Technical characteristics of the first model DT-75

In 1963, the DT-75 tracked tractor developed by VgTZ specialists was put into production. Subsequently, the model was repeatedly modernized.

The changes made by the designers did not affect the structure of the DT-75 bulldozer, specifications which initially looked like this:

  • SMD-14 engine. Diesel power unit had four cylinders, a water cooling system, with a working volume of 6.33 liters, developed a power of 75 liters. from. and consumed 195 grams of diesel fuel per horsepower per hour. Role starting device performed gasoline engine PD-10M-2. In this version, the mass of the DT-75 engine was 675 kg.

Taking care of comfort and performance


In 1972, the car received a modified design with a comfortable, sprung cab. This improved the working conditions of the operator, but did not allow the placement of a significant fuel tank in the same place.

Thanks to this decision, the DT-75K tractor acquired a peculiar appearance and received the popular nickname "Postman".   • To facilitate starting in the cold, the proposed additional equipment preheater PZHB-200.
  • Rear lifting mechanism received a limiting rotation of the levers upward and a modified fastening of the ends of the front struts to the frame.
  • A support device controlled from the driver's seat protected the DT-75K tractor from overturning when working on steep slopes.

In order to expand the range on DT-75 tractors, a power take-off shaft (PTO) is used with a drive from a drive shaft of the UKM or a creeper.

Transmission - 4-way (7 forward gears and one reverse), is installed in the front compartment of the body common with the rear axle. On the front wall of the gearbox, a UKM or creeper mechanism is mounted in a separate housing.

The base model is equipped with a two-seater all-metal pressurized cab. The seat was adjusted according to the height and weight of the driver. Since 1978, the DT-75 has been supplied with a new sprung cab, which is shifted to the right from the central axis of the tractor to improve visibility.

Modifications

DT-75M model. Produced since 1967 at VgTZ and since 1968 at PTZ. It differed from the base model:

DT-75B model. Swamp modification, designed for agricultural work in peat extraction and drained bogs. Produced in series since 1968 at VgTZ. The main differences are:

  • sMD-14NG engine (80 hp; 1800 rpm);
  • a cabin similar to the DT-75M;
  • spars on a welded frame are connected by elongated beams, as a result of which the width of the tractor has increased to 2240 mm, and the track - to 1570 mm;
  • the width of the tracks was increased to 670 mm, which made it possible to achieve a specific pressure on the ground of 0.24 kgf / cm2 with the idler wheels lowered (longitudinal base - 2365 mm) or 0.33 kgf / cm2 with the idler wheels raised (longitudinal base - 1612 mm);
  • added front and rear sump to protect engine and transmission;
  • instead of UKM, a 4-stage speed reducer is used.

Model DT-75K is designed for agricultural work on mountain slopes with a steepness of no more than 20 ° at an altitude of up to 2000 m above sea level. Producer - VgTZ (since 1972). This modification was equipped with an SMD-14NG engine and had the following features:

  • welded frame and tracks are identical to the DT-75B model;
  • to prevent overturning on slopes, a supporting safety device was used;
  • the cockpit had a visual roll indicator and was equipped with two seats located one opposite the other;
  • the reverse gear in combination with the front and rear linkage mechanisms made it possible to work in a shuttle way.

The next modification, the DT-75N, was produced with an upgraded SMD-18N engine. The specified unit was completed with a turbocharger and adjustment fuel pump, thanks to which the power of the power plant was 95 hp. (1800 rpm).

The tractor was produced only at VgTZ and was aggregated with the same attachments as the DT-75M.

DT-75S model. Designed for agricultural, loading and earthmoving road works... Key Features:

    Do not overload the engine during this time. At the end of this procedure, you must change the engine oil.

    If the tractor is put into storage, then the following steps should be performed: clean the unit, put it in a dry place, drain the oil and gasoline (they will still get moisture and become unusable during this time), disconnect the spark plug wires (so as not to oxidize) and lubricate the transmission.

    Planned technical inspection includes periodic oil changes. Before draining the engine oil, it is necessary to warm up the engine so that it becomes thinner and easier to exit the system.

    Then the pallet is placed under the crankcase and the mining is drained. Be careful not to get hot oil on your skin.

    While it is draining, you can clean the centrifugal oil cleaners and filters. After that, fresh engine oil M-10G2k or M-10dm is poured into the DT-75K tractor.

    It is also necessary to monitor the oil pressure in the hydraulic system. If it does not exceed 1 kgf / cm3, then it is necessary to top up lubricant or clean the filters, if the pressure is over 2.5 kgf / cm2, then the oil is drained and the filters are washed.

    Major faults and repairs

    Every owner of DT-75M tracked tractors should know how to repair the main malfunctions of these machines.

    The engine will not start: Lack of oil or diesel;
    Clogged or incorrectly tuned fuel system;
    Problems with the ignition system;
    Compression in the cylinder due to wear on the piston rings.
    If the engine runs intermittently:
    Spark plug problems;
    Low-quality fuel;
    The needle is stuck on the nozzle.
    The brakes do not work: Free pedal travel has increased (adjust its position);
    The brake disc or pad is worn out (replace the corresponding parts).
    If the gearbox overheats: Small gear or bearing clearance (adjust);
    Lack of oil or its poor quality (add oil to the required level that is suitable for this model);
    If the hydraulic system does not raise the attachment: There is not enough oil in the hydraulics (it is necessary to bring it to the required level);
    The hydraulic pump is off (you should turn it on);
    The safety valve is stuck (you need to disassemble and clean it).

    The most vulnerable point of the DT-75 tractor are the caterpillars. And many owners have experienced tearing or tearing.

    It is aggregated with the same agricultural machines as the DT-75 and DT-75M tractors.
    The tractor is equipped with a four-cylinder, four-stroke liquid-cooled SMD-18N diesel engine with gas turbine supercharging. The main engine is started from the driver's seat using a starting motor with an electric starter.
    The SMD-18N engine is a modification of the SMD-14NG engine; differs from it by the presence of a turbocharger and regulation of the fuel pump.
    To warm up the engine before starting it at an ambient temperature below -5 ° C, a PZHB-200 pre-heater is provided on the tractor.
    Units and mechanisms of the tractor are mounted on a welded frame, which consists of two longitudinal welded spars of closed rectangular cross-section, interconnected by transverse ties.
    The clutch is dry, double-disc, permanently closed.
    The gearbox and rear axle are mounted in one housing. The rear axle has two single-stage planetary swing mechanisms with band brakes, which provide braking of the tractor both in forward and reverse motion. The planetary gear reduces the effort on the steering levers of the tractor.
    The tractor transmission, chassis, PTO, rear linkage mechanism are completely unified with similar parts and assemblies of the DT-75 and DT-75M tractors.
    The undercarriage consists of drive and idler wheels, support rollers with rubber tires, four suspension carriages and two track chains.
    To work with beet harvesters, a unified narrow caterpillar is installed on the tractor.
    By order of the consumer, the plant can equip the tractor with a four-stage creeper.
    The tractor is equipped with a separate-aggregate hydraulic system, a rear linkage mechanism with an automatic coupler, which allows connecting machines and implements according to two-point and three-point schemes, and a hitch.
    Hydraulic system and the hinged device are unified with the DT-75 and DT-75M tractors.
    Closed cab, all-metal, double, sealed and sprung. The seat is adjustable for the driver's weight and height.
    To create normal temperature conditions, a ventilation unit is provided in the cab, which supplies air cleaned from dust, humidified and cooled. It turns on when the windows and doors of the cab are closed.
    To ensure the optimum air temperature at the driver's workplace in winter, an air heater is installed in the tractor cab. The design of the cab allows you to operate the tractor in all weather conditions.
    To improve visibility, the cab is shifted to the right of the tractor axis, and the increased capacity fuel tank is located on the left side of the cab.
