which reduced the total weight of the bike to 146 kilograms. As for the external showiness, the Taker 250 owes it to the cool plastic body kit and streamlined forms. After the restyling, the body acquired additional stampings in the "skin" (mainly on the bottom), and the classic round headlight gave way to a monolithic plastic shield with a kind of broadening of the light source.

As users note, while driving on the track, the Patron Taker 250 behaves very agreeably and predictably, which is due to a good design solution (with a rigid diagonal frame, a mono-shock absorber on the rear wheel, as well as an original front fork). Among the advantages are good maneuverability, comfortable fit, the aforementioned reliability and stylish look. The disadvantages lie in the little things - consumables pour out very quickly.

Advantages

  • acceptable price;
  • very striking appearance (in versions before and after re-styling);
  • very lightweight construction (146 kg), which increases maneuverability and speed;
  • the ability to accelerate to 140 km / h.

disadvantages

  • low quality of consumables.

Meet this subjective list of the top ten motorcycles that will make your hearts beat in the coming season (2019). It was not easy to choose them ...

With such a large number of new products this year (over 60), the choice was difficult, but not impossible. Driven more by heart than mind, I let my emotions run wild and created a list of the bikes that impressed me the most and which will soon hit the road.

The list is open, so I am also waiting for your opinions! Share them in the comments, but be sure to include the arguments.

10. Honda CB 650 R

Honda unveiled yet another naked from the Neo Sport Cafe line this year, a minimalist, austere, heart-beating four-cylinder sourced from the CB 650 F. In this version, however, the performance has been tweaked to make the motorcycle more flexible. middle range and more high revs (12,000 instead of 11,000 rpm). The front wheel is driven by a Showa quality SFF fork, 41mm diameter, rear with adjustable clutch and HSTC traction control as standard.

  • Power 95 HP at 12,000 rpm
  • Torque 64 Nm @ 8500 rpm
  • Weight with liquids 202 kg

9. Husqvarna Svartpilen 701

Just like the Vitpilen 701, it is based on the KTM-ie, the Duke 690, and its heart is a powerful 693cc single coil. The futuristic 18-inch rims are wrapped in Pirelli MT60 RS rubber, the moto also features adjustable WP, exclusive ABS and a quick derailleur and scrambler-like wide handlebars.

  • Power 75 HP at 8500 rpm
  • Torque 72 Nm @ 6750 rpm
  • Weight with liquids 167 kg

8. Suzuki Katana

Introducing Katana, the Japanese made a nice nod to retro lovers. New model refers to the legendary 1981 Katana GSX 1100. It has plastic, a square headlight with a distinctive fairing, and an old-style logo and lettering. As well as the fact that the Katana comes with the well-known GSX-S-1000, I can't complain about the lack of emotion.

  • Power 150 HP at 10,000 rpm
  • Torque 108 Nm @ 9500 rpm
  • Weight with liquids 215 kg

7. Yamaha XTZ Tenere 700

I have a feeling that we have waited too long for this. However, this does not negate my joy that, finally, (even here I licked my lips unnoticed). The last “” is driven by the CP2 engine, that is, the 689 cc inline two known from the MT-07. In addition to an excellent and at the same time almost imperishable engine, a large space gives a ground clearance of 240 mm. Thin plastic, narrow tank and vertical display will appeal to those who like to ride while standing. Old school followers will also appreciate the ability to disable ABS. The front pivot is inverted with 210mm travel, and the wheels are 21-inch and 18-inch.

  • Power 73.4 liters. from. at 9000 rpm
  • Torque 68 Nm @ 6500 rpm.
  • Weight with liquids: rumored to be 205 kg

6. Ducati Panigale V4 R

Water cooled Desmosedici Stradale R 998cc engine. With less than 105 cm3, he can participate in the Superbike World Championship (WSBK). Despite its lower capacity, the R version is, however, more powerful than the production Panigale V4.

When it comes to V4 accessory, the R is equipped with advanced traction control, six-axis IMU, ABS, up and down switch, rear wheel control, engine level control, multiple riding modes and DSC (Ducati Slide Control).

The Panigale V4 R demonstrates its sporting ambitions in every detail, even the smallest one. Noteworthy are the additional fenders located on the sides of the fairings. This decision was taken from Superbike and MotoGP racing. The suspensions were provided by Ohlins - an NPX 25-30 upside-down fork at the front and a TTX36 shock at the rear. Braking is provided by Brembo Stylema calipers and a 330mm disc.

  • Power 221 HP at 15 250 rpm
  • Torque 112 Nm @ 11,500 rpm
  • Weight with liquids 193 kg
  • * version without approval has a capacity of 234 hp. from. and weighs 165.5 kg (dry weight).

5.KTM 790 Adventure R

Off-road fans and fans of “orange” are happy as children, because at the EICMA exhibition in Milan the Austrians (finally!) Showed the off-road 790. Even though it looks like it lacks some of the fairings, this touring enduro will surely handle it both on the track as well as on the real road. Cubic spoke wheels, good suspension jumps (240 mm), low weight (189 kg), a narrow sofa and a large fuel tank (20 liters) are reminiscent of the Dakar climates, and these are the big and naughty guys they love the most!

  • Power 95 HP at 8000 rpm
  • Torque 88 Nm @ 6600 rpm
  • Dry weight 189 kg

4. Harley-Davidson LiveWire

Harley-Davidson LiveWire Electric? This have not happened before! The serial version debuted at the EICMA exhibition in Milan, and, I will not hide, caught my eye. True, the Americans do not mention anything about its parameters and performance, however, knowing something already about, I am expecting a specific kick in the ass.

The LiveWire will be equipped with an SFF-BP fork and Showa rear suspension. The package also has Brembo Monoblock brakes, ABS, traction control and mode changeover.

3. BMW S 1000 RR

In this car, the guys at BMW finally ditched asymmetrical lights. Many people I know were delighted with this news, but I will miss the old "bully look" headlights.

In technical terms, the engine has changed. The car has become more powerful by 8 hp, and also "lost" by 11 kg. The new four-cylinder engine features a variable-phase ShiftCam gearshift, which improves the bike's flexibility. The S 1000 RR for 2019 received a specific electronics package - DTC traction control, rear wheel control and ABS Pro, four driving modes, tFT display, switch up and down, and six-axis IMU. As an option, there will also be a launch control system, a semi-active suspension, a pit-line speed limiter and a Pro driving mode, which will come in handy on the track.

  • Power 207 HP at 13,500 rpm
  • Torque 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm.
  • Weight 197 kg

2. Jawa

This Java is originally from India. The engine is responsible for its drive with a volume of 293 cm3, similar to the Java 250/350 of the last century.

Interestingly, despite the ribbed cylinder, the machine is liquid-cooled, not air-cooled. The two chrome-plated exhausts are directed downward, the discs are spoke, and the tank is shaped like a characteristic drop. Everything looks pretty good and really looks like a Czech car. The bike is simply cute and evokes sentimental feelings, and for this it is the second place. New Java in India costs 164,000 Indian rupees (₹), or 8,620 rubles. Unfortunately, we do not know when the bike will reach Europe.

  • Power 27 HP
  • Torque 28-Nm
  • Weight about 170 kg

1. MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro

This motorcycle is the most powerful mass-produced naked bike. The 998cc four-cylinder is removed from the F4 RC. The machine develops maximum speed more than 300 km / h! In addition to Ohlins pendants, there is also a lot of electronics - TFT display (5-inch), throttle drive-by-wire, rear wheel control, traction control, launch control and quickshifter (+/-).

Interesting fact: during the EICMA-2018 exhibition in Milan, thanks to the votes of the audience, the Brutale 1000 received the title of “Most Beautiful Motorcycle”.

  • Power 212 HP
  • Torque 115 Nm.
