What to choose - Hyundai Elantra or Toyota Corolla (Hyundai Elantra vs Toyota Corolla). Big test: Kia Cerato, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Elantra Compare cars which is better than Corolla or Elantra

Hyundai Elantra or Toyota Corolla? This question is asked by a large number of people when buying one of the cars. It is simply impossible to say for sure which car is better. Both cars are of good quality in their build.

But the article will present the main specificationsto help you choose between these two vehicles.

Hyundai Elantra specifications

The body of the car is created as a sedan with four doors. The car uses gasoline in its work. Inside is an engine with a capacity of one hundred and twenty-two horsepower and a volume of 1591. The engine is average, the power to compare with sedans of other companies. Maximum speed the car is one hundred and ninety kilometers per hour and the acceleration time to one hundred kilometers is ten seconds.

As we can see, the car has a fairly average speed characteristics. The car also has a five-speed gearbox, rear drive, and two pairs of disc brakes. Basic characteristics:

  • - Length 4505 mm
  • - Width 1775 mm
  • - Height 1480 mm
  • - Clearance 160 mm
  • - Tank volume 53 liters

Fuel consumption within the urban cycle is only eight liters, while outside the city the car consumes only five liters. All of the above characteristics show that the car is completely ordinary, without any distinctive features. It has medium speed characteristics, small dimensions, very low fuel consumption.

This makes it possible to use the car for city and intercity driving.

Toyota Corolla specifications

Hyundai's main competitor is Toyota. These two cars are in constant competition with each other. However, there are distinctive features, which are very striking when we talk about Toyota. The car is presented in the form of a five-door hatchback.

The engine in it has only ninety-seven horse power... It runs on gasoline. The maximum speed of the car is one hundred and eighty-five kilometers per hour, and acceleration to one hundred kilometers is made in twelve seconds. Based at least on these characteristics, we can say that Toyota is inferior to Hyundai.

As for the consumption, it is the same as in Hyundai: the urban cycle is eight kilometers, the suburban cycle is five kilometers. The gearbox is five-speed. Key features show that Toyota is more compact than Hyundai.

  • - Length 4180 mm
  • - Width 1710 mm
  • - Height 1480 mm
  • - Tank volume 55 liters

In general, both the first and the second car are quite economical and have an average speed. They are sold by affordable prices... Considering all this, we can conclude that cars will be an excellent find for any driver.

The characteristics given in the article will help in this difficult choice. Therefore, if you still do not know what to buy: Hyundai Elantra or Toyota Corolla 2014 - read the article. Good luck!

In our country, people drove golf-class sedans even before the invention of this very class - just before other cars we, by and large, did not have. And for many, father's and grandfather's "Zhiguli" and "Muscovites" formed the most desirable type of car, which now seems utterly traditional.

What is the sedan's appeal? Now that the market is full of all kinds different cars, the answer to this question does not seem obvious. In terms of practicality, the three-box body is far from ideal: hatchbacks and station wagons imply much wider possibilities of transformation when it comes to transporting goods. In favor of the sedan, you can come up with various arguments of any degree of persuasiveness, but the main argument will still be habit: a sedan is for all times, because it is a classic of the genre.

Recently, however, the four-door body is experiencing serious competition from new formats: the market is enslaved by crossovers. And yet sedans have their own army of fans who cannot be seduced by a high seating position and a large ground clearance, but you can beckon with design, technology, equipment and god knows what else. What exactly? We decided to check this by collecting a collection of three popular models. The main ringleader was new hyundai Elantra: a year ago, the "Korean" got a new generation, and more recently it has reached Russia. We took a Toyota Corolla to his company, which had just gone through a restyling. And the third we called Kia Cerato - the most obvious contender for Japanese and Korean cars. All cars are equipped with the most powerful engines and automatic transmissions possible. So, let's try to figure out which of the three cars is ready to deliver maximum daily joy to its owner.

The best-selling car in the world is what the Toyota Corolla is. This model has more lives than a cat: in half a century of its dizzying career, the car has been reborn eleven times! In 2013, the Japanese celebrated the release of the 40 millionth copy - it was a car of the current generation, which has been produced since 2013. By the way, Corolla used to imply a variety of bodywork, but a few generations ago it gave up this prerogative to the Auris model, which spun off from the "King's" family.

In different markets, Corollas have always been different from each other. However, this tradition has survived to this day: for example, in America this sedan looks completely different. We sell the so-called global model with a different body design. Despite the presence of its own assembly plant near St. Petersburg, the car is brought to Russia from abroad from the Turkish Toyota plant and sold with three power units: 1.33 (99 hp), 1.6 (122 hp) and 1.8 (140 HP) liters. The weakest motor is combined only with “mechanics”, while the most powerful one assumes a default variator. But the 1.6-liter engine mates with both the manual gearbox and the CVT.

More recently, an updated Corolla has appeared on sale, with which the exterior and interior have been thoroughly retouched. The worldwide bestseller has clearly begun to look more interesting, and yet the beauty of the Toyota still does not shine. However, this is just a matter of taste.

Interior japanese sedan much richer than in the "Kia", but still far from the German ideals of the "Corolla". What's wrong? Well, for example, landing at the wheel. It seems that you can get a job without any problems, but after Hyundai and Kia it seems that there is not enough steering range. The front seats are softer and more amorphous than in Cerato, however, in essence, they are in no way inferior to Korean furniture: yes, they seem to be more free, but they hold tightly in turns.

The Japanese car attracts primarily with its driving performance: it seems the most "natural" in sensations. There is a clear and honest steering wheel, which for me is the key to good handling; comfortable suspension and a pretty bouncy engine. At first I was confused by the variator, but it is set up in a way that other "automatic machines" never dreamed of. And the interior is nicely decorated: finishing materials and build quality are not satisfactory. "Toyota" seems the most comfortable due to the fact that it has a high torpedo - you feel protected in it. However, there are also disadvantages. I don’t understand why there is no parking sensor in the car worth a million and a quarter. A rear view camera is, of course, good, but there is still not enough additional sound indication of approaching an obstacle. And, of course, it freezes out the need to visit MOT every ten thousand kilometers, which greatly increases the cost of maintaining the car.

Toyota can boast of the most advanced multimedia device, but the main gripe about it is the lack of physical buttons. Everything here is on the sensors: the screen itself and the "push buttons" around it. A special failure is the volume control: poking on the drawn plus and minus is terribly inconvenient. The buttons on the steering wheel partly solve the problem, but even they cannot be compared with the usual "round" volume control - as in Kia and Hyundai. And also this "piano lacquer" on the center console, framing the music center. Ay, gentlemen designers car companies! How long, huh? The beauty is doubtful, and in the process of use the gloss quickly loses its presentation.

Stepless variator

in the case of the "Corolla" can be considered a very successful alternative to the traditional "machine"

The tunnel is practically absent;

and there is a large distance between its casing separating the front seats and the sofa cushion

Theoretically, Toyota will include

longest load: with the sofa folded down, the distance to the backs of the front seats is maximum

But at the back, everything is not so smooth - even though there are no problems with space. The process of landing on the sofa is not overshadowed by anything, but there are fewer amenities here: there are no separate ventilation ducts, no heating; and the center armrest is too low - far below its counterparts on the door trims. But in Toyota it is easier to drive back row three of us: more legroom for the one who is destined to sit in the center (there is practically no tunnel; and there is a rather large distance between its casing separating the front seats and the sofa cushion).

The trunk is approximately the same size as that of competitors, and there are no special nuances in transformation: you can only fold the backrest, getting a decent step instead of a flat loading area. Theoretically, Toyota will carry the longest load - another plus. And in the minuses we will add the complete absence of devices for fixing the luggage.

It is interesting to ride the Corolla. Of course, there is no question of any drive, but the car seems very lively and responsive. The variator works great: it deftly pulls the car after the engine, without breaking the connection between the desired and the actual. The steering wheel is filled with effort and information in equal measure: the steering wheel rotates a little harder than that of the Elantra, but the transparency of the drive in the Japanese is also better. And also it should be noted that the obvious fact that the sound insulation has been worked out more carefully. Like!

"Cerate"? "Cherato"? Serato? Inevitably, you have to think about how to pronounce the name of the Korean car correctly. You can hear a variety of options - up to the offensive "Sirota". In general, who in what way.

The current sedan is no longer young: it appeared in 2012. By the way, about the body: the first generation Cerato, which replaced the Sephia model, existed in two guises - both as a sedan and as a hatchback. However, when generations change the lineup Kia started up new branchon which the cee "d grew up with all its variations. And the Cerato retained only the four-door modification.

By the way, the Koreans themselves are unable to make a mistake with the name of the car: in their homeland, the sedan is sold under the designation K3. And in North America, this car is named Forte.

Cerato comes to the salons of Russian dealers from the Kaliningrad plant "Avtotor", where a full-cycle assembly has been established. The buyer has a choice between two gasoline engines 1.6 and 2.0 liters; more than weak engine combined with both "mechanics" and "automatic", and the two-liter power unit can be obtained only with automatic transmission.

The appearance of the "Kia", though pleasant, is painfully inconspicuous: the sedan looks like some kind of "average", besides, over the years of its existence, it has become familiar. Salon against the background of "Corolla" and "Elantra" looks, forgive me, lonely: it seems the most plastic. But this simplicity, in fact, does not spoil the impression of the car, since there are essentially no reasons for complaints: the ergonomics are good, and all the necessary amenities are present. No frills? Well, so what to do - but Cerato is cheaper than its rivals, even in conditions of equality of configurations. And for buyers of cars of this class, this is an argument!

"Kia" looks quite modern, but inside it is already noticeable that this car has been produced for several years. The salon looks quite budget-friendly, primarily because of the hard plastic, although my Jetta, whose finishing materials are also not up to par, manages to create a more noble impression. I was more confused by the persistent smell of phenol that exudes the interior - for an expensive car of a decent brand, this is completely unacceptable! But it turned out to be a pleasure to ride the Serato. I liked both the smoothness of the ride and the dynamics of acceleration. An interesting feature was the button that changes the steering wheel settings. True, I did not appreciate this innovation: in comfortable mode the effort drops so much that it becomes almost uncomfortable (paradoxically), and in sports it seems as if the front wheels are slightly deflated.

Instead of a fancy multimedia with a touch-screen, the Kia has a not too sophisticated head unit with a usual “insensitive” matrix display and control of keys and knobs. However, dealing with music the old fashioned way is much more convenient than reaching mutual understanding with more sophisticated systems decorated with large screens (like Toyota's multimedia center, for example).

A serious drawback of Cerato should be recognized the pungent smell that exudes the interior plastic. Frankly, this fact discouraged me a little: I was sure that the Koreans had won out over plastic smells for a long time. Is this really the cost of the Kaliningrad assembly? But mediocre visibility cannot be attributed to production - these are the design features. Thick A-pillars with "support" can hide an important part of the landscape behind them. The side mirrors are small, but generally informative. There was no rearview camera on our car - this is the prerogative of the top version. Premium.

6-speed "automatic"

tuned pretty well and allows the motor to fully reveal its fighting qualities

The back row is spacious

and there are no problems with landing. As in Elantra, the side seats of the sofa can be heated

Trunk cannot be opened from outside:

there is no button on the lid. You can uncork it with a key or a lever near the driver's seat

I liked the front seat: the padding is tight, the lateral support is excellent. There are no problems with adjustments: there are a minimum of them, but the ranges are sufficient, so you can instantly adjust the "furniture" for yourself. The back row is spacious, and the landing process is not overshadowed by anything - although tall citizens, it is possible, will notice the not the highest doorway. As in "Elantra", the side seats of the "seratic" sofa can be heated.

The trunk is not overly impressive in both size and fittings. The lid is held on hinges, which, when closed, dive onto the load; in addition, the quality of the finish is quite dull - there is a thin rug on the floor covering the full-size spare tire. The saddest thing is the inability to open the trunk from the outside: there is no corresponding button on the lid. Alternatively, use the key, where the button is still there. Or pull the lever on the floor next to the driver's seat.

A two-liter engine, coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission, endow the Kia with life-affirming agility. Overclocking is active, and it is convenient to manage it: the box clearly knows its business! But in terms of handling, the "Korean" is far from ideal: with sharp maneuvering at a decent speed, the car begins to swing, revealing noticeable rolls; and the steering wheel always seems empty, although with the help of the settings you can make it heavier or, conversely, lighten it to the extreme.

But with the smooth running of the "Kia" everything is quite decent: the suspension rounds out significant irregularities in favor of the inhabitants of the cabin, and dissolves small ones without a trace. True, the "Korean" seemed noisy: the song of the engine is always well listened to, and other acoustic debris reaches the ears of passengers more often than in Hyundai and Toyota.

The Korean Elantra is a child of the nineties. Rather, the nineties: the production of the first generation car began in the fall of 1990 - it was a simple sedan with a 1.6-liter Mitsubishi engine. In some markets (for example, in Europe) the car was not called Elantra, but Lantra. Subsequently, other names were added: for example, in their homeland in South Korea the car is known as the Avante.

For a quarter of a century, five generations of the model managed to change, and last year the sixth "Elantra" was presented. This fall, the sedan appeared in dealerships, and immediately russian assembly - The machine is produced at the Kaliningrad Avtotor by the SKD method. We sell modifications with 1.6 and 2.0 liter gasoline engines, each of which can be friendly with both mechanical and automatic transmission gear.

Externally, the Elantra has changed: the lines stopped flowing and lined up in a more strict and expressive form - and the sedan immediately visually rose in price. There is no doubt: Hyundai looks the most fresh and attractive out of our trinity. The effect is enhanced by the color - our car was painted in brick-red mother-of-pearl PhoenixOrange, which definitely attracts attention and ... money: the surcharge for any color scheme other than the basic white is ten thousand. Tolerable.

17-inch wheels on which our "Elantra" stood, a sign of the Style package (80,000 rubles), which also includes xenon, keyless entry and dashboard Supervision with color display. The latter in terms of graphics is similar to that on Kia, but only the image quality of the Elantra is at a fundamentally different level, although there are no special advantages in terms of functions. In terms of information content, the instruments are absolutely flawless.

Multimedia looks simpler than Toyota, solely due to the small screen size. And yet it is a full-fledged touchscreen that is easy to use. And most importantly, the volume is regulated by a normal knob, and not by touch buttons, as in the "Corolla".

If we restrict ourselves to purely superficial observations, then the interior of the Korean car makes the most favorable impression, but in reality inner world Elantra is replete with hard plastic: for example, door cards made of it almost entirely. Traces of economy can be found in other places: the Auto mode is provided only for the driver's window, and in glove box no backlight.

I cannot fail to note the design of the new "Elantra" - at last the cars of the Korean brand have found their face! It seems to me that many buyers will be tempted by looks alone. And the interior looks very even - it looks clearly more expensive than the interior of the Kia, although the quality of the materials does not match the Toyota. And yet, there is a certain contradiction in the car - especially in terms of the equipment: here is the fattest stuffing, which contrasts with annoying shortcomings like the glove compartment without illumination and power windows, devoid of automatic mode (only the driver has it). In terms of dynamics, Hyundai is slightly behind Kia, but it drives a little more interesting, although I still liked Toyota more.

In terms of visibility, Hyundai is clearly better kia: the mirrors are the same in shape, but the A-pillars are noticeably thinner. The rear view camera prompts the trajectory - unlike the Corolla, where the lines in the picture do not move when the steering wheel is turned.

The chairs are similar in shape to the Cerato seats, but they are covered with something leather-like. The question of whether such furniture is needed in a relatively inexpensive car, we will take it out of the discussion. But there is no doubt that an ordinary "rag" is more comfortable: in summer the skin heats up quickly and cools slowly. As for winter, there is no need to worry: like in Kia, all seats and steering wheel are heated in the Elantra.

In the "Elantra" in the back row

there is a distinct lack of headroom - this is due to the sloping roof

The only noticeable difference

luggage racks of Korean cars are reduced to an elastic mesh in the cargo compartment of "Elantra"

In the open space in the back a number of Hyundai comparable to Cerato, but the three of us will not be so comfortable to sit: the distance from the lining of the central tunnel to the sofa is less, so the passenger in the center will not be very comfortable. In addition, in "Elantra" there is clearly a lack of headroom - this is due to the sloping roof.

The trunk is normal, although it should be noted that here, too, a full-size spare wheel on a cast disc is hiding underground.

The two-liter Elantra rides briskly, though not as lively as the Cerato. But I liked the chassis settings much more than that of the Korean brother: the suspension is not so relaxed, but at the same time it is in no way inferior in terms of smoothness - even adjusted for tires with a smaller profile. And the energy intensity is quite decent: you won't scare Hyundai even with relatively large irregularities - rather, you will be scared yourself.

Hyundai Elantra, 6th generation, 09.2015 - 07.2019

I have a min. equipment. The car is service and I temporarily live and work in the glorious city of Almaty (s) (Kazakhstan). Perhaps there is a difference with the Russian Federation, the previous generation is still being sold here. 1. Good int. interior volume and trunk. External dimension - reasonable sufficiency: when there is a lot of Camry, and Solaris is small and cheap.
2. Move. 1.6 tries hard, peppy and economical for its volume. You can increase the "buns": the presence of complete sets with 2 liters, heated rear sofa, leather.
3.92+ gasoline.
4. USB port and a pair of sockets.
5. Under the hood for people: free access to the engine, you can tighten the alternator belt by tightening the nut (well done), the washer reservoir with the norm. neck and lid on the "hinge". In general, it looks like solutions that do not prevent the owner from self-service.
6. In white color is not interesting to traffic cops. :)
7. Steering wheel for reach and height, seat microlift, electric glass.
8. Not a bum-cloth for the seats.
9.6 ACKP.
10. The level of electrification (mirrors, wiper mode (manual setting), fog lights, etc.)
11. Soft plastic.
12. Good handling for the average driver.

1. Weak windshield glass.
2. Low clearance (relevant for Siberia).
3. If the car is not in a plane, then the doors are already closed with effort (possibly in last generation differently).
4. ESP is not in my version.
5. 6AKPP + 1.6 engine - they try, but 2 liters is better. :) And it's even better to pour all the same 95 :)
7. Ergonomics of landing: I am of average height and would like to have a lower handlebar. And so I remember the VAZ 2106 on the grip of the steering wheel, the microlift and the outlets of the column do not help.
8. Blue backlight (I like it, but many don't).
9. Lack of heated front seats.
10. The brakes are too harsh (in my opinion).
11. At first it seemed to me that he was "a goat". And I knew that there was a beam behind, and a couple of personal cars with 3 and 3.5 liters and, accordingly, with other technical solutions. But then I got used to it, especially if the roads are decent, then the average drivers will not notice this (and those who did not have time to spoil themselves with the low exchange rate and the availability of cars will not notice :(

10,000, but something podryakivaet ahead, and not the suspension. What a conditionally "plastic" knock. A pebble flew into the area of \u200b\u200bthe counter, a microscopic chip came out of work, and already a crack of 7 cm, it was too late to drill. The plastic behind does not resist children's feet :)

Good day! If you are already over 50 and you are a calm measured person, do not rush anywhere, then this car is for you. The pros of Elantra 6 are appearance, especially in black. Drove 18 thousand by car. Engine 1.6. machine. There were no problems. If in terms of dynamics, then the car on the track goes sadly, especially when overtaking, in the city so-so ... The paintwork is shit, chips are already on the hood everywhere., I caught a pebble in the glass from the oncoming lane, already a spider, I had to run to solder. Soundproofing a la Lada six. Finishing inside is sadness, plastic is scratched kaput, any not neat movement is a chip or scratch. The conclusion was the following: if you just drive calmly from A to B, then it will do. If you want more, there is no point in overpaying, buy Diesel Fuel or Rio. (Before it was a Passat 1.6 102 l and Peugeot 308 120 l)

Corolla or Solaris - which car is better? This question cannot be answered unambiguously without understanding the topic. Both vehicles are known for their quality and reliability. Even price policy they have about the same. This article will tell potential buyer, in which iron horse it is better for him to invest.

External data

2016 release (standard) - the brainchild of Japanese developers. The machine has a rounded shape. The car looks quite ergonomic. The body cannot boast of a high ground clearance, which makes driving on rough terrain almost impossible. The front of the vehicle looks quite stylish. The chrome-plated radiator grille deserves special attention. In general, the appearance is classic - everything looks simple, stylish and interesting.

2016 release (set Active) - the famous "Korean", which is one of the most popular cars on the territory Russian Federation... Despite the relatively low price, the iron horse looks quite expensive. The body is a bit like Toyota, but only vaguely. If you look closely, you realize that the Korean car has more large parts. For example, big headlights. They are wide near the radiator grill, and towards the fenders they begin to taper, which looks very interesting. With clearance, too, not everything is perfect - it is quite low. The appearance is of great interest to buyers. The doors are especially beautifully made: they have two transitions in the form of waves, which add extravagance to the body.

Technical specifications

In order to accurately answer the question which is better, you will definitely have to figure out the technical characteristics of iron horses. Don't just figure it out, but make a thorough comparison.

Volume power unit the "Japanese" is 1.3 liters, and the "Korean" - 1.6. It is logical to assume that the power of the second is higher - 99 horses, against 123. The maximum speed is 180 and 190 kilometers per hour, respectively. At the moment, Hyundai is outright winning against its opponent.

Toyota has a larger luggage compartment - 50 liters, against 43 Solaris.

An important point is transmission... The specified configurations are equipped mechanical boxes gearshifts that have six speeds. By adding a sixth gear, drivers have the opportunity to significantly reduce fuel consumption. As for the consumption itself, this parameter is one of the most important. For a hundred in mixed mode, Corolla spends 6-6.5 liters, but Hyundai Solaris - 7, or even all 8. If you want to save money, then make a choice in favor of the Japanese.

Acceleration to 100 kilometers for Hyundai takes 11.5 seconds, and for Toyota - 12.8. The difference is not that big, given that the described vehicles extremely rarely purchased in order to drive them. Type of drive - front on two cars. As for the functionality, there is a draw here, because the simplest assemblies are described.

These are actually all the main technical characteristics that will be needed to draw up a general picture for readers. The rest of the parameters can be found on the dealers' website.

Price policy

Today, the average price for a Toyota Corolla is 891 thousand rubles in the simplest assembly. Want a more solid option? Get ready to shell out an amount of about one and a half million rubles. For Hyundai Solaris the price is 705 thousand. Naturally than better build, the higher the costs.
