This is the most powerful engine of those that went to the machines of the Majesta line. Since 2006, it has been put on a serial conveyor in order to gradually replace the UZ brand motors.

The eight-cylinder V-shaped "monster" received a working volume of 4.6 liters. Its maximum power is 347 hp. Start of assembly - 2006. In addition, in the new century, Toyota engine builders began to carefully introduce the latest fuel system... The 1UR-FSE engine was one of the first production examples to be installed on it. Her systems included:

  • d4-S direct fuel injection system;
  • variable valve timing system VVT-iE on the intake manifold.

In comparison with the UZ line, timing chain drives began to be installed on the new motors. This is because the chain must provide higher torque for massive (6.5mm larger diameter) cylinders. Over the years of operation of the motor, one relatively frequent drawback of this unit was revealed - the weakening of the timing chain tension. Otherwise, the mechanism proved to be very simple and reliable.

By the beginning of the new century, Toyota mechanics could not get rid of the "minuses" traditional for any modifications:

  • oil waste;
  • low pump life (up to 100 thousand km).

Fuel consumption:

  • in the city - 16.5 liters;
  • outside the city - 7.9 liters.
  • combined - 11.1 liters.
