Such an engine delivers frantic thrust at medium revs and immediately accelerates even from very high speeds. However, the automatic transmission is able to reduce the degree of excitement with its leisurely switchings.

The steering wheel is responsive to the driver's commands, and also poured with a pleasant weight. This allows you to confidently maneuver, but turns must be done more carefully because of the tangible buildup.

V generation (2009-2013)

After a long hiatus in the fight against its main competitor, the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet decided to get involved in the battle again and presented the world with a completely new Camaro. The car received a spectacular body design with retro motives, as well as rich equipment, roomy salon... However, the main trump card of the American sports car was its affordable price, which turned out to be significantly lower than that of competitors.

The salon is neatly assembled. However, the finishing materials are not of the highest quality - the hard plastic of the dashboard, as well as the pseudo-aluminum inserts, upset.

VI generation (2015 - present)

The current Chevrolet Camaro is very similar in appearance to its predecessor, but upon closer examination, it is noticeable that this is absolutely new car... The interior has undergone significant changes - a new multimedia complex has been installed, the instrument panel has been redesigned. The technical reforms are also pleasantly surprising.

How much does an American sports car cost? A compartment is imported to the Russian market only by order, so its price is purely individual.

More effects

The salon is interesting and functional. At the same time, the quality of materials is at a very decent level - the panels are upholstered in leather with neat stitching, there are inserts made of real aluminum.

The dashboard with a huge display of secondary readings pleases with high information content, as well as colorful design. The center console houses a modern multimedia complex that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and displays navigation, a picture from the rear view camera.

Moderate aggression

The supercharged 2.0-liter engine with a return of 238 forces pulls well throughout the entire rev range, but acceleration occurs without pronounced pickups and a formidable roar. Automatic box changes steps quickly, although it lacks a smoother operation.

The steering will satisfy the vast majority of active drivers who rarely choose to racing tracks... The steering wheel is informative, quite responsive, and there are practically no rolls when cornering. However, in slow turns, you need to significantly limit the speed, otherwise the car will drive the front axle out of the trajectory.

The Detroit International Auto Show in January 2006 saw the premiere of an all-new concept car that heralded the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro muscle car. The serial version of the "American legend" appeared before the public in 2008 in Las Vegas, and the next year it reached car dealerships. Aggressive, predatory, muscular - each of these epithets is perfect to describe the appearance of a sports car. The spectacular look is reinforced by the vicious gaze of the head optics peeping out from under the edge of the long hood, the chopped shapes of the rear fenders, lED lights, two "muzzles" of the exhaust system and beautiful wheels measuring 20 inches.

"Camaro" of the 5th generation is a large car: 4836 mm in length, 1918 mm in width and 1377 mm in height. Against this background, the equipped weight of 1687-1770 kg is not perceived as something out of the ordinary. The wheelbase of the "muscle car" is 2852 mm, and the gap from the bottom to the roadway (clearance) is 118-122 mm. The "open" version of the Convertible is slightly larger - 5 mm longer and 12 mm higher, and ground clearance it has 3 mm less.

The interior of the Chevrolet Camaro 5 has a spartan atmosphere, and hard and inexpensive plastics are used everywhere, although the seats are dressed in good-quality leather. Square "shafts" are hidden behind the multifunctional steering wheel borrowed from the Cruz dashboardthat look original, but do not shine with information content. In the shape of the center console, space notes are traced, and it is crowned with a color display of the MyLink multimedia complex and a stylish air conditioning control unit (there is no "climate" even for an extra charge). Privilege expensive versions - four "loopholes" additional devices at the very bottom of the torpedo, showing important information.

"American" is equipped with comfortable and dense armchairs, but their lateral support is not expressed enough. The rear seats are more suitable for children or short adults - the stock of space is limited both in length and in height.

The trunk of the "Camaro" is small - only 320 liters, and instead of a "spare wheel" there is only a repair kit.

Specifications. For the Russian market, the "fifth Camaro" was equipped with two types of gasoline power plants, each of which docked with a 6-band "automatic" Hydra-Matic 6L80 and a rear-wheel drive transmission.

  • "Top" versions "sport" a 6.2-liter V-shaped "eight" with an aluminum block of cylinders, phase shifters at the inlet and Eaton technology, which turns off some of the "pots" at low loads, in the arsenal of which a herd of 400 "horses" available at 5900 rpm, and 554 Nm of peak thrust at 4300 rpm.

With the "junior" engine, the coupe develops 100 km / h after 6.2 seconds, with the "senior" engine - 1.5 seconds faster. The maximum speed in both cases is limited to 250 km / h. Due to its greater mass, the convertible is slower in acceleration dynamics by more than 1 second, but it was not officially available on the Russian market. In the combined cycle of movement "Camaro" costs 10.9-14.1 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

The fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro is based on the GM Zeta platform, where the engine is shifted behind the front axle to achieve better weight distribution (52:48 in favor of the front end). MacPherson struts are installed in the front, a four-link structure in the back. An electric booster works in the steering drive, and all wheels are aggregated with ventilated disc brakes (on the front axle their default diameter is 321 mm) and aBS systems and EBD.

Options and prices. On the Russian market, the "Camaro" coupe was sold in two trim levels - 2LT with a V6 engine and 2SS with a V-shaped "figure eight" under the hood. For the first modification, the minimum requested was 3,900,000 rubles, for the second - 4,600,000 rubles.
The list of standard equipment includes front and side airbags, air conditioning, cruise control, MyLink multimedia complex, leather interior, full power accessories, heated front seats, premium audio system and 20-inch alloy wheels.
