Kiya rio what kind of butter. Types, features and characteristics of original Kia-Hyundai engine oils

For more than ten years, "Koreans" have been traveling on the roads of our country Kia rio... Moreover, the most popular models are cars of the second and third generations. Among all models, they differ in very many positive factors.

Most are equipped with four-cylinder gasoline engines (1.4 - 1.6 liters). There is also a modified model equipped with a diesel power plant.

If you correctly operate the Kia Rio engines, carry out timely maintenance, they rarely fail. The internal combustion engine of this car is so versatile that it can work with fuel of any quality, while maintaining excellent traction.

Of course, the durability of the motor depends on many factors, especially the cars of the third generation. But until the car has covered 300,000 kilometers, there is no need to worry about the normal operation of the engine.

What is the best oil to use in Kia Rio?

Car enthusiasts and manufacturers of lubricants have different opinions on the brand of oil for the Kia Rio. In any case, when choosing, you must first of all take into account the recommendations of the car manufacturer.

He knows well all the subtleties of the engine, his design features and is always interested in the engine running flawlessly until the end of its working life.

To achieve minimum fuel consumption, as well as protect the internal combustion engine, professionals advise to choose oils with a certain viscosity index. The label usually indicates its meaning:

  • SAE 5W-20;
  • API SM;
  • ILSAC GF-4.

The above brands are sometimes difficult to buy. In this case, it is necessary to select the oil viscosity that is most suitable for operation in specific conditions. In Russia, 5W-30 is more in demand than others.

When choosing oil for Kia Rio, be sure to consider the time of year. Winter car oils are distinguished by their high fluidity, summer ones are much thicker. If desired, you can use an all-season liquid.

Highly important parameterindicating the quality of the oil is the manufacturer's approval. It indicates that the properties of the lubricant and its quality meet the requirements of the vehicle manufacturer.

Manufacturer's choice

Of course, the choice of the manufacturer of the lubricant product depends on the individual desire of the motorist. But at the same time, it is very important that it be a company known as the world's leading manufacturer of high-quality fuels and lubricants.

It is better to buy car oil in special service centers or dealerships. Thus, it will be possible to protect yourself as much as possible from acquiring a fake. In Russia, the most popular oils remain under the brands:

  • Motul;
  • Shell;
  • Mobil;
  • Total;
  • Castrol.

High quality and excellent properties allow these products to be used in any newest cars... Kia Rio is no exception.

If you spend timely replacement oil and operate it correctly, the wear of engine parts is sharply reduced. If we talk about small differences, then ZIC XQ and Total Quartz oils are considered the best in terms of viscosity.

Depending on the package of additives that make up the lubricant, it can differ in its fluidity, have a different chemical composition. To propulsion system worked without interruptions, it is better to use the oil recommended by the manufacturer Kia Rio.

If you use other oils, the characteristics of which do not meet the specified parameters, the performance of the internal combustion engine is sharply reduced, and fuel consumption is significantly increased.

An incorrectly selected viscosity will cause premature engine wear. It is better to use original lubricants that meet all the manufacturer's requirements.

Selection lubricant you need to start with the instruction manual for a specific car model. The specified documentation describes the viscosity, type, class required oil... The purchase of the recommended engine oil for Kia cee’d will reduce fuel consumption, improve the performance of the power unit, and also increase the operating period of the engine and lubrication system.

Recommended engine oil for Kia cee’d is described in the manual for the car. In this documentation, the manufacturer not only indicates the parameters of the engine oil suitable for a particular car engine, but also focuses on the need to take into account the seasonality of the fluids. Depending on the season, there are lubricants developed for the summer, for the winter, or all-season. Each type of grease has specific characteristics and a unique chemical base to provide normal work kia motor LED depending on the operating conditions of the machine.

The selection of a lubricant is made taking into account the base fluid base and the temperature range in which the vehicle will be operated. For stressed working conditions and too hot climates better fit synthetics or semi-synthetics. In worn-out engines with high mileage, it is preferable to use mineral oil.

When buying motor fluid for Kia seed, pay attention to whether there are tolerances on the fluid canister. The presence of tolerances indicates the compliance of the engine oil with a specific car brand.

Conclusion

Engine oil parameters affect vehicle fuel consumption and operation vehicle in cold weather (starting the engine, pumping the lubricant). Using the recommended Kia cee'd engine oil will improve engine performance and extend the ego's operating life. The use of even an original car oil that does not meet the recommendations of the manufacturer Kia ceed will lead to deterioration of the lubrication of the engine and its premature failure.

Changing the engine oil is an important procedure that does not forgive mistakes. Let's consider it on the example of the Kia Rio car, which is very popular in our country. A lot of useful informationthat will surely be valuable for both beginners and experienced owners Kia ceed.

As you know, without qualified and timely service, any car will break down, and the upset owner will eventually sell it. First of all, it is necessary to pay special attention to the car's engine (in this case Kia Ceed), since it is the "heart" of the car.

The same goes for the choice, as well as the frequency of engine oil changes.

How often to change the oil on a Kia Rio

Kia has set the same oil drain interval for all generations of Kia Ceed. So, it is once a year or every 15 thousand km. This is in theory, but in practice the situation may differ - take, for example, different operating conditions, climate change, the quality of the road surface, driving style, etc. These factors determine how fast the oil will be consumed. In this regard, some experienced owners have calculated the replacement interval themselves. So, let's name the most suitable oil change intervals for Kia Ceed:

  1. Every 15 thousand km - subject to the speed limit of 50 km / h and more
  2. Every 10 thousand km - subject to a speed limit of 30 km / h
  3. Every 7 thousand km - if the speed limit is less than 20 km / h

It turns out that the lower the average speed, the more often there is a need for an oil change.

Tolerance and class

When the right choice all parameters must be taken into account, the appropriate class and tolerance must be selected. detailed information this is indicated in the user manual for the Kia Ceed.

To date, three generations of Kia Rio are known. There is a well-founded opinion that the newer the car, the more stringent the oil quality requirements for it.

For example, for Kia Rio first generations can recommend oil with aPI classes SL as well as ILSAC GF-3. In fact, now all the oils available on the market meet the specified classes. The main thing here is that this standard is not higher than the specified one, that is, of a higher class.

For Kia Rio second generations oil will do with API SM and ILSAC GF-4 standards. It often happens when the design of a car supports a higher standard - for example, as in this case - API SN and ILSAC GF-5.

The third generation Kia Rio is designed to support more modern oils with API SN and ILSAC GF-5 parameters.

As for additives, it is not recommended to add them to the oil, as a truly high quality oil should have sufficient lubricating properties.

Modern power plants, which are equipped with Kia Rio cars, have small clearances in the piston group. In this regard, for such motors, oil with a low viscosity is required in order to avoid "dry" friction and better remove heat from the heated components of the internal combustion engine. As a result, it turns out that with the release of all new generations of Kia Rio, the recommended viscosity index is gradually decreasing - if earlier it was at the level of 40, now it is no more than 20. These parameters need to be given special attention, since engines with a lower viscosity do not support oils with higher viscosity. In extreme cases, non-compliance with the rules can lead to premature wear of the most loaded engine parts due to their oil starvation.

How much oil to fill in Kia Rio

Let's pay attention to the amount of oil to be poured for a specific Kia Rio engine:

  • Diesel 1.1 75 HP from. (production started in 2011). Required volume - 4.8 liters
  • Gasoline 1.2 87 HP from. (Since 2011). Volume - 3.3 liters
  • Gasoline 1.3 75-82 HP from. (2000) - 3.4 liters
  • Petrol 1.4 97 l. from. (2005). 3.3 liters
  • Petrol 1.5 98-108 HP from. (2000). 3.3-3.7 liters
  • Diesel 1.4 90 HP from. (2011). 5.3 liters
  • Diesel 1.5 109 hp from. (2005). 5.3 liters
  • Gasoline 1.6 112 HP from. (2005) - 3.3 liters
  • Gasoline 1.6 123 HP from. (2011) - 3.3 liters

Which company oil to fill

  • Shell Helix Ultra (Shell Helix Ultra)
  • Total quartz
  • Divinol
  • ZIC XQ LS

Good day everyone! We continue the topic of choice oils for Kia Rio... The topic is quite extensive and there is still a lot of work ahead. Therefore, get ready, as there will be at least a couple or three articles on this particular car model ahead. Today we will talk about engine oil for Kia Rio. We have already talked about, but today we will repeat this topic again. Also, do not forget to read articles about her.

Engine oil for Kia Rio (Kia Rio) - selection by SAE viscosity

Before buying oil for Kia Rio, you need to have at least a glimpse of the instructions for the car. After all, how are we? We go to the store, see expensive oil, buy it and think that everything, the engine is reliably protected. But this is not always the case. Usually, the manufacturer himself recommends which oil to use in the engine. If you again refer to the instructions, you can understand that the manufacturer recommends oil for Kia Rio with a viscosity of 5W20 or 5W30. At the same time, 5W20 is a more preferable option. And 5W30 is recommended to be used if 5W20 oil is not available for sale. But in hot countries it is better not to use a viscosity of 5W20, but to use, for example, oil with a viscosity of 5W30. The manufacturer also warns about this. Here is a page from the manual for kia car Rio:

Why is that? Everything is simple. The engines of modern cars are made with minimal clearances between the rubbing pairs. If earlier it was possible to pour oil with a viscosity of 5W40 into almost any engine and drive calmly, then modern cars this will no longer be forgiven. Oil with such a viscosity hardly penetrates into the gaps, leaving them on the verge of "oil starvation". As a result, there is an increased wear of engine parts. And hence the increased oil consumption and early engine failure. That is why it is recommended to use oil with the recommended viscosity. In our case, the oil for Kia Rio must correspond to a viscosity of 5W20 or 5W30. This requirement applies as for gasoline kia engines Rio and diesel. This viscosity must be applied all year round regardless of weather conditions. We sorted out the viscosity. Now let's talk about the quality of the oil.

Oil selection for Kia Rio according to API and ILSAC quality class

In one of the articles, we said that there are three generations of Kia Rio. Each generation comes with a certain oil. The more modern the generation, the higher the quality of the oil the manufacturer recommends to use in the engine. For the first generation Kia Rio gasoline engines, it is recommended to use oil of API SL and ILSAC GF-3 quality class. These are quite old requirements. Almost all oils in auto dealerships meet these standards. It is not necessary to look for these particular standards. Higher quality oils are quite suitable here, for example, API SM / SN and ILSAC GF-4 / GF-5.

The second generation requires the use of API SM and ILSAC GF-4 oils in the engine. As in the first case, it can be better (API SN and ILSAC GF-5), worse - not possible.

The latest generation of KIA Rio requires even more quality oil, namely the latest generation oils API SN and ILSAC GF-5.

Concerning oils for Kia Rio with a diesel engine, the manufacturer recommends using oil with a class aPI quality CH-4 and above, for example

Engine oil for Kia Rio (KIA Rio) - which is better synthetic or semi-synthetic?

Which oil is best for Kia Rio - this is probably a rhetorical question, since one cannot say that one oil is better and the other is worse. There are oils suitable for a particular motor, but there are not suitable ones. Among them there are high-quality ones, and some are not very good. Certainly synthetic oils better than semisynthetic ones, since they are of much higher quality. Plus, synthetic oils do not lose their properties much longer. But quality comes at a price. 100% synthetics are 2 times more expensive than conventional semisynthetics. In addition, there are also hydrocracking oils. These are oils obtained by the hydrosynthesis of oil. Due to the reduction in processing costs, the final oil is cheaper and is practically not inferior in its properties. But hydrocracking oils lose their qualities faster than synthetics.

Therefore, when choosing oils for Kia Rio it is important to choose not the most expensive, but the most suitable one according to the manufacturer's recommendations. And also do not forget to make a replacement in a timely manner.

Oil for Kia Rio 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015

The last third generation of the KIA Rio began its existence in 2011. The line of motors includes both gasoline and diesel. Oil for Kia Rio 2014 with gasoline engine must comply with quality class SN / GF-5. In this case, engine oil is perfect. Liqui moly Special Tec AA 5W20. This is a decent hydrocracked synthetic with an average price tag. There is also a similar oil in the Special Tec AA line, but with a viscosity already 5W30. Photos of oils below.

If you decide to buy Liqui Moly, then first read the article: "". I think this will help you not to run into a fake.

The second option is original oil Hyundai / KIA Turbo Syn 5W30. it korean oil for Kia Rio, which is produced by Mobis. Quite a good option. But you will have to pay a little extra for the brand.

Change engine oil on a car KIA Rio you can at the station maintenance (STO) or independently. This procedure is described in some detail in the manual for the car, and is not particularly difficult. Taking into account the prices for service stations, it is best to change the oil yourself. This will significantly save the family budget.

Usually, do-it-yourself engine oil change on Kia Rio 2011-2017, is no different from the procedure that is carried out at the service station. The recommended frequency of changing engine oil on the Kia Rio is 15,000 km. But in practice, it is better to replace it after 7000-10000 km. This is not surprising when you take into account the condition of the roads and the urban pace of the car with frequent stops. All these circumstances lead to a rapid deterioration in the quality of engine oil. First of all, the lubricating and cleaning properties of the oil deteriorate, which greatly increases engine wear and reduces its resource. At the same time, when changing the engine oil, you should not forget about changing the oil filter. Oil and filter are always changed at the same time on any car.

In practice, changing the oil on the KIA Rio independently can be done in two ways:

- Vacuum pumping of oil. Vacuum pumping is usually done through the engine oil dipstick hole. This method is good because there is no need for a lift or overpass. The main disadvantage is the need to use special equipment, which is available even not in every SRT.

- Draining from the pallet of the car. The second, traditional and proven method for decades, is more reliable, since all waste accumulates in the engine sump. Vacuum pumping is simply not capable of pumping out all the waste oil from the sump.

To change the oil, we need:

  1. Oil filter - 26300-35503.
  2. Engine oil - as a rule, barrel SHELL HELIX ULTRA 5w-30 is poured from an authorized dealer, it is recommended by the KIA plant. But you can buy it in an ordinary four-liter canister. When choosing an oil, it is worth considering what is indicated in the warranty: 5W-30 oil of SN or SM class (SN- is better, since it is a more modern standard).
  3. Engine oil pan drain plug gasket - 21513-23001
  4. Wrench for "17" for twisting the drain plug.
  5. Flushing oil 3 liters.

Oil change.

The replacement process is carried out on a warmed-up engine, the heated oil is more fluid and easily drained from the lubrication system.

- After a ten-minute warm-up of the engine, you need to drive into the inspection pit. If necessary, this is not difficult, you should unscrew several fastening bolts. will prevent us when replacing the oil filter. At a certain level of dexterity, it is possible to remove the protection not completely, but to unscrew only two bolts fastening to the subframe.

- Then it is necessary to drain the used oil from the crankcase into a container specially prepared for this purpose. The crankcase plug must be unscrewed very carefully, as the oil is very hot, it is better to use gloves and glasses.

- After the oil is glass, the stopper can go in two ways, change using flushing oil and without it:

  1. With flushing oil. Twist drain plug after replacing the drain plug gasket, and fill in about 3 liters of flushing oil. Run the engine for about 10 minutes and drain the oil again. (There is a way to remove residual flushing oil by repeating the flushing procedure only using 2-2.5 liters of oil, which you will fill when changing.).
  2. No flushing oil. With this option, we remove the residual waste oil from the crankcase, for this we use a syringe with a curved needle.

The question of the use of flushing oil is in cases where it is not known which oil was filled earlier or a switch to another type of oil is made. In other cases, you can do without using it. Modern engine oils already have detergent and cleaning properties in the required amount for cleaning the engine lubrication system.

- Now you can twist oil filter for replacement. This can usually be done by hand without using a special tool. Before installing a new filter, pour 150-200 ml of oil into it. Then we carefully wind the new oil filter with our hands. There is enough hand strength to tighten the filter, this will allow you to easily twist it by hand at the next replacement.

If you can't remove the filter by hand, it doesn't matter there special tool or the old grandfather's way. It's simple, we take a thicker screwdriver and a hammer, punch through the filter with a screwdriver and unscrew it with this lever.

- After completing all the procedures with the key on "17" we tighten the drain plug, having previously replaced the gasket.
